  1. Early clearance from Ridgers ends up in the famous Brechin hedge...new ball required. New ball needed again as Elsdon fires one in the hedge Now you don't get this at the Bernabeu. Lower league football has a charm all of its own.
  2. Open up the west to standing only, pay at the gate £10 just like the old days. 200 people would generate an extra £2,000 less the cost of one turnstile operator and a couple of security bods. The tickets could be sold at the shop which would allow people to pay by card if they wished to. The price of seats is too expensive for those on low incomes/pensions. Some of my relations who were season ticket holders have refused to pay this seasons prices and have made the board aware of it. Creating a standing area would give the board an opportunity to rectify their pricing without upsetting ST holders and may attract back those who baulked at this seasons prices.

Great away day. Very welcome in the stadium bar and excellent soup and catering. Topped of with a win and a clean sheet. What more could you ask for
  4. The best people tend to be.
  5. Great news that Polly had a good game.
  6. Polworth was my man of the match today. Good performances from Cooper, Trafford, Raven and Vigurs for his two goals. When we get our injured players playing again, I can see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel. AND THATS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD HAVE SAID LAST WEEK. It was nice to see our Chairman at the front of the stand clapping our players as they left the field.
  7. what a result. Finally have a smile back on my bake. With other results going our way too lets build on this
  8. I don't care where Falkirk end the season other than lower down than us.
  9. Falkirk, a team I'm sure many would expect to be top half this season, are 4 nil down at home v QOTS! The championship will have many twists and turns especially in the early part of the season. I don't expect them to be down there all season though.
  10. Dundee Utd and Falkirk both on the wrong end of a hiding today :)
  11. That will be Vigurs again then! It may be Brechin but it's good for the confidence for sure!
  12. Its the least of our worries imho anyway
  13. Yes we tend to forget that quite a lot of these players have had very limited careers, and we have had quite a turnover, yet we are hoping that they will gell instantly and give us a promotion winning effort. Given our limited financial muscle we have clearly punched well above our weight in recent years which has raised expections amongst us all that can't be achieved in the short term. We now have very few 'senior' players of which Warren is probably past his peak (and getting injured a fair bit), Raven is I think considered past his (Hughes obviously thought that, Robbo perhaps the same) I think some fans want him in for his experience and that SC goal! That leaves Vigurs and who (?) to provide the foundation and encouragement for the younger players. The situation with OFW seems worse than I thought.
  14. If I recall correctly from the open night, Robbo said that Fon Williams had a release clause in his contract if ICT got relegated, so why is he still here? Should he not be a free agent now? Surely he can't have it both ways. He doesn't want to play but wants paid! And as I recall when Robbo was talking about the new players bedding in and it would take time, a supporter down the front said, play your best defender Raven then, and if I heard correctly, Robbo's answer was, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I know he said that his legs have gone, but he still has an experienced defensive brain and he can be an influence to the younger players. In my opinion you always need a blend of youth and experience. Time will tell.
  15. I meant it is closing fast for Fon Williams if he is genuinely after a move away.
  16. He certainly isn't going to earn a living from his 'art'.

The point is, and was made by JR at the meeting on Monday night, that at 33 (Raven's age I think), the manager advised Raven's agent that he would not be offered a new contract in January so it would be helpful to both club and player to try and find a new deal now. Primary reason was JR felt Raven's legs had gone basically, plenty of evidence for that from last season and this, and hard to disagree with this. If we get promoted, would we still be playing Raven next season, don't think so. Fans need to remember that what Raven has done for us in the past is not going to be possible in the future. Having said that, Robbo made it clear that if Raven still with us, he would play when needed and would play this weekend. Some fans seem to think Raven can still perform as a couple of seasons ago but I doubt it and whether he is better or otherwise than some players signed is immaterial.

It may be old news but still worth making the point that Raven has been a fine servant and would improve our defence just now. It makes no sense whatsoever to be paying him but not fully utilising him.
  19. Redcard - please don't forget to tell him that his Pride of the Highlands badge/crest does not help in any marketing or credibility exercise!!
  20. Try the Philosophy Department at the likes of Edinburgh or Oxford Universities. They have long traditions of examining the question of whether God exists so may be able to help with CJT. The only difference is that God doesn't have a 10% stake in ICT - which began to become quite evident during last season.
  21. 50/50 draws to be electronic as well as walk up. Subscription with number of lines as per lottery. That way the club generates money home and away and the ticket sellers are dealing with less cash . Alter prizes to include a caley unique items from that game. A signed program with comments from team or manager for away games as well. Costs little builds connection. Mom shirt signed instead of ball sometimes. Ball signed by goalscorer with times date of goals etc. Use the uniqueness of the prize to drive appeal and subscription if always a ball people get tired.
  22. I understand he was due severance, but it is a matter of months not years, so the worry over this can be put behind us. Anyway, whatever he gets is dwarfed by the £1m he cost us in relegation Time to move on.

Raven rightly a legend for his semi final goal and the celebration where he was clearly as surprised as us! A real shame he was injured for the final. The club should commit for this full season and then take a view, he deserves fair treatment. I really thought he was being primed to come on at half time against Morton, but that didn't happen and he just got a few minutes after Seedorf was sent off.
