  1. We are joint top of the league, for the next 24 hours, with 25 points and having scored 31 goals. We have never been in such a position in our history of SPL. We need you to get your butts of your couch and get out there and support us. This club has done wonders since its inception. Put your petty differences aside and support the 'Pride of the Highlands'.

  2. Keep our feet on the ground, the only thing that can spoil us is over expectation. Right now, enjoy the reality...almost half the season gone and were joint top - a season to remember already! Sign them up.

  3. I think it's entirely possible that Mckay is the best striker in the world right now.

  5. I think one of the most pleasing things is that this was one of these games that we could easily have lost, and probably would have last season. Especially when we lost a goal in injury time at the interval, and then another one soon after. But we have a bit more grit about us these days and seem more able to grind out a result when we do manage to get ahead late in the game. Only the Hearts game at home in recent weeks gives the lie to this, and that was only because of an extremely soft penalty. Long may it continue.

  6. Have we not forgotten our home form - that is still bottom six standard. To me Celtic simply are going to win the league and when they go out of the champions league they will start picking up more and more points. Our aim simply now has to be top six and a cup final (win or lose). We have also been very fortunate overall in respect of injuries and suspensions and our current squad will not contain the losses similar to what we suffered last season and what Aberdire are facing at the moment. But if we need to fantasise then we have the potential to come second or third and a place in Europe would be an utter bonus. But then again if we do end up in those heady heights - who are we going to lose in the transfer window ? As my old mucker Henry David Thoreau once whispered to me in a Pigalle bar (it was in French but I will translate) : "Johndo, You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.” And then Doris Day supped her pastiche and crooned "Que Sera, Sera, Whatever will be, will be,The future's not ours, to see, Que Sera, Sera What will be, will be."

  8. Where to start with that!? Horrible first half. Both teams were utterly garbage. I don't think there was much to moan about with regards to our goal. Looked like Foran won the ball fairly and we were still inside our own half when we started to break towards the Aberdeen goal. Smashing ball in by Doran and tucked away by Mckay. We shot ourselves in the foot just before half time when slack play between Raven and Doran gifted a throw in to Aberdeen and we didn't defend it properly thereafter. Hayes eventually scuttled goalwards and fired the ball across the goal where Magennis smashed the ball into the goal. Second half started with Aberdeen on top and Magennis scored a fantastic second goal. With his back to goal he took a pass from midfield and turned it round the ICT defender (Warren I think) and spun him before racing in on goal. I expected him to miss to be honest but he dinked it over Regeuro to put Aberdeen ahead. After this Aberdeen were on top although I didn't feel they created really good chances despite pinning us back. Warren got our equaliser from a corner and suddenly ICT went back on top. We were hitting Aberdeen on the counter and Shinnie, Foran, Doran and Mckay were causing all sorts of problems for Aberdeen. We should have scored at least one goal before Mckay grabbed the third. I've no idea what happened. I just saw the ball trundle goal wards and celebrated the result. Thanks go to Craig Brown who decided not to play with a midfield for most of the second half which allowed us to gain a foothold on the game again. Plenty of talking points from this game. Can't wait to see the highlights!

  9. The second half was more entertaining though, and bbc commentary was listenable. Great result tonight to add to last Saturdays win, let's see out the week at Dingwall and that would be a good week all round.

  10. I'm a South London fan of Caley (my other team is Crystal Palace)...a great win tonight, to follow up on the weekend...Caley stand a good chance, they look to have a good balance this year with plenty of fight (just Like Palace) ... have targetted the Ross County match in March for my first home game (flights /hotel booked already) so be nice to see ICT inch towards the crown when I come up

  11. Absolutely buzzing! Well done guys, well deserved! Dont know who it is, whether its Butcher or whoever else, but these boys are obviously still grounded. They know they have achieved nothing until the fat lady sings. It could have went so pear shaped after Saturdays great result, but they obviously know it would have meant nothing had they lost tonight. And they didnt, so well done!!

  13. So, ICT are joint top of the SPL and the highest scorers in Scottish football, as well as scoring in every game this season. So, can we do it? Can we keep it together? Can ICT win the league? If Montpellier can do it, with limited funds in the French league, it can be done.

  14. The boy deserves a thread of his own. I slated him non stop last season. Went as far to say that he wasnt worthy of such a lengthy contract but he has been immense these last few games, capped off a fine run of form by getting into double figures and imo has really proved his worth...well done Billy, keep it up.

  15. That was a great night. Both teams pretty much keech for most of the first half...Aberdeen even more than us....then the second half! Think we should take 25 minute half times from now on. For the first 10 mins Aberdeen were all over us like a cheap suit then erse kick time and we were away.. We could and should have won by two or even three, the chances we had, but who cares. Totally brilliant. The reaction of TB at the end was fantastic. Directing the fans then indicating being top of the league and fist to the badge, shows what it really meant to him. Epic. Bring on the County!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Too many. Surely we can sell out our allocation. Earlier in the season we blamed the team performances, well we can't use that excuse any more.

