  1. I'm fully behind the board on this. They dared to speak out against the cabal of self serving clubs and the papers and of course we are now being hounded as the latest statement says. Any club being relegated (Falkirk Partick etc) is being hounded in the same way when they release statements about their enforced demotion. Seemingly the only acceptable statement people would like would go along the lines of "we have full confidence in Doncaster. We dont want any reconstruction and everybody should stay quiet now for the good of the game. (The game being the premiership without regard to the other leagues) Also in regards to the Null and void nonsense. For teams like ourselves in playoff spots. The season is effectively Null and Void for us. No play off money or associated TV money from that. I wish the 6 self serving clubs in the Premiership would have at least got the same amount of vitriol that ourselves and other afflicted clubs are getting.
  2. Why would any other club trust us in any negotiation from this point? Transfers or further league meetings or anything else? This is going to cost us in the long run and a few crowd-pleasing, poorly written, seething statements won't mean anything in a few weeks, let alone in the long term., I'm stunned so many fans seem to be lapping this up.
  3. Not unexpected but still very disappointing. The Stenhousemuir Chairman's statement explained very well why having an inquiry was so important. If the various allegations are founded in fact then it is clearly important they are brought out into the open and dealt with. If an independent inquiry found that the allegations were largely baseless then those making the allegations would need to start toeing the line. Either way, the outcome clears the air and allows the organisation to move on. So surely an inquiry should have been welcomed both by those who think the SPFL are doing a good job and those who do not. It seems those who have supported an inquiry are largely clubs who have been publicly critical of the SPFL. These are the clubs who are willing to put their side of things to an independent arbiter. Those who have been supportive of the SPFL position seem unwilling to have the allegations put to independent scrutiny. There really is only one conclusion that you can draw from that! It is all very well saying that we now need to draw a line under this and work together, but the best opportunity for that was for all to accept the conclusions of an independent inquiry. Working together in an organisation where the leadership clearly adopts a bullying culture of divide and rule and where nobody can trust anybody else will not be easy. Directors and staff from other clubs will have moaned about the SPFL in private and will have pledged their support, but then been too gutless to act. How on earth are you supposed to work constructively in that kind of environment? No doubt the club will put out another statement, but it does now need to accept the decision of the majority of member clubs and focus on the season ahead.
  4. Well today confirms that the majority of the SPFL members particularly the Premier league members are nothing but a bunch of spineless self serving yes men who are happy with the status quo as long as they receive their old firm gate money.
  5. quality hosting in Germany chosen by the previous CEO to thank for that one 😉 Sorry, couldn't resist it.
  6. Still with the club on this one .... the statements issued up to yesterday were clear and well worded in my opinion. The record was the one who already printed the smear piece on the CEO around the time of the first vote and here again they print another alleging we had a plan that would cost us £175,000. I find that really hard to believe when for the last six months both Gardiner and Morrison have been scouring the country and beyond to try and raise £500,000. I would believe our chairman's comment this morning a lot more easily than the red top rag. (any red top rag).
  7. Away man, that’s the sort of paranoia that Bannerman used to spout. At least when Fergie did it there was a point to it. If you read Pie & Bovril it’s the away trip of the season, even for Morton and Queens who regularly get thumped. It’s no fun for midweek replays In winter and the like, I’ll grant you that, but to say “most” never liked ICT is absolute nonsense.
  8. We issued a long and detailed statement which clearly set out our views and position which I believe was the right thing to do. I am less convinced that we should now be indulging in exchanging 'tit for tat' retaliatory statements that will almost inevitably result in a juvenile descent into farce which will do no good to anyone in the long run when cooperation rather than division will be increasingly important.
  9. So it gets worse. Surely Scot Gardner has to be suspended right away and investigated by the club in house?
  10. Quite happy for them to hate the journeys up here and hate the return journeys even more. Do we hate traveling down to play them, of course we don't. That's all that matters.
  11. Morton are old foes from last season when half a dozen of there fans terrified the main stand imagine the carnage they'll bring nxt season now they've an axe to grind thank fcuk I sit in the north stands all I'm saying!
  12. Not only are our club rightly incensed by the Record article, I imagine that McArthur is non too pleased either. The Record states "But McArthur hit back when he released a statement of his own on Dunfermline’s official website, rejecting Gardiner’s claims and giving details of a counter proposal to null and void the league." and "Details of Gardiner’s plan only emerged as a group of Championship clubs threw their weight behind a statement from Dunfermline chairman Ross McArthur - in which he mentions for the first time a proposal to have the Scottish season wiped from the record books." At no point in his statement did McArthur claim that ICTFC had any such plan! The point McArthur was making was that if the clubs rejected the SPFL motion and then the alternative one proposed by Rangers, Hearts and ICT, then we could be left in the null and void scenario. It was not an inevitability though. It would only have happened if the SPFL failed to get agreement on alternatives. My understanding is that the null and void scenario was one our club was keen to avoid and, far from us proposing it, it was the SPFL which was using it to threaten clubs to vote for their motion!
