  1. I'll be very happy with a support of 7-8k. Obviously there will be a few non-ICT supporters among them, but I think the large majority of that number will be genuine ICT supporters. County taking a support three times the population of Dingwall to the Scottish Cup Final just reflects the amazing curiosity value that game had and says nothing about the respective size or status of the clubs, Yoda, a decent County poster on P&B, gave a pretty good insight into what it was like to be a genuine County supporter at that final: Having the hardcore support there is probably much better. It was great seeing 16,000 or so people in the County end but when people don't have a clue as to which player is which ("Which one is the one that scored against Celtic?") it became unbearable, particularly when they started streaming out at 3-0 without having the respect to show an appreciation of what the team had achieved in making the final. I'd far rather be surrounded by supporters who really care about the game than being swamped by an additional 10,000 people who don't really know or care what is going on. Would be good if more of the 7-8k stay with us and swell the home attendances after the final though.
  2. When it was the Scottish Cup in Dingwall far more people came to look at it. The same with the Qualifying Cup when Caley were in the final in1972! I realise it hasn't been on display yet. Just saving the "usual suspects" the trouble of posting!
  3. For all those on here fawning over the 40,000 tickets Aberdeen have sold, I ask you one question. Where were the other 28500 at todays home quarter final of the bigger Scottish Cup. If we took just 3000 fans I wouldn't care as those fans would be there to support the team and not attending for the sake of seeing a team with a passing interest in winning a trophy for the first time this century. When I take my place in Parkhead I will be watching the 11 players who represent my club and therefore me and don't care if I was the only one with my ICT colours on. I can't believe a true Caley Jags fan would start this thread let alone some of the truly negative and unrealistic expectations. We are what we are and I for one am very proud of this. #togetherNESS
  4. Get on the Cup Special train at Inverness. Get thrown off at Aviemore by BTP.

  6. To the Caley Thistle faithful, I have a Celtic bar 2 mins walk from the stadium. I am looking to make my bar the official home for your good natured fans come the big day. I will open all day long just for Caley thistle fans, good music and a large selection of drinks. We are called 'Paradise Bar' and are located at 65 tollcross road, Glasgow. Good luck and enjoy the day!

Just saw this on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/26488401 Realy sad news for former British number one and daughter of ICT''s first manager. She's clearly got one hell of a fighting spirit and she will certainly need that now. Treatment is improving all the time but that is not a good cancer to get. Let's just hope she can pull through and devote herself to what she recently said she wanted to do - coaching youngsters at the game she loves.
  9. I know the pics could be deceiving but they look smaller than I anticipated Thought the plan was to get one huge surfer flag? Anyway I really like the one on the left not keen on the other one though a bit cringeworthy Dougal
  10. Not living in Inverness any more, I've not seen the local press coverage, but assuming this is true, then I couldn't agree more. When Aberdeen were reaching finals regularly in the 80s, the P&J was a real fan sheet - my memories might be distorted through the prism of time, but the build-up seemed to go on for weeks. Given that there is a Highland edition of the paper, and that this is our first major final, surely they should be really pushing how big this day is for our club and encouraging everyone in the area to get behind us. Re Sneckboy's post above, I reckon that, for the fans at least, this is definitely the biggest day in our history. It's true that a high finish in the league, or a potential Scottish Cup final appearance, might mean more to the club in terms of finance, but we are one game away from having our name on one of the three major trophies in Scottish football; a trophy that has been competed for for 70-odd years (I think); something that even a well-established, regular top-flight club like St Johnstone has never won. Walking into Celtic Park at 2.25 next Saturday will almost certainly be my best experience as an ICT supporter to date; if Richie Foran lifts the cup at the end of it, it definitely will be the greatest.
  11. See the league cup at the CJT / ICT Eastgate stall tomorrow. Come along and see us at the Eastgate Shopping Centre tomorrow (Saturday). The stall will be open 9.30am to 4pm near Waterstones. You can pay for booked bus and train tickets and also buy train tickets, but be quick there's not many left now. Limited edition cup final merchandise will also be for sale along with ‪#‎ICT‬ flags and other items. Most exciting of all is that the ACTUAL REAL LIFE League Cup will be there from 12 noon on-wards! So come along take the kids and and get your picture taken, your travel tickets and some cup final gear all in one go! Look forward to seeing you there.
  12. Important point that. Hopefully that will keep the boys fired up and not be distracted by the game the following Sunday. Hibs and Motherwell drawing today was a good result for us because it also means that Motherwell's poor run continues and that improves our chance of a top 3 place. I Know that next Sunday is our first tilt at winning a major trophy and it will be a great occasion but we are still in the main cup competition and in with a great chance of a top 3 league place. Those must remain our top priorities. Going into the final knowing that top 6 is confirmed would be a great morale booster.

