  1. As noted by Ywingwie, it was Raven's first goal for the club, but the other two goals were also 'mile-stones'. Marley Watkins goal was also his maiden strike for Inverness while Billy's goal takes his tally to 50 for ICT in all competitions - in his 100th appearance. 100 caps, 50 goals...the ratio of a top striker!
  2. Tactically immaculate with plenty of fight to add to it...as well as a special moment for Dave the Rave. We just bossed them from start to finish and with the exception of one great save from Deano we limited them to few chances while exploiting their dire backline. Every time Doran, Shinnie or Foran got down the flanks they looked like causing problems and the sly finish from Dave just added to what was a great night. Got to give credit to Yogi. Got it spot on and just mopped up any pressure while getting us to make the most of counter attacks. Also brought on Watkins at the perfect time, emphasized by his easy run and finish to kill the game off. Another terrific derby atmosphere that added to the occasion as well, from start to finish it was a wall of sound. From back to front everyone played their part but Foran definitely takes it for me, he may be pushing 34 but he still leads the line like no other. Won plenty in the air, covered every blade of grass and more than deserved his ovation as he was subbed. Overall a top notch performance and a night in Dingwall I will never forget.
  3. Absolutely fantastic performance all round tonight. I've never seen them so fired up for the derby game at Dingwall before and before the end County were well beaten and we made fools of them long before the final whistle, giving them the total runaround. Different class guys and everyone did their bit even the crowd who gave good backing. MotM, difficult one with so many top displays. Foran was immense, Doran had the beating of the defender and Billy was again superb, his goal just reward for his general play. I am over the moon with this result, probably our best ever display against County
  4. You should have seen the draft copy!
  5. Charlie Christie refused my offer to buy him a drink. What a heartbreaker.
  6. What's this about not winning in Dingwall for 10 years? It must be about 17 since we won in Cowdenbeath or Montrose
  7. Thought all the guys were immense! What a dominant performance! Richie Foran take a now! Shame some feel the need to criticise players after such a good team performance IMO.
  8. I know it is frustrating that we don't get the coverage and respect from the central belt but I don't think we should get upset as I think it just plays into our hands and allows us to get on with our business in the background.
  9. What a performance. Struggle to think of a derby in recent years when we've been so comfortable, but we were in total control throughout. For me, the fight of shinnie and foran was immense and it was the best game draper has had in ages. Doran never wrote anything off as a lost cause and was fantastic. But ultimately all credit goes to hughes for tactics (and fire up team talk??). Swapped Vincent out wide to allow foran to play just off Billy and offer so much aerial support with draper mopping up everything and tansey doing a very quietly effective blocking/tidy up role. For me, Butcher would never have shown that flexibility but foran was immense. I dont want to leave out our defence, brill had an incredible save and warren/meekings always looked in full control. Delighted for raven and shinnie just shone yet again, no more to say. choice and performance of subs was infallible.
  10. I'm not a fan of Hughes but more results like that and I'll be eating humble pie before long. To say that was a walk in the park would be an understatement. Anyone who knows me will note I'm a glass half empty person but even I knew we were winning this game after we got a second goal. County were rubbish. Complete and utter garbage. If we really wanted to I genuinely think we could have won 5 or 6 nil. Well in lads and Hughes as well. Keep it up! I'm off to bed to reminisce about speaking to Shinnie and McKay in town tonight about the game.
  11. They are probably referring to "Adams, Adams, What's the score?"
  12. They were in bad taste. If there was a down side to the evening, it was that.
  13. Brilliant all round performance. We clearly wanted it more than them and we clearly have better players than them. Foran led by example and was superb. Match stats show things pretty even but the reality was that we always looked more threatening and had the ball ran a bit more kindly at times it could have been more. I don't recall ever seeing so many home supporters leave before the end of the match and that probably reflects just how dominant we were. Well done guys - just terrific!
  14. It is a special section fer soft southern bestards
  15. HAPPY DAYS - 4 tickets bought for the final. Flight from Australia booked. Be there for the Hibees match too. Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

I nominate you all to sell out the home end for the Scottish Cup Quarter Final. Lets wake up Inverness and show those TV couch potatoes what they are missing out on. Together we Believe Together we achieve.
  17. Remember the days of following the scores on Ceefax?! That's how I followed the 'SuperCaleygoballistic' game.
  18. I think it's Foran that we miss more than any other individual player. And the recent run of better from has a lot to do with him being back. When he's not been playing we struggle, this has been the case for a while now. Either way we have probably the strongest squad we have ever had at the moment.
  19. I guess so, but I never saw Vincent as a replacement for OTJ but more for Andrew Shinnie.

