Trust Dougal to inject negativity into a positive thread. CC was outstanding for Thistle, for Caley and for ICT and even managed a wee cameo at Clach. Mr Inverness Football if ever there was one.
  2. Absolutely not. He was released because he's a fat, lazy, useless, little moron, who was absolute rubbish against us a few weeks ago. We should stay well clear of this wee troll.

Over reactionary drivel by the usual suspect sadly.

For a thread about Ryan Christie the promising youngster coming through the ranks at ICT this thread has very little about Ryan Christie the promising youngster coming through the ranks at ICT.

Wait for them to try and use the disabled toilets at the next home game then jump them and flush their head in the toilet.
  6. Ryan deserves his chance, and I'm not basing this on 5 minutes against Celtic. I don't know how many under 20s games you've seen this season but I've been to quite a few. In a team regularly featuring Williams, Polworth, Pepper, Greenhalgh & Agdestein he often stands out as the class act. Besides, County are shyte. Never get a better opportunity to blood a youngster risk free.

As critical as I was about Hughes appointment, I have more faith in him than previous managers to give home grown young players a chance. Christie looked terrific in pre season and by all accounts has impressed in the U21s. He's earned his place on the bench.
  8. Wazzup folks. We expect nothing from games against Celtic, we got nothing, sorted. Move along.

There was a shove, but it was hardly done with any malice. It's no more than what any of us would do if someone backed in to us in the street in order to stop us having toes trodden on or being bundled over ourselves. Looked to me like the Crawford Allan appreciated that fact and just got on with the game so talks of being a target or it deserving of a booking/card/sending off are quite ridiculous, IMO.

I found this the other day so I thought I'd post it here in Mickey's memory.
  11. What about Farid El Alagui? Fallen out of favour at Brentford apparently. Proven goalscorer in Division One at Falkirk, and offers something to Mckay. Don't know if he'd come here, but he'd be a good signing I think.

Typical negative garbage from you Dougal. CC couldn't break into a talented 1st team at Celtic and came back north to reinvigorate his "stuttering" career. Not a bottler, but a wise man with the balls to start over after it hadn't quite worked out at Celtic. Missing in big games - like his MotM performance in the 3-1 cup win vs Celtic? I think I'm right in saying that his stats as manager are actually quite good. Also, if rumours are true, one of the determining factors in quitting as manager was the impact it had on his family. A real man, putting his family first. Bottler my arse. Dougal, I think you should consider the impact of your posts before sharing them. Mr Christie jnr is likely to read this thread following his first team debut and your unwarranted, inflammatory and misguided comments will do him, his family, the players at large and the club no good whatsoever. You have, as RiG said, managed to turn what should be a positive thread into a sideshow of Dougal Negativity. If Mr Christie jnr turns out make half the contribution to this club that his father did, then he will have been a real success in his own right. He has the potential, and now needs EVERYONES support and encouragement to assist him in allowing it to materialise.
  13. Peaks & troughs in football outside the OF in terms of consistency, we are going through a bit of a form dip but we are not playing too bad, first half V dons was awful but we still scored 3 and created others, a point away to PT is still an away point against a team we should be competing at the relegation end against (being realistic) and a narrow defeat to the champions elect. Look at D Utd, 2 wks ago they were the new Barcelona with flair all over the park and scoring for fun, now its 2 heavy defeats in a row and club in crisis. We can start by playing better on Wed and taking 3 points from County, then build momentum again. There were errors in the squad selection and positions which everyone seems to comment on but hardly a club in crisis like the doom and gloom posts on here seem to suggest from some.

Even for the most tedious troll on here that's absolutely pathetic.
  15. Theeagle reminds me of many Ross County fans. Clearly isn't getting any real satisfaction from following his own wee team (Alloa in this case) and has become obsessed with all things ICTFC. Unfortunately he doesn't have the strength of character to understand or accept his new found love and to justify hanging around he presents himself as a troll.

This boy has TALENT! So pleased to see him feature at long last. He has the POTENTIAL to be a better player than his old man so I hope Yogi gives him a well deserved run.
  17. 1 point
Following the televised game against Celtic, the manager made very positive remarks about the young fellow - father Christie was standing next to him however - and I feel it is impossible now for Yogi NOT to include him at some point v RC.
  18. I could see the point of no cash gate at Celtic end,but why not for home fans.Plenty of people arriving without tickets for various reasons but told no tickets after 11am. Somebody saw some sense and fans got tickets.Sureley when attendance is always is a sore point this issue should not come to light. I spoke to a guy who had just got off a chopper after being 2 weeks offshore and he was not amused.

