  1. Written and recorded by yours truly and my band Tale of two cities. This song is the result of a bet I lost after we beat Celtic. I promised I would deliver a cup final song if we made it to the final. Released an acoustic demo and it received such acclaim that I felt it was only right to put together a finished version. It may not be everyones cup of tea, but I wrote it myself. Very easy to write about something you either know a lot about or care a lot about and in my case it fits both those categories. All of my band are ICT fans and the song was also produced by ICT fans too...basically its for the fans.

  2. What more do we need to say !! Well done to 'RedCard' for coming up with the idea and to those involved in putting the video together. Brought a tear to me eye ..... Personally I am gutted I cannot make it on Saturday but I will be with everyone all the way and through every single kick of the ball. Its not live on TV here but I have leveraged my IT knowledge and a few favours so I can watch it on my own big screen, or perhaps with a group of friends at a bar with even more humongous screens (if it works out). Wherever you are travelling from I wish you a safe journey there and back and hopefully we are all still smiling come 4:45 pm ! This week is going to fly by .......

  3. 4 days to go! Congratulations ICT for reaching your first ever Scottish Cup Final. No matter the result it will be a great day out for all concerned and we will hold ICT in a special place in our history. Of course we hope we win but we will not grudge being beaten if thats the case by the third best team in Scottish football. Good Luck and may the best team on the day win !!!! >>>

  4. As the Unionists constantly stated during the referendum campaign the UK is a family of nations. England is, by a margin the largest of the nations which is why a federal structure in the normal sense will almost certainly not work. There may be away to save the Union but that way is, without doubt, not the largest nation dictating to the smaller ones through sheer weight of numbers. Those days have passed and the political landscape has changed for good. To ignore that fact and to continue with 'business as usual will only result in one outcome albeit one we Nationalists would welcome and embrace. I actually suspect that each nation of the UK will vote to remain in the EU so it may well be a non issue but if England moves to move house and build another on very different foundations they cannot expect to drag Scotland with them against it's will should Scotland vote to stay put. Perhaps, before suggesting that Scotland should be treated as a mere region in much the same manner as Kent or Yorkshire you should familiarise yourself with the Terms of The Treaty of Union. The ancient nation of Scotland did not cede sovereignty but entered a bilateral contract to share it.

  5. Just wondering what everyone is planning on wearing to the Cup Final. The reason I ask is, well, you know how embarrassing it can be - you turn up for an event and somebody else is wearing the same outfit. I'm planning on wearing jeans and an ICT top, accompanied by an ICT scarf. So if everyone else could avoid copying, that would be great, thanks.

  8. Not only has AJS 'penned' a song for ICT's final - he's only gone and won the prediction competition!!! He had the most correct 'finishing positions' from the pre-season predictions, with 6! A few others got 5, but nobody beat AJS! 1. Celtic 2. Aberdeen 3. 4. 5. 6. Dundee 7. 8. Partick Thistle 9. Ross County 10. Kilmarnock 11. 12.

  12. Strange how the nationalists tolerate subdividing down only to the unit they are obsessed about, which they attempt to justify through some fudged and bogus half-claim that it's effectively the nation state they would like it to be but which it isn't - as confirmed by the Scottish electorate last September. This really does once again show us the complete mess which is nationalist thinking in this neck of the woods (others too, but let's keep this straightforward). Because this is what we get from them - * They want their own personally selected fragment of the British population to be able to veto the will of the majority on an issue where the relevant constitutional entity is Britain and only Britain - an institution of which the Scottish electorate confirmed its will to remain part as recently as seven months ago. One also suspects that enthusiasm for Europe is only the secondary reason here - well behind that SNP staple of creating further dissent, discontent and division. * But at the same time they seem to object to the same principle applying to any subsequent Scottish referendum. * They have been screaming for more post-referendum powers to be devolved to Scotland since September 19th (I think our irate OCD chum on the road through Dingwall now has "day #250" up on his/her front window. ) * It therefore appears that the SNP is desperate for as much power as possible to be exercised as locally as possible. * But at the same time they are content to hand a huge number of powers over to the EU. * And in the other direction they have taken a huge number of powers, such as control over fire and rescue and policing and ability of councils to set Council Tax, away from local areas and focused them on Holyrood. Now there's consistency for you! You know, an interesting analogy with the Act of Union resides right on our front doors here in Inverness. * In 1707 a small, failed state joined forces with a rather larger not, by modern standards, especially successful one and within decades the product was well on its way top becoming a major power. * In 1994 a small struggling football club joined forces with a rather larger and not, by modern standards, especially successful one and within decades the product is in the Scottish Cup Final and Europe. So I suppose that makes the SNP the sort of equivalent of the Jaggie Refuseniks!

