Really feel for the brave few who travelled. Surely there must be a compensation shout ?

Absolutely.  The referee seemed to think it was OK to play less than an hour before he then called it off.  It would be interesting to know what weather recordings reveal about any change in the strength of the wind and how that compared to what was forecast.  It is rare for games to be called off due to high winds and I have no idea what the rules say about it.  Clearly it is appropriate to call a match off in circumstances such as we famously encountered at Celtic Park a few years back and I suspect it might be appropriate if the ball moves when placed for dead ball situations.  

One feels for the team and those fans who have travelled down for this and who will return home late despite the postponement.  One can't help but suspect that the game should have been called off earlier.  No doubt we will hear more in due course.

 

Robbo's comments from the P & J 

Referee Craig Thomson made the decision to call off the game less than hour before kick-off due to the adverse weather conditions.

The match was due to be screened live on BT Sport.

Caley Thistle manager John Robertson said the referee had made the correct call to postpone the game.

He said: “The pitch is great, given the amount of rain but the overhead conditions were horrendous.

“We want to put on a show but that was the main concern.”

Wonder where the fans factored in on the concern scale?

Well they clearly weren't considered when the game was originally moved so I see no reason why the SFPL/SFA would be bothered about them now.

The interests of fans, particularly those travelling from north of the Central Belt, has never been a priority. Agree with RIG that there is very little indication of that changing any time soon.

Friday night football under the lights is great but should be confined to teams within an hour's drive of each other.

Not 100% sure the game needed to be called off for overhead wind conditions! If the pitch was playable keep the ball on the ground! Bunch of wimps

Doesn't encourage the few that did travel to travel a distance during the week again, especially at this time of year.

Scottish football doesn't give a jot about the what keeps it breathing, the fans

Why if a match is in doubt due to weather conditions especially if one set of fans have a five/six hour journey to reach the ground can't SFA officials make a decision on whether a game is to take place much earlier similarly like they would before a match during the weekend, this is just tin pot amateur level here.

We may have slipped out of the final promotion play off spot but today's results worked out not too badly for us.

A weekend when we didn't play a good weekend??

I'd rather we had taken the three points yesterday and had the free weekend knowing that some of our rivals would drop points.

A game in hand against the league leaders is not an advantage over our rivals, we don't have the points in the bag. When you consider that everyone below us bar the Pars gained on us and two of the teams above pulled further away it is not that good nor comfortable.
