History repeating itself? Then it was Wilson and Wyness, now its Munro and Tokely. Treating long standing players like this only turns the players and fans against you. Especially when you replace them with duds like Tom Aldred. Munro was our best player towards the end of his last season, Tokely finished this season strongly and won his starting place back on merit. 33 isn't over the hill for a centre half. David Weir was still playing for the Scottish Champions at 40. Poor managment imo.3 points

I have to say Luke if TB ever needs to employ a spin-doctor you're the man for that job! ;)3 points

There is a big difference in staying loyal and not going to Turkey than staying and for a lot less money than on previously, anyway no point in arguing about it you have bought the Butcher spin and will come out with excuses for him if he takes the team down. If he improves the team and keeps us up I will be delighted to be wrong and will happily eat humble pie. I am afraid my confidence in the man has gone.2 points

Going to be a bit contravesial here but NO Butcher is not to blame. The blame lies at the low fanbase. The lack of funds. The state of Scottish football. And the state of britian as a whole. Running a successfull football team needs money. The sugar daddies are few and far between. The fanbase is falling. The sponsors are tightening their belts and the whole country is fekked up. Add it all together and we, the humble citizens, cant afford our recreational hobbies.2 points

End of the line for my two season books - dreadful home performances have been making me think for a while that I could find a better use for the money, as has the treatment of some of my favourite players, but the killer was the Rangers scandal and, more to the point, the inaction, ineptitude and all-round deafening silence from footballing authorities and other clubs' boards. I care about ICT, but as a club participating in a fair footballing competition. What's happened over the last couple of months is a tacit admission that the competition is not fair, and may well not have been fair for a very long time, but that it's ok to cheat, break the rules of the association and the law of the land if you're sufficiently (self-)important: off you go, naughty Rangers, and come back as a new company when, without automatic sanctions in place, we'll probably just let you back into the SPL with a smacked bum. To me, that just isn't cricket, and it's certainly not football: more like wrestling.2 points

You make a good point Yngwie in that 'ICT hasn't retracted its contract offer'. It's made me wonder as to whether Rossco could be waiting on a better offer from another club, and should one not be forthcoming, come back accepting the offer? Who knows? I've read a lot of the comments made on here and everyone seems to think that the club (or rather, TB) is trying to dismantle the club by releasing players with legendary status. Although I can understand that point of view, I can't really join this particular bandwagon when I reflect on what TB and the club are trying to achieve. Players who we would never get outwith a loan spell have come and tried to strengthen the side. Davies, Williams, Golobart and others. All players who many have said would make the grade at a Championship level or higher. Andrew Shinnie, Billy McKay and Ryan Esson will be our heros next term, and so long as Foran encourages from the back rather than criticising from the front, we will do well I think. Rosscoe is now 33 years of age and although I still think he is still a cracking defender, I'm unsure as to if he'd be able to perform at SPL level for another full season. Grant Munro is a classic example of 'finding his level' in that he struggled in the SPL the year we got relegated, excelled at Division 1 grade, struggled back in the SPL and was again sensational at Division 1 level. Division 1 is his level. Perhaps Rosscoe's level is now also Division 1???2 points

Overuse of the word narcissist is boring everyone on here now Johndo, we all know how to spell it and thanks for the tutorials. I doubt many are now reading any of your posts because they all say the same thing. You had better get a job soon to keep you occupied or let's hope the season starts soon. Give it a rest with the tripe.2 points

