  1. No one will be able to travel on our buses and trains unless they are in possession of a ticket. CaleyJagsTogether are going to be at the stadium from 3 to 5.30 this afternoon to allow those who have booked train tickets and bus tickets to pay - in cash only - and collect their tickets. For those who have not booked there are only tickets for train 2 - £10 for under-16s and £30 for all others. These will be issued on a first come first served basis and when they run out that is it. There will be a final chance to get your tickets at the Social Club in Greig Street from 6.30 to 7.30 tomorrow evening. The buses and trains have been organised by the board of Caley Jags Together who are all volunteers and have given up masses of hours since the semi-final to make it possible for fans to travel at prices massively subsidised with assistance from Highland Council and Tulloch Homes. Please come and get your tickets and allow us to start to get psyched up for Sunday ourselves. Thank you.

I hope he makes the bench. He was a breath of fresh air last night.
  3. Forgot to factor in the Aussie refuseniks. At least 12 of the 10 will boycott the game because of the merger.
  4. Be fascinating to see if you get a response, GoldenDelicious! Using a very unscientific method based on assumption and ratios, there could well be roughly 10 ex-Pat ICT fans in Sydney. UK population 63,000,000, Inverness 63,000 (1 in 1000 are Invernessians) Estimated UK diaspora population in Australia = 1,300,000 (1,300 Invernessians) Population of Sydney (3,500,000) relative to Australia (23,500,000) = apprx 15% 15% of the 1,300 Invernessians = 195 in Sydney With ICT's average home support being around 1 in 20 of the population of Inverness, 1/20 of 195 = 10. Just a rough 'ball park' guesstimate! Good luck tracking them down!
  5. Also still some spaces on train 2 leaving 9.25am and going straight through to Queen Street and onward to Belgrove which is a 10 - 15 min walk to Parkhead. Train tickets will be available tomorrow night at the social club, Greig Street from 6.30pm - 7.30pm

From what little I have seen, young Christie has huge potential but what do I know about judging young players ? When I saw a 16 year old Martin Bavidge come on to make his debut I turned to my companion and confidently predicted that we were watching a future Scotland international. Subject to that major caveat, I personally would have him on the bench ahead of Polworth.
  7. League Cup is the first available option - so take it if it comes. Europe might still be available for fourth place if Aberdeen finished second but won the Scottish Cup. It could still be fourth if Motherwell dropped away and Dundee United overtook ICT and won the Scottish Cup. Only Sunday matters - we cannot get relegated this season so let's just do it!
  8. I know he didn't get much game time but I thought young Christie showed up extremely well. He has developed a bit of bite to his game and we all know he can score goals. This young man must be on the bench this Sunday because I really feel he could be a match winner if taken on earlier in the game.

Having seen Christie play a part (20 minutes or so) in a number of games I have to admit to being very impressed. I predict that, barring injuries, this lad can make it right to the top. He offers "something different" and has the ability to open up defences with sheer ability and "sees" passes that very few others can. I realise that there is very stiff competition for a place on the bench for Sunday's game but, this young lad is very, very good and must be seriously considered.

Safe journey to all those travelling to/from the Piggery on Sunday. Obviously, as underdogs, I'll be rooting for yourselves - and to anyone who says it's a Diddy Cup, just ask fans of the other 40 Clubs who'd bite yer hand off to be there. It's a real pity about the travelling numbers - and the apparent apathy within the City. Looks like folks from Aberdeen support Aberdeen while folks from Inverness support Rangers/Celtic/Ross County. Enjoy your day.
  11. Watch out for Ken Barlow.

I'd love to see Christie get a start on Sunday. What was it that Matt Busby used to say?
  13. . Who cares? me, that's why I asked the question. Will be quite disturbing if a City the size of Inverness can't produce more fans than Gretna

I`d also love to see him involved. Just remember 17 yr olds the likes of Derek Johnstone when starting out at Rangers, Wayne Rooney Everton, Norman Whiteside at Man Utd.

Give him a start on Sunday, he seems keen to go forward with the ball in the general direction of the opposition goal which is a good sign. And he is 18 now?

Great post and fully agree with this. Imagine Pawlett getting the freedom that was afforded to United on Sunday!?

The defence picks itself, in Warren's absence - Brill, Raven, Devine, Meekings and Shinnie. Mckay up front obviously. I think there's a good chance that Vincent was rested last night because he will start on Sunday, which is fine by me. In my opinion we've been best this season when Vincent has been playing between midfield and attack. He has such a great engine, and a terrific knack for being in the right place to pick up loose balls. He is capable of providing quick support for Mckay or of becoming an extra midfield player as is needed. If we play Foran in that position, he doesn't cover enough ground and it probably becomes a 4-4-2, which leaves us a man short in the centre of the pitch. Assuming he's fit, Doran is a certain starter. I always feel he is more effective in combination with Raven on the right, but playing Watkins gives us more height and an alternative option for Brill and the defenders to aim at if they need to go long. Therefore I'd have Doran on the left, Watkins on the right, and Nick Ross unfortunately misses out because I think there's too big a chance that the game will pass him by. That leaves space for two central midfielders, and Foran, Draper and Tansey to choose from (if you think Polworth should be anywhere near the lineup then you need your head examined). Foran simply has to play, not least because of the leadership he provides. He also offers an aerial presence in an attacking and defensive sense. I tend towards Draper's physical presence rather than Tansey's passing ability...as long as there is a plan in place to stop Pawlett getting behind our midfield with the ball at his feet. So, in conclusion: Brill Raven Devine Meekings Shinnie Draper Foran Watkins Vincent Doran Mckay Subs: Esson, Tremarco, Tansey, Williams, Ross
  18. Europe will be a fun novelty for the club but it is unlikely to yield anything in terms of a return. It is very expensive will mean we will lose money as the preliminaries don't give much in prize money and we are unlikely to get very far anyway. That said it would be wonderful for the club to represent Scotland on a European front but to before that we need build towards. Sunday is a massive day for the club and most people have eluded that it could be the makings of the next chapter for the club to go forward. Being a Man Utd fan i understand when people say the Scottish is more important and i would agree to wanting to win the FA Cup more than the league cup. But i don't understand this apathy towards the league cup in Scotland as it is a trophy and lets be honest there are only two trophies a club outside the old firm will ever win as the league will always be one of them two. If we win on Sunday it will be one of the greatest days i will ever have being at a sporting event and i am sure a lot of others feel the same. The league cup should be given the same amount of respect as the Scottish cup for a club our size as a trophy is a trophy and we have earned being in the final just to take the last hurdle.

