  1. David Cox featured on tv talking about the issues he has faced, which was brave. I’m not privy to what happened tonight but, if true, it shows how cancerous the game can be, with racism only being one issue alongside issues relating to mental health and, I’m sure, many others. Clubs need to act when their players are those making discriminatory comments rather than defiantly showing support. They must know when players are acting wrongly. If they don’t take action, nothing will change. We’ve seen it ourselves this season with Robbo’s issues. If opposition fans turn on him next season about it as they see him as an easy target, action must be taken.

Whoever will be at the helm next season we owe Neil McCaan and Billy Dodds a huge Thank You for getting us to where we are now .They did a great job in the short time they were here . Wishing them All the Best for the future ....Hoping the managers position can be announced soon .
  3. I agree DD and we should credit Devine too. Some questioned us signing him, but he has been the leader at the back and become the mainstay of our defence.
  4. I thought that in the first half we showed a lot of good movement up front giving options for Welsh and Allan They won a lot of possession and rarely wasted it. It was Welsh who played a peach of a pass to MacKay for the opener. When MacKay and Sutherland were subbed we were a lot more static up front and we resorted to balls going square and back too often. Young Lyall looked a talent and it is a shame he hasn't had a bit more game time in his spell here. It was a game we should have won but I guess that with nothing particular at stake, it is inevitable there wasn't quite the edge to the motivation. A draw was a fair result at the end of the day. Just a word on Robbie Deas who put in another excellent performance today. Robbie has been ever present in the team this season. He only turned 21 earlier this year but has put in some mature performances alongside the more experienced Danny Devine. They have formed a solid partnership and it is worth noting that the final table shows that only Champions Hearts have conceded less goals than us. Robbie, as a defender, may not get the accolades that the attacking players get, but he has been a real star for us this season. Well done Robbie!
  5. Wrongly sent off from what I’ve seen, think it was a dive. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. 😃
  6. 12 points would've come in handy.
  7. I have to give credit to the commentary team tonight much improved for the last game which is more than I can say for the streaming service.
  8. Seems there is no Andrew Bannerman (?) on tonight as Ian Auld and Stevie Riley take up the commentary gig for the match,

Well done to them It has been a difficult year for them all.
  10. Couple of things to note from this: - County can no longer claim to be reigning champions - Robbo is the first manager to have won the trophy 3 times
  11. So is our cup half full or half empty?
  12. John Hughes is the very last person I would want managing my club. Thankfully, there is no prospect of it happening.
  13. Season ends in stalemate Inverness opened the scoring early through Daniel Mackay in the sixth minute. We were unable to build on that and Ayr levelled before the break when Aaron Muirhead converted a penalty after Baird went down in the box. Level at the break but Sean Welsh bagged a penalty two minutes into the second half only for United to level again through Josh Todd. No further scoring but results elsewhere meant that Ayr were safe and Dundee jumped above Raith Rovers to finish second. The final game of the season for Inverness saw Ayr United come North looking for a point to keep themselves in the Championship as Morton take on Arbroath in the other crucial game at the bottom. For Inverness, we fell just short of a promotion play-off place and Neil McCann would be in charge for his final game as temporary manager. Aaron Doran was on the bench and Scott Allan played the final game of his loan spell for Inverness CT. Tom Walsh was on the visitors bench with veteran forward Michael Moffat fronting the Ayr side. Scott Allan set the ball rolling as Inverness kicked off towards the South stand. Todorov forced the Ayr keeper to hastily knock the ball wide for an attacking throw in the fifth minute as we looked to get forward and it paid off moments later as Daniel Mackay got on the end of a tidy ball into the box from Welsh to slot past Morrison for the opening goal. Not the start the Honest Men were looking for. Ayr got their first corner in the twelfth minute and from the return ball back into the box it almost bounced straight into the net, however it was knocked out for another corner which offered Michael Moffat an opportunity but he was crowded out at the back post. Midway through