We lost our best defender and didn’t replace him. It’s inevitable that the defence is weaker than it was last season. And a year before that, we lost Broadfoot and replaced with relative inexperience. Oh to have a commanding central defender and leader on the pitch, in the vein of Mann or Dods.4 points

It would appear that we have young, promising players who are lacking in leadership on and off the park. Welsh is going to play in spells so we needed to sign an old head but that type of personality would not fit in with our higher echelons. I am absolutely fuming at Robertson being AWOL again - at a time of crisis - and Dodds losing his own plot and an undoubted upcoming statement about his frustration over the players. And wait for the Alamo cry for the Diamonds. Will he be lucky again and a close win give him more breathing space. I gave him support last season but I hope that our season stays as it is as it will be the only way to get rid of this blight. And I wish that somebody would pose a press question as to why Robbo is allowed to be a part time tink and probably knows more about their system than ours.4 points

The really depressing thing is, you really don't have to be very good nowadays to have a better than even chance of beating ICT. The fantastic work and even better achievements of the first 22 years of our history has been completely undone by what has happened in the last 7.4 points

Even by CTO standards, this is a bizarre thread For the avoidance of all doubt, I support the removal of the club CEO known as Scot Gardiner, Scot, Gardiner, and a few other choice words, but never, until now, referred to as Scotty3 points

Better just to stop digging when you’re in a hole instead of chucking red dots around at people giving their honest opinion. Fwiw I agree with the sentiments but when you sober up tomorrow you’ll realise you made a Roger Hunt of yourself if you think anybody moderating this site is in the pockets of the directors.3 points

Looking gloomy for this season Gringers when you can’t even get it wrong right!2 points

Notwithstanding our concerns with the CEO, Sporting Director, Manager and coaches, I’ve been considering how we could turn things round on the park if there was the appetite to change our approach. We have some decent players at Championship level but are not getting the best out of them. Despite our defensive frailties which have cost us in several games already, we’ve stuck with four at the back despite wanting our full backs to get forward. That’s leaving us short of numbers at the back whenever we (frequently) lose possession. Davidson and Harper are both capable going forward, so to tighten things up I suggest we go 3 5 2 with two wing backs in the 5. We’d need Duffy or Ram back to be able to do it, and it also gives us the added benefit of 3 in central midfield where we have been getting outnumbered. The only downside I can see is how we fit Shaw in, given he’s been our best performer in several of the games but his pace with Mckay in the front 2 could work well. Looking at the line ups in today’s top flight matches, 5 teams have gone with 3 at the back, with only Celtic starting with 4. Any other thoughts?2 points

Yep, Unless a hellofalot of fans partake it looks pathetic. Better to get as many fans outside the front of the main stand at the end of the game ( right in front of directors suite window) Last time there was a visible protest was during the demise of Brewster when some fans made up a 25 ft long banner saying 'Brewster out! ' and stood up at the A9, got lots of TV coverage. And Brewster didn't last long afterwards!2 points

Scott Gardiner old quote from P&J In the short term, I want to make Inverness Caley Thistle FC financially sound and a pillar of Inverness and the surrounding area – and to get the team back into the Scottish Premiership for good Looks like ones failing HIS quote big time .2 points

Make sure you check with the club as to what the minimum number to take part that's required for it to be satisfactorily 'representative' first though.2 points

If he had his dream job as Sporting Director of Hearts, do you think their fans would acquiesce to his continued employment by the club if he was commentating on Hibs games every time Hearts were playing away? Enough is enough. Time for the broom of change to sweep through the club.1 point

He certainly looked unimpressed with whatever Dodds said to him. If it was a verbal kicking, that should be saved for the dressing room. Not in full view of the supporters.1 point

I’m not a mod, The CEO is fair game for criticism. Ultimately the buck stops with the Board and him. I’ve never seen or heard him referred to as Scotty.1 point

We’re never going to win many games with Sean Welsh missing. We’ve got loads of players who can play CM but that’s quantity not quality. If Sean wasn’t forever carrying knocks he wouldn’t be with us.1 point

