Interesting move from Hibs.  Do they need central midfielders?

You know why Butcher's doing that, it's because Hughes hasn't really seen Vincent play yet apart from in training and has thus probably hasn't offered a new deal to someone he's barely seen play.

Butcher knows full well how good he is and trying to get in ahead and have this one wrapped up before we do.

A curse upon your house Terry Butcher  :frustrated01:

Not in the least surprised by this. A fine player and a Butcher recruit. However, if he is going to Easter Road let it be at the end of the season once his contract is up unless Hibs have a spare hundred thousand pounds just now.

Butcher GTF bad enough he left us the way he did and now hoping to pick off our players. How often did he preach about loyalty. Why not show some respect for Ict and those who supported him through good and bad times

Well said !!!

Always a dangerous business to let leak information on targets as it doesn't look very good when they reject your advances.

I'd be more bothered about losing Draper to Hibs rather than Vincent. Nothing against the guy but I just haven't seen enough of him to say how much of a loss he'd really be.

I agree but a little bit harsh on butcher. When he was here he wanted the players to commit to something special and stay together but im afraid he left us and doesnt need to show any loyalty to us by not poaching some of our players which he brought signed for us. The fact of the matter is that his job is to make Hibernian better and yes im sure he will marsella looking around the country but it is easier to bring players in that he has worked with before so im afraid this was always a likely scenario. Not happy but whatever happens with Vincent we will always go on and Hughes hasnt got a bad track record for finding a few gems.

Why should we care what Butcher's job is, gingerjaggy?  He left us, now he's trying to weaken our team.  Sod him.  He chose to leave a team going somewhere.  Give it ten years and we can be nostalgic. Not now.

As expected. Was always going to be Vincent or Draper or both). I think we'll probably lose him for a song now (or free in summer). Galling, given that we only got 3 or 4 games out of him! I wouldn't be surprised if, in 2 years' time we saw ICT 2013 reincarnated in green and white (Meekings, Shinnie, Warren, Raven?, Brill?) Easy way to success for Butcher and a real kick in the guts for us!!

The best thing for this S P, is to say absolutely nothing.

Butcher never did this when with ICT. He tended to keep tight lipped about potential signings...big headedness has obviously kicked in.

I hope he stays. Lad showed a lot of promise early doors. Maybe ask him to not commit to anything.

I don't really buy into the "We spent a lot of money getting him fit again" ideology. 1) Surely clubs are insured to cover these events and 2) as an employer of staff working in a dangerous work place (surely one of the higher risk jobs injury wise, along with vending machine reloading) then the employer has a duty of care to it's staff who risk injury by working. And as the job is a specialist one, the employer should make cover the expense of required treatment.
Besides it's a broken leg. The treatment is pretty standard across the board.

Butcher will seek some retribution on us as it is part of his personality but if players choose to go then let them.

I think TB may have more on his plate than retribution IHE.?

There is as far as I know no insurance that will 'pay to get him fit' or cover the cost of his wage to the club although there may be private medical insurance. There are many jobs out there particularly in there trades (which I'd say were more dangerous in many cases than football) where if you're ill / injured, say a joiner badly cuts their hand on a ripsnorter unless you've taken out your own insurance all you'll see is your SSP until you can do your job again. You could argue that footballers (at all clubs of course) like public sector workers are quite fortunate to have favourable sickness terms.

So yes I'd like for him to look at ICT in a positive light when weighting his options.

Agree - Retribution is merely a side salad - Narcissist crave for Northern Irish sirloin steak and thrice cooked Macclesfield chips.
