  1. You know I've come to the conclusion that the club are doing almost everything they can to increase attendances already. I've come to accept we are a young club trying to grow its support. We already have the u12 free season tickets and free schools tickets. I would like this extended to u16s but I understand that this would cost the club money and they would need to replace this money if it were to happen. It's a long term project so must be given time. This suddenly has become an issue since we've been successful. It's as if we can't find anything else to discuss as everything on the pitch is good at the moment. Personally I think our core support is about 3000 very loyal folk who seem to attend regularly. Let's embrace that and move on.

  2. 2-0...shouldve been like 9-0. We dominated and exploited an inexperienced Hearts side that was missing their only left back and their skipper and were it not for an impressive display from Jamie McDonald and a bit of help from his woodwork it could have been a lot worse. We were clinical in the first half, Billy took the chances that he got and the team kept what little threat the Jambos posed at bay, the woodwork came to our rescue as well when Jamie Walkers shot clipped the post. In the Motherwell game we posed little threat going forward in the 2nd half but in today was a different story, Hearts seemed to run out of ideas very quickly. Billy squandered his hat trick chance, failing to round McDonald and then later missed his penalty, not well taken and yet again goes to the same side. In terms of whether it was a good call id have to see it again, was at the other side of the field and seemed to catch everyone by surprise. Also worth noting Forans terrific effort from far out that took a wonderful save from McDonald to tip it away. Would have been a superb strike if it had gone in. Thought the back four were terrific yet again, stayed solid and have another clean sheet to add to the stats for the season, Deano wasnt called into action much but his handling from crosses and set pieces was decent, think the longer his performances go like this the more we should be thinking about extending his stay beyond January. The feel good factor is still vibrant at the moment, games are a pleasure to attend and there is no question that we are getting what we pay for as punters, its a scary thought to think that the longer this goes we could be in line for great things this season. I was realistic at the start of the season, wasnt looking for as good a finish, just as fun a ride, the way we have started this season has left me believing that anything is possible. I expect to get shot down to earth at any point but forgive me for being starry eyed given the way we are playing. Long may it continue...

  3. They did Scarlet, but I don't know if it's the cause for concern that a lot of people think. Maybe about 3 000 is our core crowd. If we keep that going, and increase it in "high interest" games that might be as good as we get. What matters to me is how good that 3 000 are, and today they were very good indeed.

  4. Not sure one can say Butcher has assembled a full squad. ?? He certainly has a fine first 11. Not much on the bench though, unless somebody knows different? If we ge injuries or suspensions what can we do about it. The squad seems wafer thin to me. I am told rightly or wrongly that free transfers and loan players can be signed after the deadline if the club has room on the registration forms. We really ought to be looking for back ups. This is not a troll I am genuinly concerned with the bench. You're either a troll, or extremely stupid.

  5. I don't know why the authorities have such stupid rules. The TV replays clearly showed the decision was wrong so why should Hearts even have to appeal? You can't put things to right during the game and an incorrect decision and a sending off can seriously alter the course of a game. That being the case, why punish the club even further for an "offence" that those administering the punishment know was not committed? Its a waste of people's time and money. These things happen so fast that I would be loathe to criticise the referee in this case, but when he sees the footage he will know he got it wrong. Why can't referees be asked to add statements to that effect to their report so that the decision is then rescinded and the disciplinary panel then has no "offence" to punish.

  6. Yes, but its thousands we would need to add if we were to have a fourth stand or a new location. Personally I don't like the ground or it's location but I do like the team. Spend money now on major ground changes and that would be at the expense of the team. We just need to make the best of what we've got.

  8. It would be good to see the West Terrace back in use as a Terrace. There is absolutely no safety argument against a four tier terrace that stands up to any rational scrutiny, there is no legal issue with it - just a policy issue within Scottish Football. Large ICT banners on 2 sides and advertising on one to cover the cost of getting the banners made. Mesh printed banners should deal with the wind without issues.

  9. But the traffic was already stationary. As for the driver saying he couldn't open the doors, it's just the sort of circumstances were the passengers would go ahead and open it themselves and it's not as if pedestrians aren't allowed along there and there is a pavement between the Raigmore Interchange and Longman Roundabout.

  11. It is the feckin traffic lights and the lack of traffic management which I presume costs the club spondoolachs. Can you imagine the chaos if it is the same story when Aberdire, Cellic or County visit. How are single bus drivers supposed to stop groups of fans who think that they are going to miss the kick off.

  12. How the feck are ya supposed to cycle from the feckin Innes after a few aperitifs ?!! The bottom line is that we need a smaller, more compact ground - 7000 capacity max - in a site which is more user friendly - the traffic on Saturday was absolutely ridiculous.

  14. would be wanyama i think (12.5 million), followed by fletcher(12 million). who scored 4 goals in his time with hibs against us all of them at easter road in 12 attempts and he never won at tcs in 6 attempts, and only won 3 times out of 6 at easter road. proving once again money dont beat ict. (this all according to tranfermarkt.co.uk) after those 2 there would be a few of those pocket change £9 million players like gordon, hutton, mcgeady (9.5).

  15. Chris Hogg played some pre-season games for Gateshead, but didn't get a deal in the end. Hereford gave us Ryan Esson and Marley Watkins, and also took Dan Stratford off our hands, so I know who I'd be supporting!

  17. Lowering ticket prices. I know we have the cheapest tickets in the league, but still, they're not exactly 'cheap'! £15-20 adults £10 concessions Under 12 free That is not unreasonable and would benefit everyone!

