I hear there is going to be an announcement next week. Does anybody have idea what it's to do with?

So there has been an announcement, announcing there will be an upcoming announcement. This is announceception (it's gonna be something cringy about Lionel Nessi, isn't it).

We'll be rebranded as the 'Highland Haggis'' or the 'Loch Ness Monsters'?

Stadium to be renamed the Dream Ring Arena?

Administration to be announced to avoid points deduction next season?

The Board did meet at the stadium earlier today I believe. Plenty cars in the car park apparently.

I've always fallen on the happy clapper side of things but I feel we're an absolute shambles for numerous reasons going back some years and it's seriously bad times ahead.

From last August....

The Board of Directors of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club undertook some weeks ago to adopt a more open policy of communication with our staff, shareholders and supporters. We understand that sharing of some changes and updates has not been effective and we take full responsibility for this shortfall; this remains a key objective as the Club moves forward.  It is clear the lack of regular information updates from the Board continues to fuel speculation and concern amongst some of our supporters and the media.

Probably going to announce that the discount for ST holders for 2018-19 will not be valid due to the ineptitude of the board and poor early management and recruitment meaning we haven't returned to the Premiership. In addition  prices will increase to cover the substantial losses and expected drop in foot fall so it's necessary to exploit the loyal fans to try limit the deficit.

Or may be something else more positive.....

When there is good news it seems to come out of the blue.  When there is bad news it seems that a little rumour about an announcement is let slip so that we can have some time to come up with rather unpleasant scenarios about what it will be.  Then when the bad news does break we all slightly relieved that it isn't as bad as it might have been.  Whatever is announced I think a consequence will be a seriously reduced playing budget for next year.

Just to make that sound not as bad as it might have been, I'll also suggest that we are set to merge with Clach and apply to join the Highland League.

Very harsh and not accurate, in my opinion anyway. We hardly had a board to start with at the beginning of the season, late managerial appointment left little time to get squad in place. Most of the recruitment, given the time constraints, has been okay and no football manager will get it correct 100% of the time. An increase in season ticket prices, as long as not excessive, cannot surely be seen as a negative or exploiting fans if it keeps the club solvent and helps recruit players.

Obviously not everything in the garden is rosy at the moment but the constant negativity, dare I say cynicism of some of your posts doesn't help.

Cue happy clapper insults.

The cars in the car park would be for the  'car boot sale'

Things are so bad the chairman is selling in the car boot sale?

Not sure the board are carbooter type folk...???

We really do need a very big "this is sarcasm" emoji for some people's benefit.

A while back the chairman released a statement about the plans for the club's 25th anniversary.  One of the things he highlighted how this was a great chance to 're-launch' the club.  What did he mean by that?

I have heard on the grapevine that we're ramping up the Nessie stuff next season.  I don't expect the club colours or name to change, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Surgeon's Photo is used as our new badge.

If there is something significant to say then, for goodness sake, whether it's good or bad, just say it.

This speculation simply fuels unrest and unsettles everyone from the dressing room to the stands. If there is nothing of significance to be said them please day that too and quell these rumours.

One way or another, this needs to be brought to a head.

Hypothetically speaking....

If the club was facing administration (and it would come as absolutely no surprise to me), then it would need to be actioned before next Saturday for the club to take the 15 point hit this season (and 5 next season).  If it were to happen in the close season, then the penalty would leave us starting the next campaign 15 points down (5 points the season after that).

:lol::whistle:  :stir:

I’m sure that the announcement will be the conclusion in the investigation into the Twitter account favouriting porn accounts. That or the first round of the Duncan Shearer Memorial Under 11s Seven A Side Tournament.

No surprise to me either!

We would be back to 8th with a 15 point penalty. Which in otself would be the least of our worries.

Well said !

It all seems very childish, thumbing of noses and saying "I know something you don't know :nanananana:"

Great idea to go into administration with a 15 point deduction when we still have a possibility of getting into the play offs and promotion:drinking06:

.... or has somebody's uncle's pal bumped into Gordy Fyfe in the golf club car park again?

Look, I'm not saying this is not going to happen, but what we have here is a completely unsubstantiated statement, offering absolutely no evidence as to whether there's going to be "an announcement" nor, if there is going to be one, what the nature of it is. The club going into liquidation? An offer to "invest" £5 million? Or a 10p reduction in the price of stadium pies?

But yet, on the strength of what's therefore no better than blind conjecture, speculation is instant in areas including that administration is imminent - right down to a detailed examination of its points implications. I'm not ruling anything in or out. I'm just questioning the wisdom of going too deeply into the implications of something for which there is no evidence.

And I see that the board are getting it in the neck from one or two quarters. Goodness me. After what's been said about Tulochs etc, it seems that for some, simply NOBODY is good enough to give their own money to bail out Caley Thistle's fundamentally loss making position and hence to subsidise the cost of season tickets.......

The only thing Gordy had to tell my uncle this week was that the club are looking to appoint a new president.

Well it will be like the announcement at the end of last season, too late to save things again. If it's the big A word then it will confirm what I said more than a year ago and that the slide into that situation was allowed to happen by the previous Board because our lofty ambitions in the Premier League could not be sustained.

Would that be previous board members who have given the current board £300k...that we know of...this season? Why would they do that if the plan was to run things down?
