  1. Job done next please.
  2. I didn't get the Impression that anyone was 'in holiday mode' but a few not unexpectedly, looked tired and jaded and were, sensibly in my view, not expending energy unnecessarily. The only important thing today was to get the job done and progress to the next stage which we did reasonably comfortably in the end.
  3. OK - Is there anybody else who EVER expected us to get this far ? And from here on it is Cup football and it really is ANYBODYS on the day.
  4. We did what was needed to progress and that's all that's necessary at this stage of what's been a long and tiring season. The big disappontement today was the size of the crowd. I appreciate that season tickets weren't valid but what a poor turnout for such a vitally important match. The team may well deserve promotion, our loyal band of fans certainly do but I am not convinced that the city of Inverness deserves Premiership football. Anyway, grump over, four more huge efforts and we might just do this.
  5. Job done - this far anyway. Would folk seriously have rather us play well and lost? Oh and to the bloke behind me no we were never losing as its the agregate score that counted ffs. Players look tired and 4 games in 11 days is a toughie. However we march on and what will be will be...
  6. I think there was more anxiety in the crowd than on the pitch at 0-1 down. Certainly there wasn't much in the way of panic, though we didn't play all that well. Ayr weren't all that adventurous and couldn't believe their luck when they picked us off on the counterattack. It's hard to think of another clearcut opening for them though. I thought our forward line didn't really click today, and we didn't get enough in an attacking sense from our full-backs until Rooney came on. Ayr clearly identified McHattie as the weak link and McDaid gave him a hard time. I would feel happier if Tremarco were fit on Tuesday. It's going to be hard to get past Dundee United - let alone a Premiership team after that - but I still feel we have a chance if we can keep our best players fit and get some momentum up.
  7. Thanks for all the kind words, folks. Having listened back I got a bit excited when Donaldson scored and I hope I didn't damage anyone's eardrums! It'll be back to BBC and BTSport coverage on Tuesday night - not much point in us doing it as well, and the professionals will be using all the tech for their transmissions anyway! Hopefully there'll be more of this next season though, fingers crossed.
  8. Who is progressing to the next round?
  9. Sensible post unlike some others who just criticise for the sake of it. We finished third in league reached a Scottish cup semi final and have now reached semi final of play offs The critics really need to have a word with themselves.
  10. Really looked like we were playing within ourselves today, likely with Tuesday in mind? Maybe that was the tactics or are the players just exhausted? Was an anxious spectacle for us fans and might have been very worrying had Ayr got a second goal before we got ours! Still we're through and that's what counts. Impressed by MacDonald when he came on. Would be great to get him back in on loan again next season.

Then let's confine this thread to those who do wish to commit to the cause for next season and beyond. Excellent news about Sean Welsh. He will contribute whichever do division we find ourselves in.
  12. We did not create enough today and we won't get by on Tuesday without creating more. Crawford had a great chance to make it two nil Ayr but opted to blast it wide. If we were in game management mode we were cutting it a bit fine. MacDonald made a difference when he came on and should start Tuesday given Walsh hamstring issue. Mcmullan getting sent off on Tuesday would do for starters ? pressure is surely on Utd so hopefully the boys will get in about them.
  13. Cue Charlie B again SP - But the 1994 had a "forever" effect on Inverness based football. Many refuseniks went to their favoured SPL teams, Many went over the bridge as the hatred was always directed at Hellgin NOT County, Clachers felt deserted and went against ICT too. That "rift" has NEVER been resolved - in fact it was deepened by the success of ICT. Inverness is more of a divided city now as it ever has been. Our success has kept us afloat
  14. We were obvously saving a wee bit in the tank for the the next game We will be fine Job done at Ayr it was always about game management today
  15. Winning and drawing ?
  16. You could tell from some of the moves Ayr made, to get the ball quickly up the park - they have practised these in training, the way everyone involved knows what is coming and where to run. Seldom do you see the same coherent plays from us - what do we work on in training??
  17. A strange game, we didn't know whether to stick or twist. Not a great performance, we were making Ayr look good, but we did enough to get through. I hope Walsh hasn't damaged his hamstring too much, but young McDonald looked lively when he came on, and Rooney gave us some much needed width later on. We just need to recover as quickly as possible, and give it a good go on Tuesday. Hurdle number one cleared.
  18. Thought we managed the game well and Robbo had his tactics spot on. Worried for Tom Walsh as he appeared to have hurt his hamstring.
  19. Well done to all and Iam glad we we're away for for the second leg next week, suits us just fine
  20. Thank you from Brisbane! Well done! You and the team ?
  21. I'll take that. Well done to all concerned. Hope we didn't pick up any injuries. Same again next week will do nicely. Onwards and upwards.
  22. Excellent commentary. Has been rock solid since you published the second link about 12 minutes into the game. Very pleasant voice to listen to, and a great commentary on the game without the hysterics that the professionals use. Though I want to hear you celebrate an ICT goal or six
  23. you can access twitter without having an account, just search up ictfc twitter on google and you should be able to find it, hopecully you can access it this way and get the commentary
  24. I have been a Jaggie since late 60's. Over the years, I have kept some personal records, especially the title wins In the early 70's and every stat from 89 till 94. Programmes are like gold dust, and trying to get any INfo, especially from ICT Is Impossible.
  25. I hope these stats help with your project. If you need anymore Info, team lines, just let me know. All the best

Appears to be the worst kept secret in some time, apparently chalmers has signed a 2 year deal with County.
  27. I’m not sure if it is possible, but joining the Highland League for our up and coming youngsters would be great.

Yes but Charlie has stepped up to the mark big time
  29. simple. clach need players, have a ground etc etc. it's about time the inverness football community got together and build from the foundations up.
  30. I understand he has property and his family own several other successful businesses in the Aberdeen area. Remember this is a guy who left Aberdeen as a teenager to go down to Wigan on very good money for several years so is pretty much set for life if he invests wisely ?
  31. I actually thought we were gonna win the league and keep a hold of the challenge cup poor season by my standards!
  32. Yep. But it only needed 1 goal from Ayr to cause a panic in our team. Think Robbo got tactics wrong! We should have pushed from the start. Ayr did not look jaded, quite the opposite in fact, they looked more up for it tan us and only poor finishing prevented extra time / pens We surely need to up our game for next week.
  33. What !! Ffs we were Shyte. Looked second best to Ayr all afternoon. Attitude was lazy and so many of our players looked like they were on holiday mode, That was eye torture and the goal must have been our only attempt on goal in the second half. If we have any aspirations to progress in this play off the players and management need to have a big long look at themselves.