For once i agree with you.
  20. There is only 1 answer. Winning a cup is what football is all about. Just wish it was the Scottish Cup. Europe will come one day but many teams histories are defined by cup wins. St. Mirren 87, Motherwell '91, Hearts '98 '06, Killie '97 '12, Partick Thistle '71. These dates roll off the top of my head but who remembers when they finished third in the league and got one or two rounds in Europe? A cup win will be somthing that is remembered and celebrated for decades to come. Many of these teams have special celebrations for the annaversary of their wins. We can join that. Some teams like St. Johnstone have never won a major trophy and other established clubs haven't won one in 30-40 years +

Did you even watch the game yesterday. Williams was superb. ??? Care to elaborate your point? I assume it is your statement that Williams was superb. He wasn't! He was better than most but he was far from superb. Had he been superb I think we would have had rather more that just 4 attempts on goal. Collectively our attacking midfied was very poor last night. Williams was simply the best of a bad bunch. On an individual performance I thought Danny Williams was ICT man of the match. He was bursting with so much energy and put in a decent shift. Fair enough, superb was probably over exaggerating it but certainly no way I would have him miss out the final. Sure Ryan Christie done well when he came on but I'd rather see Danny Williams on the bench or even starting - remember our last game vs Aberdeen. I don't disagree regarding Williams being more deserving (if this is the correct description) than Ryan of a place. Bursting with energy perhaps but in the middle of the park he tends to run around a lot and achieve very little. Definately not superb last night - adequate perhaps (just?). For what its worth I would start with him wide left. The unfortunate thing about League Cup is that you can only have 5 subs and one of them has to be a goalkeeper. In an ideal world we should have both Williams and Christie on the bench at least. Don't get me wrong, it would be a tremendous achievement for Ryan to be on the bench on Sunday but due to the lack of spaces it may come a bit short. I think the way the game panned out last night, the team as a whole failed to achieve anything - maybe cup final on the minds. Left wing is going to be between Watkins, Ross and Williams and I personally think Yogi will go with Nick Ross. Recalling last night, Nick put in a good shift too.

  24. Saturday - 11am to 12pm 8aside kickabout at the Sports Village, then 1.15pm Brazilian meat feast at Hey Brazil, before 3pmish train to Glasgow. Head to a few pubs in the evening to catch up with Dons supporting mates. Sunday - get up at hotel, go for a swim, sauna and steam room. Big Breakfast, then head to somewhere central for 11am pint (Horseshoe maybe). Probably go to Bierhalle at 12pm for decent beer and 2 for 1 pizzas, then walk London Road to the game at 1.30ish.

  26. Not too many positives I'm afraid. Clean sheet against probably the poorest opposition I've seen this season is no great acheivement. What is worrying is the lack of penetration up front. To be honest we looked much more likely to score on Sunday against Dundee Utd than we did tonight. Having only 4 attempts at goal is a fair reflection of just how poor an attacking performance that was. Doran gave the poorest performance I've seen from him for a while but to fair to him there was rarely much movement in front of him and his options were limited. Foran had an OK game in defensive midfield and Williams did enough to earn a place on the bench. As often is the case, Ross flattered to deceive - some nice touches but no real end result. I'm not sure why Polworth keeps getting chances. He has potential and plays the occasional incisive pass but far too often he gives the ball away under no pressure at all. If Hibs hadn't been hell bent on giving it straight back half the time, these errors could have been severely punished. I would much rather see the likes of Pepper and Greenhalgh be given more of a chance. However, I suppose we have to be happy enough with a point. With Shinnie, Raven and Vincent rested and Draper, Tansey and Watkins suspended, we were a very much weakened side. I am sure we will have a much improved performance on Sunday but players need to take responsibility in the final third. We are not going to beat Aberdeen by constantly puimping high balls for wee Billy. We need to get the ball on the deck and we need our midfielders looking to shoot.

  30. Quite like it myself. The line about Foran, Doran and the brick wall that is Gary Warren is good.
  31. It's the Cup final song, not the Official Club song. It is officially endorsed by the club....and whilst released in conjunction with the cup final, was written to be used (and adapted) in future.
  32. Above is correct as I was at at 1 off the venues and players informed venue last week they would not be available so nothing to do with result. As a result of the confusion the club have agreed to send players to schools on Thursday. We all know the club is good in the community and nothing has changed.

  35. To all offenders (if we have any on here)- enough with the kind requests. Get your fingers out and get these guys paid. They are giving up a huge amount of their own time to organise YOUR transport. They have a day out to plan and enjoy too.