the half and the visitors had grown into the game as it became a midfield battle with little goalmouth action. Just after the half hour Todorov got his head on a deep cross from Carson but it was too tight an angle to worry Ayr too much and the danger was cleared. Penalty to Ayr seven minutes before the break as Baird went down in the box under some flailing legs, Deas or possibly Carson as he was raging. Despite some serious protests and a booking for Carson, Muirhead buried the ball low into the net. Last action of the half saw Todorov volley a difficult chance over the bar after a great ball through from Allan. Half Time: 1-1 Inverness got a penalty of their own when MacGregor was sent tumbling in the box. Up stepped MotM Sean Welsh to comfortably score to restore our advantage. We almost threw the lead away a minute later as a short pass back put Ridgers in trouble but Ayr were unable to take full advantage and we eventually mopped up. Scott Allan was setting up players at will, but nobody had the clinical finish to put the gloss on the moves. Shane Sutherland was one who received a great ball but he shot over from a great position after cutting inside. That was his last involvement as he was replaced by Arran Lyall. Inverness paid for their profligacy as Ayr equalised again, this time through Josh Todd who drilled through a ruck of legs into the net. A couple of late corners ended with a header from Danny Devine flashing across the visitors goal, but out for a goal kick. A bit of a mix-up in the Ayr box let Ayr off the hook as two Caley-Jags players left the ball for each other after Arran Lyall had created the chance. Ayr saw out the game with neither side trying too hard to win all three points. Full Time 2-2 Surprise surprise, the final game of the season petered out to a 2-2 draw which suited Ayr United as Morton failed to win at Arbroath, which means Ayr stay in the Championship and Morton go into the relegation play off to fight for their survival. A drab affair, typical end of season maybe with Inverness unable to shake off Ayr United overall and a point apiece was just about right. Best on the night was Sean Welsh. That's all from us folks, enjoy the break and see you for the start of the new season More reaction to follow... Well said izzy they have both done a good job for us and raised the profile of our club a bit which is a good thing.
  15. I’m sorry but I feel ever so let down. ICT could have gone out on a high but, no, just again an uninspiring draw. Now we have to wait nearly three months before another game and, even then will we be allowed to be actually there. The lockdown is easing, I felt so safe at the Stadium last December when allowed to see the game, so why couldn’t we have been there tonight? It could have made a difference to the performance. The easing of lockdown seems to be aimed at pubs etc instead of fans wanting to see our teams. Sorry, on hindsight, maybe I should be sending this to the Scottish Government and not this forum but I just wanted to vent my spleen as the saying goes. Sorry again. Don’t castigate this old fan.
  16. Speaks volumes. 12 draws and if we'd won half of those games we'd have finished second.
  17. Nothing at stake for us and it showed, particularly in the second half. Looking back, we had 12 points in our first 9 games and we ended with 36 points from the 27 games. That sums it up. Inconsistent, but we dealt with a lot and ended up better than we expected two months ago. And it blew my chances on Gringo’s NPL big style! Lets put it behind us and look forward to next season. What do we do for the next 71 days??
  18. Why did they both leave it? Just needed someone to hit it and we’d have scored after great play by Lyall. Lyall could be worth another loan move next season. MacGregor booked. Ayr have parked the bus in the last few minutes and we can’t break them down.
  19. We are looking like a team that is safe. This is a game we should be winning comfortably, but with nothing at stake for us, we are not firing on all cylinders. Could still go either way, but as Ayr are safe with a draw, it may peter out in the last few minutes. Welsh commentators’ man of the match. I agree with that.
  20. Storey’s last appearance? Replacing Toddy who I hope signs a new contract.
  21. Looked like MacGregor who scored to me...
  22. Oh for a stream with replays!
  23. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but no a good commentator.
  24. Great pity we can't get more noise from the pitch, It's all very surreal. Sounds like two blokes in my living room talking about the game with the sound down.

Players POTY was a tie between Allardice and Todorov, with Dan Mackay getting the young award.

Winners announced. Carson was supporters POTY, with Dan Mackay getting the “Young” award and goal of the season.
