  1. Just wanted to share something I heard today. Im sure some of you may have seen the the great clip of the wee boy celebrating last tuesday night? Well Peter Paul managed to track him down yesterday and arranged for him to meet the players, get pictures and I think he was on pitch with them at the warm up.Thought this was a lovely thing to do so a big well done to Peter!!
  2. Two wins on the bounce at home , through to the next round of Scottish Cup, what’s not to like ?
  3. Definitely give the fans the influence. As in governance and decisions.
  4. Find it bizarre that any ICT fan is considering going to this game irrespective of what end they go in. If you've got the cash burning in your pocket get along to the Partick game on the Friday or buy an ICT strip or just do something to support the club. They need the cash and far better you put it directly into the club itself some other way than going to a game that has nothing to do with ICT even if it is being held at our ground.
  5. Let's be clear here. I do not grudge Charles Bannerman two glasses of diet coke. The problem lies in the fact that a club with our financial problems are NOT in a position to give FREE anything. Sorry if this upsets anyone but that's the way I see it. Maybe the directors should pay for any hospitality they provide in the boardroom (for all I know maybe they do).
  6. AS, I take my hat off to you for your change of position. I'd offer you LairdMattie's hat but he'll be half way through scoffing it the now after back to back victories...
  7. Thank you. I would certainly be interested in hearing more.
  8. Question? Have you had any thoughts whether this would give fans influence the same as the Foundation of Hearts? Or would it purely be a donation?
  9. A spy camera mounted on a craft in the under-pitch aquifer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periscope_(app) https://www.periscope.tv/
  10. I agree with this. We just need to hope we dont run out of steam. Tremarcco said yesterday players determined to get back to Hampden.
  11. Watching the game yesterday White would be mint in a 2 up top he actually held the ball up well yesterday and created a couple of chances he's improved for sure from a traffic cone to a grafter dunno if our midfield would get overrun with 2 up top but we'd defo score goals
  12. 3 points are 3 points and after all the draws I for one am delighted. Onwards and upwards boys. Well done.
  13. https://www.foundationofhearts.org/ I d like to run this idea past you all and gather thoughts. Back in June 2013 another one of the Scottish stalwart clubs went into administration. Hearts went over the edge and were only saved by Ann Budge and brought back to life . After that the Foundation of Hearts was founded and since then it has grown and provided their club with a steady substantial income derived from their fans. This looks like sustaining Hearts for the future, as long as the governance remains as it is at present. My question is what is the reaction to a similar Foundation being set up ICT and being funded in a similar manner. eg by fans on a regular monthly basis. Any cursory glance at out accounts would confirm that to remain in the way we are, and have been, we have lost money over the majority of years we have been in existence, and what we require is a way to have financial security in a similar way to what Hearts have now, but have it in place before the brown stuff hits the fan . unlike Hearts did. Rather than re invent the wheel , take the basis of what Hearts have done and copy their best bits. This is a business that at present does not attract enough dosh and cannot continue for ever to incur losses, so we either find a wandering Abramovich with an open cheque book or prepare for the future with a sustainable model, in a similar manner to our Edinburgh cousins. Thoughts ?
  14. Ridgers Rooney McKay McCart McHattie McKay Trafford Chalmers McCauley White Austin Robbo chucked the Dunfermline game in order to seize the opportunity the cup offered to change the negative atmosphere around the club. It was a masterstroke. One more push and we're in the semi, everyone's excited, and we cruise into the play-offs on that high. Tuesday needs to be a day of rest.
  15. The point of this is Ann Budge invested to get them.out of admin and moving again. They d gone bust. We haven't got an Ann Budge but on the bright side haven't gone bust. We have got their amount if fans. From recollection they have 8000 members contributing , but that shouldn't put us off.
  16. Oh i think the idea is fine. My only doubt is how popular it would be. Maybe I'm wrong but we would need a very sizeable investment from "Mrs Budge". Maybe the Supporters Trust could be the catalyst where members pay monthly and the trust buys shares monthly. We need clever folk to set this thing up and unfortunately I'm not one.
  17. Suggested something like this a few years back but there didn't seem to be much interest. The basis being that some people can't always get to the home games but perhaps would like to contribute to the club's funds anyway, and if there was a facility to allow this I think there could be a reasonable number of takers. I'd be up for it anyway!
  18. Mr Bannerman unfortunately spoke a lot of sense in a rather direct manner.
  19. Two small glasses of Diet Coke cost the club money.
  20. If you got a reply saying you are booked then you are good to go.
  21. Given the number of points we've thrown away from decent positions this season, I'm pretty okay with boring 1-0 wins like that one. I didn't think we were particularly special but after we took the lead we were the only team that looked like scoring. Morton set out to suffocate us in midfield and stuck to it until about an hour in. Once they went two up top we had to sit a little deeper but we saw it out very comfortably. Our back four (plus McCart until he got injured) were all outstanding. I feel like I should single out Brad McKay for particular praise given his patchy form this season - aside from missing that chance in the first half he was flawless. In an attacking sense you can see that we miss Walsh because his pace allows him to get up to support White. I did think that McDonald looked very classy and it was a shame he got injured. I imagine Robbo would have liked to get Austin on but for having to use up 2 subs for injuries. As an aside, some folk may have noticed that the club were running live audio commentary on the game (with yours truly behind the mic) using Periscope. It was kind of a test run so we didn't make much of a deal of it beforehand but I'd be grateful for any feedback from people who did listen in. It's something we're hoping to do at 3pm Saturday games in the future, so all being well we'll try to do it again for the Falkirk game on 30 March.
