  1. Tad on the rough side today but a thoroughly enjoyable trip yesterday with the Lillies Must admit it was not a traditional day out what with all the dressing up and costumes etc but I guess it is nearly Halloween Everbody reasonably friendly although there were a few complete belters travelling but what support doesn't Despite the 5-0 score line still enjoyed the game but in all honesty it was all over as a contest by half time, Clach keeper took a sore one and was rushed off to hospital so I hope he is on the road to recovery Strong anti merger rhetoric amongst the support and local journalism which they were quite open with Not sure I will make a habit of it but it would have still have been a better trip than the women's guild bus to Falkirk Lord Provost Dougal

  2. This is an internal disciplinary manner dealt with intenally by the club. If criminal procedures were deemed neccassary then that is what would have happened. If you were employed by the club your constant barracking about a closed matter would result in personal disciplinary action. As a supporter it amazes me you think this is good for the club or your own mental state and we should be cogniscent that what we say here does reflect positively or negatively on the club we support. There is no hypocrisy the clubs hands were tied by the idiots who repeatedly breached Criminal law and if they had not acted they would have had strict liabilty for other offences. There had been escalation of incidents for the last 18 months. Grow up pump fake and lets close down this negative and whinging debate.

  3. Its been done to death, despite your consistent attacks on the club and players, you are basing everything on four photos which do not reflect what actually happened. Unless you or anyone else has evidence to the contrary, there is nothing more to add. Your determination to continue adding nothing to a matter which has been dealt with and resolved would suggest you are not an ICT fan. GET OVER IT, Kellacher, Polworth, Robertson, the directors and the club have and everyone has moved on.

  6. Actually, I want to be entertained as well. The two seemed to go hand in hand almost every game in the days of Steve Paterson and quite often happened under Terry Butcher as well. The two are not and should not be mutually exclusive and, for what it's worth, I've spent more than a few evenings at Eden Court over the years failing to be entertained and you can't even console yourself with a bloody pie at half time !

  7. I can't belive there are fans on here apportioning some of the blame for the current situation and lack of quality performance on the fans because they dare to show displeasure at the fare put on show that they pay for as entertainment. As posted previously if fans feel their peers are partaking in abusive behaviour of any kind raise it with the stewards and get it addressed properlproperly as the club has a zero tolerance policy on this so needs exercised not just go on the Internet and moan about it.

  8. In answer to the first question, yes, definitely - he was more like he was when he first arrived and looked like he was going to be brilliant for us. He's got the pace to beat just about any full back in Scotland, and it showed yesterday. I think the biggest problem with Mulraney has been that his final balls have been so disappointing that people have, understandably, been very critical and it has also affected his ability to establish himself in the first team, and this has knocked his confidence. He's also had a tendency to go down far too easily - he was throwing himself all over the pitch at East End Park earlier this season - and he did do that once in the first half yesterday. He was really dangerous in the second half, and very unlucky not to score, although his final balls were still frustrating. I think Robbo must have had a word with him at half time about being more direct, because in the first half there was a moment when he received the ball in space and had an ideal opportunity to drive in on goal, and instead he wandered off out to the touchline and the move broke down. Hopefully his second half performance, and the twenty minutes us got for Ireland's U-21s last week, will give him his confidence back and he can kick on. Yesterday was undoubtedly our best footballing performance of the season, including the 4-0 win at Brechin, but I think Falkirk's playing style suited us. When teams have got pace in wide attacking areas and can stretch our back four, we have a tendency to fall apart, but yesterday Hippolyte and O'Hara kept things pretty narrow, and this allowed our two experienced full backs to tuck in, forming a solid back line that dealt with everything pretty easily. Mckay looks more comfortable when playing in a deep back line, perhaps because he's less likely to be turned, and Coll Donaldson was excellent. My biggest gripe with Donaldson after seeing him at Dumbarton was his woeful distribution out of defence, but there was much less of that yesterday, and he produced an unfussy, commanding central defensive performance. We did play a lot of long balls yesterday - an inevitable consequence of keeping both Polworth and Vigurs deep to protect the back four - but there was also some fine passing at times from Vigurs to set up counter-attacking moves. I overheard more criticism of Baird yesterday, but I think some of it was a little harsh: he did miss a couple of sitters, particularly a header for which he jumped too early, but most of his chances were created through his own consistent hard work and through some very effective link up play with Connor Bell, who also should have buried a chance with just the keeper to beat. I assume he thought he was offside, as everyone just seemed to stop, but Conrad Balatoni was clearly playing him on, and a more experienced striker would have made sure he put the ball away. I would stick with that pair as our front two just now, though, as both offer better movement and more creativity than Oakley. Didn't catch what the crowd was yesterday, btw, but it was impressive. Assume that there must have been some sort of boost with it being Hartley's first game, but it looks like Falkirk's crowds have held up well despite their poor start.