  13. To be honest I wouldn't give much scope to the Keith Jackson article. He is just stirring up the Celtic fans to follow the narrative that Gardiner (ex rangers) wanted null and void to stop Celtic 9 in a row etc etc. Classic redtop 'an unnamed source' article. He already said he wanted champions to be declared, but felt unfair to relegate teams. Obviously hinting towards reconstruction which would massively favour us. He wanted a resolution to pay out the money but not rush into fixed decisions on the league which is ultimately legitimate unless you fall for the spfl spin of their was no way possible to change the rules of a members organisation during a vote, that changed the rules. His statement on Sunday I think was a reaction to Doncaster on Sunday sportsound. It was a rant yes, didn't read too well but he got his point across fine. He contradicts what Doncaster was stating as fact on the radio. Only these guys involved know how it played out. There has been lots of he said, she said nonsense and pick and mix statements. The whole thing stinks of certain board members protecting their own clubs (namely Brechin, alloa and motherwell) whilst throwing others under the bus. This completely goes against what they are appointed to do. The set up is a mess and I hope it all falls apart, as it does little for the future of Scottish football.
  14. What concerns me is that the club have allowed and trusted this guy to represent us knowing his background and huge failings at other clubs. I'd imagine every club bar Rangers have lost what little respect they had for us after leaking confidentiality over discussions on WhatsApp, bullying claims now this. And teams want the SFA investigated. An even more worrying thought is that the powers that be at the club all sanctioned our actions and SG wasn't acting alone?
  15. There certainly appears to be a "puppet on a string" feel to all of this. Hopefully we will not become the fall guys in all of this.
  16. I read that statement differently, especially when he blows smoke up everyone's arse about the reputation of DAFC .... no-one has said anything about DAFC, or questioned their integrity ads a club, it was about an individual and he seems to be hiding behind his club rather than defending his personal reputation or denying what was said. In fact, he admits to making comments on the date specified, but like all bullies minimises it or attempts to blame the victim(s). I personally have no faith in ANYONE on the SPFL board to conduct business in a fair and impartial manner. They are rotten to the core. The only problem is that whoever replaced them if they did the decent thing would likely be just as bad ! Take personalities and pissing contests out of this for a second ... there are way too many discussion points not centered around this bullying that also bear talking about. Like the 'threat' that voting no would delay payments when it has already been established that interim payments could be made with or without a vote, or the circumstances surrounding the manner in which a valid no vote was lost then changed to yes (the digital forensics on this would be fascinating I am sure), or the manner in which teams are being relegated when it was not cut and dried they would finish bottom (no real issue with crowning champions as the margins there were a lot wider and the implications less far reaching).
  17. On a side note. I was watching an interview with the Partick CEO today and he mentioned having to potentially go part time due to being in league one. It must be infuriating to read at the same time so many patronising statements from other clubs talking about "moving on for the good of the clubs and scottish football" while trampling over the likes of Partick and Stranraer to get there. All because they are too chicken to reconstruct the league. Still. Im sure all the sympathy that they all seem to have for them will go a long way...
  18. Something doesn't add up with the Championship vote! 1 vote was cast. Dundee Utd voted as a Premier League team, Hearts as a Championship and PT as League 1 and so on. So how was only 1 vote cast in the Championship. Surely Hearts voted yes. Does that mean we voted no??
  19. Every single Championshp club other than us voted against an inquiry. I've got to be honest, I think this whole thing has been really poorly handled by our board. They are completely out of their depth but there's no-one who is going to step in and take over so we are stuck with them. Releasing embarrassing statements and publicising private conversations with other chairman isn't the way to enhance your clubs reputation. When it comes down to it, what has the point of all this been? Why have we pushed so hard on this, when it was obvious early in the whole process that we were very unlikely to come out of this with what we wanted, which was either a season completion or an expanded league? You have to pick your battles in life and we have picked the wrong battle. Who knows what impact this will have on us next season, it's certainly not made our club a more attractive location for other players or managers, which we might need to think about if Robbo is given an opporutnity at a higher level.
  20. No surprise. Some may be disappointed, some may even be horrified or at least purport to be. However, we need to draw a line under this NOW and work together as best we can to save our sport.
