Robbo was singing their praises in that BBC interview last week, and is keen to see some of them progress through the ranks. Could be exciting times to come.

They are certainly head and shoulders above their peers.  How to capitalise on it all after this/their U18 season ends?

Will be very interesting to see whats next. Finance may have dictated not participating in the reserve league over last couple years but maybe now with a manager and board keen to promote youth with this current group coming of age they will be tempted to put a squad back in.

Would be great to see more integrated into the first team squads earlier as we've had players in the past with ability but i struggle to see how you can expect players to make it when not playing 1st team football before 20 years of age. 

Exciting times but have to be managed correctly, the Youth Department did superbly getting them through and the development needs to keep on the same path.

Absolutely need first team football next season.  19/20 half a season in League Two, half at ICT then 20/21 half a season in league one, half at ICT?  This is what clubs/U21 Scotland players have done and why we should be signing them on contracts for three years after U18 season is done - they've earned it.  All things equal, should JR really expect anything before 21 in terms of first team?

Absolutely agree with you, loan some out to league 1 and 2 , as nothing beats playing in a mans environment competitively to bring young players on.

Excellent stuff - we do indeed have a talented 11 at U18.  Nice to see Machedo is around and making an impact.

Isn't it about time some of these young lads were given a chance in the first team? They couldn't be any worse than some of current squad particularly in midfield and up front

From what other teams do, and the path travelled by the likes of the Scotland U21 squad players, it's probably too soon for the U18s up until they are in 20s to be in and about the first team.  There will be one or two exceptions but I think once 20-21 we would want to be seeing a good number on pitch/bench.  

The Irn Bru Cup reserve teams show the gulf, but Robbo seems to have his eye on three for end of this season/next season.  

These results seem outstanding. Hopefully these boys continue to develop and topple County into our shadows once more.

big big step up from u18 to first team. they may be very good at this age level but they need something in between this and first team.

9-2 win against Fife Elite this evening. The youngsters are dishing out some hammerings this season. Hopefully see a few more of this crop in the 1st team soon enough.

Understand the fans' desire to try out the young 'uns in the first team but I  hope for only short periods at a time. I mean, maybe 45 minutes for the first game and then take it from there. Ease them in like until their confidence and desire for more starts to soar!.

It appears as if we have  a great young team though. You will have to bring In more "Roddy's" though since they are conscientious and reliable and have that winning spirit. Yesss..!

What an impressive season they are having. Could be, in the long term, that Barry Wilson will be as fine a signing as a Coach as he (twice) was as a player.
