don' t think a board member should be discussing such negative issues in public.

lan Simpson,, I have been watching the video highlights of the recent games showing on this website and, c'mon, this team is playing quite well. Maybe they are not taking their chances around the goals and/or may have been unlucky on more than one occasion to get the ball as close to the net as they would have liked but some of the other goalies' performances in this league are athletic and highly noteworthy, IMHO.. Not to mention that our team has scored from rather difficult situations, surrounded by the other teams' players and so on. And they have stopped losing matches now it seems . So they need your support, not whining and severe criticism. Anyway, from the highlights I do see ambition and effort in this team and considering what a poor start we made at the beginning of the season, can't you even give them one season to coalesce and develop? Remember that everybody except Pimples make mistakes. So, let's give J R his due. He has taken a lot of newbies in the door, worked them hard and it's obvious that they are all, for the most part, fit as fleas and willing to make the effort until the bitter end. And, boy, would you ever regret your harsh criticisms if they did enter the playoffs and ....holy smokes.... what if they actually won promotion? Sackcloth and ashes time for the criticisers I guess.? Aye!

It was myself who asked one if the young fans about this on Twitter when they mentioned being threatened with a 12 week ban for standing up. Of all the issues we have as a club right now they choose to put energies into this? Utter nonsense.

Is anyone else starting to get quite irritated by this chairman? Now while it's wrong for fans to be racist, run on the pitch and generally be an idiot, this is once again another vilification of supporters. How many times has the club released a statement praising its fan base over the course of this season? None that I can think of. Yet we've had numerous statements over bad behaviour. The other week we won the Irn Bru Cup and the first act of the chairman was to release a very ambiguous statement about a rammy in the half time pie queue. We're apparently trying to attract new fans. People who are thinking about coming will look at these statements and think 'we aren't going in there with those hooligans'. It'd be interesting to know what the chairman's football background is. From the sounds of things, it doesn't sound like he has one.

Ladies day tomorrow.....I'm not banking on any of them still being in the stadium come kick-off 😲

maybe just maybe the board should spend their time concentrating on how they can VASTLY improve our financial position. I really can' t believe they even discussed a ban plan.

Is that while said incumbent was making attack after attack of the clubs budget and board, while alienating many of its players and bringing in duds like Liam Hughes and Dani Lopez?

Those last 5 games are going to be tough with the absences noted above. If we do come up short this season, I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that the main reason, over the season, would be our indiscipline. I've stopped counting the number of red and yellow cards we've had, plus the penalties we've conceded. Although marginally better of late it is still an issue that the manager has to get right next season.

The club has embarrassed themselves with this, apparently they were handed this as they walked into the ground..... superb welcome. Would be interesting to know what the target group for these was.... Like it or not, these fans are the future of our club and need to be encouraged (within the rules) to continue to back the team - yes misbehavior needs to be managed, but issuing a 'scare' to people who so far this season have sat and watched the game in the same manner as everyone else is ridiculous. Worth pointing out to the chairman that at the Irn-Bru Cup final and the Scottish Cup final the main celebrations from the players was towards those creating the atmosphere - these people cannot be ignored and need to be actively encouraged to attend game and continue to support the team. Already I have noticed that various younger members of the group are now attending Nairn games and trying to bring an atmosphere there which I think says a lot about the welcome they have received from Inverness. It may well be too late to recover the relationship with these fans, but those who are still disgruntled need to be addressed as a priority. The current board have discussed their priorities as 'improved communication and collaboration with you the fans our most important and valuable asset' but quite frankly I haven't experienced such a poor relationship between the board and fans since the Mike Smith era. A few of my favorite quotes from our chairman are as follows from his message on the 24th of August. 'I recorded more than 25 subjects for us to follow up and we will get back to you with a list of action points and timescales for delivering them' 'These are all valid issues which we intend to tackle in a priority and managed way' 'It is easy to talk the talk. We have a lot to do to win back your trust by setting out our action plan and delivering this will see us walk the walk' I'll let you decide if these have been followed through... Am I right in thinking that all clubs have a Supporters Liasion Officer? Does anybody know this persons remit? I would expect that they should be managing this situation far closer that they appear to be and Liase a lot closer with the current board and the fans who have been disgruntled since day one of this regime. The fact that this person is so far unknown is laughable and points out that they are clearly failing in this role. 'Don't be drunk in our ground but our bar is open early tomorrow for you'

If only we had a manager who didn't whore out players like Christie on the cheap for some inexplicable reason. Oh wait...
  12. 2 points
Totally agree quality over quantity nxt season i.e. 1 decent striker on wages of 2 duff ones get a decent starting 11 and pad out the squad with the youth players who nos might unearth another gem like Christie! Look at Daniel mackay hopefully a top player for us in years to come gotta give the kids a go sometime

Not passing judgement on the board, but quite happy to do so with fans? I don't disagree on the dangers of taking these rumours at face value....which is why I started my response with "if true". However, as I'm pretty sure you have alluded to in the past, when there's a lack of meaningful communication then you can't really be surprised that the information vacuum is filled with stuff like that. In regards to the document. I couldn't say with 100% certainty that it's real and came from the club, but it's a little elaborate for someone to be putting together for a bit of mischief making. I'd also add that I don't think the idea of a disciplinary matrix is a bad idea as people know where they stand and what to expect if they cross the line. However, you have to be very careful where you place that line, that punishment is proportionate and that it's communicate in the correct manner to all. As is, it kinda looks like a very specific group have been targeted and that's only going to fuel claims of discrimination.