  22. I think you have to be careful when offering discounts to certain sectors to get people through the gate. You run the risk of alienating other people who already pay full price. Is there a large amount of people in the forces who's primary reason for not attending being cost? I don't know, but I'd be surprised if that was the case. I had a conversation with a pensioner fan who's adult son was annoyed that a couple of guys in their early 20s who sat next to him now got a cheaper ST due to falling into the 16-25 bracket, while (he being over 25) was still paying full price. He felt his son was quite right to be upset as those guys in their early 20s had jobs etc and should be paying full price as they could afford it. Fair enough I said but I have guys over 65 who sit near me and get a cheaper ST than I do, but they may well have much larger disposable income than I do, (paid off mortgage, kids left home etc) but it doesn't upset me. Depends on your perspective I guess, but unless you means test everyone at the ticket office it will never be a perfect system and I guess you have to play to the averages and look at the best business model. Part of going to the games is to support the club financially and I'm happy to do that but I'm fortunate (at least at the moment!) enough to be in a position to do that.

  23. I don't think that will have been a particularly weighty consideration when determining the proposal for the new stadium especially given the fact that there was a new access road and paths to the ground. Not disputing that some people won't go along by the harbour / under the bridge though and it would be nice to have some kind of underpass / subway. However, I would wager that one of the positive reasons for building it so close to the A9 is that the stadium is well served by major trunk routes nearby so it is, or rather should be, easy to get to the ground. i see that yet again you have failed to back up your argument regarding season tickets which isn't much of a surprise to be fair. I'm not claiming that we do have more season ticket holders than Ross County. You made a claim that they have more season ticket holders than us and if you make such a claim then you need to be prepared to back it up if you are challenged on it which you still seem unable to do. Have you actually got any numbers that prove your point or are you just going to rely on guesswork?

  24. Hopefully St. Mirren so we are spared having to watch that brute Goodwin ever again. Hibs look rancid as well.

  25. The problem is not that we built a stadium so close to the A9. The problem is the traffic lights on the roundabout. I thought they were temporary whilst work was carried out on the bridge. I've driven to stadium from south when we've been sellout and never experienced the levels of traffic queuing like they were on saturday. Someone blundered there.

  28. Best idea for the roundabout....turn the feckin traffic lights off. Congestion and hold-ups weren't unheard of before, but they are far worse now. What's just as bad is that you can roll up to the roundabout at 3am and still take 5 minutes to get round the bloody thing when you're the only vehicle there.

  29. The main one was built over 15 years ago, I would be almost certain that 1 big stand would've been cheaper to build than 2 wee stands. And if you could forseen where the club was now almost 20 years ago you're a genius.

  34. All these things are happening. Season tickets for a family of four were recently given away via the Inverness Courier, the community dept had a football festival for schools a few couple of months ago in which over 500 kids participated (see video below), a more recent kids kickaround event saw over over 200 kids get the chance to be out on the park with all the players/manager/coaches and players visit various groups, organisations and schools 3 or 4 times a week. Most of these events are backed with tickets/vouchers to encourage kids to attend a game and to take parents/friends/family along with them....and in addition to that, any kids club, organisation, group or school can request (free) tickets at any time. Visitors to the stadium are given tours nearly every day and if players/manager are about then they are usually more than happy to have a chat.

  35. Great Quality football! We need to start counting the passes. There seemed to be a period of 30+ continuous passes in the 2nd half!! I just wish we could see more people coming to watch the best football I have ever seen in Inverness.

  37. If Mohammed won't come to the mountain then the mountain must come to Mohammed! i.e The club must now spend time and money in every way possible to promote this club to the fans in Inverness and district when they are on the crest like this. When they are down in the dumps that is not the time to do it because the product on the park will at that time not be so attractive. Once you can get the average punter through the turnstiles, and he enjoys what he sees, then he will come back (hopefully) and tell other people to go as well. Anything ...like a lottery offering with season tickets or a substantial ticket package as the winning prize and free entry for children. Offer tours of the stadium to boys and girls and have them meet with the Board for a brief chat and have a kick-about with rapid penalty kicks with Dean Brill for say ten minutes. He allows 70% percent to score, falling around in the wrong direction. And just have a great day inside the park. Meet the players and chit chat-very personable and very inspiring for youngsters. The kids then go home glowing and tell their parents what a great time they had and urge them to take them to a match or matches. The first time they do that they get one ticket free for another adult--that means mum can go along as well for a real family day out. Dunno if I am on the right track but it's worth a try. Suggestions?

  38. There were a couple of Jambos walking behind me after the match and one of them summed it up for me. He said "I'm disappointed but it's not a disaster. I was expecting to lose but at the end of the season it could come down to goal difference and I'm relieved we only lost by 2 - it could've been double figures!" There will be times when despite being totally dominant, the ball just won't go in. I'm just glad it happened today when we were already 2 up. Should acknowledge the great away support. They came in numbers and despite the fact that their team was totally outclassed, they never stopped singing. That must give great encouragement to their young and inexperienced team.

  39. I agree. It has taken over 130 years of professional football being played in Scotland for a team from Inverness to be in this position and goodness knows when, if ever it will happen again. This could well be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Get away from the TV, forget about charms of The Eastgate Centre and the Retail Park and get yourself along to the stadium and, while you're about it, bring a friend or two with you.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
