  1. Good "team" performance today with everyone playing their part. 3 good goals and it should have been more bar the woodwork and a couple of poor passes from Billy in the second half. Encouraging performance played at pace at times and no little skill by the team.Shame so many fans have spat their dummy out and won't go to watch and support the team. So many posters on here saying they won't buy tickets, attend games while the board are still in place, Fergusons comments blah blah blah. Would you rather the club went bust. I think the fans have probably achieved as much as they can, scrapping Kelty move, chairman and CEO resigning so now is the time to get behind the team and give them your support by attending games. Fully expect a big pile on now from the usual suspects telling me I'm talking nonsense but don't worry, I won't be reading or responding to any replies and comments. All I'll say is be careful what you wish for.

  2. FT 3-0. Not sure any of us expected a comfortable win like that, but well done ICT, after last season’s misery it’s good to get a home win and a few goals too.

  3. Don't think there's anyone here who wants to see the team do badly.

  4. Many of them should not. They are complicit in everything bad going on around the club, either directly, or by their inaction and silence. Not one of them broke ranks and spoke publicly over the atrocious treatment of staff, players, fans, sponsors or shareholders over the last several years. If one of them had, then perhaps that person could or should be the one that fans could galvanise behind as we try to rebuild our club. 100% that is the way things will be spun, but we know the truth, as do those in power and any one of them that wants to blame shift should hang their heads in shame.

  5. Absolutely nothing to do with seaside league in my case. I actually welcome new grounds to tick off the list. Folk have to do what they need to do. If you want to attend games do so and I wish you enjoyment. However I will not be attending home games at present. Reason being the moral bankruptcy shown by the club in treating its past employees. I would ask one thing though that if you attend you respect those that won't. No need for having a go imho

  6. Great first half, I was pleasantly surprised with our tactics and overall play, well worth 3 up at half time. Should have gone back to the Innes at half time as 2nd half died the death, lots of subs some of which showed how thin and young our squad is. Some played like they belonged others will need plenty porridge if they want to compete in this obviously physical league. Oh, young Ferguson... jeez ! Canna jump canna run, hope once he learns to face towards the goal something might happen. Anyway a good win and it will surely boost the confidence.

  7. At present we are heading for relegation survival in league1 with the current squad would be a quite remarkable achievement. A torrid season ahead and the fans that are still going should go easy on the kids who will be turning week in week out remember it’s not their fault. Dougal

  8. It would also be useful if journalists did not chicken out from putting key questions to DF in press conferences. For instance, in the latest he said he did not know why there was a problem with fans coming through the gate to support the players. Surely the journalists could have explained the reason to help DF understand the problem? If the conference is then stopped because the questions about player treatment, for instance, are too uncomfortable for DF to answer, then the press would have a new story. DF can bat away questions about SG but surely it is legitimate for what seems to be our highest paid manager in 30 years to be given some tough questions with regard to his role?

  9. "So in short, I couldn’t care less. Disdain is good." That's what he thinks about folk who don't like him (fans included I assume). He's that narcissistic he'll carry on doing what's best for SG. Doesn't give a monkeys about ICT and the state he'll leave it in.

  10. It’s not about the level of money spent, although to suggest going to watch for free on the bridge is a bit pathetic to be honest. Everyone supports the club in their own way and it doesn’t make you any less of a supporter. I do find it hard to understand why you would choose not to go see your team just because of what is happening off the field though.

  12. Was impressed with the first half. Pick outs bray and strachan who put in a few dangerous balls from the left. Being super critical I thought we passed the ball a bit too much, making 3 passes to get the ball to a player when 1 would have sufficed. 3 good goals and a turn and shot in the box that came off the post high up. Rose were a very poor side. 2nd half we did absolutely nothing, reminiscent of last season when leading after half time we sat back and let them dictate the play. We made subs and a couple who came on looked like they were still in primary school, buts that’s me getting old. Billy was poor today not sure if it is early season or he is done. best part of the day was watching a game without hearing the vile bile shouted at the board, Gardiner. You could have heard a rustle of the werthers original paper being unwrapped.

  14. Positive performance based on some very good young players and some very calm experienced players. However, if players like Danny get injured we will struggle to say the least. However, no real complaints about today with DF using a new word and quite frequently - forward, forward. Given the fact Highland Council is currently rated the worst in Scotland for certain services, we can but hope that the planning appeal is successful. Part of the appeal states 'It should be noted that the Committee Report erroneously stated that the proposal comprised 54 storage units. The appellant seeks to ensure the Reporter is fully aware that the proposal comprises 13 only storage units.' On the assumption also that 'new owners' may be in waiting, there is the possibility of a little bit of optimism.

  15. This is a horrible situation we find ourselves in as fans. We don't want to be seen supporting the current board/SG but we are still supporters of the team. Personally I'm going to the game today after a lot thinking about it. It's a pity that a protest isn't happening before the game as I think that would show the feeling of the supporters rather than just not going to the game. I Worry that without a protest a low crowd will just be put down to fan apathy rather than a boycott. I also don't buy the argument that a protest would in any way jepordise the investment talks. Rather the opposite it would show the club has support and is worth saving.

