  1. Don't know about others but I was very disappointed with Kenny Cameron's statement. To me there seemed to be a clear message that whilst the strong feeling of supporters was acknowledged, this was to be first and foremost a business decision on what the Board consider best for the club and Scottish football. It sounds as though the Board has been listening too much to Green who has asked Boards to make a business decision when they vote on July 4th. Let's be clear. This is not about business. Business is about making money and giving shareholders a return on their investment. Since when have any shareholders in ICT ever expected a return on their investment? Shareholders in ICT have put money into the club to help bring a standard of football to Inverness that they and the rest of the paying public want to see. Our return on investment is entertainment and hopefully success on the park. There will be no entertainment if ICT play Rangers newco because nobody will be there to watch the game. It may be that the Board is persuaded that an SPL without Rangers will not be in the best financial interests of the club, but so what? If that is the case then it will be the responsibility of the Board to cut expenditure to match any loss in revenue. That is a small price to pay to behave in a principled way by saying "no" to a newco that has absolutely no right to a place in the SPL. I was also very disappointed to hear that there had been a full and frank exchange of views in discussions between the club and the Supporters' Trust. That suggests that there were clearly differing views. But why were there discussions in the first place? There is nothing to discuss. Rangers newco is a club that has never played a game of football in its existance. It must start at the bottom like we and everybody else did. We expect the club to vote "no" and we expect the club to make an official statement to that effect in the near future.

  2. I will be extremely disappointed if we vote yes. Business decisions be damned, it's about time some integrity was put back in the game.

  3. Is it only me, but I am sick and tired of the whole Hayes "where will he go " saga. I just wish he would make his mind up and feck off, wherever its to, if he doesn't want to stay with us.

  4. The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American history. Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death'?" She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Little Hodaiki a bright foreign exchange student from Japan, who had his hand up: 'Patrick Henry, 1775', he said. 'Very good!' Who said, 'Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?' Again, no response except from Little Hodaiki: 'Abraham Lincoln, 1863'. 'Excellent!' said the teacher continuing, 'let's try one a bit more difficult...' Who said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country?' Once again, Hodaiki's was the only hand in the air and he said: 'John F. Kennedy, 1961'. The teacher snapped at the class, 'Class, you should be ashamed of yourselves, Little Hodaiki isn't from this country and he knows more about our history than you do.' She heard a loud whisper: 'F . . k the Japs,' 'Who said that? I want to know right now!' she angrily demanded. Little Hodaiki put his hand up, 'General MacArthur, 1945.' At that point, a student in the back said, 'I'm gonna puke.' The teacher glared around and asks, 'All right! Now who said that!?' Again, Little Hodaiki said, 'George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.' Now furious, another student yelled, 'Oh yeah? Suck this!' Little Hodaiki jumped out of his chair waving his hand and shouted to the teacher, 'Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!' Now with almost mob hysteria someone said, 'You little ****. If you say anything else, I'll kill you.' Little Hodaiki frantically yelled at the top of his voice, "Michael Jackson to the child witness testifying against him, 2004.' The teacher fainted. As the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, 'that`s it, we're fecked!' Little Hodaiki said quietly, ‘Ally McCoist, 2012.

  6. Had it been any other club in the SPL outwith Celtic there would not even be a discussion they would be relegated and therfore for the integrity of Scottish Football Rangers must be relegated. This situation now lends itself to be a platform for change in Scottish Football with re structuring of the leagues and a fairer distribution of the cash

  7. Just wanted to make a point about the meeting between the Club Chairman and the Supporters Trust. It was not a meeting where we had the Supporters Trust on one side arguing for a "No" vote and Kenny Cameron on the other arguing for a "Yes" vote. It was one where we took all the information available and discussed how it fitted in to the overall picture and what the potential effects were of that within various scenarios. I can assure you that we are definitely not in an "us and them" situation. It is also not an argument pitting finances against sporting integrity, it's an argument about being in a situation whereby ICT (and others) can survive and give fans a club to support....get that wrong and nothing else matters. It's an impossible situation, but we also need to remember it is not a situation of our making. The blueprint for this disaster was put in place when the SPL was formed and so much power and influence was placed in the hands of just two clubs. I think I am right in saying that ICT and C*unty aside, all the other current SPL teams are founder members....take from that what you will, but when it comes to being pissed off and angry about this whole sorry mess then it is not ICT who deserve to carry the burden or the blame, yet here we are and we need to be careful of what we wish for.

  9. I have a reputation to maintain - one man's pish is another man's entertainment - I would have thought that this was a fairly believable rumour and how did MM know that the wages were out of our league if they didn't even make an enquiry - and note that the name of IAN BLACK was not actually included !! It must be a bit like baiting Canadians but it is better feckin reading than the incessant crap about Rangers.

  11. Disagreeing here boys. There's six weeks until the start of the season and there is no way that Pariah FC will be ready by then. I reckon suspended from all competition for a year while league reorganisation and funding rationalisation takes place. Where they go depends upon what further skeletons rattle their way out of the cupboard - and there is the potential for some feckin huuuuuge ones, never mind what Charlie Greens or Strathclyde Polis's next move might be. £124 219 412.37 in debt, of which 94 426 217.22 is due to the nice tax man? There are questions in there that are going to take a lot longer than 6 weeks to answer. Oh aye and the SFA have still got to give a new, approved punishment? Take a year out please chaps, and get your sh*t together.

