I think it's not unreasonable to say that was probably the weakest starting XI the club has ever put on the field (recent Hamilton game aside) and I'm including 3rd division days here. A number of these guys are simply not professional footballers, and these are Dodds' signings. 9-1 on aggregate from our two visits to Firhill this season is quite the statistic yet Gardiner and Co. will do nothing. The club is in terminal decline and we need radical change NOW!

The worrying thing is that there isn't a soul on this forum who is surprised by both the performance and result. Thankfully Arbroath don't look like getting their act together so we should be safe from 9th place at least. We're just drifting as a club at the moment and the situation with Robbo is untenable. As much as I appreciate everything he's done you can't have your supposed Sporting Director commentating on other games while we're being hammered.

I hear what you're saying Yngwie but Dodds seems to be talking about bringing players into the cub in January. If we assume that these players are not playing for free then presumably we're accounting for salaries as part of this fruitless exercise. If we can afford to do that I would suggest that we can afford to keep paying Dodds' salary. I would imagine that there would be no instant pay-off as we'd surely just keep paying him until his contract expired at was the case with Richie Foran. The bottom line is he needs to go and we somehow need to find the money to change a catastrophically bad set up. I think most would agree that we certainly can't afford to let Dodds loose in another transfer window.

Supported ICT since 1994 : never felt so negative. Used to be a team, no matter which division they were in and who they were up against, that would go into a match and you felt they could make things happen and more often than not win. Sadly that has slowly gone and now completely disappeared. Get the current regime out and a new start please.

To me, it is completely unacceptable that our director of football is in Dingwall, as a pundit, when his employer is conducting his business the same night in Glasgow. Read the room, Mr Robertson, leave, and give Mr Dodds a lift wherever you go.

Sitting dreaming of the good old days. What a fantastic journey! We, like most other clubs of limited means, have seen ups and downs.....but many more ups than downs. What we are witnessing is sad and hard to bear but, over a quarter of a century, supporters of most clubs our size will never have experienced the highs we have. Bucharest seems a long way off......but we got there. Most supporters couldnt dream of that. This looks like a potentially terminal decline. We have been spoiled down the years. A lot seem to be voting with their feet and can hardly be blamed for that stance. We are not entitled to success on the field . I am thankful for the joy and many friends that supporting ICT has brought me. Can I take this opportunity to wish all those connected to the club a Happy Christmas and a better 2023. I paid my tenner last night to watch the Partick game and confess to switching off at half time. I said to my wife that I cannot believe its a friday night and my team is playing in Glasgow and Im not there.....didnt even consider it. I am however sure that everyone is trying their best.......its all anyone can do.......but it just aint good enough right now. We are not entitled to success. Our time may come again although this looks unlikely for the foreseeable future. My suggestion is ...ease the pain by remembering some of the good times. You will wake up with a smile on your face. Any match report simply has to focus on the 109 supporters who had to suffer this total embarrassment. Even if 10-20% left before the final whistle which in itself is a rarity and basically sums the whole night up. I did stay until the final whistle just to ensure that I had witnessed the worst ICT performance ever. I usually include comments on the tactics and the formation but I couldn’t suss out who was playing where and what their roles were. The main one to confuse me was Carson as he appeared to be just roaming around the midfield area and rarely where the play was taking place. Welsh meanwhile was the man looking for the ball to be played to him but usually lobbed the ball forward to Billy McKay surrounded by four defenders!! it may be cruel but Ridgers is the biggest miss of the lot. MacKay looks to have lost all his confidence and that evidently affects the defence in front of him. And add to that the system of holding a line is unknown as is pressing the ball. Who scouted Barrett who makes Djebi-Zadi look like Carlos Alberto. Duffy was unfortunate to get a red but probably looked at it as a blessing. Billy McKay tried but he simply looks fed up as does Dan. He intermittently held his hamstring and he must have been hoping that it will keep him out for a few weeks. And why were our players slipping so often and why was Oakley kept on the bench and why were ther more of a smattering of the kids who apparently did us proud at Hamilton. at least Dorran showed glimpses of his old self. I am going to stop as I could go on and on. It is absolutely obvious that Dodds has lost the dressing room and the support. Sure there are injuries but selection and tactics are non existent. We will survive but is that enough ? It may cost to get rid of Dodds and his supporters but a deal has to be done sooner than later as the support will surely dwindle. To me seeing fellow supporters and the social aspect is what will keep me going at the moment. At this time of year Dodds is Ebenezer Scrooge and we need a Jacob Maarley to haunt him as soon as possible OR we will all be stuffed. Merry Christmas to you all - well apart from ??

