  1. 11 mins of highlights from RR TV ... http://www.raithrovers.net/raithtv?vid=328
  2. Possible banana skin - should win game - Raith cup final and nothing to lose - pressure on Yogi and team as loss would have been highly criticised - anti climax to season - No injuries - No bookings - clean sheet - next round - trip to Hampden - second year in a row - nofeckinbadmun

Hampden. End of story. We have won the right to play there. I dont care if only 3000 turn up, has to be Hampden

Semis-finals should not be at the national stadium because it detracts from the honour of getting there for the final! This is particularly true in Scotland when very few teams will have sufficient support to generate a decent atmosphere in such a large stadium. However, the SFA rules are what they are and, despite my reservations above, I'm delighted the players will get to play there - I just hope it is twice in quick succession!

Aye lizi I know where you are coming from and agree wholeheartedly. however ......Shifty, Turkey and stuffed seem to go well together so maybe a good roasting will be on the cards this time.

I don't think you have a hope in h..l of that outcome. Maybe I am cynical but I think a certain Club Chairman's megabucks may be involved somewhere, but, don't quote me and I name no names. Umpteen appeals upheld ? How many of ours have ever been upheld - even when genuine evidence - once again money talks. Ciftci is a cheat, a thug and a disgrace to Scottish football and the sooner he goes back to Turkey, the better.
  7. Many thanks RR TV - I missed most of match due to prior engagement - but these 11 minutes are very worthwhile watching and better than any BBC TV have done. Again, well done RR TV.
  8. Great stuff 11 minutes and they struggled to show any bits where their own team actually touched the ball.
  9. Ferguson and Blackett, got the goals today.

To win and get to the final....
  11. Chuffed to get through but it wasn't a great performance from us. A good number of half chances from close range and some decent long range efforts but overall we were very wasteful. Watkins somehow missed an open goal from about a yard out. Raith created very little. Their best chance came in the first half when Stewart (I think) flashed a ball in and it evaded Esson and one Raith player before going past the post. The only goal came from a Tansey corner which Devine met at the back post after he stepped off his man and simply nodded the ball in off the post. Solid effort from the Raith fans in attendance. Maybe 300 of them. Poor home crowd. Whilst it wasn't a great performance from Inverness the incredible negativity from the stands was something else. You'd think we were fighting relegation this season the way people were talking.
  12. From the highlights mosty one way traffic... the biggest threat to us was some misplaced passing to the opposition usually with little cover in place (must be a lesson to be learnt somewhere in that!)
  13. Yeah - well done Raith Rovers TV. Good club and good fans. The game wasn't helped by the pitch, which was a reason so many chances went begging.
  14. Don't care where, when or whether or not it is on tele. We have made it to a semi-final and I will be there cheering my team on. Cmon Inverness.
  15. Well done to Raith Rovers and that's without all the money the BBC get in licence fees!
  16. And not quite 2 from the BBC

Normally I would have thought that refusal of the proffered punishment' if found guilty. would be a very much harsher punishment. My fingers are crossed that this will be the case and they throw the book at him, also the Club should be fined for being an accessory to an obvious breach of the rules and encouraging acts of violence.

Why am I not surprised? But I actually think there is more of a case for appeal in this one. I fail to see any dubiety or alternative explanation about the assault on Warren but I am sure Utd will argue that the movement of Ciftci's boot into Brown's head was accidental and was simply part of the movement to get up off the ground as quickly as possible in order to keep up with the play. TBH I think it might be difficult to prove intent in this case. It is interesting to see the clip because Ciftci makes himself scarce pretty quick and then, when play breaks down and the referee is aware there is a stramash going on, Ciftci is gesturing to the referee as if to say "Look ref, there's some trouble over there and it's got nothing to do with me!" To my mind that speaks volumes about his intention. If he had not intentionally kicked out at Brown and therefore been keen to draw attention away from himself, you can bet your bottom dollar he would have got involved in the mêlée involving Butcher and Van Dyke (but not Paton!).
  20. Then that is where it should be !

To me it appeared they couldn't get our game out of the way quick enough, so that they could start talking about all things Rangers.
  22. Playing Kilmarnock at the TCS right now! 2-0 up! Approaching H/T From Twitter: 1-0 Chris Blackett goal - played through by Liam Polworth for a one-on-one with the 'keeper 2-0 another surging Polworth run sees the ball finding Ali Sutherland who squares for Calum Ferguson to net

I really hope they take this opportunity to punish him properly this time. He has flouted the rules and his club have supported or minimised his thuggery many times already this season .... thats not over-exuberance or a rush of blood ... that's a pattern of behaviour. if there is any common sense at the SFA whatsoever then the punishment will be quite stiff and although they cant retrospectively adjust the previous judgments perhaps they can be harsher with this one to compensate. there is no place for this kind of behaviour in our game and I am thoroughly disgusted at both the player and his club for this whole situation. If he were at our club, I would have the same opinion!!!