Just listened to Barry's post match interview on YouTube, same Shyte as last week I'm afraid, Usual fare, slow to start, low energy, missed half chances, conceded a goal which was coming. To me it looks like Brewsters team on his second term as manager, going though the motions with a lack of confidence. I wish I could ask some questions.1 point

Time to post this thread again Embarrassment of a coach .How long do we have to put up with this crap week in week out . Any other club would not put up with this any longer. Yeah some will say we are stuck with him for 2 years as club have no money . Why the hell did we give him an extension to his contract let alone a 2 year one?? It’s an Embarrassment whoever agreed to the 2 year extension when clearly the previous 2 years were shambolic enough.1 point

I was at the match today, very disappointing. Lacking quality and composure in a variety of positions and rarely look a threat going forward. Ayr weren't great either but once again played with more urgency and determination. Some may blame the referee but he was not the reason we lost. Got back in the car and heard John Robertson on Radio Scotland talking about the County game.... Said to myself surely it's not ICT Sporting Director John Robertson..... Others on this forum have highlighted it was..... Early signs are this could be a long hard season to endure....1 point

Pity most of recent comments are on Robbo (me included ) and not on todays game. I wasn’t at the match and would like to hear from those that were. BBC reports that we came close on more than 3 good chances but failed to get the equaliser. Doesn’t sound as though we were too far away from getting something from the game? Just wish we could get through a game without loosing a goal. Not meaning to discard any attacking play, just right now it’s always a claw back position which piles the pressure on the team as the clock ticks down.1 point

That’s 5 defeats in a row. All by just 1 goal, but that’s not a great deal of comfort.1 point

No, it’s absolutely not the role of a scout to decide what we need. He should get told what we need and then needs to find someone to fit the bill.1 point
-
If his remit includes scouting, surely he has to see the team play to know what areas need strengthening.1 point

One of the top 3 men at the club on what will be a good wage will not be on a Mon to Friday 9-5 contract. It is absolutely reasonable to expect our 'Sporting Director' who is apparently key when it comes to scouting and signings to attend our games home and away it's not like ot will be at any cost to him. If it's not that important that he needs to bother watching 1st team games then the question has to be asked, what does he actually do?1 point
-
Scott Gardiner once explained Robbo’s role on the podcast, think it was about a year ago. The role did not involve any involvement with the squad or any matchday duties, I recall it was all about development/commercial projects and scouting. Whether the role and responsibilities are the right ones for the club is another discussion, but I’d say it was at least explained.1 point

The club has loads of employees who won’t be at our game today, only the playing, coaching and relevant support staff are required to travel. If Robbo is on a Mon-Fri 9-5 contract then I guess he can do whatever he wants on his days off, and he chooses to do a bit of media work. The optics aren’t good though and I’d rather our sporting director showed a bit more commitment to the club and travelled with them a bit more. He shouldn’t be forced to, he should want to.1 point

The club needs to clarify Robertson's role and whether he takes a salary from the club. If he does then, as Director of Fottball, he needs to be at our away games and ditch the radio duties. Even if no salary received it's tone deaf behaviour from both Robbo and the club.1 point

Ayr 1 up. Back on the squad, we could have put the three Academy graduates signed this week on the bench to give them match day experience.1 point

What is going on with all the injuries we have. Second game of the season and we are already missing 6 first team players. If they are all injured, which I'm guessing they are, we have to be looking into why. Surely its not just bad luck. Maybe we should be looking into our training regime and start asking questions of our fitness coach.1 point
-
Only on wk 2. Serious club inquiry into signing policy or training regime required if this is the case given the history of the last 2 seasons. This is unsustainable long term to keep having lengthy crock lists.1 point
-
Starting line up: Ridgers Davidson Devine Delaney Harper Carson Bray Gilmour Longstaff Mckay Shaw Subs: MacKay, Doran, Hyde, Lodovica, Brooks, Thomson No Duffy, Ram or Samuels in addition to those we knew were injured. If they are injured, that means we already have Duffy, Welsh, Samuels, MacGregor, Ram, Nicolson and Calum Mackay out injured. Given how Dodds was saying how we’d see a different Doran this season and how much fitter and faster he looked against Bonnyrigg, I’m amazed he’s not starting.1 point