I first saw him play a good few years ago and have always maintained that he will go on to be a massive player for us, if not one of our best ever. A Jim McLean-esque 10 year deal please!
  20. 1 point
A three and a half year deal for young Mr Christie and a derby victory would be a fine start to 2014

If people would stop feeding the troll then this thread WOULD be about Ryan. Dougal is looking for a reaction...people are queuing up to give him one. If everyone had ignored him he would have gone away. Anyway, I first saw Ryan play about 18 months ago and thought he looked a special talent then. Probably seen him play about 8 times since and he has always impressed me. I think he deserves to start against County playing behind McKay, with Watkins & Doran out wide.
  22. Raven must start. Apart from his defensive qualities, Doran is a much more effective player when linking up with Raven on the right.
  23. Get a photo of him and stick it up on here.
  24. bughtmaster: Sorry I can't comment on it as the link to FB doesn't work for me.

He wasn't on the verge of breaking through at Celtic though. He was like many players before him, made the jump but found himself marginalised. He became unhappy so put his happiness 1st. That showed bottle. He was quite successful as manager in my opinion. Team played some of it's best football in the SPL with him in charge and he helped make a great team. This was when we had one of the best attacks in the league, the meanest defence and had it not been for the split finish 4th going by our points total. I believe it was our highest ever total achieved at the time. Good on young Christie though, hope he can make an impact soon. He has promise.
  26. With my critical , over critical hat on I suspect, if you play 5 across midfield with a little chap up front against a very experienced Dutch centre back twice his size, and pump long balls up to them., what do you expect?
  27. Aye, and you can add to that the fact that Partick have only won 1 of their last 15 games. No prizes for guessing who it was against. Aye, in a game the ref stole us two goals which would have won the game or us.
  28. I'd still like to see us bring Rory back.

Harsh, unnecessary and somewhat inaccurate representation of 10CC in my opinion. One of ICT's greatest ever players and you portray him as a bottler - substantiated explanation required please.
  30. Poor positioning by the referee!! In rugby they avoid being sucked into the scrum. Actually thought Crawford had a pretty good game as referee.
  31. I'm a bit baffled by the view that we played ok. Celtic ambled through the game as they knew that they did not have to do much more after scoring the early goal as we lacked any penetration and edge in the last third. In fact, I don't remember us ever being as toothless against Celtic since the first couple of seasons in the SPL (even when we ended up getting well beaten). As much as we slag Lennon off, Celtic knew how we would play and what our strengths are and ensured that we were (in general) not allowed to play to these. I thought we were crying out for Raven to give an ability to assist Watkins (who would not have been allowed to amble timidly through the game in the way he did under the old regime!) and switch Shinnie to the left back position to utilise the only real space on the pitch (nothing against Tremarco but he does not offer the same threat going forward). In many ways I don't want to pick out individual players for criticism, however Williams only seems to be able to run around and offer little else (though he seems to be able to cross a ball on occasion). Criticism of Ross and Doran was also wide of the mark and they at least put effort into trying to find space and make things happen. We seem to have lost that bit of sparkle in the last few games and I think Hughes has over reacted to the Aberdeen game by concentrating too much on stopping the opposition at the expense of attack. I appreciate that judging things against Celtic is not reflective of the majority of games, however the tepid performance against Partick shows that we have stopped getting at teams sufficiently. 1 point out of 9 over the space of a single week has probably changed our season for the worse.

