Apathy Monitoring Research Project

Sponsored by the Granville, Toich and William Bell Research Society (GTWB)

The aim of the study is to record the apathy levels amongst supporters of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club over the period between Saturday 18th February to Monday 13th March. The participants of the study will be the willing supporters of the ICT Online Forum.

The aim is to produce a report which demonstrates any changes in the mood of the support, particularly in regard to the levels of apathy.

The levels should be based on the level of anticipation that the club has the capability of automatic promotion, ability to reach a play off place and taking into account the overall performance of the team i(inclusive of tactics) in each game during the stated collection period.

Following every game participants will be asked to score their levels of apathy following the game, utilising the following scoring criteria - and providing explanations in regard to the reasoning behind their scoring.

1 - Totally devoid of any glimmer of hope.

2 = Just about ready to throw the towel in.

3- Beginning to see a shimmer of light but not overly hopeful that the light will develop.

4- Things are looking slightly better but not exactly giving me too high a level of anticipation.

5 - Signs that things are beginning to improve and an increased confidence that it could be maintained.

6 - We appear to be going in the right direction and the continuing improvement gives definite hope for the future.

7 - We are maintaining the levels of commitment and change of approach which eminated from Livingston and things are looking a lot brighter.

8 - If we go on like this we could make the play offs comfortably

9 - If we go on like this we could make the play offs and reach second place.

10 - If we go on like this we could win the Cup again and make automatic promotion.

PLEASE ADVISE OF YOUR APATHY LEVEL PRIOR TO THE LIVI GAME AND AT THE PRESENT TIME PRIOR TO THE HAMILTON HOME TIE TO ESTABLISH A BASELINE

Thanks to Smirnoff and Coke for their support throughout the Research Process.

Well to be honest the reason that I started this topic - and the reason I have been posting after an absence - is that I was disillusioned and TBH totally cheesed off - by the negativity and IMHO a nu

Immediately after the Hamilton drubbing I was probably off the scale, however, having slept on it and considered everything I'm back at 2.

Not quite 1 yet but we'll see what happens on Tuesday.

Another humping then and I'll be giving up all hope for this season.

(All hope for promotion, that is. Hope for avoidance of relegation is another story!)

As I am psychologically minded I will carry on as the study may help to bring about change. I have gone down to a 4 but I still think that there is an outside chance of making the play offs and the games leading up to the Killie game are going to decide our season. I am heading to Hamilton mid week to further judge for myself as I can’t believe that yesterday’s performance came a week after Livi. It simply defies logic how a team can put in such a performance- against better opposition - one week and totally self destruct the next ? For those who were at both games what the feck happened??

There was nothing on show yesterday to suggest we can make play offs.

Was last week a fluke? I dunno but it's truly been a one off performance this season

When you play a Premiership team you try harder.

When you play a wee team you don't bother.

We were really good last week though.... I can't explain it other than as  fluke?

Well as the Club  (ie Board and coaches) APPEAR TO BE COMPLETELY PATHETIC i will score myself at one for apathy

That result really rocked me. Down to 3

Just shows what the players are capable of when they choose to rise to the occasion.

6 - We appear to be going in the right direction for administration and the continuing lack of improvement gives definitely zero hope for the future.

Ahoy shipmates - are you rats donning yer life jackets or are you Didos and prepared to go down with the ship . I will send semaphores from the crows nest over the poop deck in the stormy seas of Hamilton - still at a 4 by the way 🤞

If I refuse to give any more money to the charlatans running out club, I'll be fecked if I'm going to put money in the pockets of those running opposition clubs.

I'm a rat who has brains enough to recognise a bad bet 😂

A rat will eat its own young to prolong its own existence.

Brains, or instinct, who knows?

But a rat is a rat.
