I was up in Dornoch visiting my Granny yesterday and had a wee read of her copy of the Northern Times. In it was this story about a young ICT fan who had lost the ICT top he had gotten as a present. He wrote to the club explaining what had happened so ICT got him fixed up with a mascot package. He got to train with and meet the players, have a tour of the stadium, get his programme signed, run out onto the pitch as the mascot with Graeme Shinnie and, of course, got his top replaced. Top work from the club!

Very sad news. Given the Baltacha family attachment to both ICT and St. Johnstone a minutes silence at our game this week would be a fitting tribute from all in Inverness and Perth?

The club have continued to freeze their season ticket prices for the 4th year in a row! http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1279-201415-season-tickets
  4. Newcastle United. Since we first made the SPL their record of 'level' played at has exactly mirrored ours! 2004/05 - Both 'top flight' 2005/06 - Both 'top flight' 2006/07 - Both 'top flight' 2007/08 - Both 'top flight' 2008/09 - Both Relegated 2009/10 - Both promoted back as Champions at the first attempt 2010/11 - Both 'top flight' 2011/12 - Both 'top flight' 2012/13 - Both 'top flight' 2013/14 - Both 'top flight'

YES, AND I AM GLAD THAT YOU REMINDED US OF THAT PARTICULAR FANTASTIC GQAL AND CONTROL 0F THE BALL IN A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION. Essentially that goal put us into the final and a load of money into the club coffers. .

I've emailed the club with a request, not only for a minutes silence, which will also be held at the Madrid masters, but a possibility of having t-shirts made with "Rally for Bally on for the players during warm up, and the event donation site on the t-shirt too, as well as a possible half time whip round. Whereas, quite fairly Yngwie you point out that the club cannot have a minutes silence for everyone with any connection to the club, it would be fitting that such a young person who is the child of a former player and manager of both clubs be recognised, and if anything used to raise money for the cause she herself was behind. The justgiving site is http://www.justgiving.com/rallyforbally in case anyone would like to donate. I shall be doing so.

What a horrible, horrible disease - Elena vowed to give it her all but succumbed within a couple of months. Let's hope that the Rally for Bally makes a mint for the Elena Baltacha Foundation and helps us find a treatment. RIP

Tragic, such a sad outcome for one so young. No parent deserves to bury their child. And we bicker about football!
  9. I wonder if anyone else was as disgusted as I was with the events at Parkhead yesterday? Bit of a rhetorical question as I know some certainly were. The Green Brigade now having set up camp next door to visiting fans is ridiculous. There weren't that many Caley Thistle fans there but we usually manage to make a wee bit of noise to support our team. No chance yesterday as we were totally drowned out by the G B. I have no issue with them as a group but it would be better if they were put back over to the other side of the stand where they used to be, among their own fans. This would give visiting fans a fighting chance of building up a wee bit of momentum in their own singing. Then of course there was the case, in my eyes, of child abuse/ endangerment in front of the Green Brigade. A man with a child of maybe 3 on his shoulders, fair enough. But jumping up and down, clapping etc and not holding on to that child. I, and others, could not bear to look latterly. 4 police officers and 16 stewards were all looking in the direction of this man but nothing was done. I went to complain to a police officer at the end of the game - showed a photo also but the response was that if anyone had thought there was a danger something would have been done. Also everything is covered on CCTV so if anything is subsequently noticed action will be taken. If that child had fallen and been killed I wonder what the public enquiry would have found? Anyhow we made our way out of the stadium to the news that our drummer had not only had his drum wrenched away from him by one Celtic fan, he had also been hit on the back of the head by another. So we were all advised to get on the bus and make our way to the police station where statements would be taken from the witnesses. The main concern seemed to be getting the traffic flowing. After visit to police station we then proceeded on our way nome only for a missile to be hurled at our bus. The score somehow faded into insignificance. I have never had an issue with Celtic fans at Parkhead before but after yesterday I don't know if I will ever go back. Rant over.
  10. Ex ICT player Robert Eagle scored the opening goal in his sides Lowestoft Town's 3-0 victory over i Hornchurch FC in the play off final to gain promotion to the Conference in front of a crowd of 2970 at The Meadow this afternoon

Charlie Bannerman has mentioned a cycle track leading to the stadium two weeks running in his Highland News articles. Anyone know where it is? I cycle regularly to the games from the harbour direction and haven't seen it. It cannot be on the right hand side as you head to the park as cars are always banked up off road. On the left there is a short pavement but nothing resembling a cycle track to my knowledge. Last Saturday there were 3 bikes parked up at the racks at the front of the stadium, 2 of them were electric bikes and my old wreck. Perhaps if there is a cycle track, and it was sign posted, more folk may take advantage.
  12. I'm sure he will be along soon to invite himself along to Dundee's games in the SPFL next season. Congratulations and welcome back, your craic has been sorely missed, just watch the PC brigade don't piss you off!
  13. They've got a bridge and castle too.
  14. Do you want to tell us more about that or would it be inappropriate for a family forum?
  15. I would say Swansea City, the way we play is very close to the way Swansea play, also their current manager is is a club legend going from player to captain to manager which i can see Richie doing. Both ICT Swansea have a great relationship with their community with the Jack Army and the players doing a lot of fund raising for local charity's

Whenever the subject of Nick Ross comes up people always seem to say he's too small, lightweight, needs to bulk up etc..this is a load of nonsense. Yes he is small in frame and can at times be pushed off the ball but bulking up will not change that. What he needs is someone i.e coaching staff to teach him how to use his body to protect the ball and make the most of the frame he has. Technically he is one of the best players we have at the club adding to much muscle mass quickly over a pre season say could be detrimental to the attributes he already has. If John Hughes is determined to play the "barcelona" way surely having one of the best passers in our team on the bench or getting 30 seconds at the end shows how inept he really is.

