  1. W/regards to Foran - I have no clue and as previous posters have said, we will never know in detail as it is confidential business information. You might be able to jump to a semi-valid conclusion if you pore through next year's accounts and compare staff costs or other categories, but the information is not going to be made public ... never has before and never will be in future .... W/regards to Kenny Cameron : He retired. end of story. no payoff there. To be honest, I am getting quite sick of the attacks on his character in multiple threads. Those that know him know he is a polite, soft-spoken, honest and genuine guy, who always had time to talk to any fans who wander into the stadium and ask for a chat. He is also a man who cares deeply about ICT and its fans (I have watched him go to bat for the 'kids' in the north stand on more than one occasion when he was a director and not yet chairman and those kids were getting hassle from overbearing stewards) and under his stewardship we did maintain our spot in the Premiership (until this year), won the Cup and got into Europe. Did he make a mistake with RF? Yes he did, and with the benefit of hindsight I am sure he would tell you the same thing ... although at the time (almost) everyone seemed happy with the natural progression that fans had talked about for years with Richie foran moving into the manager's chair. He might not be everyone's idea of a 'football man' but he has been around the club for almost as long as it has existed in various roles. He has put far more into it than he has ever taken out (like most current or former directors and chairmen). Did he get a financial benefit from ICT? Depends how you look at it .... the cynical would say yes and damn the details, but to my knowledge he is (or was) not pulling in a wage, but like many who have preceded him (and likely those that follow him) he has claimed reasonable expenses from the club for going about the job of chairman. You want to rip off a football club? or get rich running it? .... then you dont pick a perennial loss making team like ICT where every penny is watched ... and anyone who thinks differently is living in cloud cuckoo land !

  3. Well said....there are a lot of issues at the club, for sure, but sniping about poor decisions made in the past are pointless. Kenny Cameron always struck me as a decent guy who cared about the club & we did have a very sucessful period under his stewardship. Yes, Foran's appointment (and, particularly, the 4 year contract) were a mistake, but hindsight is a great thing!

  4. Absolutely - there is a difference between fans giving the team/manager/officials, etc stick & an employer bullying a member of staff, which is exactly what Jimmy Calderwood appears to have done to Ryan O'Leary. It wouldn't be acceptable in any other workplace, so why should it be in a football club? Anyone who suffered this would have a case for Constructive unfair dismissal! Our manager is, in a lot of ways, the 'face' of the club & I certainly wouldn't want someone like Jimmy Calderwood being the face of ICT.

  5. Just listen to yourself. You sound like the very worst type of 1950s National Service drill sergeant. This is the twenty first century and, thankfully, most of us have a more enlightened attitude even if the likes of you and Jimmy Calderwood do not.

  6. Has this actually been confirmed? I can't for the life of me imagine taking up the job as Chairman of my club, sacking the manager and then swanning off on holiday. We are such a passive fan base, it's arguably the most important period in our clubs history and we're not even sure if our board have started interviewing or not. The league cup starts in under 6 weeks and we have a grand total of 10 first team players, no manager, maybe an assistant manager (still no clue if Rice is still about?), and a vague suspicion our board aren't even in the country. As the fans we should be demanding better communication from the cub, and withholding our money (be it on season tickets, new strips etc.) until we get it.

  7. Sorry for dredging this topic up again but as I have only just returned from our trip to Scotland and Norway I am playing catch-up with all the threads and various comments made ... and this was one thread I wanted to come back to and deliver my own comments. I actually find I dont have to type a huge amount as I echo each and every comment that Davie has made here. Kenny is a man of integrity who had a goal of making ICT better without breaking the bank or bankrupting the club. He put in long hours, mostly for little or no thanks, but at the end of the day he wasnt looking for the plaudits or the pats on the back, he was just looking for ICT to be successful and barring the last season where he put his faith in someone who we all wanted to be successful he has done so. His stewardship of the club has been excellent and the snide or ignorant comments made about him on a personal level by some who don't actually know him or the amount of work he does/did in the background are not only hurtful, but in my opinion close to defamatory. I have witnessed him stand up for our supporters when stewards and police wanted to wade into the North stand because they were standing. I have witnessed him making time for the younger fans and kids. I have heard numerous stories of him being accessible to the fans to the point of sitting down with them for coffee in the stadium or as Davie mentioned, doing the stadium tour ! Heck, look at how he handled that young boy who applied for the manager's job ! Most would just bin the letter, not Kenny, he replied and spoke with the kid ... who will remember that moment I am sure. On my recent visit, I was both gobsmacked and incredibly proud that he asked if my own son would like to be one of the mascots on the last day of the season. My son - who I take to TFC games every once in a while - came to Scotland saying his favourite players were Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco from Toronto FC ... he left Scotland with the top we bought last year all signed, a new one bought from the Errea trailer tucked in his luggage, and a couple of this year's squad pictures from the reception wall of his new favourite players ... David Raven and Jake Mulraney ! My boy was going to be an ICT fan anyway (if I could help it) but Kenny (and the players) made it a trip he will never forget. I have never seen a club like ICT where players, directors, and even the chairman are as accessible as they are at ICT and that ethos comes from the top down. Kenny - I applaud you for who you are and what you have done for ICT over two decades. As Davie says, enjoy your 'retirement', you deserve it.

