Ex-ICT players' news

Rather than starting a new thread each time there's a snippet of news regarding a former player, this thread can be used for such info.

In a similar vein to the 'Ex ICT players score' thread.

I see that Dougie Imrie has signed for Hamilton Accies. Has he still 'got it' for the top-flight? He's just endured a depressing season with a very poor Morton side. What I'm really surprised about is that he's only 30 - I always thought he'd come into senior football at a relatively late age, being snapped up from the juniors - he seems to have been around for ever!

Reluctant to wish him too much luck as he's obviously going to be in direct opposition to us next season!

Ryan Christie signs new three-year contract that 'tops off an amazing period'

Great for him and hope to see him in the Scotland squad as well.

I would rather see him sold for several million so that we can benefit from the sell on clause in his transfer to Celtic.

Ryan Christie on the receiving end of a head butt in Albania match.  Getting good reviews alongside... Stuart Armstrong.  Shinnie and Mackay-Steven on the bench.

At a loose end, went to see Queens Park 0 Raith 3 yesterday.

Playing for Raith, Nat Wedderburn. Started clumsily, gave away several fouls, lucky not to be booked, but had a good second half as Raith took control of the game.

They also had Liam Buchanan. Do I remember rightly - aeons ago he was due to sign for us and at the last minute went to Firhill or somewhere?

I went to see Cowdenbeath v Brora yesterday.  Dale Gillespie started, as did Ally MacDonald (left back - was he one of ours? He was outstanding). Zander came on at half time and ran them ragged. He was a class above. Brora were the better team by a mile but couldn’t finish a fish supper.

Ryan Christie league cup winning goal and m.o.m. The lad seems to be doing ok

El Paso Locomotive?

No a bad name that. You don't get them here. Except in Inverurie.

I notice that 'man of many clubs', Phil Roberts, has moved again, this time to Dartford in the National League South.  He scored twice today in his second game for his new club.

I like the the quote from Brendan Rodgers -

“when I first came up here, he used to be Charlie Christie's son and now Charlie is known as Ryan Christie's dad"

He will always be Charlie Christie's son to me.

Ian has been sidelined at County for some time. This might be his escape route - cancellation of contract either by mutual consent or the result of a disciplinary hearing.

He has a broken foot apparently

Aye, broken foot that RCFC's medical staff have taken months to diagnose...I thought they had a better setup than that.

Dean Brill has capped a brilliant return to playing by helping Leyton Orient back into the football league from the National League (and into a Wembley appearance in the FA Trophy Final). At the same time Garry Warren (and Alex Fisher) is heading into the National League with Yeovil likely to finish bottom of League 2.

Is Andrew Shinnie not at Luton too?

He is. Add Drapes, McKay, Vigurs and Cowie and you could probably get a decent starting XI from former ICT players promoted this season.

From a recent interview in the Birmingham Mail, Ricardo Calder is trying to rebuild his career and has been training with an professional club. He only served 10 weeks of his 9 month sentence, followed by a few weeks of tag and curfew.

What he did was appalling but hopefully he has learned a valuable lesson and can rebuild his career.

Great to hear about Brill getting success. He was great for us,
