  1. We have to take the game to St Johnstone, we were far too passive on Friday night, which lead to Rooney having the whole right wing to himself. We need to make him think about defending first and foremost, and that means having Chalmers and his pace occupying his time. Samuels on the other wing caused all sorts of problem for them and made them play far nearer their goal than they would have liked. If we can cut out the long aimless punts up the park, and keep the ball on the deck with short quick passes, we have a chance. As it's been said, Robbie Deas likes to get at least one goal a season, and he hasn't scored yet, so this would be the ideal time to open his account. And, of course we have the Reece factor, they won't want to give away free kicks in shooting range. I do believe that all the pressure is on St Johnstone, as no one believes that a third placed team can go up.

  3. Sadly I can't be there tonight, but it is just fantastic to see such a large number heading down the road. Hopefully folk will be heading back in jubilant mood. If we should lose, it certainly won't be due to a lack of effort from the lads on the park or a lack of support. Win or lose, let's hope the enthusiasm for supporting the team will be carried over into next season.

  4. I would also like us to take the game to St Johnstone from the first whistle. I just fear that we might take the mentality to sit back and try to get them to half time 0-0 before mounting any sort of offense which could be disastrous considering how dangerous St Johnstone were in the 1st half. Hopefully look to counter more with Samuel's and Chalmers more than capable of inflicting damage to them and with Devine back hopefully be more comfortable at the back. Although I sound negative in this post I believe we have enough to get the job done. I'm super excited and can't wait to travel down this afternoon.

  5. I thought Samuels put in a great shift by the way, he was a real handful. Carson and McAlear did a great job in midfield too.

  6. See yous all in the Championship next season. The team did us proud and nobody can question their effort and determination. I doubt if any of us would have thought that we would be watching ICT on Sky in the Premiership Play Off Finals. And to be irritating and honest Shaun Rooney is some player.

  11. We can be really proud of the team. For a club with our budget to get so close to promotion is a fantastic achievement. At one point in the season it looked as though we might even slip into the play-offs at the wrong end of the table, so the turnaround must give us hope for next season. The turnaround has also brought in new supporters and hopefully the excitement of the latter part of the season will persuade them to attend regularly next year or become season ticket holders. We will be saying goodbye to several of the squad, but one thing this season has demonstrated yet again, is how good the club is in finding new players down on their luck who come up here and do really well. I have every confidence that next season will see some new faces who will become key players in the push for promotion. Obviously there will be a feeling of great disappointment tonight, but as i say, we can be really proud of the team and can look forward to next season with optimism.

  12. I've never understood this way of thinking. It's surely more disrespectful not celebrating for the club that you play for and pays your wages.

  15. A breif tribute to Richard Gordon who retires today from his role as presenter of Saturday Sportsound. Despite never having played the game at any professional level, he is one of the most knowledgeable and least biased sports journalists in the country despite, unlike many of his Central Belt colleagues, is quite happy to be entirely open about which team he supports and with a passion. He was also quick to give us praise and credit whenever we merited it and, again unlike many of his colleagues, Jim Traynor in particular comes to mind, he was never condescending or patronising towards us. I hope that he enjoys a long and happy retirement.

  16. Let us hope that lady luck is shining over ICTFC tonight. Tonight isnt the night to try and pla silky football. Im thinking it will be a case of grinding out the required result. St Johnstone dont score many goals, so a tight defence tonight, will be crucial.

  18. If anyone is travelling down today. I would watch your time I was travelling back from Glasgow yesterday and was stuck in roadwork traffic. (They were cutting down trees) google said it was an 8 minute delay both ways but was more like 25 -30 mins. Hopefully they have cleared it today but just a heads up for people looking to leave for Perth sharp. It was about 15 miles outside of Inverness

  20. We all like to see flowing, skillful and entertaining football but tonight a scrappy backs to the wall single goal win by whatever means will do perfectly well.

  21. Taking into account increased prize money, gate receipts and commercial income, we will be well over a million pounds better off than in the Championship although obviously our outgoings, particularly wages, would also be greater and, even if we were immediately relegated we would have the benefit of the parachute payment.

  28. Depending on your pre match plans (i.e. if you have none) you could park at The Glover Arms which is about a 15 minute walk from the ground and this will allow you a quick exit back onto the A9 after the game. You would need to come off at the new junction, go around the back of the ground and crematorium and then head out on the Crieff Road for a little bit.

  29. Still grinning inanely today! Half time I really thought we’d blown it. We looked smaller, slower and devoid of any idea of what to do. Welsh at centre half was used at beginning of season and there is some sense in having there for his range of passing….but not last night. He looked so much more effective in midfield. The big change came with getting the width to the team and putting StJ on the back foot. Allardice made a huge difference as did Chalmers and Samuels looked electric. there’s no way we’ll play that badly again and with devine back we will have our usual shape back. There must be some real belief in that squad that they can do this now. off to watch the highlights….again! can you imagine a midfield with MCAleer, Allardice and MacGregor next season!

  30. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but our first goal should not have stood. Played should’ve stopped for a head knock and also Samuels was offside (not 2 yards offside like Callum Davidson says, but a wee bit offside). About time we got a wee bit of good fortune from the match officials.
