  1. Still 1-0 to the young Caley Jags as we move into the last few minutes.... Full-Time at the Caley Stadium and we are into the Semi-Finals of the U18’s Scottish Cup with a 1-0 victory.

  2. What worries me is that we seem to have become so poor at doing so much of the basics. For 80 minutes today, we were 2nd to most of the 50:50 balls, we couldn't pass the ball, we couldn't shoot, we couldn't cross, we couldn't find spaces we, didn't try to take players on, there was no movement at throw ins and we couldn't cope with the far more direct and attacking movement of Raith. Thank goodness Ross got a knock early in the 2nd half because he made complete mincemeat of our defence in the first half. Yet again, it was Ridgers who saved us from the scoreline we deserved. We only came al

  5. Last time I looked we were 2nd in the table, with a game in hand, having lost just 4 games all season, we had a great run at the start of the season, as we did at the end of last season, and yes whilst we've struggled a bit recently, with different players having issues, and with what seems like a bit of dressing room unrest (dealt with) but very few teams, especially on a small budget can expect to go all season firing on all cylinders. Every player brought in so far this year has done all right [save perhaps Duku, who hopefully will have a purple patch soon]. Can we get Carson firing again i

  7. There will be not many teams who take 4 points from Gayfield this season. In the circumstances a good solid point. 3 points of the top with a game in hand going into the new year is OK with me.

I am now a Canadian citizen named Roderick but when I note the mention of the Isle of Skye I feel compelled to answer as follows : "A very good friend of mine lives on the same street as me (a co-incidence I still can't get my head around) in the City named Maple Ridge in British Columbia .She was born on the Isle of Skye and so we have something in common. She has a very bright mind and keeps me happy by always seeming to know things i need to know whenever my aging memory at 83 years old fails me. Fortunately, it seems that Kevin has been located by the police and is in safe hands again. 10. Looks like a lot of us clicking on to the fact Dodds isn't keen on trusting his young players and some players have been played out of position with no need for it? This is going to be the season of missed opportunities by the looks of it? For me Dodds doesn't believe we can win the league .....

  11. Won't matter who we bring in in my opinion.... As its the same old garbage coaching them as its been for the last 5 odd years. No point bringing in new managers then forcing them to work with old hat supposed coaches

  12. FWIW, I wouldn't have taken Duku on and instead I would have tried Jamieson as he seems to play well with Mckay and has looked better than Duku in the games he has played. I also wouldn't have taken off MacGregor so unless this was a change that had to be made through injury or fitness I would have gone with: Ridgers Devine Broadfoot Deas Carson Welsh McAlear Walsh MacGregor Mckay Jamieson I might not have started with this formation, probably going with the same 4411 that Dodds did go with, but as the game went on and we needed to get more goals I would have tried the above

  13. Absolutely right we are not playing well. We have a strong squad of players and you have to ask yourself are management getting the best out of them. Roddie Macgregor probably the best young talent at the squad stuck out wide on the right hand and then taken off just so we can batter the ball forward at every opportunity.

  14. That was grim. After a decent opening 15 - 20 minutes from Queens, during which they probably should have scored at least once, we started to get on top and looked like ending the first half the stronger side. Queens main attacking plan seemed to be trying to slide the ball in behind our CBs for Connelly to latch on to and we got a glimpse of this when Paton (I think) burst through and looked set to round Ridgers but fortunately a well timed challenge snuffed out this threat. Deas had a couple of decent chances which fell to him at the left edge of the box but your CB filling in at l

  15. So frustrating! Today worse than last week in the end as we really needed to win today. We need new blood in a fast but I'm not convinced the strengthening we need is coming. We the fans believe we can win the league but do Dodds and the club? I dunno.... Billy D just sprouts out the same post match interview every week. Very few actually performed well today and for pitys sake give Sutherland a day off. He's bomb proof as the sub picked today showed. Totally and utterly fed up!

  16. I was one of the 479 who were at the stadium and don't think I have ever seen such an inept display from all three officials.Collum was his usual over officious self while the standside assistant allowed a blatant offside goal to stand and his partner in crime originally flagged the QOS equaliser offside and then allowed the referee to overrule him. Having said that it didn't help that once again we failed to beat a lower placed team at home.
    4 points
  17. That equaliser was totally out of the blue but we will take it. We were poor today but for once we had a plan B. Main issue continues to be the fact we have a top class striker who works his ass off but gets no service. Hoof ball won't work! Another worry is the fact that some become anonymous when things not going. I'm not convinced by Shane Sutherland at all at moment but he seems bomb proof? Oh well might be a vital point in end and actually in end we might have snatched a win.

  19. We can't just release someone because we fancy it. This isn't Football Manager. The club will have tried to work something out between Carson and Gardyne, clearly it hasn't worked, maybe something else has happened behind the scenes that we aren't aware of and as a result the club have decided to move one of them on. Getting an agreement that works for all parties won't happen overnight, especially if one of the parties doesn't agree to what is being proposed, so perhaps it's not that surprising that it hasn't happened quickly. Anyway, it's done now and we now need to take whatever monies

  22. That was horrible. Second to every ball, inability to retain position, slack passing and no attacking threat. However, it was a depleted squad and we don’t know the extent to which the ones who played were fully fit after the Covid problems and presumably a lack of training recently. Happy to nick a point today.

  23. Another year completed, still impacted by the Covid pandemic. However, I found that ex ICT players managed 357 goals in 2021, a considerable increase on the previous year. I don’t include goals scored by our ‘out on loan’ players, as strictly speaking, they are not ‘ex ICT’, being still on our books, with ICT probably still contributing to their wages. The clear ‘winner’ this year has been Henri Anier. A regular scorer in previous years for a few different clubs, this year, back home in his native Estonia, he surpassed himself, at both club (Paide) and country level. Also featuring wel

  25. Does anybody actually want us to be promoted this season ? If we are doing to go up then we need to have the core of a structure and finances ready to support us - if not we face the prospect of being the proverbial whipping boys which could result in the crowds dwindling further and the "support" diminishing. If we had real ambition to go up then it would have been clearly apparent from the comings and goings. And are we also stepping back in the realms of the club communicating with the club base. This has been as poor a league this season as it has been for a long time. At the present time

  26. Were Dennis Wyness or Billy Mackay prolific goalscorers and the finished article before getting the chance and finding their feet with us? Also I don’t think our young up and comers Roddy McGregor or Cameron Harper for example scored any goals until they got the chance to. We need to give players young or old a chance, don’t we?

  27. I really couldn't see the point in taking such a promising and talented young player and then using him so sparingly, especially when others were struggling for form or fitness.

  28. ICT with another rotten performance after taking the lead is it? Nice finish from Shane for the goal after good work from McAlear (probably our MotM). Clear penalty for Dunfermline and Carson looked like he handled again just before the final whistle. I felt we had a decent claim for a penalty as well but it wasn't to be. Four points from the last 15 available is grim but probably about as much as we deserve. The brilliant performance against Morton is but a distant memory and if the injuries to Mckay and MacGregor are as folk claim then we are going to be struggling significantly a

  30. One reason we are not now top of the league is throwing away the lead against a poor Dunfermline team when we last played them in Inverness to, in the end, come away with nothing. We need to remedy that tomorrow. We are better than the Pars, the league table demonstrates that, it's essential that we prove that on the pitch and keep our promotion push firmly on track. Nothing less than 3 points will do.

  31. We certainly have injuries and the vacancy created by Montrose's latest signing to contend with, however, Arbroath are a fantastic example of maximising the team effort. It would be great if we could revisit the form we started the league season with and gain revenge over Dunfermline at a time they are desperate for points. We owe Yogi and Dunfermline nothing. Let's hope minds and bodies are focussed at 3pm Saturday to get us back on track.

  35. Absolute dross. One of these teams is trying to get promoted, the other is trying to avoid relegation. Dress it up any way you want, but it's difficult to tell the teams apart. No wins in four for Inverness but still second in the league that nobody wants to assert their authority on. Well done Arbroath, without Nouble and Dowds, but still able to beat Raith on their own patch. Carson and Deas were absolutely useless yesterday, there's no other way to describe it. Deas maybe trying to bodyswerve suitors, went the right way about it, absolutely woeful. Carson, wtf. We need to get some seri

  36. Poor result but in my opinion you can't fault any player for a lack of effort and commitment. For those who are blaming the management what would you do differently? Reading the previous posts what do people think is the issues with the team? There's a lot of talk but no one seems to say what they they would do to rectify these problems. It seems most people just like to jump on the bandwagon and criticise the team but can't back it up with any justifiable response. We are second in the league with a game in hand on the top team. If that team was Killmarnock we would all be delighted

  37. Cannot blame the referee for our total lack of a ability to beat the bottom club. QOS probably aggrieved that they only took a point today. We are our team in freefall who got lucky at the start of the season, catching the other teams cold, but by f***k they have well and truly sussed us out now Dodds looks totally clueless standing there week in, week out. His tactical of change of removing McGregor for Duku was just bizarre, throw the big guy on and hope for the best seems to be his go to plan.

  42. Just waiting for someone to blame the wind at Arbroath or covid for that load of bollocks. The mediocrity of the teams around us are keeping this race going. Good debut by Mr Donaldson at Morton warms the heart though, shipping 4 with a bonus og too. Nice.

  44. Relieved to have rescued what might yet prove to be a crucial point and actually find ourselves a point closer to the top. However, that was, for the most part, very poor and we are going to have to find much better and more consistent form if we are going to maintain our promotion prospects.

  45. Looking at our bench yesterday, we probably could have sought a postponement, as we only had 13 first team players, and only 1 was a goalkeeper. We had MacKay, Welsh, MacGregor, McAlear, McDonald and Jamieson missing altogether We don’t know which players in the squad had been affected by the virus or unable to train much. Reflecting on it and as a result of the recent challenges, I think the players were tasked with not losing and they achieved that. It was not pretty, in large part due to the conditions. We failed to use the wind to our advantage in the first half, but equal

Six Pointers Are Here: Big game at the sharp end of the Table as rudderless Inverness travel to Rugby Park to take on 'all their eggs in one basket' Kilmarnock. Saturday 3:00pm is the scheduled kick off time which I'm certain that Killie fans will be looking forward to this with more optimism than the trepidated nail biting Caley Jags fans. • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
More points thrown away: Inverness wasted an opportunity to put pressure on the top of the table after squandering a first half lead through Shane Sutherland. Steven Lawless levelled from the spot in the second half with ten minutes remaining after David Carson was adjudged to have blocked a cross with a flailing arm. Another drab performance after a first half full of promise. No surprise really given recent performances, but frustrating nonetheless.

A visit to East End Park is on the cards for this weekend. With both teams conveniently knocked out of the Scottish Cup, then we can play catch-up on this postponed fixture from the end of December. Kick off is 3:00pm and with fan restrictions lifted, a healthy crowd is anticipated as the omicron cobwebs get blown away.

    • Comedy of Errors: Inverness once more failed to take advantage of the given situation by producing another abject display at home against a club staring at relegation. This time it was Queen of the South that showed up our lack of quality and Lee Connelly scored the opener in the first half with Willie Collum waiving away appeals for offside. Same old same old from Inverness in a dire first half. We looked to have got out of jail when the Queens defenders made a hash of clearing a long kick out from Mark Ridgers and Billy Mckay accepted the comical defending to prod the ball home. If ever a man needed a goal it was Tom Walsh who has been totally ineffective this season, but score he did after being sent into the box by Mckay before drilling the ball behind Josh Rae. Phew we all thought, thank feck for that! Alas we shot ourselves in the foot, or more accurately David Carson shot us in the foot as he teed up substitute Ally Roy who had only been on the park for one minute. Surprisingly we actually jumped back into second place thanks to other results, but it's a complete mystery how we have done this given the dross we are subject to at the moment.