If true, then surely the question has to be why we were committing to such spending in the first place? It wasn't that long ago the Chairman issued a statement saying the club was still trying to secure further investment to get us through the season and, unless they are totally winging it (entirely possible) then, it's not just in the last few days they'll have decided budget cuts for the footballing dept....so we likely never had the necessary funds! More empty promises?

In Scotland, only Premiership clubs are required to have an SLO....and even that is little more than a box ticking exercise as there's little laid down in terms of the function/s they must perform/fill. Historically, ICTFC operated on the basis that the "SLO" was a function and not a person (although they did have a named person in the Premiership). This meant that the correct person could/would liaise with supporters depending on what the situation required. That meant that anyone, including the chairman, could and would be assigned to a relevant scenario....and on occasion when it perhaps needed the knowledge/skills of more than one person, the internal communication was such that this could be quickly put together and/or a degree of trust that if one person had to make a decision on behalf of someone else they could do that without fear of being rebuked. It wasn't perfect, but it made the most efficient use of the resources the club had available. To my knowledge we don't have an operational SLO at the moment. It's possible someone may carry the title, but based on my time operating at the club under the current chairman/board there certainly wasn't the level of communication between board/senior management and staff that would have allowed them to fulfil that function in any meaningful way, shape or form. In the absence of an SLO then fans could normally expect a supporters group to fulfil the function of liaising with a club on their behalf.....but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

That is what I have been trying to put across Chris. After Dumbarton it is games against teams more favoured to secure a top 4 finish and two very difficult away games - plus I think that the Arabs have the easier run in. But secure another 6 points and we put the pressure on the other teams and give ourselves a chance that has never looked at all possible until now. If I was a bookie I would be setting the odds against us - but hey ho we could be the Scottish Roma ?

Truly appalling record but I sense we are a different team now mentally, of course, it all depends on other teams results against one another.

Can't agree with that. The fans while somewhat surprised were very supportive of RF and wanted him to succeed. If anything I'd say we were too lenient on him because of who he was.

Banned for being drunk in the stadium, for some of the performances earlier this season alcohol would have seemed a good option to make it through them!!!
  24. 1 point
Least surprising statement of the season. Tying up the younger players on longer deals is the only option for now. The club needs to consider which of those can step up next year and have the next crop of youth as back up, then using the very limited resources left to bring in the highest quality possible - what we need is a strong proven performer at each position throughout the spine of the team. There has to be an acceptance that our starting/best 11 has to be strong enough to challenge for the title and that the rest of the squad is limited or just youth - its the only way to spread the budget.
  25. 1 point
The young team was never banned. Only four, who have since been allowed back.
  26. 1 point
True story is it any wonder the fans can get disgruntled at times watching some of the "football " that's been served up this season! The entire young teams been banned or stopped coming because there scared to shout killing the atmosphere we did have stone dead

Jaggernaut's posting above is one of the most intuitive and smart assessment posts of late. This team is gelling very well and obviously enjoy playing with each other. Based on what I have seen in the ongoing videos I am surprised at the overall quality of this team. I really am. Their passing is great, the effort they are putting in is fantastic and the skill level is no mean shakes at all. And what surprises me about these games is that the pace of the game is much higher than formerly and great to watch. As for Jake, now that he seems to be heeding J R's advice and is concentrating on his performance rather than losing his temper and doing his Hamlet act on the park, he is a force to be reckoned with. His ball control and speed are awesome and he can become a very much appreciated member of this team if he really puts his mind to it--and, of course, not doing his future career any harm at all in the process. This end of the season performance(s) is very encouraging and so...onward and upward then. YESSSSSSS.!

Like it or not (and I'm not a fan of the idea), just about every club in the country relies to some extent or other on "Sugar Daddies" (or Mummies). Be it to keep the wolves from the door or to try and push on further after a positive spell, clubs crave more than their income/turnover provides. We have to one degree or another done so our entire existence and will continue to do so regardless of which league we are in next season. The only question is who they are and how they go about it.

At least it's still good to be in the running this late in the season.

Thanks to all - I am a fan of the TV programme " The Chase " - about a week ago it was a question, The contestant got it wrong - " The Beast " , got it right. That was how I came to know the information. By the way picking holes in a 74 years old spelling mistakes smacks of someone with nothing better to do with his time.- You should note Ian Callaghan has two LLs in his name I will be taking time out from this Forum as my wife says I waste too much time on it, When I should be drinking sherry and bookselling and gardening I am off to Aintree tomorrow I will be there at the Grand National in The Tattersalls ring . See, you all next season. God Bless !

