I don't condone the 'scuffles' that took place. They were childish, immature and frankly embarrassing. From the footage I have seen, powder puff handbags at dawn stuff by daft laddies. I do wonder whether Police Scotland should be directing their somewhat stretched resources elsewhere.4 points

No, it tells you that Chick Young is a complete roaster, but you probably knew that anyway. Now have you heard the one about Charles mixing up a team from Annan with one from Midlothian2 points

it was an unfortunate and untimely bounce of the ball. nothing to do with OFW or Vigz....although its not at all surprising that some on here continue to victimise the lad! FWIW...WE ACTUALLY WON, GUYS!!!!! ffs!!!2 points

Agreed and the fact that the rules on the tournament permit the use of two goalkeepers and to allow the fans to assist by pulling down their players in the box when playing in Glasgow against Celtic is an added bonus.2 points

Here here. Let's remember we are the only team in Scotland to take points off them.1 point

If we are going to stay up we will need a solid defence and clean sheets. Makeshift line ups just aren't going to cut it, even if it just for a month. Need to bring in a commanding central defender for the rest of the season, one who is better than the ones we currently have available. Will cost, I know, but relegation will cost more.1 point

We played a back four all game. Polworth was at right back.1 point

I have a strong suspicion this will me moved to the Sunday midday. Pretty annoyed at punters on here writing off our chances. It's celtic we're playing, not Barcelona.1 point

Some contrasting injury news today................ On the plus side However1 point

i watched him pre-season, and thought he was promising. but since his fortunes have foundered, i see him looking less interested and sluggish and stroppy. watched him in a development game, when i was shouting for him to get a chance in the first team as a seconf striker, but he again displayed the same characteristics - stooped shoulders, head down, giving up on (possibly not lost, afterall) causes, unhappy when ball isnt exactly where he wants it. in pre-match warm-ups looks the same as well, reminds me of a teenager who is somewhere he doesn't want to be. this may not be the case at all, it could just be a body language thing that i'm reading completely wrong, but that's the impression i get from him. and it was visable throughout Saturday's game.1 point

or you could just use the main menu above and navigate to TEAM > FIXTURES which will take you here : http://caleythistleonline.com/team/fixtures.html/ where - for the last 10+ years - we normally have the lineups and match stats, including crowd figure when released, within a few minutes of the game being over. ...1 point

Having watched the highlights it looks as though Doumbouya lifted his foot out of the way to let the ball through. He may got a slight touch which might have affected the path of the ball. He looks more to blame than Fon Williams. In any case, once a free kick is played short surely the players in the wall should be rushing forward to block. Interesting to note that in all 3 of Doumbouya's opportunities shown, it was Doran who provided a very precise ball into him. Doran does not seem to have recovered the pace he had prior to his long term injury, but he has real vision and is still going to be a key player for us for the rest of the season. I think we will create a lot of chances if we play with Cole and Doran in the side.1 point

The point of a wall is to block shots below head height on one side of the goal (near-post). Only a curler of Roberto Carlos proportions should be able to bend into the near post bottom corner. Granted, the ball was shifted a couple of feet in the free kick routine, but the shot had virtually no bend on it and was still a yard inside the near post - watch the BBC highlights, the angle is perfect to see this. So, a wall won't prevent a bobble, but should stop it ever getting near the goal if mis-hit towards the near post.1 point

his link-up play was good, yes, but its his attitude, or apparent attitude that annoys me. he comes across as a petulant child1 point

The 'Dug' was a far better proposition to score ahead of Boden....................1 point

I was disappointed when I herd the draw but after a bit of thought and as others have said the club will make a lot of money out of this tie and we always raise our game against Celtic1 point

I doubt that very much. A cup visit to Parkhead would have been your club's biggest match this century whereas such trips are routine for us at least twice a season. The cash generated is a welcome wee windfall for us which might enable us to recruit one additional player whereas that sum would transform your finances for this season and next. An indication of how far we've come and how far you haven't.1 point

We beat the Staigo 8-4 in the domino match in the Ionic Bar. Their captain threw the board on the floor when he was beaten. Shocking scenes.1 point

Currently 31 out of 32 votes have gone to the excellent Cole for MotM. In the other vote, Vigurs must have a login for CTO and voted for himself1 point

Disagree with some of the posts above - we bossed long spells in the game and could have won by a few. Elgin only had very few chances...although they v nearly equalised at the death! Cole was absolutely outstanding today - everything dangerous went through him and he also did defensive duties. Defence was solid - Polworth did OK in an unfamiliar position, but got megged a couple of times. Vigurs was frustrating as ever: Guilty for the goal, great free kick off the bar, decent spells and lazy spells. Boden is nowhere near it - even against lower league opposition, he looked dreadful. Anier shoild have started. Banana skin avoided!1 point

Can't agree with previous post. Doumbaya may have scored, but guilty of missing 2 gilt edged chances prior to scoring. He was ineffective and any headers he wins, he has no control or no idea where ball is going. Boden held up ball well IMO and brought others into game, but he provided little in way of goal threat. Overall I was disappointed in the performance, and didn't see any reason to be optimistic for the coming weeks. On another note, the young lads can provide fantastic vocal backing for the team and am generally all for them, but please stop with the flares, and the need to run 50 yards to a segregation fence for a bit of posturing. We as a club are better than that and don't need that kind of behaviour.1 point

Disgraceful with the silly tussle at the underpass embarrasing for us and you lot but looks like theyll have to chase them down at school by looks of it0 points

I still rate OFW despite him not being in the best of form just now and I appreciate that you feel it your role to defend and talk up the club and it's employees. However, to say that no 'keeper could have reacted to save that poorly executed shot is just ridiculous. The sun may or may not have been in his eyes but it was a clear goalkeeping error. In the end we recovered from that early reverse and won more comfortably than the scoreline suggests. No harm done in the end but it does no harm being prepared to acknowledge shortcomings and hopefully learn from them.0 points

Even without the sun...it took a bobble and then bounced over him. Not sure any keeper could have reacted to save it.-1 points

Scarlet... crowd figures in BBC match reports aren't perhaps in the most prominent place. You need to go down to the bottom of the main report and shift the black panel from "Match Stats" to "Line Ups" on the left by clicking on the latter. You will then find the attendance at the very bottom, below the referee's name.-1 points

Maybe you can point me to the bit in the handbook that says you have to be publicly critical or questioning in order to qualify as a fan? I have no issue with you disagreeing with me, but as you've not picked up on others making the same point then it seems that your motivation for comment has more to do with my being involved at the club than any genuine need to express disagreement with my view. In short....you're being a dick.-1 points

Relegation Statement
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.-

Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.-

Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.
Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.-

Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb-

Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.-
