  1. Good result against a team that's been battling hard for survival. Also, our first win there for 16 years! Paul Ritchie got a hatrick that day in a 5-1 win.
  2. Nothing on website. Disapointingly it finishes before pay day again.

I have little interest in how County do unless they are playing us. I have no issue with them doing well and having a wealthy benefactor. I certainly wish we had the same. Roy McGregor has the interests of his club and their fans at heart and I admire him for that. They certainly have a much stronger connection between the boardroom and the stands than we have in recent seasons. That said, whilst wishing County congratulations on almost certainly achieving promotion at the first time of asking, I now intend to ignore them and concentrate on our own efforts to get back into the Premiership. Not to match County but entirely for our own sakes and the same of the future of our club.
  4. As @ymip says the first half performance was pretty rotten. We tried to force our way through the middle of the pitch a lot of the time which was pointless as Alloa frequently had nine men behind the ball and were very disciplined defensively and broke with real pace whenever our attacks broke down which was quite often. The likes of Polworth and Chalmers tried to force balls through to White or Doran / MacDonald cutting in from the flanks but they never found their man. Our best chance probably came when Doran chipped a ball in from the left flank but it evaded White and MacDonald. Prior to this Alloa had taken the lead from the penalty spot when Donaldson bundled over Zanatta and Trouten easily found the net sending MacKay the wrong way. We were lucky to just be one down at the break but Robbo shuffled the pack taking Polworth and MacDonald off for Austin and McCauley and going two up front with Austin slightly withdrawn off White. With this change we were a lot better and started to find a bit of space in wide areas to send a few decent crosses in which Alloa struggled to deal with at times. A Rooney header at the back post was a sign of things to come as Alloa started to struggle with our balls in from the flanks. Chalmers found himself with a bit of time on the left side to loft the ball into the area which Alloa only partially cleared and Rooney strode on to the loose ball to blast in the equaliser. White almost bagged a second goal moments later but Parry was equal to his effort. However we weren't to be denied with Chalmers again the provider. A low corner was hooked into the box by Chalmers and Trafford arrived at the near post to flick the ball into the net. Alloa nearly drew level late on when MacKay spilled a long range effort but was alert to get up and fist the loose ball away before any of the home teams players could seize on the opportunity. There then came a penalty appeal when Graham (?) fell over under pressure from McCart who was clearly incensed and his anger set off a bit of a stramash between the sides but ended with McCart going into the book. Fortunately we hung on. Not our finest performance of the season but it could be a vital win for us. The extra money from 3rd place would be very welcome as Robbo has said already this week. McCart was an absolute stand out for us and a clear MotM. We'll need to improve a lot if we want to progress through the play offs.
  5. Nearly every winger has skinned Rooney this season . We can’t sign them all

We will always be in their shadow when it comes to running the club Yes they have money but with Roy Macgregor he has the best interest in the Club & community we have never had that we have been mismanaged for so long now and never anyone with a clue in charge Our chance to capitalise the club was after the Scottish Cup Win . This season the Title was there for the taking but we blew it months ago you cant win a league with a small squad that's the difference. County players never gave up in games they train hard & well and are most likely coached well where our players get 3 days off a week and post on Instagram pictures of them out drinking (not just a little bit with some ) another area where we have failed. We cant even finish the league and match last years points then we hear the rummours of the players all wanting to leave . We will always be in Their Shadow ....unfortunately !

Completely agree on the above, we are in danger of becoming like the ugly sisters from Glasgow who are more interested in each other. Do we really care that much about County to constantly looking over the bridge, surely the only time we should be interested is just before we play them. Totally agree with Kingsmills as well, possibly we can take a leaf or two from Roy McGregor's book in terms of how he connects with his fans and portrays his club publicly. Let's concentrate on ourselves first and foremost, as if our only aim is to be better than County then we'll never improve or reach where we want to be again.

    That's the spirit!
  9. What we would give to have Paul Ritchie in his prime up front for the plays offs.
  10. As long as someone scores,I'm happy
  11. Good win but we could do with the strikers scoring too....
  12. No shots on target in the first half. I would like to think that is addressed in the second half.
  13. Funny how every other team you can rely on to convert a penalty! We can't even do that right ?
  14. Just a little more consideration would go a long way.

I'm trying to think what games he's started this season and lasted the full 90

Who's this been out drinking ? Name & shame...might explain the tired legs we see on odd occasions.

I agree with the last two posts. We have to forget about County unless we play them, from the games we played them this season apart from the last one they have been poor and didn't look like league winners.............but there you go. Look to the future and we will come good again hopefully very soon!

They bought a team in the summer , had an injury scare so bought half a team in January. If we had an extra couple of players we could have matched them. If Neilson was in from August his signings would have see them give more of a challenge. Ayr were in it for a long time which given their resources was excellent. If only we had a goalscorer, we would have seen a real difference...

Simply buying players dosent win you a title, buying the RIGHT players and training them accordingly does! It was an easy league to win, but all the other teams are guilty of not giving county more competition not the other way around

County signed 10 players in the summer and another 5 in January. Thats why they won the league. Most of their players aren't good enough for the premier and will be freed over the summer...that's what a ruthless and rich chairman gets you. ( also helps to 'connect' with the community ). If it wasn't for the mediocrity of the challenge in the championship then County wouldn't have found it so easy. Expect their co-managers to get the sack in the next 12 months. That's not their shadow, it's just a passing cloud.
  21. Alan Simpson takes it all in his stride. Brilliant!!! ?
  22. Thanks Huisdean, I just thought they would be included in the season ticket as they are not cup games (should have read the small print) might be I was thinking back to the days when we used to get early cup games with the season ticket. There is no point in moaning I will just have to dig deep in my pockets and find some cash I will be attending the home games.
  23. PM could be construed as being to Post Mortem or Prime Minister (not much difference !!). Try and use abbreviations that do not have double meanings.
  24. Punctuation disagreement - Where is Charlie Bannerman when you need him the most ?
  25. By replacing Polworth with Austin?
  26. Suggest cola should start with a capital C and perhaps add a comma after "Cola", remove "and", then subsequent flow may be improved.
  27. As long as he refrains from attacking the coaching staff on matchdays in the dugout in front of the main stand - he will do ok.
