Fantastic. I shall be renewing my season ticket immediately. As I live in London, I only ever get to about half the home games so I only buy the season ticket to support the club, who are now once more deserving of that support. Well done to the board and the Chairman. I am now off to look at the fixture list and get logged on to flybe.com. PT9 points

Well done Kenny. From the formation of our club in 1994, the amazing 3rd Division title season of 1997, THAT win on February 8th 2000, the First Division title of 2004, and the First Dvision title of 2010, I don't think i've ever felt so proud of our club. Heart of Midlothian, Dundee United, Hibernian, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen FC. The five clubs have shown the rest that fair play must come first.. I expect many other clubs to start saying no, (now it's filtering in that St Johnstone and even Kilmarnock are going to say no.) Now is the time for all of us to really get behind the club. I wasn't going to bother with buying the new strip as I haven't bought a strip in a few years, but as soon as it is released, I'll be placing my order. Every little helps. O2B. The first 5 clubs were significant. These 5 clubs have set the ball rolling to rebuild the game. We are 1 of them. The Famous Five! O2B a Jaggie!.4 points

"We have listened to all our customers and taken the decision and we now look forward to their support going forward," added Cameron. In other words, those who said they would only buy a season ticket if we voted no, put your money where your mouth is!4 points

This really is an affirmation of faith in the supporters and in scottish football by the Board and particularly by the Chairman. I have no doubt that we will all be asked to dig deep this season to support the club, but I for one will do so on the back of this decision.2 points

England, rather than bleat on about how heartbreaking and unlucky it is to go out on penalties, why not try playing a bit of football in the 90/120 minutes and at least go out with a fight?2 points

So basically, SPL Clubs have been relying on playing 3rd-11th fiddle to the OF for eternity and have based their incomes, not on what they make as football clubs through their own efforts, and regarding what they get from being in the SPL as a bonus for as long as they are in the SPL, but on what the OF has allowed them to have to keep them on board their self-launched ship of fools? And the problems are not as much with one or both of the OF going..but the fact that most of the rest of the SPL live above their own means all the time and can't afford to lose either of them? Any way we can get the OF, both of them, deported to anywhere else in the world as undesirable elements in Scottish football, and get back to the reality that we have far too many professional/semi-professional football clubs for the numbers of punters living in Scotland to support in the manner they have grown to feel they deserve, partly because too many of us are OF glory hunters and not real football supporters, so don't take any notice of local teams? Even the SFA has refused to bite that bullet with no effort to reduce the number of clubs in the divisions in their current self-serving "revamp". Can't see a lot of difference between the various governing bodies of football in Scotland dickering round the edges of what suits them on the assumption that any change is useful change and UK Governments doing the same with the benefits system in the UK. Neither do forward thinking at all. What we need is either a short-term fix to allow us time to work out the best way to do sensible and pragmatic, so we don't live eternally in a situation in which football success can only mean threads like this turning up with regular monotony (and I'm not convinced the current SFA "offer" will do that as it is too short term time-wise)...or a whole revamp of SFA, SPL and SFL rules so that there are laid down, immutable and fair penalties for every possible transgression which could possibly, conceivably ever occur..but that would assume that self-interested clubs can see past the end of their self-interested "there but for the grace of god go I tomorrow" noses and do thinking about the best thing for Scottish football and not with the aim of perpetuating their own club's position within it Will be reading any response from here .2 points

It's getting to that time of year again when we wonder what next seasons home strip will be. Personally I would love it if we got shot of errea! The quailty of the strips are always pathetic and reminds me of the fake tops you can get abroad. Also with c*unty having nike i feel almost jealous of them. However I've lost all hope that we will ever get rid of errea because as far as I'm aware we get paid to use their shirts. So, what (errea) design would you wish for in the 2012-14 seasons? I like Brightons last two home shirts. I have a link below, just scroll down untill you find them. brighton also use errea, so just imagine either the 2010-11 0r 2011-12 shirt in blue and red and thats what i would like. A sort of barca esque blue and red striped shirt aswell would do nicely! http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Brighton_and_Hove_Albion/Brighton_and_Hove_Albion.htm1 point

