Our squad next season

I am fairly certain that most fans/posters on here know that at the end of this season there is likely to be a mass exodus of players leaving so my simple question is, would you rather we replaced them with experienced players or youngsters because I am clearly in the youngsters camp but would also believe that we may need some experienced players no matter what league we're in but especially if we're in league 1 which is the worst case scenario but also the most likely unless we can win our 6 pointers against Arbroath, Queens Park and Dunfermline šŸ¤”.

I don't know who's here for next season but I would imagine that the key ones to retain if at all possible are Billy McKay and Mark Ridgers : ictscarf:

He must have an aunt or something living locally as ICT can’t afford accommodation costs for incoming players. As Fraz said, pity there weren’t any local keepers available. Shambolic

Let’s assume that Dundee Utd are paying his wage. They have a lot to gain by getting him starting 11 experience. There’s no money to spend on players.

Ā

I assume that Dundee Utd are covering the costs and we gain an up and coming hungry goalkeeper and save a wage. A win win!

Could be seen as a cracking piece of business.Ā

Could also be seen as 100 potential ICT supporters not turning up at The Dump every week because what they really want to see is a team of mostly local lads proudly representing their home town.

Not an issue apparently

I agree that if Dundee Utd are paying his wages it could be a bit of good business, but that in no way mitigates against the appalling way locally based keepers have been treated. Ā Of course, none of the background here is Jack's fault and if he is to be our first choice keeper, then we must give him our full support. Ā I rather fear he will be a busy lad and will need all the support he can get.

That's the DUFC keeper now in on loan. Forum triallists can stand downĀ JACK NEWMAN JOINS INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE ON LOAN | Dundee United Football Club (dundeeunitedfc.co.uk)

We still need a back up goalie so Duke remains in the dugout! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Ā

Seriously though, I hope Jack does very well for us, but where’s the logic in making two local ā€˜keepers leave and bringing in someone who we will need to pay accommodation costs for?

A Dundee United fan I know said he was a capable back up for them, who got some first team experience in their relegation season, and he feels he can do a good job for us.Ā

I think this is know as the 'hammer nail interface.

We're seeing way too much of the club saying one thing and doing another.

The idea of getting shot of Inverness based keepers and bring in a central belt based replacement reeks of a deal done or decision made when the plan was to be training at Kelty.

That sounds about right STFU.Ā

I noticed that earlier on. Not sure if they know something or did they forget to delete him.Ā

Cameron Ferguson is missing from the website too.

bucking the trend here, have a list of names waiting to see who will be first to let rip.

When I go to the games I want to see the best players we are capable of getting.Ā
The way some players have been treated by the club aside ( disgracefully), if the new keeper turns out to be better than the 2 local guys we let go, then happy days.
Some players can’t leave us quick enough for a ā€œbiggerā€ team, others are ā€œ let goā€.

Thats football

maybe new keeper won’t need accommodation up here. They usually train on their own anyway. Would get better coaching at UTD I would think. Get to know our new defence pre season.

dragged this up from the courier

Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Mark Ridgers has apologised to the club’s fans for their relegation this season.

Various managers down the years have called him theĀ best goalkeeper in the Championship, but he was at fault for multiple Hamilton goals over the two legs of the play-off final………

Time to move on, new league, new era.

ps …. mark always had time to speak to my 8 year old grandson while walking his dog. Made me have to watch what I said at games as grandson would tell him what I was saying when we lost a goal on a Saturday.

Why does everything have to be so cloak and dagger? We just want openness and honesty.

Where does Stuart Garden Arbroath's former goal keeping coach fit in?Ā

Accommodation is surely required for Newman, Ferguson, Gilmour, Savage, Brooks, Ujdur, D. Ferguson, Bollan, Goal keeping coach, Pyhsio ( if we have one) and there may be more. Some will share I assume. The same bunch would have required the same in Kelly !!!!!Ā

I Don’t think it matters what players we bring in . Duncan Ferguson yet again after his Forest Green and ICT coaching stints has all by himself proven he lacks how to coach . You think after the Dodds scenario we would have learnt from it . Oh no our board along with the talented CEO ( yeah talented clown ) spend 300k a year on hiring Laurel and Stan Hardy . We now wait with anticipation to what the cluedo board come up with next .Ā