I feel sorry for BBC Radio pundits watching us play - we pass the ball so well and so often that they can't keep track of where the ball is and what players are involved. They don't get time to pull out their drivelly cliches they prepared earlier. I was on my sick bed last night and it drove me batty trying to work out where the ball was on the pitch last night in amongst the usuall gibberrish. Even open all mikes might have been on a par.
  25. Well I travelled up for this game and had a couple of pre-matchpintsin Innes. Not a soul there that I knew and only a half dozen in bar. Think they were preparing for a pool match. Anyway I thought we played some very good football but we were struggling against a very strong defence. Raith never looked like doing any more than defend. I think they had one corner and no real attack in the whole game. Ofere had a good game but wasn't allowed to really perform. My MoM was Ryan Christie. Yes he skyed a few chances be he also put a number of good crosses into the box and created a few half chances for others. All in all Raith came here looking to stop us scoring in the hope of a replay in Kircaldy and they done a very good job of that for most of the game. The semi will be a different kettle of fish regardless of who we're up against but I believe if we continue to play like can then a final is there for the taking.
  26. "Job done" is about the best one can say for that. Sticky pitch didn't help though. Ofere looked useful but needs more and better crosses. Kink looks to have quick feet and promises to offer something quite different. I look forward to seeing him play a but more. Doran looked to have a desire to get on the ball and be more positive in his approach. I would like to see him back in the starting line up. In the post match interview Yogi said that he hoped success in the cup would help give us momentum in the league and went on to say that another 2 or 3 games should secure top six. Perhaps someone could give him the good news that top six is already secured!

He was always suspended from the LC Final, a booking in the Semi Final took him over the limit. It is not clear which two games the ban would relate to. In Warren's case, it was the next two games (but that was a league game). When McCulloch was cited and banned, his two games were the next game in any competition, and the next Scottish Cup game. In either case, this would mean Ciftci missing the two Celtic games after the LC Final - the first is a Cup game so if the ban had a Scottish Cup element that would cover that, meaning the Celtic league game would be the next game in any competition. As these are the next two games he is available for, those two games would be covered by the next two games outcome. The current SFA disciplinary rules are difficult to fathom at times, and I can't find them published anywhere (they used to be on the SFA website, but I can't seem to find them). It would help if the published them for all to see, and so we would only need to speculate about whether the punishment will actually be, rather than how it will be served.
  28. The BBC have rights to the Scottish Cup. They have already shown their preference (see link http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-cup although they do indicate dates can change) to show the 3pm kick off game on the Saturday for the Falkirk v Hibernian semi final which is good news for ICT if both games are at 3pm. We clearly do not want a 12.45 kick off on the Sunday. On the Sunday Sky Sports appears to have covered their slots so BT Sports would be the other option but ''Scottish Cup matches are currently broadcast live by both BBC Sport Scotland in Scotland and Sky Sports across the rest of the United Kingdom and also into Ireland.'' Sky schedule: Sat 18th April Arsenal 15:00 Sunderland Crystal Palace 15:00 West Bromwich Albion Everton 15:00 Burnley Hull City 15:00 Liverpool Leicester City 15:00 Swansea City Stoke City 15:00 Southampton Chelsea 17:30 Manchester United Sky Sports 1 Sun 19th April Manchester City 13:30 West Ham United Sky Sports 1 Newcastle United 16:00 Tottenham Hotspur Sky therefore have a slot at 12.30 on the Saturday. BT Sports are free to show the game at 3 pm on the Sunday and I guess we request that time now now regardless of opposition. If Celtic get through a 12.45 kick off on the Saturday or Sunday in Glasgow gives them an enormous advantage. http://www.live-footballontv.com/ http://www.live-footballontv.com/live-scottish-football-on-tv.html Whilst it will be great to play at Hampden, it will not be great playing the second of two semis because the pitch might resemble Aintree after the Grand National. So there is logic, if Dundee United beat Celtic playing the game at Pittodrie on the Sunday at 3pm.
  29. You do know that this competition is run by the SFA?
  30. I'm assuming the match containing the largest club will be played last. Which means it is possible that if united win, our match may be on a Saturday. Only based that on how the media seem to work.
  31. Great to reach the semi final, not the most riveting of games but job done, no injuries/bookings. New boys looking useful and will only get better with more game time. Happy choppy, roll on Hampden

The sad thing is that both Shifty and Scott Brown have talent.....
  33. Got the job done! Listening on the radio it sounded like we were well on top....be interested in how our new striker Ofere is viewed by you guys Before the match I decided to take a punt on booking a hotel for Glasgow.....not for the semi though! Normally I would view that as tempting fate, but hope springs eternal this year for me
  34. Besides the result itself, and reaching our first Scottish Cup semi-final as a top flight club, we didn't pick up any yellows (or reds) so no suspensions for Hampden.
  35. Good game to watch with Raith not really coming into it much until going a goal down and even then we snuffed out any attack they made. Good composure and discipline from the team to pass the ball around safely when 1-0 up near the end, which is far better than giving it away at one end and letting them score at the other to force a replay. Scottish cup semi- Bring it on.

If you were not so obsessed with your risible attempts at stereotyping or professing support for a party one of who's spokespeople 'only has issues with negroes' it might not have escaped your attention that there is more than one poster on this thread who has, in other fora, expressed support for independence. I have encountered few if any Nationalists who are in the least narrow minded far less so warped as to take delight in failure at a quintessentially English sport which, world wide, has almost as many followers and active participants as football.