  13. Plus 2 buses hired by Dalgetty bay Jaggie. More buses coming from Moray and all the private ones. Of course but Kingsmill was asking about the official supporters ones. Indeed he was.

  19. your 'reliable source' ain't very reliable, Falkirk have been promoting the final all day everyday on social media for the last few weeks. we have flags up in the high street, billboards all over Falkirk district, scarf round the steeple, all the buses sporting messages, grass outside the stadium with 'COYB' cut into it, much bigger buzz round town for this final than the 2009 one. There is also 100+ buses going from Falkirk, 18000 tickets sold and counting. Anyway, good luck and may the best team win, #COYB And, in contrast to us, Falkirk are generating extra interest and excitement by releasing details of tickets sold on a regular basis which, without doubt, will have added to their total. Falkirk releasing details of tickets sold has been a real positive, its got everyone commenting on it That's good and I suspect we will have learned the lesson and do the same for both our finals next season UEFA CL and...?

  23. Been in South America this last year, been to quite a few games and its quite a different match day experience. Anyway was thinking of songs which could easily been transferred to ICT. Alot of the songs are love songs for the clubs which are 3-4 mins long. The only short chant type one was this - follow the link Hope that link works. Basically the rough translation into English would be Ole ole ole, ole ole ole ola ole ole ole, every season i love you more Ohhh Caley Thistle Its a feeling I can not stop repeat over and over Im happy to repeat it over and over at hampden on my own but it would be nice if other joined me PS - love the 'scenes of red and blue'

  25. That's very interesting. I've been a Villa fan since my childhood and certainly hadn't clocked this strange coincidence. But here's another one. Villa finished 17th in the EPL this year. Falkirk were 5th in the Scottish Championship and therefore also 17th in the league structure. In their respective finals, both are playing the team that came 3rd in the league

  26. It true, Falkirk FC are indelibly woven into the fabric of ICT's history. If Inverness win, the Bairns will have been the opposition on both occasions of my highest and lowest moments following ICT! Not sure if it's been mentioned on the forum, the quirky cup winning link they have with Aston Villa. I'm not big on 'omens' in football, but it's quite a coincidence. Falkirk last won the Cup in 1957. Aston Villa last won the FA Cup in 1957. Falkirk's only other Scottish Cup win was way back in 1913.....the same year that Villa won the FA Cup. And here they are in the Cup finals in the same year....(but I think they'll both lose)!!

  28. As I've said before...if the SFA don't get a grip on incidents which would automatically be deemed assault if they happened anywhere else, then that's exactly what's going to start happening with players/clubs looking to the police to sort these things out instead of the CO.

  32. It has to do with the one of the most disgraceful acts and most scandalous and sustained attempts at a cover up and scapegoating of the victims by agents of the state since the war and, I don't know about you but as a football fan and citizen of that state, it has to do with me.

  34. I agree with the first bit of this and to me that is the most important thing. As long as we play with a high tempo and look to get forward quickly it doesn't really matter which two of Doran, Christie, Williams Ross and Vincent we have starting as we should be too good for Falkirk. But personally I think we should start with Christie as his outstanding performance against Celtic showed what he is capable of on the big stage. He also showed he can keep it up for 120 minutes so I would start with him and look to run their defence ragged from the word go. I would start with Williams with a view to bringing Doran on around the hour mark.

  35. Keeper and back four pick themselves (Esson, Raven, Meekings, Devine, Shinnie), as do Draper and Tansey in front of them and Ofere up front. Watkins will surely start too, but the question is if he will play up front in a 4-4-2 or wide in a 4-2-3-1. Seems to me that Christie, Williams, Ross, Doran and Vincent are fighting over the other two spots. Hard to leave Christie out, I think; I wouldn't be surprised if Falkirk sit back and try to soak up pressure, so we'll need him to unlock their defence. You could use that as a reason to pick Ross and Doran as well, but I reckon Williams will get the nod, as he will tuck in from the left to allow Shinnie to rampage, and cover him if necessary. So, for me, it's Esson - Raven, Meekings, Devine, Shinnie - Draper, Tansey - Watkins, Christie, Williams - Ofere. Subs: Mackay, Tremarco, Doran, Kink, Polworth, Ross, Vincent

  36. This argument reminds me of these competitions in primary school latrines where people clamoured to see who had *****d furthest up a wall. I didn't bother then, certainly don't now. We'll have loads of people there shouting us on and if they have a good day that's literally all that matters. Crowd figures? whatever.

  38. A dream/nightmare I've had several times over the years is that I'm drafted in to play as a striker for ICT at TCS. But the game just seems to take place around me, as if I'm not there. I can't keep up with play and don't get anywhere near the ball, despite trying my best. I'd imagine this is what it was like to be Andrew Barrowman.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