  21. So just under 70% of clubs have confidence in the SPFL after this utter sham of a process. And they don't even want to find out the facts.
  22. Nice to see some new posters on the forum. Welcome and Flock off from me.
  23. Only ones making contradictory statements are the morons in the media, pulling information out their anus to make a few clicks on their website. Ours, and many others, Stenny for example (https://www.stenhousemuirfc.com/2020/05/12/statement-on-the-spfl-egm/), have been sheer brilliant in calling out the SPFL on their rubbish...
  24. A short, terse rebuttal of the comments in the Record piece would have sufficed instead of what amounts to a multi paragraph rant.
  25. The club is being used as a vehicle to further the agenda of another club. The fans are being taken for nice-but-glaikit teuchters, and tbf, he may have a point with that. The damage already done to the club's reputation is considerable, and if this is not addressed quickly it could be irreparable.
  26. There's some parts of our statement I agree with such as the short notice to consider such an important decision, awarding titles to sides in first place in their respective divisions as well as not relegating sides based on an incomplete season however some other points in the statement and our alleged counter proposal are compatible with one another. Seeking prize money for finishing 2nd but also null and voiding the season wasn't likely to go down well with other sides. Null and voiding the season would only mean that monies are split equally ten ways. The only thing that comes to mind is that we were somehow banking on reconstruction taking place and somehow getting promoted to the Premiership where we would offset this £175,000 loss but you can't really promote us whilst also null and voiding the season. It seems our position is all over the place and highly contradictory with what is actually feasible.
  27. Nobody is coming out of this looking good.
  28. It’s actually starting to make us look embarrassing.
  29. What a sad indictment of all that is wrong with Scottish football that, even in this time of unprecedented danger and crisis, that our clubs are so divided, divisive, paranoid and self interested and our game so negligently administered that we can't, just this once, act and pull together for the common good.
  30. I thought our statement was a bit of an embarrassment to be honest, poorly written and just a rant.
  31. Who do you think you are?. Everyone is entitled to their views and must be able to express them.
  32. I thought the person they were referring to was John Nelms at Dundee. Didn't even know the name of the Dunfermline Chairman before today.
  33. It is remarkable how little is actually said in McArthur's statement beyond a bit of self-indulgent, indignant bluster. He limits himself to the allegation of threats and says that all he was doing was pointing out that if the SPFL failed and the Rangers' motion was subsequently put and failed, that distribution of Championship prize money might be dived into 10 equal portions. He ignores the fact that Inverness would be the 2nd biggest loser in that scenario and therefore stood to benefit more than most from supporting the SPFL motion. He ignores the fact that the "consequences" he mentions would only become reality if the SPFL chose to make them so, and therefore fails to understated why this was rightly seen as a "threat" rather than merely unavoidable "consequences". McArthur concludes " There are many more things I would like to say, but I will retain my dignity and continue to be more concerned about the long term future of Scottish football at this time. The endless point scoring is becoming tiresome, and I would have preferred to rise above it, but I have a duty to protect the reputation of Dunfermline Athletic FC." What gutless, pompous cr*p! Hiding behind his role as Pars Chairman allows him to squirm out of answering a range of valid concerns raised in the ICT statement. As a member of the SPFL Board he also has a duty to the the other 41 member clubs and to the wider reputation of Scottish football. That is a duty he is abjectly failing in.
  34. Hi there guys , although I'm a hearts fan I'm not in here to to talk about my own club or troll this forum. I'm only here to congratulate your club on there resent statement, it was not only well worded but it said everything about the dishonestly of the SPFL. Your club has proper morals, dignity and sporting integrity, this is what the majority of our 42 clubs don't have. You are a very proud club and looks to me like very proud supporters reading this thread and rightly so. Although we will be competing in the same league next season (if any) if hearts don't win it I very much hope ICT do and hope we both are promoted. I will be up for the away game against you gays as this will be my only away game as I would not give any of my hard earned cash to any of the gutless clubs. Stay safe and all the best for the future.

Who the hell do you think you are . You come onto this forum as a new member and do nothing but criticise what has widely been applauded as an excellent detailed statement from our club . We have acted with dignity from the start and both our chairman and ceo should be applauded for their courage and honesty . Anyone would think you have joined this forum for only one reason !!!

Just read the daily ranger report wow if that's true what a clown Coop the dugs owners made of himself but as I did say at an earlier date when all the happy clappers on here the usual suspects were bigging him up as some kinda ghandi / Fergie figure he was most likely a wrong un

This is a PR nightmare and embarrassment for our club and everyone associated with it. All these contradictory statements being released are only damaging the club and its future. Someone please go and cut our phone lines.