  11. Not sure it would be as simple as that, who would replace him? How long would they get? JR took over at a very difficult time and he didn't bring a magic wand. The confidence of the remaining team was shot to bits, battle weary from relegation and headless chicken management. Players were brought it on a small budget so it will take time to turn things around. Hopefully the last two games are something to work on and gain some traction.

  12. I would like to see Garry playing up front, a good target man for the long and crossed balls, perfectly capable of ruffling a few defences and getting and making a goal or two..........thoughts ??

  14. It will be interesting to see what he does going forward from this - his hand was forced to some extent by Trafford's injury, but playing Vigurs and Polworth deep protecting the back four did actually work yesterday. Against quicker teams with more attacking width it may not, and when we were going forward there was sometimes too much of a gap between midfield and attack yesterday. This could be addressed, of course, by playing Trafford alongside Vigurs and Polworth as a 10 with one of Baird or Bell dropped, or Chalmers dropped and Bell moved into one of the wide areas. On the basis of yesterday, though, I do think that Warren shouldn't walk straight back into the team when he's fit again, captain or not.

  15. Can I sit next to you next time I come up (it'll be March though) ...I'm very much a glass half full guy, and always appreciate a good bit of work recognising if players were really that consistently good they wouldn't be playing for us (and I have that same view at Palace, even though they're paid considerably more). I don't think the Tulloch stadium is very conducive for creating a great atmosphere, being so open, coupled with the fact we're still a young team in terms of existance (and thus tradition), and of course get pretty small crowds. When I come up I sit in the main stand and have plenty of people around me that moan for moaning's sake because they've paid the fee to come in. That said it does tend to be a vicious circle, fans want to see honest compentent players putting in a shift, and tend to get behind them when it happens, likewise Players need encouragement and also often surprisingly fragile flowers (but then who enjoys going to work and having people slag you off from the sidelines) so can both be raised up by positive vibes or hide due to negative comments (which are easier to hear in a quiet stadium). However this in not confined to a club like ICT, look at Arsenal their atmosphere at home games is terrible, whereas I also support Palace a team with allegedly the best atmosphere in the EPL (certainly yesterday the atmosphere against Chelsea gave me goosebumps) and is often cited by players as a factor in a good result. Anyway as for yesterday, in many ways i'm quite happy with that result, Falkirk were in those group of teams I saw challenging for promotion, and it seems we were well worth the point orn deserved more. More encouragingly we are slowly sorting a team out of the collection of players we have. Guys like Trafford and Bell, coupled to the guys like Vigurs, Polworth and Tremarco, starting to show their worth, good to hear Donaldson having a decent game... The Pre-season games seemed to indicate that Seedorf and Oakley were useful acquisitions, potential not yet fulfilled, and it sounds like Mulraney's international duty had a positive effect. It will be interesting to compare the points tally over the next 9 games...who knows we might see more Danial Mckay a bit more or find that the lesser spotted Zak Elbouzedi is a real player. I'm up for the away match at Livingston soon, and looking at their form, could be a real gauge on any improvement

  16. I don't like the crowd getting on the players backs but if a few moans and groans from the stands is what is stopping professional footballers play to their ability then perhaps we should get some thicker skinned players.

