I thought the broadcast was decent enough, apart from when the ball was not in play like waiting for a corner and the AI went in search of it. The commentator has a difficult job without a sidekick or a support team in his ear and was ok with that in mind but just wasn’t adequately familiar with the players on the pitch. That needs to improve and he could have been better prepared in terms of recognising them.7 points

I really enjoyed that. It felt like I was at my seat. My low concentration and poor eyesight were mimicked perfectly by the AI. The staring and swearing at the linesmans bald head made me really feel like I was there after another terrible offside. The zoom in on the chances in the box worked fairly well until baldy distracted the camera. Corner kicks were a particular problem that will get resolved. I seen more on here than I would have at my seat. Happy clapper all the way.2 points

Bloody glad we achieved a point after a pretty poor performance, Not much to be confident about on the pitch, Basic tactics mostly consisting mainly of lumping it up towards Todarov ( Brewster he ain't ). I'll put it down to a makeshift team with a sprinkling of young inexperienced players, Combined with a fair pile of wayward passes, But what worries me most is the lack of pace in the side, None of our back 4 would be described as anything more than 'cumbersome ' Of the players out injured only Storey can give us pace, Kennedy might give us something but that remains to be seen. Next weeks game vs Arbroath is becoming crucial even at this early stage of a short season.2 points

I kept on wondering why there were no fans in the stadium and was grateful to the commentator for reminding me every 10 minutes that the game was behind closed doors because of COVID-19.2 points

Camera really should have been on the West side, that’s probably down to ICT. No zooms, no replays, terrible AI, terrible commentator, just ICT getting what you pay for I suppose. Anybody know what cut ICT get from this SPFL deal? Presumably the Pars made a reasonable profit from 1700 subscribers last week doing it in-house.2 points

It wasn't too bad really and hopefully the wandering camera thing will be rectified before the next game. Otherwise I don't suppose many people will be so willing to cough up a tenner in future!1 point

It was me Lizi and I followed your instructions and after a few stop/starts, I eventually got on to the game just as the whistle went for the kickoff. At my advanced years I was really chuffed I managed to get into the system and watch the game. Thanx to you.1 point

Well, they were. The camera wasn't moving. In case there are any other techies here, I worked out a few things about the system. The Pixellot website - https://www.pixellot.tv/ - mentions a "multi-camera fixed rig system" in the centre of the ground, stitching together a panoramic picture of the pitch. The ICT system used four cameras. Two were looking across to midway inside each half. The straight line across the ground and into the sky was where the images from these two cameras were stitched together by the system. That's why there were differences in colour and sharpness there - two different cameras. Would have thought that the system should be able to compensate better for that. There were two other cameras, one covering each end. The sloping lines where their images were stitched to the central camera images were quite clear, once I knew what to look for, and especially after the sun had gone. So four cameras in all, but no camera was actually moving. The system was stitching together the four camera feeds into one big picture of the ground. It was then deciding which part of that picture to show to us, and whether to zoom in or out - just like you or me deciding which part of a very large screen to look at. Clearly, it was mistaking the linesman's head for the ball, which made me wonder how the AI had learned to follow a game. It suggests that the great majority of the people in the games that it has "watched" have had plenty of hair. Made me wonder about that other common flaw in machine learning, namely using only white people whilst it is learning. Probably not such a problem here, because it is watching people moving, and not, for example, trying to do facial recognition. Clearly very far from perfect - but interesting for a (former) nerd like me.1 point

That's really not good enough then if the support channels aren't available when people are actually trying to use the service. Fingers crossed you get it fixed and I would definitely be enquiring about some form of recompense.1 point

That coverage was hilarious. A commentator who didn’t know more than 20% of the players names. You suddenly realise that even Billy Dodds and the Radio Scotland crew are actually nit that bad after him! A camera guided by AI which missed so many incidents because it kept focusing on the linesman’s baldy napper. Camera was so far away from play it was difficult to work out who was who. Honestly think the club would be better doing it on Facebook live if that’s the ‘quality’ as if 2020 needed to be any worse in quality!! No idea who played well but delighted we got the draw and we’ll done to all the boys for battling it out .1 point

I understand the difficulties involved in setting up coverage from scratch but the quality of that coverage really wasn't good enough for paying customers of any business. The quality of the coverage was worse than the quality of the football which is really saying something.1 point

Don't think there will be anything they can do, since contracts will have been signed. They may not even have the option of lowering the price. Just going to have to learn to live with it, and hope that the AI is smart enough to learn about the Scottish game!1 point