Can the supporters Trust be a vehicle for cash donations that are then used to buy shares in the club. This way the generosity of the fans of today, in supporting the club in its moments of need, can build a lasting legacy of share ownership, and therefore a stronger voice in the club.1 point

Well Done Kenny, It makes me extremely proud to support a club that values sporting integrity at the forefront of it's ideals, we can now look forward to the season ahead and hopefully this sorry saga in Scottish football can start on the road to recovery and show the world that the values of fair play and sportsmanship that us Scots have always been known for can come to the forefront.1 point

Motherwell likely to say no and Killie looking like doing a U turn after supporters overwhelmingly voted no to NewCo. I know that we moan about losing players to other teams due to lack of resources but I'd rather have a team to support than a bunch of crooks behind the scenes running my team into the ground.1 point

I have been messaged by a couple of folk on here and one suggestion mooted was that some of us who are overseas or otherwise not at the TCS on a regular basis could possibly club together and buy 'some' season tickets (quantity obviously depends on level of interest and how much was pledged). These tickets could then then be used by others (perhaps on payment of a portion of the equivalent match fee directly to ICT (?)) or maybe given out for charity or something like that ..... Like the person who suggested it to me I havent thought through the specifics yet, but we will be happy to try and drive any fundraising ideas, or to publicise and push those ideas towards the Supporters Trust if the management of them is more appropriate that way. If the site members feel it is warranted, perhaps - in this new spirit of unity - we might want a small sub-forum for fundraising ideas and such like ? Definitely a thread of its own though rather than getting lost in here ! Of course, for our own part, CTO will now go ahead and try to get names of site members who want to re-subscribe to or rejoin our player sponsor group so we can also contribute to the club this way and we will likely make our own contribution on top of that. If ever there was a time for all of us to dip into our pockets and help the club that time is now. We can all do our part, no matter how large or small that assistance is.1 point

If only the people running football over here were as sensible as those running MLS. The amount of money bring thrown around by big clubs in England and the rest of Europe is really harming the game, especially at grassroots level. In the last year or so I've become quite disillusioned with it and I do wish we could move to a more MLS style system, it definitely seems fairer and sounds like it's actually a competitive and exciting league.1 point

Open Letter from ICT Suppporters Trust to Kenny Shiels - http://ictsupporterstrust.co.uk/news/trust-news/241-open-letter-to-kenny-shiels1 point

Don't know about others but I was very disappointed with Kenny Cameron's statement. To me there seemed to be a clear message that whilst the strong feeling of supporters was acknowledged, this was to be first and foremost a business decision on what the Board consider best for the club and Scottish football. It sounds as though the Board has been listening too much to Green who has asked Boards to make a business decision when they vote on July 4th. Let's be clear. This is not about business. Business is about making money and giving shareholders a return on their investment. Since when have any shareholders in ICT ever expected a return on their investment? Shareholders in ICT have put money into the club to help bring a standard of football to Inverness that they and the rest of the paying public want to see. Our return on investment is entertainment and hopefully success on the park. There will be no entertainment if ICT play Rangers newco because nobody will be there to watch the game. It may be that the Board is persuaded that an SPL without Rangers will not be in the best financial interests of the club, but so what? If that is the case then it will be the responsibility of the Board to cut expenditure to match any loss in revenue. That is a small price to pay to behave in a principled way by saying "no" to a newco that has absolutely no right to a place in the SPL. I was also very disappointed to hear that there had been a full and frank exchange of views in discussions between the club and the Supporters' Trust. That suggests that there were clearly differing views. But why were there discussions in the first place? There is nothing to discuss. Rangers newco is a club that has never played a game of football in its existance. It must start at the bottom like we and everybody else did. We expect the club to vote "no" and we expect the club to make an official statement to that effect in the near future.1 point

