  1. I can't say this appointment was unexpected and I wish RF all the best of luck. He will have ups and downs just like all our previous managers and I just hope the usual critics give him a chance when things aren't going so well. Personally, I look forward to seeing what changes he makes and the type of player he signs. They say Ireland has a wealth of talent waiting to be developed so maybe he will look to his homeland to start his recruitment. Good luck!

After the mistake Hibs made with Terry B, can you really see them falling for the same routine again from an ex ICT manager with a delusional sense of his own brilliance? Lol
  3. It's like going to poundland. You get lots of bargains but end up buying stuff you don't need
  4. A laudable sentiment Scarlet but sadly if taking 14,000 to Hampden didn't add to the gate the following season the appointment of a new manager, even a highly popular one, id unlikely in itself to have much effect but what it may well do is to prevent a fall in attendances which may have been the case if Yogi had stayed.

You have hit the nail on the head as they say but will that offer come along? It was good while it lasted but after winning the Scottish Cup it was downhill from there!
  6. Delighted that a new manager has been appointed, and happy that foran is getting a chance. No one knows how it will work out but he certainly has a lot to offer and the prospect of attacking football is very pleasing. I have to say that in the last month or so the board have done a tremendous job keeping the club spirit going and saving it from what could have been a disaster. Hughes had to go when he spoke out as no one man is bigger than our club. The player contracts continued to be signed including Dave the rave! Suddenly from a lot of fans up in arms and pondering our poor season, yogi went and there has been a continual rise in expectations for the coming season and excitement is brewing. That's why I love football and supporting ICT.
  7. Delighted actuellement. It's a harbinger or things to come, :- Fresh start with a down-to- earth grafter who does not appear to be obsessed with his own brilliance.Fans onside as well'. To sum up: Just wait until the team walks out onto the pitch in the first game here at Tulloch and you will then know the extent of the encouragement that the home fans are willing to give to Richie and the team. It'll be a blast..
  8. Oh! Kingsmills, now I am depressed again. But I love having the last word so...... "Word."
  9. The SPFL has confirmed its four league competitions begin the 2016-17 season the weekend of Saturday, 6 August 2016. This follows the group stages of the revamped Scottish League Cup, eight groups of five teams playing each other once in a round-robin format in July. This 80-game group stage will involve all 38 teams not involved in Uefa qualifiers, plus winners of this season's Highland and Lowland Leagues. Premiership clubs also enjoy a three-week winter break in January 2017. The full fixture lists for the 2016-17 SPFL league season are expected to be published on Friday 17 June 2016. 20/21 May 2017 is the end of Ladbrokes Premiership season.
  10. You sure about that? I heard the players weren't happy with him because he works them to hard especially towards the end of the season. In saying that we did finish the season strongly, still think we could do with a more experienced assistant. Rice just as a coach could work though.
  11. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3618574/From-Real-Madrid-Inverness-Caledonian-Thistle-Wales-boss-Chris-Coleman-s-chosen-Euro-2016.html Some very good publicity for the club linking Gareth Bale and us!!! ''From Real Madrid to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, these are Wales boss Chris Coleman's chosen few for Euro 2016''
  12. Definitely caleyboy
  13. It's no secret that the last managerial appointment was not greeted with universal delight so it's great to see that with the best part of a hundred votes cast only one solitary isolated soul has declared themselves unhappy with this appointment. Unity and togetherness has always been our greatest asset and, after a period of division, it's wonderfully encouraging to see that that has been so quickly and comprehensively restored.
  14. I've heard the complete opposite.

This was al done and dusted months ago
  16. Either that or his transfer policy is completely reliant on Inverness.

I doubt that he specifically had the Hibs job in mind and I doubt even more whether he will get it but he had been acting in his own self interests rather than the interests of the club for a rather long time.
  18. Come on Billy - you know it makes sense. Get your agent to drop the price a wee bit if need be, and come back to where you are cherished. We would love you to come back and you seem to be a player who thrives on security and we would look after you. Hope Billy is keeping an eye on caaleythistleonline.
  19. It's difficult to get a corner when your possession is in your own half and facing your own keeper!

Surely you can excuse Scarlet's gaffe C B after all he had just seen a shining light named Foran arise.
  21. Not wishing to rain on the Foran supporters parade but I worry about his appointment whilst wishing him well, management is not something you just step into and do well it takes years of experience to become a good manager in any walk of life. Charlie Christie was one of our truly great players and filled almost every role at the club but when it came to managing the football team it was by his own admission beyond him, same goes for Brewster when he was no longer a player. Be careful what you wish for. JH was an experienced manager and knew how to set up a team even when injuries restricted his choices, his problem was that he couldn't get/keep the quality up front to top off what he was teaching our defenders and midfielders. I truly fear for Foran and the club when things start to go pear shaped he needs an experienced no 2 at a minimum. Okay you can start hitting me with red dots now.

Doubt theyd take kindly to being slagged off in the press either...lol

Hibs would be mad to look at Hughes. They will now be desperate to get back into the top flight and need a manager who adapts the tactics to the strengths of his players. They also need a manager with a proven track record of using available cash wisely. What they do not need is a manager who wants to completely reshape the way the team plays in order to satisfy some romantic image of the way the game is played.
  24. Quite right Scarlet but probably not as far back as you being a youngster! BBC Scotland HQ was opposite Botanic Gardens at end of QMD until they moved to Pacific Quay about 10 years ago.

I hope he gets the job with Hibs. The man's a good coach and they have the facilities he desires. If he were to take them up he would be one of the most decorated managers in Scottish football. Good luck the bear.
  26. Would there be merit in keeping Rice on the coaching staff but bringing in another assistant manager ? I appreciate that might, however, be a financial strain.
  27. Sorry Elgin 1 didn't answer your main point where are the goals going to come from, in my opinion given the financial constraints there is only one answer Derek Riordan. Complete nutter, brilliant footballer it's the chance you have to take in the bargain basement bin I only wish we had JH to control him rather than Foran but that's the kind of player we are looking for and have signed in the past ie guys that have failed or been injury prone at other clubs, we are the last chance saloon for so many players at this level.

I see Richie is wanting to keep Brian Rice at the club.

With richies reputation for "direct communication" when out and about maybe the right shout would be richie forans black and blue army?