Ayr today, gone tomorrow It's matchday two this weekend in the Ladbrokes Championship and the visitors to the Caledonian Stadium are Ayr United who have two former Caley Jags players in their ranks. Tom Walsh and Joe Chalmers joined the Honest Men in the summer and could be in the squad this weekend for the game that kicks off at 3:00pm. It is of course another covid restricted game played behind closed doors, with Alan Muir the man in charge of proceedings. Ayr's one and only win at the Caledonian Stadium came in 2003. That's seventeen years ago, and since then it has been five draws and four defeats for the Honest Men. Live streaming is available for all home Championship games through your season ticket or PPV for any game. The Ayr game will be our first broadcast match and can be viewed through the SPFL Portal. Let's hope it all runs smoothly. The link below takes you to the SPFL Portal from where you can view the games. You must have already registered to gain access to this portal. All live matches available on the platform are broadcast from a Pixellot camera, one of which has been installed at each Scottish Championship ground. The camera is unmanned and uses ball tracking technology. These cameras will produce 1080p (HD) footage and the broadcast will come with commentary. Nikolay Todorov had given us the lead in 88 seconds, converting a tantalising cross from Daniel Mackay. Unfortunately Pars captain Euan Murray scored his 4th goal of the season, all with the head, to level matters. Ryan Dow prodded home from close range as we failed to clear our lines in the last quarter of an hour and Declan McManus fired a superb strike into the top corner across keeper Mark Ridgers to seal the points. A disappointing outcome where we matched the home side for long spells but slackness at the back benefited Dunfermline who took full advantage and all three points with two goals in the final twelve minutes. To compound matters, goalscorer Todorov had to leave the pitch twenty minutes in after a nasty collision with Euan Murray where he took a heavy knock from which he never recovered. That's all three strikers crocked one game into the season to add to four other regulars that were unavailable. Meh! Here's the early strike from Toddy before he joined the crocked list...... Ayr opened their account by beating Queen of the South 2-1 at Somerset Park. Defender Michael Miller scored both goals with Stephen Dobbie grabbing a penalty for the Doonhamers. Both sides ended the game with ten men as Luke McCowan was sent off in stoppage time for Ayr with James Maxwell likewise for Queens just after the hour. Ayr had to thank nineteen year old Finnish keeper Viljami Sinisalo for making a magnificent save to deny Gregor Buchanan in the dying embers of time added on. A hard earned three points for Ayr, but it's three more than we got. Our injury woes are well documented with Miles Storey, Nikolay Todorov and Shane Sutherland all injured. David Carson, Lewis Toshney, Aaron Doran and Danny Devine all missed the Pars game although Devine was an unused sub. Kai Kennedy should be available after his isolation from the Scotland u19 squad covid problems. Dorans sketch is all we have seen of him so far this season. Here's the breakdown on the broken players: Lewis Toshney (hip flexor), Kevin McHattie (hip), David Carson (muscle), Miles Storey (torn hamstring), Nikolay Todorov (rib and lung bruising), Aaron Doran (knee) and Shane Sutherland (hamstring strain). Dario Zanatta was rested for the opener and Tom Walsh also missed out. Walsh has the Caley Jags jinx, hamstring problems. However, Joe Chalmers played and Patrick Reading made his competitive debut. Bruce Anderson and Michael Miller also featured and young Finnish keeper Sinisalo had a good afternoon. Other Championship fixtures this weekend. ARBROATH 0-1 HEARTS (Fri) ALLOA v DUNFERMLINE DUNDEE v MORTON QUEENS v RAITH ***LATEST TEAM NEWS*** John Robertson is without a number of players, particularly up front with Miles Storey and Nikolay Todorov out. Shane Sutherland is struggling to be ready in time and will be assessed late. Aaron Doran and David Carson have not featured in pre-season and Lewis Toshney was injured during it. Kai Kennedy has met his new pals and will enter the squad. Hopefully he will get some time on the park. Danny Devine will be fit enough to be included as he made the bench last week. Brad Mckay and Kevin McHattie have had to play in the opening games despite not being up to speed yet after a disjointed pre-season. Jesus Christ, he's like buses. Nothing for eight months then two images at the same time. Hi Aaron, hiya pal! Ayr signed Dundee United midfielder Cammy Smith on loan two days before they came North and he will go straight into their squad. He is signed until January, as is striker Innes Cameron who comes in on loan from Kilmarnock ahead of the trip North. Jordan Houston could return along with Zanatta, but Walsh looks set for another week or two on the sidelines. Luke McCowan is suspended after his late sending off against Queen of the South last Saturday. The evergreen Michael Moffat will be a threat as always. The 35 year old is still one to be watched and along with Cammy Smith will provide the pace and ammunition for the rest. Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report

Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.-

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!-

Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.-

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.-

Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report

Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
