Oh it felt fantastic to see our team in action again. Pretty much agree with all that has been said - it is going to be a sharp learning curve for the young uns to toughen up for what comes next, but I felt so proud of them all and excited for them starting out on their careers. Good luck to them all. Lewis Nicolson was at the game - I don't think he is too far away from coming back now. Well done ICT.
  2. No happy about that if true about Ujdur. I thought he was the new Bobby Mann when he arrived. Great player.🤬

It was nice being back at a game and good to see 11 local youngsters involved. At first I thought we were going with a back 4 but it quickly became clear it was a back 3/5 with Bray and Strachan the wing backs. Davidson was played in central midfield with Longstaff on his right and Thompson on his left. I agree with tm4tj’s assessment. The wind messed things up a bit in the first half, which was even with Clach having more chances, despite us bossing possession. It was reminiscent of last season, plenty of possession but no cutting edge, no one left up when defending a corner and Mckay dropping very deep. We pretty much bossed the second half and both goals were well taken. I’d pick out a couple more players to those mentioned already. I thought Davidson was very comfortable in midfield, and Strachan had a good game at left wing back. Too early to draw any conclusions, but it felt good to be back at a game.

Clach 0-2 Inverness CT Brooks (57), Calum Mackay (83) Low key pre-season game with Inverness shading it with two second half goals. Adam Brooks after 57 minutes when he ran onto a through ball to guide it into the bottom corner and a well worked goal manufactured by Ethan Cairns and Ben Corner before Calum Mackay lashed his feed high into the net from twelve yards for an emphatic finish after 83 minutes. Poor first half played out on a lush pitch which would have slowed the ball up and a stiff breeze affecting play as well. Nobody really caught the eye although Longstaff and Thompson looked the most likely for us with Clach having their share of the ball, but clear chances were at a premium. Same pattern in the second half with Ethan Cairns prominent and Calum Mackay the pick of the players. Clach did squander one glaring opportunity with a fresh air swipe and another couple of half chances. Josh Meekings played at the back for them, a great player for us a couple of stone ago. Difficult to judge anything on a breezy chilly afternoon and the grass needing another notch down on the mower with players getting their first outing. Everyone got on the pitch at some stage. Gilmour and Ujdur out as a precaution I'm told, and Lewis Nicolson in attendance but not stripped. Shae Keogh came off injured late in game. STARTING XI: 1. Jack Newman (GK) 2. Jack Walker 3. Matthew Strachan 4. Danny Devine 5. Remi Savage 6. Jake Davidson 7. Keith Bray 8. Luis Longstaff 9. Billy Mckay 10. Adam Brooks 11. Robbie Thompson ICT Subs: 13. Szymon Rebilas (GK) 12. Calum MacKay 14. Ethan Cairns 15. Cameron Ferguson 16. Calum MacLeod 17. Sam Nixon 18. Shae Keogh 19. Ben Corner

He could play in goal too...

If we needed a GK coach surely it would have made sense to offer something to Mark Ridgers. A developmental move into coaching while still playing with us.

Well worthy of his own thread here. A club legend indeed.
  8. 2 points
Thought he deserved his own thread now that he has been issued his P45 as well. Another club legend treated very poorly - thank you for your service, Mr. Esson.

He’s a bit heavier and slower, but strolled through the hour or so that he played for. He was talking the Clach defence and midfield through the game too. He made a couple of heavy challenges on Brooks, but it was all sporting. I should have said earlier that Gilmour was on the pitch before the game going through exercises so hopefully he’s nearly fully fit too.

Just coming oot to play now and getting a wee bit of the old excitement back despite myself. C'mon Caley
  11. The deadline was Friday 31st May and as I write, 29 days later, there is still no sign at Companies House. The original deadline was 29th February but a three month extension to 31st May was obtained by the device of a one day alteration to the accounting period. The deadline of this Friday, 5th July, for issuing notice of an AGM is also imminent. The company’s Articles of Association state that there must be no more than 15 months between AGMs and that the notice period is 21 days. The last one was on 26th April 2023 which means that the deadlines for the next are notice by July 5th for a meeting on July 26th. (FYI - the last one was subject to a deadline of 21st December 2022 so was over 4 months late. This means that the company has held just one AGM since September 2021.
  12. If the Club had any decency it would put out a polite statement that encouraged existing ST holders to renew by 2 July to secure a small discount. We can but hope that after today's friendly that some sort of humanity exists within the club and something emerges. There is an element of guilt in not renewing but significantly more anger and distrust. It seems silly that the Club do not want money or that it remarkably is actually about to solve some financial problems. Accounts still over due with suggestion this might be problematic with SPFL Licence.
  13. Raith Rivers........ Are we taking a boat to that one, or are we using HMS Sneck 🚢

Certainly up there with the best and another of our Scottish Cup winners. Thank you Ryan