  16. For me a protest would make more sense than a boycott. It’s what other teams’ fans almost always do when unhappy with their club. I thought it was an accepted principle in football that fans support the team through thick and thin, and regardless of any shambles off the pitch. Personally, I am currently willing to give the club the benefit of the doubt in that the signs are that they are trying to change, with new owners in the pipeline, Kelty reversed and the CEO having resigned. All things the supporters have wanted/demanded. I have also been uncomfortable with the Trust encouraging fans to starve the club of what it is in desperate need of, money. If everybody had followed their advice, we would not have a match today and we wouldn’t have a team any more. For a Supporters Trust to adopt this stance was an extreme and drastic measure that I’m sure wasn’t taken lightly, but was taken without consultation and without any adequate justification or regard for the inevitable consequences if everyone followed their recommendation. Because of this, I can’t currently bring myself to renew membership.

  17. As one of the journalists regularly attending press conferences at this and other clubs, I’ll become Devil’s Advocate and suggest that managers and players are there to answer questions about football. In Caley Thistle’s case, Duncan Ferguson is the only person from the club that has spoken to the media or to anyone else about anything at all over an period now of more than two months and he has already been asked questions that are beyond his remit. Over that two month period, I and other journalists have made attempts to obtain a club spokesman for comment and have also submitted questions on the club’s “status” through the official channels…. and they have been routinely ignored. There is a limit to what the manager can reasonably be expected to answer. You won’t find news journalists asking a Council’s Director of Education questions about the operation of the Social Work department.

  18. Because things are now so vile off the park that it's the only way I feel I can make my own small protest. It's no longer the club that I first followed. Its players, fans, and employees are now treated with utter contempt by those in charge. That said, I will certainly not discourage nor criticise anyone that does choose to attend home games.

  21. 'Off the field' aspects have sickened me also tbh. Never been so detached from ICT as I am now. The Board are pure chancers, charlatans, ego maniacs, narcissists etc. That coupled with DF's mind numbing anti football tactics means I will not waste my time going to see ICT for the foreseeable tbh.

  22. Clearly flippant comments are lost a bit online or to those who struggle to comprehend light hearted comments. Your inability to understand the link between what is going on 'off the field' and what we have ended up with on the field this season is, I suppose your own issue. Perhaps one day you'll be able to see the connection. Perhaps in hindsight if fans (myself included) were not so willing to just keep throwing money at the club year on year recently the board et al may have taken notice before things reached the awful stage it has. We have, 'off the field' thrown hundreds of thousands at an impotent CEO and incompetent managers. If you don't think that impacts the 'on the park' situation then I don't know what to say. I sincerely hope you enjoy the game though tomorrow regardless.

  23. This. The first home game of the season has now come and gone. 682 paid to attend compared to 1077 against the same team in the same competition this time last year. That's a drop of just under 37%. So what do these figures tell us? Probably not a lot. Had we not had all the appalling behaviour from the club management in the last season and had simply got relegated, the crowd would likely have been well down in any case. Remember, this time last year memories of giving Celtic a fright in the Scottish Cup final and getting close to promotion were still fresh. There was optimism for the new season rather than the disappointment of being in a league below. In addition ticket prices have risen. Like highlandexile, I too, after much thought, bought a ticket for the game and, as an OAP, was rather surprised to have to pay £14 - a 40% increase from last year. I wonder if this increase in prices put a few people off as well? How many people who would normally have come decided to stay away because of the current situation? We can't know for sure but it can't be more than a couple of hundred at most. In the total absence of any active protest, the club will spin the lower attendance as apathy and fans simply not supporting the club. It is clear that the threat of withholding money from the club has not produced the desired result of the departure of the CEO, indeed, it appears that he may be trying to engineer a permanent role again under new investors. That being the case, I'm not sure there is much point in continuing to withhold money. I certainly do not want to be contributing to the CEO's wages, but I do want to help ensure that the young lads starting out in the professional game and the hard working staff behind the scenes get paid. That's my personal view in the current situation but I fully appreciate that others see things differently.

  24. Scotty, I agree 100% with you. When I said "surely many will remain", I meant that I just can't see a complete clearout and replacement happening. Though I would indeed welcome that. If we survive, then a complete reset - new board, new management and new attitudes to players, fans and community - is desperately needed, even if it means some time in the lower leagues.