"taking Draper and Mckay back from County" What planet are people on? Why would we "take" them back? County apparently paid £100,000 for Draper, are we going to phone up and ask for him back? Also, we don't have to just keep signing the same players. We can sign new players.

Our league record so far against the teams we are still to play (Dumbarton, Livingston, Dunfermline and Morton). P -11 W - 2 D - 3 L - 6 F - 8 A - 16 I think some people are underestimating how hard winning these games is going to be. It's possible but I think it's very unlikely. We haven't beaten Morton or Livingston all season.

Expectations for the season were that as a team relegated with the parachute payment from the Premiership and one of the top player budgets in the league was to be competitive & fighting for the title, not celebrating the fact that we have been horrific with no goals or creativity and excluding our league successes over Brechin have pretty average stats at best - yet somehow are still stumbling towards a potential play-off place (miracle). Using St Mirren or Dunfermline as examples is great, but these are clubs with bigger fan bases who have shown that if you don't bounce back up will end up struggling for years - both clubs are successful now due to whole board changes and investment, with fans coming back and being excited by the management, philosophy and young players - where can anyone see this happening for ICT in the near future? The point about 'close season' is that the mess was made last year (changes this year wont help that). Other than a few well worded statements what has Graeme Rae done to impress more than any previous members - board members have come and gone without clarity, he's made the 'right' noises but where is his plan if we don't go up this year? Statements regarding losses & the financial position need to be addressed and as paying fans we have the right to know what is going to be on offer in order to encourage parting with money for next season - if we are not serious about building a team capable of promotion then costs need to be addressed accordingly. What are the 'foundations' you refer to - where are these being implemented - what will increase footfall and ultimately revenue, as neither Robbo or the playing squad excite currently & where's the investment coming from or going to - we still lag behind at youth level - that's the future, but probably 5 years from now at least if its done right.

Tbh I expected way better from us this season really thought we'd be slugging it out for the title surely our budgets bigger than likes of Livi! Some of our performances would've put an insomniac to sleep! But wer still in with a shout of play offs hopefully get there even less of a budget next season!

I second that. Give the lad a proper chance instead of just these 10 minute cameos. Re Billy, I cannot believe that anyone would seriously want him back. He has been overrated for years in my opinion.

From an outsiders point of view it seems a shame that so much bickering is going on. Can we not come together have a meeting sort out the ground rules and try and move on. At least the football is better to watch which to me is the main concern. I know this might be a simplistic point of view but it would seem more complicated to work out than brexit or who poisoned who its football, jackets for goals and off we go. Another 3 points to night is my concern

You'll have to wait until I get a hold of Shorty's uncle's pal so I can check I've got it right. Please note, as illustrated at the start of the second paragraph of my last post, that I was in no way seeking to pass judgement in either direction on what the board does. I was a full step short of that since I was only at the stage of attempting to establish the accuracy or otherwise of two claims to that effect.

Was that the same day as your auntie's bingo partner told her she'd heard in the supermarket that Ronaldo had been seen in Dingwall and heading for the Global Energy Stadium? I'm NOT in any way suggesting that the club's activities should be exempt from scrutiny or criticism on this forum - when this is based on evidence which is sufficiently authenticated. However this is at least the second instance of an aspect of the club's alleged governance which is currently being examined on here, but based on evidence which is at best unclear (notwithstanding which, the apparently aggrieved caleyboy, with all the characteristics of Death and Taxes, pops up both times and takes a snipe.) In the case of the quoted post, judgement is being passed on the basis of things which Gordy Fyfe is alleged to have told a friend of Shorty's uncle. I think I would prefer somewhat more reliable evidence on the source, and that the alleged course of action is actually taking place, before I passed judgement on anything. Then, in another thread, we at least have the image of a document apparently listing sanctions for misbehaviour - with Twitter the only source listed. But once again, no attempt is made to evaluate or authenticate this document. For instance, what is it? What is its purpose? Does it constitute definite policy or is it a list of proposals from one individual or what? Who created it? Is it created privately, a leaked internal memo, or intended for public consumption? Notwithstanding all these questions, it still seems to have been treated in the same way as a formal website statement might have been. What the board actually does rightly is, and rightly should be, appraised by supporters. But first of all, this really does need to be based on something a bit more reliable than what Shorty's uncle's friend is claimed to have been told.

Gordie Fyfe told a friend of my uncle that they had to cancel work on the pitch for the summer that was going to cost £100000 because we've run out of money and are worried season ticket numbers are going to fall again.

I could ask 'what did you expect this season' after all that happened last summer? We need to just get behind Robbo & the guys just now & keep pushing. A good season this season, to me is not going down again - just ask Dunfermline & also look at St Mirren....almost league 1 this season, now Premier league next season! It's a fair point about the 'behind the scenes' stuff, but surely that's better dealt with close season? Personally, I've been quite happy with Graeme Rae's tenure as chairman - it's not a quick fix, it's about building proper foundations.

Somebody must be showing you edited highlights of games iv been to games this season that have been brutal on the eye! Signs of improvement for sure but overall a very disappointing season I sound negative but really expected a title battle this season! A lot of the budget been wasted on absolute sh&te players who'd struggle at highland league level
