  1. I wasn't at the game but did notice the stat on the BBC website that we had 13 attempts on goal. They may not have been very effective attempts but it does demonstrate a more positive approach. Last season there were only a handful of games where we had more attempts at goal. Against County our midfield was consistently 2nd to the ball in midfield and it sounds that the same was the case against Hearts. A midfield containing Draper, Tansey, Vigurs and Polworth really should not be out-fought in midfield by any team in this league, Get that sorted, and coupled with the more positive approach we should be creating enough chances to win a lot of games. A lack of cutting edge puts pressure on the defence so perhaps taking an early chance or two will settle the team and get us back on track. We certainly need a little more depth to the squad to provide cover and competition for places, but we should have enough quality to hold our own in this league. Foran had it right when he said he hasn't got the best out of the players yet. I just wonder how much of this is to do with a change in playing style. When Hughes came in and changed things round we changed from being a side which played with confidence to being an absolutely dire, nervy side for some while. Once players got used to the new system and what was expected of them, confidence grew and we got much more assured (if boring) performances. We now have a transition to a very different style again, and that transition is particularly challenging for the midfield who tend to control the pace of the game, and for the wing backs who have a very different role. To be effective, what is required has got to be second nature, and until it is players will appear to be hesitant. For instance, where Hughes may have looked for a midfielder to sit back off a player with the ball, keep shape and make it difficult for the opposition to play through us, Foran may want the player to pressure the guy with the ball further up the park. Not only will players be expected to do things differently, they will be finding team mates are not always where they are used to them being. Adapting to this change in style does not come overnight and is not as easy as it looks. It's a bit like driving in Europe. Yes you can drive OK on the right hand side of the road, but it takes a little while before you can drive as naturally and hesitation free as you do back home. We need to be patient. It will be worth it.

  2. For something that is so unacceptable to you I am staggered that you haven't approached the club directly with your concerns. OCG hasn't said anything that I can see about closing the thread. Instead she, along with others, have advised that to get answers to the questions you have you would be far better placed writing or emailing the club. Whilst people from the club do read this forum they are unlikely to be able to respond to every single question raised on here. Stick it in an email to them and you are much more likely to get an answer than sitting waiting for one to appear here. You say that the situation could have been cleared up very quickly yet seem to have little interest in taking the bull by the horns and contacting the club directly to get answers.

  3. 3 things to note in this thread .... (which also pervades to a few others) It is becoming increasingly nasty with the personal digs at each other. that stops now or the thread gets closed. end of. I dont want to do that as its an interesting and valid thread and I have my own opinion which I have also posted as it relates to the topic, but if the personal sh** continues then I have no option and it will be the fault of those doing the stirring. This is a fans' forum, and but for a 5 year spell in its 22 year existence when it was deemed the club's official site, it is, and has been independently run by myself and various moderators with no direction or managerial input or control from the club. With the exception of that five year period mentioned, it has never been an official channel to reach or receive an answer from the club on any issue even if they have chosen to respond on many occasions. The club DO read the site and DO respond to things on here when appropriate but thats really for fans convenience rather than it being an official response. the official channels are through their own website, through contacting them via email/telephone/letter, or by bringing issues to the attention of the supporters trust who can bring that to the club too. We have an excellent working relationship with all levels of the club that allows us to collaborate with them on various initiatives and partnerships and because of this they have often passed out more information than other clubs might through the site. I wasnt going to mention this as its my own personal observation and kind of annoys me, but it seems appropriate in this thread to note that there's a fair few, increasingly frequent, veiled (and open) digs at CaleyD who gets it in the neck almost daily because he not only has a position at the club, but also has his role on here as co-owner of our design and hosting company, and his former role as site administrator for CTO that was relinquished when he started doing more work at the stadium. Seems he cant do anything right in some folks eyes and honestly, thats a piece of bullshit too. He provides info, he's being a happy clapper, or a conduit for propoganda. He says nothing and he's accused of some nefarious scheming. It would be quite simple for him to stop posting altogether, but again, because of personal friendships with myself and the site, and his own desire to pass as much info as is deemed in the public domain to the fans he posts it here despite all the crap flung his way. Do I agree with him on everything ? HELL NO !! We have our own disagreements over many issues and I even kicked him off the site for a while a few years ago, but unlike some, we seem to be able to agree to disagree and move on with other subjects .... Bottom line - if you are waiting for a response on this issue from the club on here then please dont hold your breath .... you are likely to get a new shirt from JD Sports before that happens and we all know how long that takes ! If you want a response then I would agree with OCG who suggests writing to the club (or email if you prefer) and asking the question directly. For those of us that are shareholders then I am sure it may also be something that is raised at the next AGM if a satisfactory answer has not been forthcoming before then .....

  4. I suggest you go back and read Scotty's helpful post again. He is the guy who runs this excellent site and if he says this is not the appropriate route to elicit a response from the club, that's good enough for me. Personally, I am not expressing any view on the change to the badge but I respect your right to feel very strongly about it and agree that you have a right to expect a response from the club regarding your concerns. What I fail to understand is why you seem unwilling to do the one thing which you can reasonably expect will get a response from the club; contact them directly. Clearly you feel others ought to feel strongly about the club's decision on the badge, and it may well be that if others knew the answers to the questions you have asked they would be more inclined to support your views on the matter. If you want others to support you on this you need to get answers to your questions and, if those answers do not satisfy you, use the information in those answers to make an argument why the rest of us should also be concerned. Do that, and I might support you at the AGM. At the moment though, my position is this:- Do I think the Board should have consulted more widely regarding the change? Yes Am I bothered that they didn't? No. If you want others to support you, the ball is firmly in your court.

