  1. Remember the young team have watched green street and as a result think they are some sort of wannabe ultras. We have plenty previous of this type of behaviour they need named and shamed and banned. It should not happen to any player regardless of ability but Billy Mackay is a true ICT legend he gives his all and he has done so every time he has pulled on the jersey so to do this to his son is deplorable. 2. If you are saying we should live within our means then you are effectively saying we should have gone part time years ago after getting relegated and we would likely have been relegated again by now. Can you confirm that if we had, you’d be applauding the board for their financial prudence?! Instead, they tried to get us back to the top flight by maintaining a very competitive (expensive) squad and our impressive youth set up, and got close to promotion a couple of times. In doing so the club racked up huge losses every season and some generous individuals dug deep into their own pockets to keep us going. They have said for years this business model doesn’t work and needs supplemented by non-football income so they pursued concerts and, very innovatively, the battery farm. It’s easy to criticise, especially when we are in such a poor position both financially and in the league, and mistakes have been made, but what specifically should have been done different that would make a 7 figure difference to us now? Should’ve slashed the wage bill, giving up on Premiership aspirations? Go part time, and end up as a League 1 side? Should’ve shut down the youth set up? Should not have loaned us their own money to keep us going? Should not have sought non-football income sources? Those are the only realistic options I can think of. Rather than criticise all the time I just try putting myself in their position and wonder what in terms of the business model I would have done differently over the years. It’s not easy.

  3. Fully agree - I'd like to see a lot more of our own home-grown players given a chance in the first team.

  5. I’m sure whoever gave abuse to Billy’s son was overheard and should be reported to the Club for appropriate action. There seems an element in our support who think it’s funny to abuse players by singing about their families - Liam Polworth had to suffer such abuse for years. I’m fair pleased he has had lots success in the Premier League, away from our lowlifes.

  6. Considering how much the Tories have abused people in the UK I couldn't care less. Not even remotely in the ball park of an innocent child being harassed because his dad kicked a ball wrong.

  7. It is not the council who have put the club in this situation, it is one entirely of their own making. The club should never have put itself in a position where they are relying on some grand scheme to pay the bills and spending money they don't have to feed their egos. The worst thing is that Scot Gardiner has history on this front, and we were well warned.

  8. Yep, On reflection and bearing in mind that it was a pretty make shift side we did no bad! Pity about Billy's pysh penalty where he did it all wrong, As we said for most of the game that 1 goal would probably been enough for 3 points. Alex Samuel did a power of work but didn't see a lot of support for him, Duffy did ok considering he's no trained for weeks, And i'm thinking Savage is looking fine in defence where he reads the game pretty well. As for Devine's heading ability.. ouch! Even Carragher had a good chance with a header blasted well wide, So onto Morton game, I think it will go one of two ways, First is a bit of a mauling where that useless dumpling for us and goal merchant for them will score a couple for a big win. Or.. we play our hearts out and snatch a welcome win with Samuel getting a late winner!

  9. If I see anyone abusing our players or their family I will in the first instance report them. In the second instance, having just come out of the Royal Marines after 22 years, will slap you silly. There is no place in our club for lowlifes.

  12. And Samuel certainly put himself about, I sat next to two guys who had come up from Manchester [not ICT fans, just Ground hopping] and they felt he was perhaps MOTM for effort, really frustrating that Mckay had his penalty saved [he has form]. I thought Kerr looked at ease in midfield [looks like he will have to stand in for Gilmour for a while] as did McAllister [although he turned into people a few times]. Savage won lots of headers, but seems short of pace. Harper was pretty good down the left, and was found often with long balls cross field. As for Devine he had monster game in defence and three headers over the bar from our corners [good that he got to them, less good that he was off target each time. Shaw should really be on a wing full time IMV Good news that we have Anderson back next match, kinda think we were a bit quick to let Bray go out on loan A real kick in the teeth that Cillian Sheridan scored one and made two for Queens Park last night...mad that Dundee United lost at home, and Partick not showing good form at all, both results benefitting our immediate rivals Now that Austin Samuels is finally fit, could he give us half a dozen 'purple patch' games My gut feeling is we will be safe....but it wont be comfortable It was a quick trip up for me, I was on the 6:35 out of Inverness Airport this morning, next Dundee United away!