On my way back to Caithness after that wonderful match last night I was listening to the Ian Anderson programme (after 10pm) on Radio Scotland when he played this song that had been sent to him (I think) written and sung by someone from the Inverness are (I assume). It was brilliant but simple. The tune was a slightly different version to 'when the saints' but it could easily be suing to that tune which I imagine everyone knows. There must have been 6-8 verses including references to that wonderful Celtic game including the famous headline; references to Yogi and Kenny Cameron; even references to Rangers and how now that they were playing in the lower divisions that was not very funny because we were loosing lots of money. The chorus was Oh Inverness, Oh Inverness, Oh Inverness we all love you We have a bridge and we have a castle Oh Inverness we all love you The 'Oh Inverness' part can be substituted by 'Oh ICT, Oh ICT, and it fits in just as well. I realise that the euphoria I experienced last night may have carried me away a little bit but I really thought it was a brilliant but simple song and would not need to be confined to the cup final.

Yeah, not doubting that for a minute. It was more the contrast to the previous regime that I was meaning rather than singling out Yogi.
  22. As a result of our goals last night, County have now conceded more goals than even Hearts, and now boast the worst defensive record in the league with 49 goals against. Remarkably ICT have only conceded 21, bettered only by Celtic. To put this in context, our rivals Aberdeen and Motherwell have conceded 26 and 39 respectively. This must be ICT's best defence ever, and the keeper's nae bad either.
  23. Thanks Mantis, was waiting for that. Crikey, Billy doesn't half floor Shinnie after the goal... And great to see Doran flying again.
  24. Well, it's the day after the night before and I'm still in shock. It's incredible, mind boggling - but true.......... ..... County's pitch is better than ours
  25. Really RIG? I'd never have guessed, it's just as well you start nearly every post you make these days by reminding us of that first. Thanks, we'll bear that in mind.
  26. Wasn't going to go last night but so glad I did in the end. Can add little to what's been said already. I am a John Hughes sceptic but that must have been the best we've played under his management. The tactics could not be faulted and each and every player stood up to the plate and it's impossible to single out any individual. We were so dominant that Hughes was able to give Billy a 20 minute rest ahead of what's bound to be a hard shift for him up front on his own on Saturday. Smart thinking. What a racket me made outsinging the natives from start to finish, not that there were many left by the end. If we can get five times as many as that in that sort of voice for the final then Parkhead will be rocking. If the team play like that then Aberdeen better watch out.
  27. Just back from Dingwall and what a superb night out it was. We absolutely battered County from the off and defensively County looked a shambles. Richie Foran was absolutely outstanding tonight and Marley Watkins goal was superb aswell!
  28. How long until someone starts a 'John Hughes linked with Manchester United' thread?
  29. Outstanding performance from the entire team, worked their socks off and showed a hunger and desire that County couldnt match, Not sure of their names but the county no2 no25 and Kiss just couldnt cope with our players, Arquin looked decent for a spell but when things weren't going his way you could see him looking disinterested, As for us Richie Foran I thought was immense considering he's just back from injury, Draper looked good as did Doran and Graeme Shinnie was unstoppable at times going forward and some of the interlinking play with him and Doran going forward was a joy to watch. Dave the Rave first goal for ICT never going to be goal of the season but a joy to behold for the fans Hats off to them all
  30. And as a wee added bonus, Watkins goal pushed County 1 place further down the league on goal difference.
  31. Great result! Doubt it would have turned out so well if the lights had stayed on in the original game. And well done Dave the Rave - first ICT goal in 63 appearances, I think. And with all this recent talk of Fraser Forster, which keeper is on the longest run of shut-outs?
  32. Adams will simply claim that his bunch of loanees were the better team throughout and were robbed by those cheats from over the bridge: same as every week!
  33. wow - that will sell well !!! utterly utterly horrible
  34. Maybe he's having a bit of a flat spell, but he needs better supply and support. When he's the isolated one man up front, he's our only target and is always going to be heavily marked. He needs more linking from the midfielders, or another forward to play off.
  35. Best season so far --and we are complaining? This is ICT's year, chaps and chapesses, so just watch this space. I have consulted IHE and he tells me that he has consulted the oracle..so,,,,,?

My Heart is in the Highlands Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North, The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth; Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. Chorus.- My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer (staggies); Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe, My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