As a childhood friend of his he's the one who got us into the final by scoring the equaliser goal against hearts before the penalties. He a great young player yea he may get pushed over the ball many times but he always gets back up and makes good passes and great game play.

Nick is one of the most frustrating players I've watched over the last few seasons. I've great respect for the lad but sometimes he just isn't suited to the game he's playing. Is he one of those who only excels against certain teams. He may get pushed of the ball many times but then he'll put in a fantastic cross. As to the substitution, I'm sure Nick knows the reason for not starting and the reason for coming on in the last minute. This is a team sport and Nick is a team player so why should it bother him?

Very sad to lose anyone so young. My neighbour died recently of the same illness, only 3 weeks after finding out she had it. The question of whether someone's death merits a minutes silence is a very tricky one for the club, and they have to consider the precedent it sets (family members of people who were once part of the club?). As far as I'm aware Elena had nothing at all to do with ICT (or St Johnstone for that matter) and I'm sure there are stronger cases that have been knocked back, such as prominent and longstanding supporters of the club. It would be wrong to ignore her passing altogether though and I'm sure the club will come up with something suitable.

Gutted to hear the news. Elena was an inspiration through battling to the top of her sport in spite of having a very debilitating liver condition and to be taken so soon is so cruel. A big loss to the ICT family and thoughts are with her family and friends. Hopefully a rally for bally whip around and a minutes silence can be arranged for the upcoming game. I'll be emailing the club with a request and hopefully others can join me. I think that's the very least we can do for her legacy, and help raise funds for further liver research in the process. RIP Bally!

Sad news indeed. Having lost my own sister to cancer at 22, I know that losing a sibling/child at such a young age is devastating to a family both now and in the future when those left behind look around and wonder what might have been. My thoughts and best wishes are with the Baltacha family now and for the years to come. Also think it entirely appropriate for ICT and St Johnstone to show respect in some way at the forthcoming game given the Baltacha connection to both clubs.
  22. Dundee United players are now doing this every week since Mcnamara has been their manager, feckin cheats!
  23. Cheers Mannie, eh'm touched! Bad planning by my travel secretary means I'm sunning myself in Tennerife and wasn't even at the gemme, but got live stream working in the pub much to the amusement of locals and staff who wondered what the excitement and frenzy was all about! As word of the bizarre Accies-Morton score filtered through and Dumbarton scored it had nightmare finish written all over it, thankfully not and hectic night in Las Americas ensued with mate and wives. See ya next year in the Innes/ Caley club :-)))))
  24. Looks like the ref wasn't the only clueless person today! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-match-reports/dundee-united-1-inverness-ct-3492415 Tannadice? Really? Some ground-share that.
  25. Was staying at Fairways and rushed back to get last orders - barman served me and said "how was the bowling Johndo" - I replied "how do you know I've been bowling ." He leant over the bar and pointed to my feet - still had the feckin bowling shoes on.

We finished top six for the second season in a row and made a major cup final for the first time in our history which we only lost on penalties. Our player of the season (at least who I voted for) came through our youth system and is often captain when Foran is out. We have two local youth team players on the fringes who could go on to great things if given the chance. Nick Ross's equaliser. For the fiist time in as long as I can remember the majority of the squad is signed up for next season (these are the same players who played so well at the beginning of the season, it can happen again) We are not Hibs. We are entering our 20th year of awesomeness! It has kinda felt to me that the season has been over since Rooney's penalty in the final. Yes there has been a lot to play for but the generally feeling about the club (players, fans and management) has been that we are limping to the end. We don't have the squad to compete at the top for the whole season. I'm okay with that, 20 years on from the beginning I'd have never thought it possible.

My money's on them equaling that record. Hope not tbh. Would rather it stayed with a team that played for buttons....
  28. Hearach, that is by no means a rant that is a very accurate account of our visit to Parkhead yesterday... I too witnessed the incident with the child and tried to stress how dangerous it was to the police in attendance , but came away absolutely disgusted at there attitude as apparently its quite in order in Glasgow to jump up and down at the top of a concrete stairway with a child on your shoulders and not holding on to him ... As for the Green Brigade Im afraid they ruined our fans effort of support .As a fan I don't suppose My voice will be heard but I would hope the club could speak on our behalf or there is no point in us attending .The incident of the drum just sickened all on our bus I was heart sore for the boy involved as he is a very quite polite young boy who attends regular and for a lowlife to do what he did is just beyond comprehension.I know including myself that there were fans on the bus who would be more than happy to donate towards a new drum for him .Whether he would want to take it to matches well that would be his choice and nobody could blame him if he chooses not to. I hope he has not been too traumatised by it.