  5. My two cents - Jamar Loza looks fairly quick and direct, more of a Miles Storey/Billy Mckay type. His goal was a bit lucky though. Not as good as El Alagui. Gavin Gunning - Seemed to ball at everyone constantly and not always in a positive manner. That, compared to his injury proneness and general odd behaviour means I would shed no tears if we didn't offer him a deal.

  6. That's the way to do it! There is no point waiting till the AGM. Writing directly to the club should elicit a response which can then be communicated more widely on this forum if you feel it appropriate. If anybody is not satisfied with the response then they can still take it to the AGM, in which case there can be an informed debate based on the response previously received, communicated and, no doubt, debated on this forum. Further to what others have said, I see absolutely no reason why the club would respond on this forum to the concerns raised in this thread. Apart from the fact that it is not the appropriate channel, it seems pretty clear that it is just a very small minority of people who feel strongly on the issue. People criticise the club for lack of communication but the club is actually very open with regard to personal contact. I speak from personal experience having previously had a meeting with the Chairman over concerns I had a while ago.The Chairman was remarkably open on the issue in question and pro-actively asked me my views on other matters as well. The difficulty was not getting into the chairman's office, it was getting out! Bottom line is that this forum is for having a general discussion about things. That includes having a good old moan about this and that from time to time. But if you really feel strongly about something and feel something needs done, then you need to take the bull by the horns and contact the club direct.

  7. Not at all but going over the same thing over and over is tedious....sorry Also do you actually just want a moan or do you want something done about it?

  9. Good suggestion. How about Copa Football? They do wicked retro shirts: http://www.copafootball.com/en/classic-retro-football-shirts I'd also like to see the club link up with a Highland company to sell cashmere scarves. A company called Savile Rogue sell cashmere ICTFC scarves - surely an opportunity here for the commercial department of our club to do a deal? http://www.savile-rogue.com/scotland-premier-league-c3/inverness-ct-c163

  10. I think Johnson's of Elgin are probably the nearest company who could make it from scratch and be on schedule. How many do you think we could sell and at what price. I would rather we sell Caley Thistle childrens car sun screens. A mobile advert which starts off an interest at a young age.

  11. Copa Football are keen. Would be great for club and fans alike to tie up a deal with them.

  12. So one posters escalating the issue at the AGM another is awaiting a reply. We all have different views. Even if the club had changed the crest to a vertical turd with 2 antlers coming out of it then it's still our club and out team that we collectively support and I think we can all agree on that.

  17. Can ictfcsince1994 confirm if there is any money in the budget to sign Gunning?

  18. I seriously believe he would not have been a good signing, injury prone and getting too old. Fair enough if he was cheap as chips, but I doubt he was

  21. The new manager is still finding his feet with regard to what and how much to share with the media and fans and when. I have no doubt that he and others are working hard to bring in players to improve both the starting XI and the squad. Give him a break.

  22. Here's an example.... Shop 1 I am a shop owner. I have two members of staff who are paid £1,000 a month. The average wage for my employees is £1,000 a month. My total wage bill per month is £2,000 a month. Shop 2 I am a shop owner. I have five members of staff who are paid £750 a month. The average wage for my employees is £750 a month. My total wage bill is £3,750 a month. Shop 1 pays a higher average wage but Shop 2 has a bigger wage budget. This is why we can't infer too much on playing budgets from a table based on averages. As HtG says you could perhaps speculate that on average Team A pays more than Team B but if the latter has about 10 more players than the former then you don't know who has the bigger budget overall.

  24. so much for 'engaging with fans' more. i know its hard enough to get people to a game at the TCS on a saturday afternoon, but some of us would happily watch the unders/reserves if local enough to get to.

  27. Where has the manager said he was signing players and then they've not appeared? He's said that he'd hoped to get signings done...which he's then said fell through. At the weekend, he said he'd hoped to get players in (to look at) this week with a view to signing, but never heard him say we'd definitely be signing anyone. I've not looked at coverage from the weekend, so it may be that has not been accurately reported.

  28. I think folk have unreal expectations about what our small media dept can do sometimes. These games were advertised on social media as some point as I saw them. I know that wont suit everyone but like in most areas resources do not allow for more extensive coverage.

  29. Mulraney best player on the park for me, every time he got the ball he was direct and had their left-back toiling. Meekings looked decent but hard to give anyone at the back pass marks. Other than that Draper did OK and Fisher had a decent strike with the OH kick.

  30. Thanks for your opinion RIG but as I have already said, I will ask the question at the next AGM. That will give the attending shareholders the opportunity to comment on why our badge has been changed..

  33. Thanks for your views Scotty parts of which I agree with and parts I don't. I still feel it would be a very simple task to answer the 2 questions but because there has been no answer I can only assume that this version of the new badge has been created by probably a couple of people for no valid reason. This is totally unacceptable to me and I hope to many other shareholders and long standing supporters of this club. Old Caley girl obviously wants the thread closed so if and answer is not forthcoming within the next 48 hours I will gladly take the matter up at the next AGM. IMO this subject could have been cleared up very quickly but those responsible obviously don't have the footballs to admit to their actions.

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.