Although not strictly "ICT" subject matter, and the OP posted it in the correct forum for non-ict and non-football topics, I have "used my admin powers for good" and pinned and moved it from there into ICT as that is the forum that gets the most views and hopefully more people will read it and sponsor Julie. If anyone wants to complain about that action ... please contact me by PM and not in the thread !!!1 point

Going by papers and radio, its more likely to be a halfway house result. Servco admitted to SPL, then to appease fans, a demotion to 1st Div. Coincidentaly, asuming Servco get promoted, the new SKY deal would be due then. Not very satisfactory IMO. The SPL must think fans are stupid if they think we can't see through it. Its all but giving in to Servco. No vote should mean, No compromise, No more chances, No easy way back, No Newco in SPL, Div 1, Div21 point

Dear Mr Cameron, My wife and I started watching Caledonian Thistle (remember there was no Inverness back in those days) in 1995, during the club's second season in the league. Since then, our family (ourseleves and our three boys) have supported the team the length and breadth of Scotland, enjoying (and sometimes enduring) the highs and lows of life on the road as a football supporter. Memories such as being one of the 'Stranraer 2' the night Jim Farry made Inverness return south, just 48 hours after a frozen pitch saw off our cup tie; being one of the 'Berwick 17' the night we got dumped out of the league cup; the 5-1 humping we took at Cappielow on a Friday night before Scotland hosted England the next day in the Euro playoffs; Feb 8th 2000; Caledonian Stadium when (a) we got promotion to the SPL the first time (b) we got relegated; the 7-0 game Somerset Park; the 4-3 game at Livingston... the list just goes on and on... these are the memories that define the very soul of a football supporter. It's not just about the result, it's about how you got there: it's about the journey. I believe that whatever you achieve in life, you must earn it; indeed the satisfaction to be gained by doing things the hard way, the proper way, far outweigh anything that you can get on the cheap. Ask any Caley Thistle Highland Marcher how it feels when you get to that ground at the other end of the walk... And so to 'The Rangers Football Club'... this football club has no history for it is a new club. It may have a ground and wonderful training facilities, but it (currently) has no players, and hence no team. I have spent 17 years on the road with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and here we are, about to welcome our neighbours from over the bridge into the same promised land that we have been part of for so long. Seventeen long years that Highland football has taken to sit at the top table... But now, because it suits the commercial interests of not only the Central Belt majority but the mainstream Scottish media, whose very existence has for so long depended on what was once The Old Firm, we are being force fed the notion that Scottish football needs The Rangers in the SPL. It does not. The Rangers have not earned their right; indeed they have not yet earned their right to any place in the Scottish league. The likes of Spartans and Gala Fairydean have, in my opinion, every bit as much of a right to a place in the league. So in summary, I would say this: if there is one part of Scotland that should understand how it feels to earn the right to play in the SPL, that place is in the Highlands. There is absolutely NO WAY that The Rangers FC should be granted a place in the SPL without first having earned the right by promotion through the league structure, and in the event that it should happen, then my family will never again return to the Scottish game.1 point

The SPL don't have the power to "send them to Division 3". They only have the power to say yes or not to entry to the SPL and what happens if the result is a No vote is entirely out of SPL hands. The misinformation coming from some quarters really doesn't do much to help understanding of the situation.1 point

Graham Spiers tweeted earlier: "If current vibes are correct then Celtic, Dons, Hibs, D Utd, M'Well + St Mirren all set to vote RFC to Div 3. A dire fate - but a just one.” I sincerely hope ICTFC also vote to send them to Division 3.1 point

Dear Mr Cameron This will be the most important vote this club has had to make since the votes in 1993 Now in them days the existing fans were clearly shafted resulting in a very large numbers of stayaways which still has repercussions to this day hence our average attendance Call it a warning from history but I sincerely hope the club has learnt from the catastrophic mistakes from the past and vote a 100% NO to re-admitting a Newco to the SPL The last thing this club needs is to increase it's number of refuseniks all be it for a totally different reason I've not emailed the club this but if CaleyD could read it in it's entirety at the next supporters trust get together with the club I would be very grateful Regards Dougal1 point