  27. I don’t think he’ll be putting it on his CV. Billy Dodds on the other hand..... 😃
  28. Players from both last season and this one are busily checking their bonus clauses!
  29. Well, half a trophy is better than nothing
  30. Yes, that was not lost on me either, but the more clubs or people who participate the more they can be shamed into getting their own house in order and not just paying lip service to it.
  31. The ******* irony of that. "We need to unite against racism"...meanwhile a player that was racially abused ALMOST TWO MONTHS AGO is being left in the dark. I fully back what they're getting at, but when they're taking the moral high ground on this but doing seemingly nothing when it actually happens is a joke
  32. She’d probably do a better job of getting justice for Toddy than the SFA!!!
  33. When did it get some ?
  34. I'm not going to lie, but with the SPFL being more concerned about Neil kicking off and East Fife refusing to play due to COVID cases rather than racist, and recent ableist (I think it was anyway, in tonight's Stenny game) abuse is surely the biggest call to arms among fans across the country there can ever be. They've gone out of their way to fine East Fife £11,000 because they, rightly, refused to play due to a positive Covid case in the Clyde squad, and clearly, in the reply above, punishing Neil for a touchline strop. The SPFL is corrupt to the core, and as we've seen down south, an army of fans can force change. I might sound delusional, but when we're talking about the integrity of the league, it's more than warranted to protest against Doncaster and his cronies.
  35. That would just be a storm in a teacake.
  36. I think the high turnover has played a big part, especially with a small squad. However we seem to have the nucleus of a really decent team, with three youngsters coming on strongly (Daniel in particular). One or two players like Toddy need to be signed up for next season, and one of either McHattie or Brad (because retaining players with known strengths/weaknesses is probably easier than searching for new). We need a decent winger signed, then we decide on either Aaron or Miles to be retained Not getting into the promotion play-offs is a blow, but would be a huge ask to go all the way, from 3rd/4th place.....If we are going to get out of this league I think we need to win it. Can we finish the season playing the long delayed Challenge Cup final [ideally after Raith have had a knackering and unsuccessful play-off campaign]? Given that we had quite a few injuries, then lots of game cancellations, Managerial issues and we were looking over our shoulder at one stage at possible relegation play-offs, I am pretty satisfied as I think we have a proper springboard for next season. I have enjoyed our season much more than my other team Palace's [which has redined the meanings of dire and under-performing]. Given the backdrop of a horrible year because of the pandemic, I'm really excited at the prospect of seeing Caley live again next season. I just wonder who our manager will be.
  37. If only we could have played Raith and Arbroath every week. Strange how we took seven points off a team in second place and only two of a team sitting bottom. P W D L F A Pts Alloa Athletic 3 0 2 1 4 5 2 Arbroath 3 2 1 0 5 2 7 Ayr Utd 2 1 1 0 3 1 4 Dundee 3 0 2 1 4 5 2 Dunfermline 3 1 1 1 3 4 4 Hearts 3 0 1 2 2 6 1 Morton 3 1 1 1 6 4 4 Raith Rovers 3 2 1 0 3 0 7 Queen of the South 3 1 1 1 4 2 4
  38. And 12 points dropped from a winning position as well.
  39. Conceding the lead, not once but twice, sums up our season in a nutshell. There are all sorts of reasons why I am glad that this very odd season is now concluded. That said, for no logical reason, I find myself both optimistic and enthusiastic about the season to come.
  40. Pysh season faded away to nothing... Oh a share of a cup??? and a great win in Dungwell.. apart from that mostly pysh. I'm glad it's over and we need to clear dead wood from the team.
  41. Neil McCann doing a philosophy degree. one question...why? 😛
  42. Not if they are aware what happened last time he was here
  43. Was a suggestion for if Robbo leaves and Neil doesn't want to take over. He's likely to be sacked by Uncle Roy come the end of the season anyway, and the we will probably take him back on board thinking he can take us to glory again. Was simply throwing my hat in the ring with a possible contender, and wasn't suggesting we sign him right now this second. A (soon to be, potentially) managerless club and a managerial legend for the same club, would be too good to turn down in the eyes of the board...