Surely if we want things to get better and to be able to sign better players on better deals we all have to do our bit and help the club where we can. The more season tickets sold the more money going into the club. Also gives peeps working through the week the chance to go in and buy their ticket in person. I know the club ain't always perfect but damned if they do and damned if they don't?2 points

gordieICT, the way I see it, there is no spin coming from Butcher. Butcher hasn't said a damn thing regarding Rossco yet so where on earth is the spin of which you speak. The only 'spin' on the Rossco story is coming from The Sun, Mrs Tokely's facebook page and the theories flying about these very forums as a result. And all from the same very people who have moaned about Munro's departure all season. Call me a happy clapper, accuse me of falling into butchers so called trap or whatever the heck you like. The FACT of the matter is Rossco was offered a contract and he has refused it. There simply wouldnt be this discussion if Munro and Duncan hadn't been released last year, nor would there be this discussion had it been any other member of the squad. I can;t wait to see what happens next year when Ross or Sutherland get released. But I bet it'll have some sort of 'butcher slaughters our team' conspiracy attached to it.1 point

I don't think I'll buy one because of the way the club treats it's long serving players... Oh wait, sorry. Just with other threads going the same way I'm in the habit of seeing negativity... I buy a shirt every season and actually liked the design of some of the other clothing range last season. The white tracksuit jacket in particular. Looking forward to seeing this years design. Hopefully it'll be striped again and not a 'swoosh' effect as per a couple seasons back.1 point

I can't see any similarities between munro and tokely's departures. Munro was told weeks before the end of the season that no offer would be forthcoming. Rossco has been offered a new deal and turned it down. All season people have moaned about munro's departure. I fear another season forthcoming of non-supportive jibes and negativity in the fan base because of Rossco not staying on. Time to move on...1 point

No not soley to blame but his treatment of established players, dreadful tactics and blaming everybody else apart from himself makes him more guilty of our current problems than anyone else. I hope I am wrong and he turns things around as I think we are stuck with him, after all I can't see anyone else wanting him1 point

I am just waiting for a fans representative to pop up on Reporting Scotland shortly to confirm that it is all the creditors fault and they are organising a boycott!1 point

Really hope that Hogg comes back as strong a player as he was. It was a horrendous injury and for anyone to recover fully from it shows a huge amount of mental and physical strength. Encouraged by the news that his recovery is coming along well and certainly hope that he is fit and ready to come back to the team soon1 point

The contract offer seems to have been rejected via Facebook and The Sun .... the club cant really make an official statement until its been rejected to them officially. Isn't Tokely quoted in the papers as saying that he messaged Butcher to say he would not be accepting? Of course the papers could be adding that bit in or maybe he never got the text....1 point

golobart gave his heart and soul to us last season, i think hes 1 in a million, very rarely will you find a player that joins you as a 19 year old who will make mistakes and will always bounce back every time. i think he will go far in his career.1 point
-
Sorry got to disagree with that. Golobart may have had a reputation for some eccentric moments last season but at his best he was the difference at times between us winning and losing games and for the ability he showed at such a young age there was little doubt in many minds that he would defnitely hack it at Championship level.1 point
-
You'd have to be crazy if you think Golobart and Williams are Championship level players, Grant Munro is a better defender than both of them. Ross Tokely kept Williams out of the first 11 last season, and your insisting he might only be of division 1 level? Now i can understand that people might think Golobart has the POTENTIAL to be a really good player but by no means was he amazing for us. He was here on a 1 year loan deal, nothing else. No one will convince me that he was a better option than Munro just because Golobart had potential to be a good player.1 point

with st johnstones attendences, im shocked at the amount of players they are bringing in. i think there could be trouble brewing for them. as long as we stay up we should be able to keep our books balanced. some added interest with the derbies, we could do ok next year in terms of cash. but aslong as we arnt in unpayable debt im happy. if that means we cant buy players or compete with other clubs with wage demand etc i dont care, id rather have a club to support in 20 years time what ever league that may be in, than a successful one now.1 point
-
Where are the fans when the club needs them? Reduced attendances, reduced ticket sales, reduced income from commercial! The reality is that this is happening to all clubs. The team which finished third and are in europe have a £200k reduction in their wage budget ('punishment' for failing to sell a player for reasonable return)! The reality is that the investment has more to do with dealing with last season's losses than this coming season's incoming players.1 point