Competent is not a word I think you can use with our CEO. He talks the talk but since he came in what has really changed. I’d assume he’s on a decent wage but we have languished in the championship. With him Dodds and sadly Robbo who we all like it’s turned into an old boys club. There’s all sorts of stories about the new director being a front man etc Google is your friend here. and of course now there’s the debacle of the concert situation as well. We need wholesale changes but you would have to be a real fan with lots of money to give away to even think of putting it into our club at the moment. On top of that the football week in and out is rubbish to watch. Someone asked somewhere about next years season tickets. I’ll still buy one as will most of those who sit around me IBM? etc. Worrying times ahead and things need to change. We are slowly but steadily going downhill. Thank goodness for the Christmas break now and a few drams required before the Cove game methinks Merry Christmas for tomorrow and a good new year when it comes

I wasn't at last night's game,but tried to keep up with live score.Times are hard when you turn up for games and a draw is a good result.The majority of real fans are at the stage now where we are not that gutted when we get roasted because we kind of expect it now.We don't play or act as a team.Its not one for all and all for one highlighted last night by the SD going to comment for BBC at another game.The whole set up at Caley is tired. Look at the infrastructure,look at game days we cannot even make sure the towels are there in the toilets.Refreshments are limited and if you queue at half time chances are you miss five or 10 minutes of second half.If you cannot get the basics right off the pitch and your senior management don't even travel to watch the boys play at away games what chance have we and I think this apathy rubs off on the players .This kind of malaise.What we need is energetic driven,ambitious senior executives who would die in a ditch for the club.Finally I think Dodds lost the dressing room when he dropped Ridgers who was the one steady constant in the team.The one person who motivated and organised from the back.The player with real street cred. I was going to stop,but just want to repeat what I have said so many times.If your tactic on game day is to hoof the ball to the smallest player on the park,then we are going nowhere.Where are our wide men can we no play on the deck and pass the ball.

The posts made had zero relevance to the thread, and cross the line in terms of our site rules. It is clear they were meant as a personal dig towards a club official with no relevance to the discussion at hand. If the poster has a beef of a personal nature with that individual or any other individual at the club this is not the platform for that kind of inflammatory post. Debate the topic, not the person, and certainly not the child of a person who is not even a part of the topic up to that point. Raise controversial topics if you want - some of these have been interesting, thought provoking and worthy of discussion up to this point - but leave the personal stuff out of it. These have been our rules for 20+ years and will remain so. Consider this a clear yellow card on the personal stuff. Emotions are running high right now because we do seem to be challenged both on and off the field, but getting overly personal loses focus from the real discussion points that we need to focus on to right what appears to be a heavily listing ship right now.

Dudds interview!??!!?? All the blame on the players as usual, You have to take blame fuddudds, You set up the team, Tactics, And most of all you motivate them to do their best. Just f*uck off.

I haven’t even bothered reading the previous posts but I was at Firhill tonight and that was the MOST embarrassing performance EVER. I will do a report in the morning but let’s just say that it is clear that the present Management structure has lost the dressing room and the support- the only way to stop our club from dying is to berate the current management structure. Let’s pick a home game where we go up on force and put the message over

Even if Dodds was removed, I don't trust the powers that be to make the next managerial appointment! It would likely be another 'jobs for the boys' recruitment!

I have said it on here many times, that Dodds is one of the worst tacticians I have ever seen. He can't see when there's a problem in the game and try to fix it, he doesn't know how to set up a team, not to get beat, never mind winning, so I would guess that his motivational skills are not too good either. I think the dressing room has gone. If he can't believe what they are doing, that's a huge problem. The Cove and Arbroath games could shape our season, lose these and it's a three team fight to stay in this league If ICT were a computer, I'd say turn it off, and reboot the whole thing. It needs a complete overhaul, especially in the coaching department.

Yes the only remotely positive thing from that interview was the suggestion of new players coming in. But isn’t is the sporting director rather than Dodds who identifies and secures the targets? Time for Robbo to start proving his worth in that respect. As for how we can fund them - maybe there are players on their way out (Barrett was short term but might there be others?), maybe there are some cheap loan deals on the cards, maybe the new director has put some money in to make signings possible, maybe a combination of these? The line-ups we’ve had recently are not going to win many matches, regardless of who the manager is, so reinforcements would be welcome.