  19. What a crock of ****. Pardon the language the atmosphere can be better over he bridge because of the away teams and the type of stadium certainly not because of the C*unty fans. They are pitiful most of the time , the life in their stadium comes from likes of ourselves filling the away end, there usual fans from drakies and the Crown etc are desperately quiet As for wages Tansey, Draper Shinnie etc getting way more in their moves , Who do you think is getting the same or less? I really like your posts Moog but I can’t help think you are off the mark on this one. P.s. tonight to date I have had 3 large taliskers and I think 8 tins of Stella 2 Buds and a couple of Innes and agunn so there fore if I don’t remember this post tomorrow I reserve the right for something and other

  20. Ancient Mariner--I have no fears about your ability to rack up a great many future posts and rummel up the loyal fanbase. And thank you kindly for advising that you were not attacking me. You see, you're a younger one with much more energy in your body than poor auld Scarlet whose every movement to lift his pen from the inkwell now exhausts him greatly. It's a good job that I can still ruminate to illuminate, never mind riposting to attacks from a superior, energy-filled source. Have a great day and lang may yer lum reek oh Ancient Warrior of the Viking Invaders.

  21. Where's Dougal? And it's a million miles away from a "traditional away day," crikey, Clach-Brora final circa 1980, Clachers were launching the corner flags into the Brora mob. Four Crown was the tipple, no Prosecco ffs.

  22. I believe we as fans are a huge handicap to the players. If we were a great team to play for we wouldnt have lost a lot of our players over the last 3 seasons to similar clubs. Its not all wages. County atmosphere miles better and thats in our control not the teams.

  23. Happy to get the point despite the moans about missed chances - at least they were created! Very pleasing to hear there were improvements and a bit of fight in the team today. It wasn't going to be easy playing them on their own turf with their new manager in place so a big well done to all for the performance - Rome wasn't built in a day, we'll get there...

  24. I was not expecting anything today from Falkirk like others so happy with a point, what we need now is a performance like that next week with some better finnishing and take the 3 points at Dundee United.

  25. I think most of us would have taken that result before the game. Sounds like a good performance. Looking forward to reading the comments of those at the match. OK, we probably should have won it, but probably our best league performance of the season judging by the stats. Onwards and upwards!

  27. BB has reason to be proud of himself. He travels from Belfast to Scotland for football unlike the vast majority of his city who may travel to Scottish football grounds for reasons that have less to do with football than tribalism and seventeenth century history.

  30. If it's consistant wins or supporting a team who will deliver what you are looking for from a club, perhaps you might want to support Celtic or Aberdeen? Yes its frustrating but supporting a team means supporting them through good and bad. The real supporters do turn up, they do cheer on the team even in defeat. They also do not boo their own players or scream abuse at them which unfortunately seem to make up a substantial part of the "support" now. Just how is that supposed to lift the heads and drive them on? No wonder there is a crisis of confidence within the team. The youth team got slated for their behaviour which is unfortunate but by God, at least they supported and lifted the team and for that, they are worth 100 of every idiot who who thinks it's ok to shout abuse just because things arn't going the way they would like. They are the cancer eating through the club and causing the greatest spiral of low confidence which is greatly affecting the team. How would you feel as a player if every time you touched the ball you received a torrent of abuse or boos? FFS, Polworth scored a goal and created another yet some "fans" booed him? Sure he may have had a less then expected game but what do you want if two goals warrant that? Just to note, Billy McKay scored 4 goals in 15 appearances, Polworth has scored 3 in 14 appearences, I don't recall anyone giving McKay a hard time? And don't get me started on Vigurs, the things I've heard fans shout because he makes one mistake or poor pass yet all the good stuff he does is ignored. I guess it's just an Inveness thing.....?

Oh, when will they ever learn? Oh, when will they ever learn? Where have all the managers gone, long time passing? Where have all the managers gone, long time ago? Where have all the managers gone? gone to oblivion everyone. Oh, when will they ever learn? Oh, when will they ever learn? Where have all the players gone, long time passing? 32. An incredibly sad thing to say but you are absolutely right. Would anyone who goes to the games and hears what the "fans" shout want to play for ICT? Can't blame any player who runs out the door when someone else is interested.

  34. Quite a first post, I smell a sock puppet..... but I'll bite. First of all, this thread is four pages long, I trust you have read everything? Next, as serious as what? I assume you have new evidence to offer? If you have, you must have been in the dugout so either tell us what happened or retreat back to your sock drawer. Are you really comparing the vandalism and intentional destruction of property the threatening and abuse of stewards to a heated exchange? Now I would suggest this thread be closed as a previous poster has indicated charges of assault could be brought, to continue what has become some kind of witch hunt when the matter has been resolved could cause further trouble for the club and this forum.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