  8. Agree with all of the above. If the season just past has told us anything, it's that a section of our fans are rather classless. The demonisation of Kenny Cameron was appalling and the chanting from the stands about him was an embarrassment.

  9. The retained ST prices are quite a kick in the gonads after last season's fiasco. Until I get some proper answers from the club about that and what their outlook is for the future I won't be renewing mine.

  10. I think you will find that those who have resorted to personal attacks don't know the man at all. They speak out of ignorance and sheer ingratitude for all the hard work and success prior to one hugely disappointing season.

  11. Would really like to know how much Foran and Cameron walked away with for their 11 months of car crash management. Maybe nothing and they did the honourable thing, but as taken for granted supporters it would be nice to know our Season Ticket money is going direct to the Club and not being used to subsidise pay offs.

  13. That sort of macho, intimidatory style of management did seem to work at one time, but even Ferguson acknowledges that it has had its day - and that can only be a good thing. The Calderwood case is different though - it's a matter of public record that he mocked, humiliated and then ostracised Ryan O'Leary when the player opened up to him about suffering from depression. That's an absolute abuse of his duty of care to his player. I would be very, very unhappy with him becoming our manager.

  14. Who interviewed them don't think Our new Chairman was around and surely a recruitment specialist like our new chairman would be the right guy for that job.

  16. By appointing a manager, a general manager and recruiting a squad - the betfred cup games are only 3 weeks away. More important than focusing on what went on in the past...

  17. Surprised you do not care, all through last season we were told by the majority on here how JH leaving cleared us out financially and was the reason we were struggling with a meagre budget. He was public enemy No 1. Now not a peep, how things change eh .

  18. I don't really care, to be honest! Wouldn't have thought that Kenny Cameron would have had a payoff as he retired & we dud have a great deal if success under his stewardship, despute some recent poor decisions(which I won't go into again..). If Richie Foran received a compensation package, fair enough - he did have a 4 year contract (which wasn't his fault!) & a mortgage to pay/family to support. Anyway, basic employment law would have to be observed - he might not have been a success, but he wadn't guilty of gross misconduct, or sone other sackable offence. Time to move on & look forward!

  26. One player, despite his own issues with depression made so much worse by the unsympathetic and mocking attitude of the person he should be able to turn to for support, is courageous enough to tell the truth and if that has helped put an end to a bullying manager's career then Scottish football is the better for it.
    1 point
  27. A bully and an absolute dinosaur who's techniques and attitudes are years out of date. Anyway, we couldn't afford to keep him in sun bed sessions. No thanks. We need to look forward not backwards and Calderwood would be a huge leap backwards and into the footballing past.

  28. Would love ross back but dont think we can afford him. He competed for places in a good team and didnt let us down . But need a striker first. What about shane s. Hes had first team football and is a wiser head and would do a job in the championship.

  30. At the end of the day, the prices are set at a level the club thinks will maximise revenue. If they lowered the prices and it reduced our overall income by (say) £50,000, that sum would just get knocked off our wage budget for the season, it's as simple as that unfortunately.

  31. For me it's no coincidence that our form suddenly improved on arrival of Malpas, he is clearly respected by players and knows the Scottish game and our club especially inside out, for me there is no better option for manager if he wants it. If he wants to remain in the background then what about Darren Young, has left Albion Rovers and has done a stellar job getting them promoted to League 1 and keeping them there for 2 seasons. Would be someone Malpas could really assist and kick on with.

  32. I think Peter Houston indeed is a solid performer. He certainly had Falkirk jildied up to face ICT in the Scottish cup final. Could be worth a chit chat. Butcher was a traitor who was definitely, in my humble opinion, in close contact with the Hibs Board BEFORE we even knew about it. Then he sat in the stand with their Directors before the plug was even pulled out fully. No thank you. John Hughes ...well he walked out in a huff it seems and his exit was far from non-controversial and did no particular good to ICT. Any future contract would have to include terms for repayment of the extra money he got for non-managing ICT immediately after his departure. ANd a stronger contract put in place between the parties to ensure that that situation did not happen again. Problem is that , generally speaking , a leopard does not change his spots .....eh?