I keep seeing this line being pedalled. He has 5 or 6 months left on his contact. If we are so broke that this amount would bankrupt us, then we're heading into administration anyway. Let him join the queue with the rest of our creditors to get paid and it'll cost less in the long run. Fact is, he's still in a job because his mates are looking after him, and themselves, to the detriment of the club.

I can’t recall ever being so disappointed in ICT after witnessing that game last night. The team really were not set up to win, or even try. Such a poor showing, I think Ryan Esson did a much better job at Hamilton with the under 18s. The players seem, demotivated and Dodds must stop using injuries as his excuse - it’s his job to encourage, motivate, etc not berate them which he does regularly. Incidentally that thug Brian Graham showed his so called class with his gestures to the away fans. No wonder he’s disliked.

When Brewster’s second spell as manager was leading us towards relegation and most fans wanted him out, fans removed shoes and waved them in the air (accompanied by a chant) when we lost at Hamilton. I think other teams had done shoes off protests at the time, we didn’t invent it.

Cold winter night at Hamilton we decided to take our shoes off in protest of Craig Brewster. He was sacked soon after. But what I would give for these days again. Btw Brewster was manager

We have been truly awful to watch every season since we fell back into the Championship. It is only because of the low quality of other teams that we have not completely fallen away (although we are in great danger of doing that now). No shape, no leaders and no f***ing use. Total clear out at all levels needed.

Most Highland League teams are better run than we are.

I really feel sorry for anyone who travelled down to Glasgow tonight. Partick have battered us and looked like they are in a low gear. We’ve never looked like creating anything. It’s all too predictable. Are some players going through the motions, playing an easy pass but not doing the creative stuff they should be doing? Have Dodds and the backroom staff lost the players? The lack of news on injured players is a concern. How long are MacGregor, Allardice and Samuels to be out for? We were never told they had long term injuries (as far as I know). Where do we go from here? It’s hard to see anything for us this season based on the last couple of months. I’m not one to clamour for a Manager’s head but I really do think change is needed. Even when we were winning games we were unconvincing. This squad should be doing better than it is. Talk on another thread about being at risk of administration is a major concern. We were always well run financially, living in it close to our means. Things are wrong on and off the pitch. Time for the CEO to step up and outline the plans for the rest of this season and for next season.

5-1 is embarrassing, and now down to 10 men. Something is beyond wrong. It can’t all be blamed on injury and bad luck, surely it is managements job to manage and motivate ???? That’s what’s lacking

I'm done with this team until our WORST EVER MANAGER is gone because I DON'T ACCEPT this and nor should Mr Gardiner. Dudds HAS TO GO TONIGHT and get Esson in as caretaker for the rest of the season!

I got a ticking off recently for saying this is the worst ever ICT team. I standby that, with the addition of the worst ever manager/ coach or whatever he is!!

Warning bells all over this one!

It’s a strange position I find myself. Such is the (poor) performance of the team this season I questioned the capability of the manager to affect the performance positively. When it was clear improvement on the field was not going to happen I looked to the Board / CEO to see a route for improvement! They are in full possession on the financial position of the club, so I expect they consider this in any decision as to whether Dodds can change things (the way we all want). Billy Dodds is no monster and wanted to see ICT succeed for sure! It just transpired that he, like 98% of other ex footballers turn out to be unable to translate personal positivity into actual team performance to match the board and fan’s aspirations. Billy Dodds I suspect would have taken an exit card in the past (and right now) but has been asked by the CEO to help steer the club to safety (that is avoid being relegated), this season. BD is a proud man and will I expect agree to this recognising most want him gone! So closing - I will turn up in Jan and try to give my team ICT support! If anything the fans are the club and we stick through the hard times! BD will do his best and ultimately be replaced in due course. Let’s give him and the team our support through to safety from threat of relegation! all the best for the festive season! bc

He was briefly a director of Watford over 10 years ago after being involved in a takeover of the club. Is that what you are referring to?

I think it is very likely that the contractual compensation payable to Dodds if we sacked him would put us into administration. Anyone who says “I don’t care” isn’t thinking rationally, likewise anyone who thinks Dodds should just resign without the payoff he would be entitled to.