  22. What the feck are you playing at Stan - opening a football related thread three feckin days before the game. Have you not got anything more interesting such as parking, toilets, food or sprinklers to moan about ?
  23. Things definitely looking up. Time for the moaners to get behind the team and for the absentees to return to the stadium and back the side for what could yet be a successful conclusion to the season.
  24. It'll be an embarrassment for Scottish football if this trophy is not won by a Scottish team. County or not we should all hope they win and it puts an end to this farce of expensive travel to other countries to play teams where the fans care no more than ours. A foreign team winning will only validate the decision to include rather than suggest it was a failed exercise. As for obsessed ICT fans wanting to spend money to support a team against county not because they are fans but to see RC loose is like something OF fans do. As posted above if you have that free cash go support or invest in your own team.
  25. Not while we still have a chance of improving our league position and thus our prospects of promotion.
  26. I have to agree with the posts already made about it being a long 1-0. At halftime I even mentioned to the guy in the pie stand that it was a pretty boring game to watch, but the longer it went on I realised that the guys were knackered and, in at least one case (Coll) not 100% fit. The win is all that mattered today, I’m happy with that and willing to put today’s performance down to fatigue and move on. Hey, at least it wasn’t a draw!!
  27. Good win today. Fairly boring, second half particularly but a well needed 3 points at home.
  28. maybe if we cut out the boardroom free bar to freeloaders it would help reduce the losses.
  29. I thought that was no bad a game wee Mac Donald's a cracking player should have won by more goals White played ok good wee back heeled from him! The Irish winger doesn't look the fittest tho eh he's defo 1 for nxt season
  30. Could have been more comfortable today as we had decent opportunities to score again. A win again showed resilience to see it out. Lairdmattie requires to get a hat to roast now to eat if he is a man of his words...
  31. After the exertion and emotion of the County game this is the feckin bottom line. Look at the other results - look at the table. Alloa at home in hand and a BIG game next weekend. Scottish Cup Quarter Final - Would you have feckin expected that. BRING IT FECKIN ON.
  32. Aye, pretty poor fare today but pts will suffice.
  33. Today was all about the result not the performance What a week it’s been , mammoth effort from all the team Well done lads ? ?
  34. To be fair I think this is the only venue decision that could guarantee a crowd. The decision to invite non Scottish clubs has not been universally successful
  35. 1 point
Why should some people change their ways on this forum. Lets cheese off anybody who tries to bring about positives.
  36. OK, I will ask the obvious question. What do you think they should do? I am sure that they will welcome constructive suggestions.
  37. The quarter of a million pound 'hole' in terms annual finances pertains when we are in the top tier with a number of games with two or three thousand away fans, a bigger home support, higher ticket prices, greater commercial income and much larger TV revenue. The inbuilt deficit for a mediocre season in the Championship is more like a million pounds. In my view the current board are doing a reasonable job in very challenging circumstances. In my opinion the use of professional consultants rather than enthusiastic amateurs in certain areas is a step in the right direction and will pay dividends in years to come.
  38. Was the European injection of over 400.000 pounds used to pay off the then current debt? If so, how deep is the boat still sunk into the financial mud? If the underlying assets of the club cannot be used or converted into money how would a future bank loan be paid off? And, more to the point , why should the Bank continue to generously support the club? If there is no good security either by way of Shareholder personal Guarantees or some form of specifically firm collateral security-. eg. stocks and shares or buildings or other tangible security? Would the wealthy supporters that we already have heavily invested in the future of ICT continue to provide cash into a continuously -struggling and even dying business? I think not! I pity John Robertson and we should go easy on the gent since his heart and mind are definitely well invested in this club and that's a price that you cannot assess but it may just be too much for him to continue to support emotionally. So the fans must give John the benefit of the doubt and support him to the hilt if this club wants to stay in business.
  39. ICT shareholders will never get a direct return on investment from owning them. Its not really the point for most of us. If you are lucky, a £1 share is perhaps worth about 10p or 20p. or whatever someone will pay for it. They are not traded on the open market so its all pretty subjective.
  40. A bit prickly there, not likely anyone gave two hoots about what he was drinking, where & how much it didn't cost. Just the fact his name was mentioned was enough to tempt him to remember his login for the first time in 9 months...I take it he's due now then??
  41. Going back to the initial suggestion, wouldn't it be fun to show a spot of Highland hospitality (the Highlands are ours after all) and fill the Connah's Quay end at this match. We could help to provide them with a record breaking crowd for their game and prevent County fans from taking over at our gaff. We could wear their colours and enjoy the carnival atmosphere of cup final day without any of the stress. Andy Morrison speaks fondly of Inverness on the Nomad's website, but is also disappointed that the game is so far from home for his team's fans. Let's make him proud to come from here by supporting his team when they visit us.
  42. County were tired as well...they scored 4. I guess we are guilty as Gardyne said.
  43. Mackay....small "k"
  44. Hopefully the county fans won’t be allowed to park their agricultural vehicles within the vicinity of the ground and there is a complete ban on entering the stadium with their whippets. Regardless there will be some stench down the dump that afternoon. Dougal