In this age of oppressed budgets, I wonder if an assistant manager isn’t a luxury we can afford. Most teams have them, but surely using that wage for boots on the field is likely to get better results?? Get the Captain whoever they are to take training and do the duties maybe. Others on here will know more about if it’s possible I’m sure.
  16. No idea there DD but like yourself and many other supporters of the club we are getting totally pi**ed off with the way we their customers have been treated not to mention those employed at the club in a football or support function. The staff are kept in the dark as well. I know they are unable to say who might be involved but a simple press release would help but it seems those involved with the club are incapable of doing so! Not a penny more from me till we hear something positive

Oh agree totally but at the end of the day Dunc is the manager so should carry the can
  18. 2 points
I keep saying it but the way these guys have been treated by the club is a disgrace after so many years service A great goal keeper and coach especially with the youngsters.
  19. Yes, so hopefully once Gardiner goes the air of nihilism surrounding the club will lift and people will start backing the Bilbao of the north.
  20. Is that not what everyone's been saying they wanted......so long as they are all local of course?

Savage looked secure at the back. Ferguson looked as slow as a week in the jail but a few nice touches outside the box. Looks the part with his ripped socks. All a bit pedestrian but the team got some minutes in their legs. One concern is a number of the youngsters did look lightweight for the level they're going into. Onwards to Station Park on Tuesday

2 keepers involved in the keeper warm up .. just a young looking lad though
  23. The prices on the club's website are exactly the same as were quoted in the email they sent out to existing ST holders. These prices are early bird prices both for existing ST holders and new ST holders with existing ST holders getting an additional loyalty bonus. There is nothing to say what the prices will be after 2nd July either for ST holders or for individual tickets. It really is unnecessarily unhelpful.

I know. When he was winning the cup with us, we’d all have much more readily believed that in his peak years he would be playing for The Rangers, not Brora Rangers.

Amazing to think how young Josh Meekings still is. Were his injuries so bad that this premier division / cup finalist / former Dundee captain is not good enough for League One? It'll be interesting to find out.
  26. 1 point
Going to watch Josh Meekings. I'm going for noon as I'm sitting in the away dugout. Won't be sub goalie after all as I got my nails done yesterday.
  27. This will also be the same with Lewis Hyde and Roddy Macgregor? Incompetent or what? Also interestingly says agreement not fee...

No disrespect to our other keepers, of which a few have merited legend status, but for me Ryan was the best ICT goalie ever. This is just another brick in the wall.
  29. if the intention is to file electronically then they sould still be okay to be filed right up to the actual deadline as they are date/time stamped by the software. Assuming a third party is submitting them on the clubs behalf then you assume there has been dialogue this week to ensure the submission will take place within the timeline. That said If the club has also gone radio silent with the accountancy firm then they will be in limbo if whatever triggered the extension hasn't now been reconciled.
  30. So that's another week gone with no further update about what is happening at the club. And it is 2 weeks since we were told about "hugely positive discussions with a number of potential investors". I thought it had been mentioned somewhere that the deadline for getting audited accounts to Companies House was 30th June, but seeing as the 30th is on Sunday, the effective deadline would have been today. Can anyone clarify?
  31. He wasn't a local lad either, so maybe we'll be OK.
  32. 1 point
A lot of anger towards Dunc but oddly Bollan seems to get off lightly with our fans. Don't forget he's had previous experience at the lower levels of Scottish football. So he's either just a yes man too afraid to question or too incompetent to support effectively. Either way he needs 'in the bin'
  33. 1 point
In terms of our coaching staff Ryan was a keeper
  34. 1 point
He has shown himself to be neither a good football coach nor a manager. Even on reduced wages he is not worth it. Get him gone!
  35. Bert Trautmann played on in a FA Cup final with a broken neck. I expect nothing less
  36. Excellent fixtures for me, far better than last season. Just checked and only 2 home game clashes with county before the premier split. ( Inverness grandkids , Dingwall grandkids. Sorry Dingwall grandkids get your mother to take you these 2 Saturdays ) only 1 away game clash, so a chance to get on the supporters bus for an away day, BUT, it’s Kelty, couple of miles from the in laws in Dunfermline. 🥳 So weekend away instead.

It will certainly need to change with no goalkeeper to pass back to.
  38. 1 point
We’ve just got to hope that Big Dunc has realised that his tactics + game plan didn’t work and we see a change in style for league 1. We really have to be more ruthless and direct at times.
  39. 0 points
Oh well I take it Big Dunc is sticking to his guns
  40. Forres got a 3 point deduction in the Highland League last season for fielding an under 16. I’d imagine the same rules apply in the leagues. Ferguson also said there may be one or two leave and one or two come in.
  41. Are you even allowed a 15 year old as 2nd keeper?
  42. Apparently Ujdur has been sold to Queens Park.
  43. 0 points
No sign of Nik Ujdur?? Canna be injured, Another decent player out of favour with the big dollop?
  44. I will put this in here two different stories about Cameron Harper. The undisclosed fee the club talked about is nothing!
  45. 0 points
Currently we have a manager, assistant manager, coach ( Scot Kellagher),& Goal keeping coach. I do wonder what value they provide in league 1.All have a cost and all necessary I’m sure ????????🤪??????????