  23. Pretty much agree with RiG in post #91 Not the greatest of first halves and I thought Aberdeen (marginally) deserved their 2-1 lead at the start of the second. Draper, for me, made the difference. We started to create more from the midfield when he came on for Roberts [who i thought seemed a little out of the game and at times rather un-interested]. It seemed the game plan was to soak up some early pressure and then hit them on the break. This worked very very well, and it scares me to think how much better we could be if Doran and Raven were able to complete their passes down the right. We could have had another 2 or 3 goals in quick succession when it was pegged back to 2-2 and overall we definately deserved the three points. Well done lads. Now get yourselves a glass and join us in a drink to toast to a great season so far.

  24. I was so happy to experience the team at first hand this evening - and it was some team!! On the park the only disappointment was Roberts but his replacement made a big difference when the change happened. Off the park the support was to die for!!! I was so proud to be part of this super crowd and every one of them played their part. Our Leader milked us at the end, in a way no other manager could, with his conducting our cheering as the players made their way off the park, they having also applauded us. A night to really remember!! I would hope that this puts the 'antis' to bed for a wee while but possible it will only be until 4.50 on Saturday when the last two results and of course our ten match run will again be forgotten.

  27. Celtic will win the league by as many points as they want to. Forget the title. Top 6 will be difficult enough to achieve!

  28. nordjaesland did it in denmark. in all honest though. i dont think our squads big enough to keep this up, maybe if the board decide, right lets go for this in the summer, and inject some cash we can keep up. but id much rather keep the books balanced and settle for a top 6 finish.

  30. with Celtic not firing on all cylinders domestically and no Rangers to keep pushing them, then this year, and presumably the next couple are the best chance any team will have to break the stranglehold those two teams have had on the silverware for decades. Can we do it ? YES we can .... (a good slogan for someone that would be ) Will we do it ? I would love to see that happen, but we are less than half way through the season and who knows what might happen in terms of injuries or loss of form ... on current form there is absolutely no reason why not, we just have to take every game as it comes and maintain it ! If these players could do that, then that conversation about legends in another thread would apply to them all !!!!!!

  31. 2nd in the league and yet we still have the worst defensive record. It's becoming like the Pele days all over again!

  33. Steven Thompson probably is looking for a change to the SPL. Brainstorming for 12 months plus, and what does his SPL board come up with, Lets change from a boring league of 12, and make it two leagues of twelve, hmmm, top 8 play each other home and away, and then home and away. Cant hold back my excitement any longer, ooops Ive burst

  37. Jim Calder, Russell Duncan, Grant Munro, Barry Wilson, Charlie Christie, Iain Stewart, Dennis Wyness, Ross Tokely, Richie Foran, Stuart Golabek, Adam Rooney, Ian Black, Bobby Mann, Barry Robson, Richard Hastings, Paul Sheerin, Mark Brown, Paul Ritchie, Johnny Hayes, Roy McBain are all ICT Legends IMO. Theres no doubt a few out there i've missed though. Keep em coming.

  38. To be fair to Ian Black, he was the backbone of our midfield throughout the majority of our SPL history. He was a fans favorite despite his bad-boy reputation, and the well wishes he received when he moved on the Hearts (and whilst he was at tynecastle) almost certainly sees him up there with other 'legends'... I think many people now resent Ian for his choice to join up with The Rangers. I cant remember too much negativity against Ian Black as to what we see since his signing. In my opinion, a Legend in todays footballing terms, is someone who has contributed significantly to the success of a team for a set period. Take for instance Adam Rooney and Craig Dargo. Both here for about 2-3 years each, and both scored goals galore for us. Both can be considered club legends given their goal returns in those short spans of time, but I bet the majority on here only see Adam as being a Legend as his goals effectively won us our place back in the SPL. I wouldn't consider players such as Andrew Allan or Ally Ridgers as legends as they rarely featured in their time. Yet I would perhaps consider Juanjo as being so because he brought in a bit of Spanish flare and continues to hold a special place for ICT.

  40. Well. I'm afraid our sing song was rudely interupted by the Liverpool and Accrington Useless Rules for the Enforcement of Nonsense Committee Executive However, I am delighted to say that following an appeal to the Ministry of Commonsense, permission to continue the sing song has been obtained. So, shower gel at the ready. Here we go! When you sit in the Kop put a peg on your nose And don't be afraid of the smell You will soon get a shower When the sprinkler starts And the scousers will get one as well Wash on through the rain Wash on in the drain Let your hair be washed and blown Wash on, wash on, with soap on your parts And you'll never wash alone You'll never wash alone :ictscarf: :ictscarf:
