January transfer window.

With January only 3-4 weeks away, I thought I'd start a thread for the January window, only for players we know of so no rumours as that is what rumour section is for.

It looks very likely that Conor Henderson will be signed up as he had a successful trial period.

Also, its imperative that Miles Storey gets signed up.  Not too sure about Tobi Sho-Silva so will leave it to you guys to discuss lol.

For me, we need 1 or 2 strikers but if Henderson is signed, then it will be 1 striker due to fact only 1 or 2 players are rumoured to be all John will be allowed.

Wouldn't mind seeing Darren Murray signed up eiti but he is contracted to a club so is unlikely to happen :(.

Not really a big storey since we secured a player for the rest of the season that is miles better...

I can confirm that a bid of £250,000 has been made to Livi for Miles Hippolyte.

Is that before or after we sack Hughes?

Not a really a big surprise if Stokes turns us down to be honest.  I did speak to an ICT fan recently who wanted us to sign Derek Riordan though.  ........Nah, you're alright!

I think Stokes' attitude would quite possibly be stinking if he did sign for us anyway. Us being such a wee Diddy team and all. Better he move to media myth peddled big teams like Utd and hibs.

Hope all this Stokes crap hadn't been distracting the team from winning the cup tie. On second thoughts maybe it has.

An interesting decision for Stokes if it really is in his hands. My guess is that he wouldn't "lower himself" to play for a diddy team (Scottish Cup Champions), preferring instead to go to the bigger team - Hibs in the Championship. I see this as a win-win: If he comes here, he's coming to get game time and to stick it up Deila; if he doesn't he's as shallow as I think he is and Inverness is not for him. Let's see what he does....

I'm sorry but I seriously doubt the players really give a feck if a Celtic player joins our team on loan.

Yes. this thread does appear to getting longer--a case of some folks stoking the fire I suppose?

Speaking of STOKE ing ---Peter Crouch is available------should imagine he has bigger altitude -----

 Yeah, and it's still got three-weeks to go!
But much of the drama happens in the final day(s)! Not sure of the exact closing date of the 'window', but a quick glance at the net suggests it shuts at 11pm on 1st Feb in England. It's been good so far - extending Storey's loan and getting a new striker in.

No just higher aspirations

You will be telling us next that he hails from Stoke-on-Trent?

And wrote a novel under the pseudonym of Bran Stoker?

If we can't get Stokes or Hippolyte in then I'd like Darren Murray to be signed because he is on the transfer market by Shamrock.

“I rate Darren as a top striker, so he’ll not go cheap,” said McFall.

So how is that going to work then?

You're quite taken with Darren Murray aren't you?  I'm heard on the grapevine that we were willing to pay a small(ish) fee for him if he impressed in his trial.  Seemingly he didn't and so we didn't.

Wouldn't really fit with the "theory" that Celtic are desperate to get Rangers back into the top flight!!

Seems like Stokes has signed for Hibs on loan.

Anyway, poor lad would have found it too cold for him, sitting on our bench at the Longman.

Haven't seen confirmation of this-----still a rumour?

As I suspected it is just a rumour that Stokes is going to Hibs, He may well do so yet though as according to Celtic there are still a number of Clubs looking to sign him on loan. The matter is still being discussed between The Club and Stokes and a decision will eventually be made when agreement is reached on what move is mutually beneficial. These are not the words used as I cannot remember them clearly but an interpretation of what was said.

To be honest, I am not fussed either way.

Now Dundee United have had a bid for Stokes on loan accepted. He'll have plenty of options to pick from.

According to Tay2 sport 10 mins ago they are still in talks

There's no point in Stokes coming here unless he really wants to come and I don't get that impression from what's been speculated in the press. I would prefer it, however, if he didn't go to any of our Premiership rivals!

IMO we would be the most logical option for Stokes. We have a lack of strikers/attacking players and he would most likely start most games for us. He would get exactly what he needs in a manager that knows how to get the best out of him while gaining much needed minutes on the pitch. At Dundee united he would be competing with Billy Mckay and that new Finnish lad for a starting berth and he would be scrapping it our each week in a relegation battle. At Hibs he would once again have competition from 3 or 4 other strikers and be playing at a lower level.

I think from Celtic's point of view they would probably prefer us as well seeing that he would be getting regular football and be away from the goldfish bowl of Glasgow.

Applying common sense or logic to this however is a waste of time, who knows where he will end up!