  36. I suppose that Kenny Cameron’s resignation had a ring of inevitability about it after we were finally relegated. It’s a sad way to end a Chairmanship that delivered a degree of success that might never be bettered. Scottish Cup winners, League Cup finalists, Championship winners and UEFA league qualifiers. That’s a hell of an achievement for what, in anyone’s definition, is a relative football backwater. That all of this was done on the back of a small support and an almost complete absence of financial backing makes it even more noteworthy. I’ve read a lot on here in the past couple of days that bears no resemblance to the man that I know. Uncaring? I’ve witnessed the pain when things have gone wrong. Uninvolved? I’ve seen the tears of utter pride and joy at Hampden. Uncommunicative? Time and again I’ve struggled to get a word in edgeways. There’s a tale of someone fetching up at the stadium looking for a “tour” and being shown around by “this old guy”. Time and again he’s chatted to our mascots, patiently explaining about why we couldn’t sign Messi – at least not this week. He didn’t take a salary. This is not a man who didn’t care. As a former Chair of CJT, he helped us achieve things that we could never have done without his support. He was instrumental in getting funding to charter the trains that took our fans to the League Cup Final against Aberdeen. As far as I know, it’s not been repeated. Any initiative for pricing and ticketing, he always involved us. Sticking up for us against the League’s central belt bias? Every time. I know that Kenny was incredibly well regarded by others in the SPFL as someone who was both engaged and genuine and the club benefited from that influence. However, if things go wrong there are fewer more exposed positions to be in than a football Chairman or Manager and when change happens it’s usually sudden, unpredictable and pretty brutal. That’s where we are right now and why there’s been the amount of anger expressed here over the last few weeks and months. Mistakes have undoubtedly been made but now cool heads are required to identify a clear plan to take us back to the Premiership and this year – of all years – it’s achievable. There is no Rangers, Hibs or Hearts to mount a challenge against and the club will rise to the challenge with the support of all of us, including Kenny’s successor. On a personal note, Kenny was a stranger to me when I first met him through the club. I now count him as a friend and I’m a happy boy that we shared experiences from Glasgow to Bucharest. Enjoy your retirement with Christine. You’ve earned it.

  37. Thanks due without doubt but a mixed bag. He steered the ship well and steadily in calm waters taking us to some exotic and exciting shores. Not such a good captain though once the seas got choppy and the first mate mutinied. when he promoted the cabin boy to first mate who then steered us onto the rocks. Nevertheless, I hope he enjoys his retirement I am sure he is as disappointed as any of us to be leaving at such a low ebb and on such a negative note after so many highs under his leadership. However, now the next captain can get on with repairing the hole in the hull and we can embark on the next leg of our glorious journey.

Butcher didn't cover himself in glory when he left but nobody can knock his signing.some are still here and maybe a bit wary about staying but under him I believea lot would stay.he seems to have the ability to get young talented players to come north which other managers don't have.Butcher all the way for me.

  42. Absolutely pathetic. We've got ten outfield players and no manager. We haven't announced anything about players to be released or retained or anything. But we put out a press release saying that we are keeping Premiership prices in the Championship with a line like that in it. We aren't in a position to be arrogant. I understand that we probably need to keep those prices but FFS, at least sugar coat it with some sort of positive announcement.

  43. Astonishing that season ticket prices have been frozen but it possibly backs up the rumours regarding the financial state the club are possibly facing due to relegation 14 miles north you can watch your Celtic,Rangers,Aberdeens etc for £200 but we pay over £330 to see Brechin City Theres something far wrong, only an utter moron would buy a season ticket at the moment at that sort of cost without knowing who the manager and the playing staff were Dougal

  44. This forum is totally unbelievable once again if you don't conform to happy clapping you get personal abuse by the establishment Always amazed how mods seem to turn a blind eye to some of the vitriol that gets directed my way just as well I'm thick skinned I guess and have never used the report function To get accused by fellow fans about my loyalty to ICT by those that freely admit they have big teams or supported other teams in the past just doesn't sit well with me Im not going to name these low life's as I don't want to stoop to their level but I could list screeds of posters on here that fall into that very bracket My point regarding season tickets still holds I think it's crazy buying a ticket at the moment my advice would be to wait nearer the start of the season that way it might just make the board think that unless their mind sets change they should also step down and let foreword thinking people in Dougal

  45. If Mourinhou's so good, how come he gets sacked? Biggest bullies? Alex Ferguson. Jocks' Stein and Wallace. Brian Clough. If it works, it works. Craig Brewster always seemed nice. So what?

  46. Have to agree that Jimmy Calderwood's managerial record is pretty good. The invective levelled towards him on Scottish football forums is a classic example of group think. Once you've read one P and B thread, you've read them all... "Old-school managers are 'dinosaurs', young 'progressive' coaches are terrific!" "There's no place for bullies in 'modern' football." The lamentation of bullying is pretty ironic given that football fans routinely abuse players, managers and officials from the stands and on the internet. Most young men need structure, rules and discipline imposed on them by an authority figure to keep them on track. It's just a fact of life.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