  12. Going by papers and radio, its more likely to be a halfway house result. Servco admitted to SPL, then to appease fans, a demotion to 1st Div. Coincidentaly, asuming Servco get promoted, the new SKY deal would be due then. Not very satisfactory IMO. The SPL must think fans are stupid if they think we can't see through it. Its all but giving in to Servco. No vote should mean, No compromise, No more chances, No easy way back, No Newco in SPL, Div 1, Div2

  17. Off topic but from the same article Alex Posted in this thread: The defender (Gillet) , who is thought to be attracting interest from England, is currently in France and despite several attempts Inverness have not been able to contact him. Considering the May 31st deadline has passed, I think that when they do get in touch with him they should tell him to GTF. Stuart Duff all over again.

  19. I disagree this is not about business, the Directors of the club aslo have a duty to ensure financial stabilty for the fans and shareholders. If given the choice no ICT or no Newco would you vote against the newco and punish ICT who have done nothing wrong? I welcome Mr Cameron meeting with the supporters trust, I wonder if it would be possible for the club to give the fans a breakdown of what impact losing the Newco would be to ICT, perhaps fans would understand the sitaution more then. When talking about sporting integrity ICT have done nothing wrong, the SPL is flawed and Rangers cheated, my interest is that ICT survive and hopefully Scottish football with have learned a lesson from this whole sorry mess.

  22. These statements are always open to interpretation and reading between the lines. On this occasion you have come to the wrong conclusions. As Don has clarified the meeting was not a yes v no meeting, it was a discussion about both scenarios. It was a worthwhile meeting and I for one am very pleased that Kenny took the time to meet with us at such length. Right now he is busy working with Terry to put a team on the park and get us ready for the season ahead. The extra man hours this Rangers situation has caused him is incredible, but he still to the time to speak to us as he felt it was important to do so.

  24. A cynic (not like me) could suggest that by these clubs going out and publicly stating a 'No' vote then that will help season ticket sales which by admission are down. Now if over the next 10 days these clubs begin to sell more season tickets - whats to say that come 4th July there may not be extenuating cases as to why the Newco should be admitted meaning these clubs vote 'yes' and already have the fans cash in the bank. Of course that wont happen as the Scottish game holds integrity in high regard. When the vote process is complete and the SPL committee announce the result - will us (the fans) get visibility of how each club has voted or will it be a secret process with only the numerical results presented (10-2, 9-3 etc)?

  29. All that Jonny has done is protect his tweets, meaning that only certain people can see them. Whilst I enjoy twitter for banter and up to the minute breaking news I do not think its a good way for footballers to announce where they may or may not be moving, little bit unprofessional if you ask me. Looks like we may have to wait for a club to announce (again) where he will be signing

  31. So presumably if Kilmarnock win a place in Europe they will pass it over because the travelling will be a bit too much for them?

  32. This is really nothing new. People from south of the Highland faultline are quite accustomed to "gnash their gooms and weep and wail" (to quote a certain poet from quite near Mr Shiels' current stamping ground) about having to travel outwith the classic circle of 40 miles radius, centred on the mid point between Edinburgh and Glasgow. This was one of the main secondary sources of delight for me when it became apparent that Ross County were going to join ICT in the SPL - it would wind up these people up even more that there were now TWO clubs in the Highlands that would have to be visited! A certain national broadsheet - which has a long, long pedigree for moaning about this, going back to the days when Partick Thistle fans got distraught about having to abandon their Byres Road bistros to make several First Division trips to the Highlands - was at it again this week. It was the same Kenny Shiels story as appeared elsewhere, which presumably went out to all the nationals via a press conference or maybe a freelance, but with the added dimension that - horror of absolute horrors!!! - CELTIC also had to travel north TWICE and on CONSECUTIVE WEEKS.... amid trying to qualify for the Champions' League! Terry Butcher is very good at rubbishing this kind of pathetic Central Scottish parochialism (which, incidentally, you will be voting to allow to dominate the Highlands totally if you vote "yes" in the Salmorendum in 2014 ). Butcher's answer is that in England the likes of Northumberland and Cornwall are all part of the same league set up, so journeys of several hours are commonplace, so what are the Central Belt teams moaning about? Similarly a few weeks ago I phoned Craig Brewster to congratulate him on Crawley Town's promotion, gained after an away win at Accrington. I caught him in the middle of of a very long journey back down the road from Lancashire to West Sussex. This kind of nonsensical complaining is a very Scottish thing where over 80% of the population live in this wee kailyard and have great difficulty seeing beyond its geographically limited confines. As a result the rest of Scotland, including the Highlands, suffers. Remember Jack Steedman of Clydebank FC who, successfully for a time, fought tooth and nail for years to keep Highland teams out of national league football. Maybe now is the time for the A9 to be renamed Jack Steedman Street!