  28. This comment from Ferguson " if you don't want to be here don't come" swung my decision today not to attend with my daughter. I was going to pay game by game but this gaslighting approach towards fans they have ignored all close season I find unpalatable. No one understands the reality more than the fans. Ferguson couldn't even define owner of a football club as opposed to investor and we're supposed to hang off his every word. Noone expects him to be a financial guru but a modicum of research before he lets his belly rumble would go a long way to convince fans he ain't just winging it, which he clearly is. Like others I 100% agree Gardiner needs to be gone but Ferguson is part of the problem now not the solution. When his focus regarding the "new owner" is burning through cash he doesn't have nor in all likelihood will see before the transfer window ends ( I refuse to slam the window) Here's a thought .. if the club were properly engaged with the fans they could have requested anyone living within a drive by of Bonnyrigg to do a wee bit research for them at their pre sesson so they didn't go in "blind" Building a picture of their opponent needn't involve sitting in a stand with a club tie, pad & crayons looking all important. All the forward planning skills of Sunak on a wet day in London.

  29. That's a total rewrite of what played out. Fans were consulted at the meeting and the trust then went against the majority view that there should be a coordinated boycott. It was only more recently that the trust changed their stance on this. As I already said in another post they were going to organise/back a protest but that never transpired. This seemed to be offered as an alternative to supporting a boycott. Right now it does feel like the trust are no better than the club in promising one thing and doing another and that's not good. We both appear dissatisfied with them but for different reasons and that is telling in itself.

  30. I agree DD and I know your not having by a dig at me, more a plea for action on a collective basis of the fans (it will always only be them), to raise the level of objection (to the uncertainty of the way the club is being manipulated my certain individuals for there own end / greed), by protesting outside and during the game. 100% with you. For me this is where the Trust should be leading from. Apologies for raising this old chestnut of mine again, but if the trust cannot be proactive or can initiate radical action to the way the club is being manipulated if front of our eyes (when it is possibly in its strongest ever position), when can or would it?? Maybe we need our own Greta to emerge and gather fan support in the way you suggest. (I’m past it!!). Getting a demo would get onto the telly and papers for sure!! I would be one to follow such person/demo. I for one will not accept SG remaining in any form (direct or indirect) at the helms of the club.

  31. I will actively discourage anyone from attending home games as it is my view that in doing so it prolongs the status quo. Although I can't understand why anyone would want to do that I do respect their right to do so. I won't hate on them for that but I will be critical. I also understand there will be sections of the support such as those with kids who don't understand the implications of off field politics and won't want to deny them going to the football etc.

  32. The problem is that nobody really is shouting it from the rooftops. A boycott on its own will be spun by the club as fans simply not supporting the club and having lost interest now that we've dropped into league 1. If everybody who earlier said they would withhold their money, still came down to the stadium and loudly protested outside the ground for the duration of the match, then that would be positive action. If there were more fans outside the ground than inside, it would have a real impact and would be newsworthy. The club certainly couldn't turn round and say we had lost interest. We could also show our support for the young lads by singing chants for them as well as the anti Gardiner stuff. I'm sure that if that was to happen, many who have bought tickets would also stay outside and join in the protest. Of course we want Gardiner gone, but the young lads need and deserve our support too.

  33. At what point in time did we start measuring a persons level of support based on the amount of money they give to the club? Are those under 20 or over 65 lesser supporters because they get cheaper tickets? Are under 12s in the north stand non supporters because they get free entry?

  36. Really good performance in the first half. Good, slick passing and looking to get behind their defence 3 well worked and well taken goals with 2 other excellent efforts. Indeed it was the most entertaining half of football I've seen since Ferguson arrived. 2nd half was not so good. Looked as though we set out to keep things tight and not allow Rose back in - which we did well enough but at the expense of ambition at the other end. Lots of subs from both sides resulted in a lot of passing the ball in the middle of the park before giving the ball away followed by Rose passing the ball in the middle of the park before giving it back to us. The starting XI all did well which is encouraging, but clearly we have a very limited and inexperienced squad. Bonnyrigg were awful though. Bigger tests lie ahead. If money for the squad is not forthcoming we will be hard pressed to survive in league 1.

Its not always about money and Mark has been forced jnto doing whats best for him and his family at this point in his career. Another masterstroke from the current regime that allowed this to happen to a decent guy and great servant to the club, treate shabbily, like many more this season.

  43. That is why I said 'Player treatment.' One of the reasons supporters have negative support for DF is his apparent lack of remorse for the treatment of all players out of contract. Was he responsible for advising them that their contracts would not be renewed?

  46. When he says, "I don’t know what the problem is, to be honest", he's not being honest at all. Unless of course, he's so oblivious to the views of the supporters of the team he's supposed to be managing, that it just hasn't registered. Or maybe he just hasn't deigned to find out. A clear disconnect.

  47. Cry, laugh, do whatever the sod you want. But you have your opinion, and you have mine, but when I (among others) have punted hundreds into the club to be treated like a mound of dugshite on a hot summers day by Gardiner and Co. there shouldn't be any issue when people take up against it

  48. Trouble is for me the press are too often (for right or wrong) see as being the lapdog and mouthpiece of the club spouting what they only want to be ‘spun’ and avoid probing questions. More ‘excuses’ (“we’re limited what we can report”) just feed this view for many!!
