  • I would go for some young and hungry manager with a history of being able to scrap for results in a lower league. I don't know who that is as I have not followed League One/Two or the HL for years.

if admin beckons, as it seems, then from the ashes .... AS or SY heading the board, CC as CEO or DoF (if we need one) and any one of multiple former players working in the local area (or willing to come back - no accommodation provided) as coaches to step in and manage us from what appears to be a likely drop to League 2 back up as far as we can go (Tokely? Esson? Tremarco? Warren? Raven? Imrie? other?) . Perhaps they can be mentored by Steve Paterson in the background. Think he knows a little bit about getting ICT promoted!  

 

 

If an administrator is appointed, I’d expect changes to the backroom team to take place quickly and that Ferguson, Bollan etc would be early “casualties”, replaced with a smaller, locally based back office team.

I would suggest that after an administrator has come in and cut the outgoings on wages any idea of a coaching  'dream team' of former players would be a complete fantasy that only the likes of Scot Gardiner could dream of.

If, as expected, we go into administration then you'd imagine Ferguson will be one of the first out the door. His time in charge has been nothing short of abysmal but he might try and claim that the club was a shambles before he joined and no one could turn things around in the hope of landing another job.

I feel for whichever idiot club appoints him next.

All these guys have jobs and with our probable financial constraints we will struggle to better even what the likes of Esson are getting a Strathspey.

Any future management will be within most likely and from our new wage structure. Probably Bollan or Kellacher are most likely unless someone like Billy has coaching badges and steps into player manager. Wouldnt be a shock to see CC step in and do it as part of his many duties even short term as he wouldnt be commanding a second or third salary.

Thought Charlie did pretty well in the hotseat. I guess the advantage we can offer ex-players in the HL is progression. How much notice do you get for making Nairn a force in the top six of the HL against getting ICT promoted from the bottom rung.

I also suspect more people, like me, are more willing to shell out after admin. I was waiting to hear any rumours from AS but no need. They're publicly stated.

Dunc working for free will ensure he survives administration I suspect. Whatever happens it’s a gamble for Dunc, if he is sacked then his career in management is surely over given his previous management efforts. If we keep him on with £0 salary/minimum salary and fail thereafter, his career is over. The only way to save his career is to succeed and win, a tough task indeed given the circumstances. 
 

We’ve not seen any prospect of loan players coming from Everton, given his previous there you’d think there should be solid potential in that link. If I was Dunc I’d be begging Everton to release 4 or more quality players on loan to help us survive administration until the end of the season.
 

If we were to survive a -15 point deduction from administration then there’s something to be said for that, it would be a big feat given our current position. 

Currently I believe Dunc is waiving his salary, he is still contracted to the club and on that basis will be a high earner (if not highest) so will be at risk of termination, so unless he returns to the club after that in a voluntary role he probably will not be kept on. He has also stated he will not work for 'free' forever so ultimately will be looking for his salary back. Best hope if he finds a role down south again at a bigger club in the background and cites ICT as a basket case hence his failings thus keeping his reputation fairly in tact down there.

Legally he can't be working/employed for free. He may not be taking a wage at present but it's more likely this is him deferring payment and it will have to be paid at some point.

Only charities and not for profit organisations can have volunteer staff. The club may be a long way from making any profit but they are still a for profit organisation.

Or he’s donating his net pay back to the club, but tax and NI contributions are being taken off his gross pay as normal. 

Big Dunc will surely be sent packing come Wednesday along with his back room team. Would Spider be interested in taking the job? He did a great job at Buckie and would be a realistic option with the lack of funds

Charlie did a great job when he got the gig. But a bad run and he struggled with the weight of the job and losses. 

I'd be happy for him as DoF or something though.

Get a former player with an experienced assistant. Usually the best way at this level. Or Dick Campbell. 😄

More likely Scott Kellagher and the coaches from the academy is what the administrators will say can be afforded. Tough Times! Does admin mean you are not allowed to hire / sign anyone else until you are clear of administration?

You can't make people redundant, then hire people in those same positions.

Clear out of them all from very top to bottom. The calibre and quality (ability) of what’s came throu the youth structure over the past decade has been sadly not good enough. Why retain any of a failed system. 

Start with a clear slate and don’t close minds to looking at Dingwall.

Just drove past the the stadium. Saw Graham Potter, Gareth Southgate and Jürgen Klopp in the car park. Maybe all 3 are gagging to be involved and willing to replace our current coaching set up should there be a 'clear out' 🤣

Exactly….. they wouldn’t be made redundant, they would just utilise their coaching skills within thier existing salary or a renegotiated one. No need to fire or hire ?! 

I'm a little confused by this. Is the intimation that the club should be paying for players petrol and basic costs in addition to their salary and accommodation/bills and because they're not then Ferguson should be hailed as a hero for doing so?

Sounds to me like some players are just really bad at managing their money and acting super entitled.

I'd kill to be earning £400 a week and have no accommodation/bills to pay for.

I noticed that and it made little sense to me. Players meet at the stadium and are taken in a minibus to training I understand and are on the team bus for away games so what petrol costs are the club expected to pay? What other basic costs do the club cover? As far as I'm aware, all staff are still being paid so what's the issue? Odd.

400 a week works out at £10 an hour (based on a 40 hour week). So that's below minimum wage.

After tax it's £356 a week. 

Are they all living rent and bill free? Or would this just be loanees?

 

Negotiation of expenses and benefits is all part or relocation in business.

Whether they should or do get those requests is what should be questioned.