Would it be an idea to have the flag framed in some way and get the club to secure it on the back wall of the North Stand?
  33. Agdestein hasn't had anything like enough time to prove himself this season so far. Coming on with 5-10 minutes to go when we're down (the usual scenario) or out of sight is of little use to him or us. He's not going to displace Billy as No. 1 striker, so what does he do? We couldn't go 2 up front against Celtic, Commons would have ripped up our midfield. His record in the under 20's is pretty good, he links and leads the line pretty well. Keep him I say, and give him chances when the games start to pile up in March/ April.
  34. I can't see what writing to the club's going to achieve. They have no control over individuals' ignorance. It's society to blame. Disabled parking spaces are abused all the time.
  35. I blame Scotty - the sooner the **** goes back to Canada the feckin better
  36. Don't feed the turkey bughtmaster
  37. I felt that we missed a great chance to get at least a point today - that was a poor Cellic team but we had no bite and lacked invention in the last third of the pitch - which looked in the worst playing condition fer a long feckin time. I really feel now more than ever that we need a target man up front to play with McKay - shure we look pretty when we play the ball at the back and in midfield but today we had 10 erstwhile Ray Wilkins and one wee forward - let's get back to 4-4-2 ASAP even if we gamble with Christie. Let's face it we never really looked like scoring apart from the Shinnie drive and wee Christie - never offside - could have eclipsed his Dad. I have to take in to account that we were playing Cellic but I felt that we gave them far too much respect and we sat too deep, played sideways and backwards far too often. We even looked happy to take a 1-0 defeat. I still feel Brill is dodgy and some of his kick outs were appalling - playing Raven and Shinnie is a feckin no brainer. Tremarco is solid but feck me this is a team game !! Warren and Meekings will always be solid - draper was my MOM - Ross was lost as was Williams - where e feck were they playing ? Watkins played better in the second half and hopefully he will run at County as he appears to be gaining in confidence.doran as ever went from yes to fer fecks sake - poor wee Billy must be so, so pished off.
  38. Actually we have a pretty good strike force as we are, it is just that they seem to have lost confidence in shooting. They seem to deliberate too long on the ball and when the shot does come it is too tentative. At the start of the season they were all banging them in and they seem to have lost that. An experienced striker that we could afford would either be too prima donnaish or at best little better than we have now so I would stick with what we have got and get Yogi to sort out the existing problems in training. I go along with the bring back Dave the rave factor and play Graeme where we did during the second half of the Aberdeen game. I would also shorten the contributions of Ross, Williams and Doran and sub them with young blood from time to time to increase place competition and sharpness. Young Christie proved that point today with his short but very active role. So I say keep what we have got in the transfer window if possible and replace only any that get whisked off.
  39. Shows how limited partick are when the Well can take 5 off them. The signs were there on Boxing Day, as somebody said they're useless in midfield but we just didn't show up. Two points dropped, probably more important than losing 3 points today.
  40. Good to see christie on the bench and getting some game time. Haven't seen alot of him but have heard good things about him. Wasn't scared and just got stuck in to te game taking on the celtic full backs.
  41. I don't see any reason for dropping Draper, but even if there was, who do we have who could come in for him? With Foran out, Draper is the only experienced midfielder we have who provides that sort of strength and presence. Polworth has barely played, and Devine isn't a midfielder. I also thought Doran's performance today was an improvement on the last few games: he maybe didn't present a very serious threat, but his movement and ball retention were better than they have been recently. Having been quite critical of him recently, i'd be inclined to keep him in against County and see if he can raise his level further. Personally I'd keep Ross in ahead of Williams, but if Hughes is determined to keep Williams playing in the deeper role and playing Ross off Mckay, then I could see an argument for replacing Ross with Ryan Christie a little farther down the line - initially using him as a sub and bringing him on earlier than he was introduced today, but if he builds on the promise that he showed today, then eventually starting games with him.
  42. Try supporting the inverness players instead of slating them!!!!

You are far from alone in being surprised by Hughes's appointment. You are far from alone in being disappointed by the appointment and very many of us doubt whether Yogi has the experience or ability to maintain our current position far less improve on it and it may well be that time will prove you and many of the rest of us were right all along. However, that said, I fail to see why you, or anyone else, are not prepared to give the man a chance and can't for the life of me see what's to be gained by constantly voiced negativity so early in the new manager's tenure. He may fail and his record to date suggests he probably will but at least give him the opportunity.
  44. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/aberdeen/257293-fourteen-for-14-our-list-of-young-players-to-watch-out-for-in-2014/ This link shows the upcoming players who are expected to shine in 2014 Evans is mentioned and now with Just McKay and Toby (was Toby's contract extended?) I reckon Evans could get a crack especially if McKay leaves. I'd also like to see Christie and Ferguson get more of a crack