I have never been so angry and truely wish that I hadn't renewed my season tickets. Butcher will ruin our club whilst Bennet and the Chairman (who is he?) stand by. We need a high profile Chairman who can take overall charge of the club. In the past we have had McGillivary, Sutherland and Savage to name a few all very highly thought of and driven men. Ross should have been offered a place for life with our club. Gutted angry and fearfull that we will be relegated next season.1 point
-
It isn't all Butcher's fault but we are getting players pinched from us from the likes of St Johnstone who finished below us in the SPL last year and who get smaller average crowds than us. Butcher has been awful in the transfer market and has replaced Caley Thistle stalwarts with some pretty ropey players who have not stayed at the club. I'm not asking that we sign the likes of Messi. I would just like to see us pick up more players from the Scottish lower leagues who are more likley to stay in the area longer than someone born in England. I'm reserving my proper judgement until I see some replacements coming in,. For all I know Butcher is looking to bring in some gems. I am slightly doubtfull.1 point

Blasted when they don't try and blasted again when they do....get the feeling that some people are never happier than when they are stirring the shit and looking for an argument. There's people knocking their pan in trying to make things a bit better under extremely difficult circumstances and all others can do is sit behind a keyboard, criticise and do feck all but leave those who are trying with a feeling of "why bother?". Give yourselves a shake, FFS.1 point

Butcher had better do better next season or he is finished. Granty now Tokely, the heart has been ripped from the club and the fans will not forgive that if he has a another season like last.1 point

I have a phottie of Rosscoe having his breakfast when the text came through from Terry Butcher :1 point

You mean the McBain that wanted a free transfer as he didn't like being a squad player. Much like Tokely. The McBain that, although a much respected ICT ex-player, was no way still SPL quality, just like Duncan. It's any stick isn't it Renegade? No matter the promotion, the year-long unbeaten away, the almost top six. Every time, from first to last, it's been criticism. And now, at the age of 34, after he had been given a two-year deal, after being offered another deal to stay, after getting a lot of negativity from posters on here, somehow Butcher's big plan was to axe Tokely from the beginning. Here's my prediction then. Foran will eventually stop playing for ICT. It's been Butcher's plan from the start that eventually players in their mid-30s will be past their best. I strongly suspect Ryan Esson will go the same way in a few years. It's ridiculous allowing managers to manage their own way. Bring back Wyness. He might have been well past it by the time he left but at least he was ICT. It's nostalgia masquerading as opinion.1 point

Well thats me renewed my ST i'm looking forward to next season & am going to remain positive & support ICT regardless of whats going on with Rangers ..... MON THE CALEY !!1 point

The club are going to risk losing out on hundreds of pounds just to save themselves the cost of a stamp....are you for real!!!! Given the volume of letters sent...and having helped put the renewal packs together I know there were thousands...then it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a few would go astray within the postal system and it's also not beyond the realms of possibility that of those then more than one would be a user on here. Yes CaleyD I was being 100% for real, I really honestly thought that folk at TCS were fighing over a book of stamps! I've put a wee smiley in here (which I couldn't do in my previous posts as I was on my phone) which will hopefully make it a bit easier for you to see that it was not a comment to be taken literally. There are many things that are 'not beyond the realms of possibility' but that doesn't mean it happened. Perhaps the postmaster in the Inverness sorting office is a County supporter! (See I did the same thing with the smiley again). The club are going to risk losing out on hundreds of pounds just to save themselves the cost of a stamp....are you for real!!!! Not to put words in Fraz's mouth, I think the comment was meant tongue in cheek Well done Martin, A+ for you correctly deciphering my complex prose.1 point

Yeah, I'll not be buying another Errea one, their quality is woeful for something that is supposed to be suitable for the rigors of a football game and the sizes bizarre. Feel cheap plus pulled threads and bobbling after just wearing 2/3 times, for £40 no thanks. When I complained I was told it was my fault somehow, strange then that I have Scotland strips from when I was in secondary school and they still hold up fine 15 years later!!1 point