  13. Not a comfortable position to be in! Personally, I think the locating of the battery storage is wrong and I'm angry that we're in a position where my thoughts on that will be seen (by some) as my somehow wishing bad on the club. All I want is the charlatans gone and for us to get back to being a club with at least some moral fibre. It's not right that a wrong (in my view) has to be done to secure any kind of future for ICTFC. It's not right that Councillors have to make a decision knowing it could be catastrophic for ICTFC. It's not right that this whole sorry affair is driving division among fans.

  14. Presumably done in the hope that planning gets approved so they can get the accounts signed off by the Auditors. It surely confirms how perilous our financial position is, and that the Auditors are unwilling to sign the accounts off as they stand and without confirmation that the Battery Park income will be forthcoming. The future of the club is clearly now squarely in the hands of the 74 Highland Councillors entitled to be at the full Council Meeting. Increasingly worrying times.

  15. As a supporter who has for long shouted, sang and spouted abuse to numerous players and managers over the years this one actually beggars belief. If you have an issue with somebody direct it at them and not their kin. COWARDS who should be identified. I have given him stick in a Tinkerville top but playing in our colours and his undoubted importance this season all he deserves his round after round of appreciatory applause.

  18. I took in the Forres v Huntly game tonight. It was great to see Jack Walker and Sam Nixon playing. Walker was inspirational at the back. Hopefully we had staff there watching these lads. Walker looks like a future captain. Hopefully big Dunc gives these lads from our own youth system a chance

  20. This season is all about survival. We saw some hopeful signs in the first six games after Ferguson came in but we’ve struggled to pick up results since then. We don’t know what remit he was given regarding the January transfer window but clearly the net impact has reduced our wage bill. I think we’ve put too many of our younger players out on loan, as we could do with some of them now, and it would give them good experience. Ethan Cairns has been scoring for fun at Banks O’Dee and, whilst the Championship is a big step up, who’s to say he couldn’t be an impact sun for us? Similarly we were impressed by Keith Bray and Robbie Thompson earlier in the season, and both are playing for League 2 teams just now. They are options we don’t have because of their loans. We again seem to have a disproportionate number of injuries. Some have been sheer bad luck (Samuel’s hand, for example), whereas other players seem very injury prone. Last night, Duffy, Shaw and Samuel had all been doubts, so may not have been fully fit. Shaw didn’t last the whole game and it looked like Duffy would need to come off after picking up a bad knock before half time. At times we play well and are very competitive, but we tend to lack a cutting edge. What I will say is that when we do score, there seems to be a good camaraderie between the players, whether signed or on loan. Lets be realistic, we cannot afford to part with Ferguson, unless he himself wants to move on. Whilst I’m worried about how this season will end (both on and off the park), I feel we should get behind Ferguson and the players, and do our bit to ensure we finish no worse than 8th. It was sickening to read that some “fans” turned on Billy Mckay and his son last night. Yes he had a poor penalty saved, but he has been immense for the club over many years and does not deserve to be on the receiving end of abuse. Those involved should be ashamed of themselves. Whatever happens over the next 10 weeks or so, there is a major rebuild needed in the summer and potentially a chance for some of our promising youngsters to step up and become important players for us. Lewis Nicolson will hopefully be fit for pre-season and ready to slot in at left back or left wing back, allowing Cammy Harper (if we still have him) to move into midfield. Bray, Cairns, Thompson, Jack Walker and others may be ready to step up. Who knows, we may even get MacGregor fit. I’m told our Under 18 squad is good so we need to develop our youngsters and hopefully get some transfer income for some in the years to come.

  21. If the clubs financial situation is this bad and the survival off the club purely relies on the battery project getting the green light then the club surely needs to be transparent with everyone and ask for help from the fans and the community.

  22. I can’t see that it would directly do so but (and this is only a guess on my part) if planning permission were to be granted on March 14th, then might that positively influence any “Going Concern” statement within any accounts issued after that date? Perhaps, as an Edit, I should add that the club’s “Going Concern” status has been a significant issue at at least one recent AGM.

  23. Exactly this. I'm not going to repost my comments over the last few days but its clear so many fans are failing to see the financial reason for loans and turn over of players or acknowledge where a club with a gate of 2k max sits in the Scottish football hierarchy. Stars aligned once achieving unfathomable success but the chances of that again is slim so we may yet need to go further back both on and off park to build again.

  28. There's a fine line between banter and abuse. By all means give a player stick on the field if a performance isn't up to scratch, or have some banter with opposition players and officials, but, like the players, leave it all on the pitch. Once the game is done, its done. There is no reason to abuse/harass players off the field and especially not when they are with their family and/or children. That is wrong on so many fronts. We seem to manage this a lot with players who give it all for ICT at times ... Russell Duncan, Iain Vigurs, Liam Polworth, now Billy ... Billy is and has been a great servant to the club, and his record speaks for itself. He should not have to post the below tweet.

  29. Around 4pm today, which should have been deadline day for the club’s accounts, a notification appeared on Companies House that IT and C’s accounting period had been shortened by a day to May 30th 2023. This apparently entitles a company to an extension of their deadline for publishing accounts by three months, and is apparently an established device for achieving this.

  30. They have all been out on loan since January and, in many cases, since before Ferguson arrived. I’m all for them getting experience and game time if they would only be fringe players with us, but not when it leaves us short handed like we are at present. Some of them could have been doing us a good turn just now, as I’ve said on the “Ferguson out” thread.

  32. We have form with this the last few years. polworth was getting vicious abuse from some “ fans” , so bad that he started back at them during the match. vigurs got it when playing for other teams last season I had a couple of mature “gentlemen” a few rows in front of me in the north stand giving Douglas Ross mp/ msp abuse . He was main stand linesman that day and they started on him every time he came down the line towards the corner flag shouting from the right side of north stand. Some others were having a laugh at the abuse but it wasn’t what our young fans should be hearing from guys old enough be their grandad. I used to hear over the tannoy that anyone blah blah blah will be removed from the ground and the police may be involved. Remind me why we have a security team at games?

  35. The core issue is that the club has been mismanaged off field to the worrying extent that our mere existence is at risk. I suspect that Dunc was CEO showboating and always short term in nature or basically deflect the fan attention to the footballing aspect and allow the real clowns to feck things up. Feels like we are on a Traitor type game and the majority of the fan contestants have been duped and can't recognise who they are. Can you not imagine them in the turret laughing at us and planning more self-preservation plans.

  36. The last AGM was on 26th April 2023, and it was more than four months in default of the deadline stated in the company’s Articles of Association. This also means that there is no obligation to hold another one before 26th July 2024, and even that may be subject to further delay if there is another default.

  37. In modern day language if someone condones abuse does that make them complicit?

  38. It's clear the Jan remit was to reduce playing costs, where experienced and high earning players along with those not contributing were punted. Bring in youth from down south on loan from bigger clubs where we are unlikely to pay much if any towards wages. Dunc may well be a scapegoat here and the signings may be more a case of what we can get rather than what we really needed. Who and where are fans expecting quality and experience to come from when the club aren't able to spend the funds to match? We haven't missed out on quality players as its clear we were never approaching any. As for playing the loan players, it would not be a shock if the deals and lack of contributing financially means parent clubs have made the call they need to play or it costs (more).