  14. Ha! Ha! Clever, like. !
  15. Why would it be an unrealistic expectation for there to be in excess of 10,000 at Parkhead for our first major final ? St Mirren and Kilmarnock each with similar home crowds to ours each took circa 16,000 to their recent League Cup finals. Motherwell which has a smaller population than Inverness took over 20,000 to Hampden for their last major final and our neighbours from Dingwall took 16,000 to theirs. Nobody is being negative or critical of those who are going who will support their club with pride and passion no matter how many or how few we are but there's no getting away from the fact that for whatever reason we have failed to engage with the casual supporter or non supporter in the way that most provincial clubs do on these occasions. Aberdeen will be backed by roughly four times their core home support whilst we will have just over twice ours. What I will say is that there is one final opportunity ahead to capture the imagination of those who have not yet bought tickets. Tomorrow's match is live on terrestrial TV. A victory and an entertaining performance backed up by a healthy noisy crowd might spark the enthusiasm of the waverers an a last minute mini surge of sales.

Quite perceptive of you....that's the last sausage roll I buy from there... In what is likely to be seen as our best season ever, I never thought folk would be complaining about the icing on the cake. European Qualification will be the icing on the cake...

Not quite true. Caledonian FC were once Inverness Caledonian FC but dropped the geographical prefix in the 80's when they thought that the then District Council were frustrating their desire to move to a new location in the Carse.

Someone needs to tell them there's never been an Inverness Caley
  20. Idiots I heard from a reliable scource that afc have been given more seats anyway I think it was 3000, for now.
  21. Got to add, that although I don't think they should be in our end as the game is segregated, it would be great if like rugby fans could safely mingle with out trouble, but that would be unlikely!
  22. Yes in our lounge they are more than welcome.

I have a pub 2 minutes walk from the stadium where the buses can park outside. It is called paradise bar and has both a bar and a lounge where children are more than welcome. We would love to host you. Where are at 65 tollcross road, maybe 400m from the stadium.
  24. You stay the feck away from it....Jonah! OK, bit harsh picking on me, but I will avoid eastgate today!

  30. . Walking into Celtic Park at 2.25 next Saturday will almost certainly be my best experience as an ICT supporter to date; if Richie Foran lifts the cup at the end of it, it definitely will be the greatest. Touch enthusiastic, maybe wait till the Sunday to turn up? Good to see that we've near sold out our initial allocation. Hopefully we'll hit it and get another few thousand sold to the last minute chancers. I also imagine this figure would have been from close of business yesterday so we might have sold through now. Friday could be pay day after all. Still eagerly waiting on my tickets in the post. In fairness I only bought them on Wednesday night ha ha!
  31. Noooohh - keep the cup away wait until we get our name and year engraved on it! Plenty time for pics then.
  32. We should play a second string team against Hibees. If we lose that will pee of the Naricissist and his co-dependents and would be even better with a draw or a win.
  33. I have got a skunk called Derek Adams.
  34. Sitting beneath say Kilmarnock or Partick fans would probably be fine. Unfortunately Aberdeen have a fair few mutants in their support who'll take great delight in ruining it for everyone.
  35. No! The league cup is the lesser of the 3 competitions we are in. Both because we are still in with a chance of winning the main cup competition and because there will be significant financial benefit in progressing against Dundee Utd, this Sunday's game is actually more important. Wednesday's game against Hibs is also more important as defeat there could have a serious impact in our bid for a top 3 place. Winning the final on Sunday would be a landmark for the club and obviously very nice but we need our strongest teams possible for the two games ahead of it. Agree. The quarter final of the premier knock out competition is every bit as important as the final the following week. We are only two games away from what would be an even more significant landmark in our history. No way should we be experimenting against United or using the match as any sort of rehearsal for the League Cup final.

When I saw this thread title I instantly assumed it was going to be a discussion about our team's long range shooting.
  37. I want County in the Premier League and furthermore would love to see Elgin and Peterhead join us.
  38. Spaces booked for you on Innes bus Bronson, orange juice and egg sarnies only tho'
  39. I like football. I love ICT but at times when benefits have been cut and dozens of families in Inverness relying on handouts from food banks there is no place for public funds being diverted, in whatever form, to a commercial football club.
  40. Many years ago I had a canary called Norwich. One day the neighbour's cat got in and managed to claw it through the bars of the cage, unfortunately fatally. As I literally booted the cat out of the house, I named it after Ross County, missing out the Ross, the "o" and the "y".
