  1. Couldn't have asked, or hoped, for a better signing at this moment in time. Butcher being poached could/should have been a real body blow, but it's a testament to the attitude of the players, club & fans that we've rallied together and lifted the club above all that and kept it moving forward. So much so that the appointment of the new manager almost seems to have become the side show instead of the main event. TOGETHER WE BELIEVE - TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE

The banter on this topic has been tremendous, but should it now be "retired"? It would be kind of appropriate that, just like Butcher's reign, it ends in farce.
  5. Very decisive action by Mr Kenny Cameron and a very smart move. Richie is an articulate and intelligent man. And,as someone else said, an inspirational and skilful workhorse and an example of true professional dedication to the club and the cause. Thank you Mr Foran for your sense of commitment. I don't think you will be sorry and the future is bright for you at Caley Thistle.
  6. Hi everybody! I introduce myself to you. I hope that this is the right section, since I speak of passion for Inverness. if it is the wrong section I apologize, and I hope you will forgive my mistake, I'm new to the forum. I’m from italy, but I love scottish football. Some years ago I’have never been in Scotland (I travelled only in Wales, England, and Ireland) and my first love in scottish football was Celtic (I hope that you don’t hate me, what Inverness supporters think about Celtic?). Afterwards I came in Scotland to see a Celtic match, and in this occasion I also traveled throughout Scotland, especially in the highlands, for two weeks. I saw Inverness, and I was in love with this beautiful city, and the people of the highlands (I travelled up to John O’ Groats and Durness) and their traditions, and I keep a good memory especially about Inverness. Now I support both Celtic (thanks to whom I have known Scotland) and Inverness (the love that I find in Scotland). I hope that you don’t hate me for that, I repeat! PS: I had some problems to connect and register. What is the reply at the question “If one train travels 50 miles west at 30 mph and another travels 23 miles east at 100mph, what day is it now?”

Well that plan worked. 0-0 FT Should have known the underdog would do well. I seem to remember the Faroes came onto the scene and beat Austria in their first senior game. Still, at least I backed Scotland at 6/1 when they were getting an absolute doing in Norway, just 2 minutes before Brown scored.

  10. Should have invited them up for the game on Saturday....you could have met beforehand...around 12:15pm perhaps?
  11. Aberdeen Evening Express reporting tonight that Levein has snubbed ICT........ Thank Feck!!
  12. Easy win for Hibs unfortunately. Butcher and Malpass could not have asked for an easier tie. Ross County Wanderers are struggling a bit without Munro and Tokley. Their Manager has drifted into the supernatural after initially suggesting Goodwin was handy around the box. https://twitter.com/Glasgowbud1965/status/402522308121595904/photo/1

  15. A decent bet at 33/1. Been reading sturrocks managerial history on Wikipedia. He really does have a good pedigree and he is looking to get back into management. KC please take note...
  16. ....in that case, get Ross Draper signed up next - he's been immense this season.
  17. “Caley Jags Together have been invited to meet with Iain Blair, Secretary and Neil Doncaster, CEO of the SPFL at Hampden Park on 28th November to discuss the on-going concern regarding the arrangements for the League Cup semi-final game against Heart of Midlothian on 2nd February 2014. We go in to this meeting with unprecedented backing from Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, football fans all over the country, local and national politicians and media. We intend to discuss the issues fully and sensibly in order that we can come to an arrangement that suits both sets of supporters – after all they are the lifeblood of the game and we want to see as many as possible enjoy a fantastic day out in February. We thank everyone who has supported our campaign so far and will update everyone as soon as we are able to. Tweets Terry Butcher ‏@TerryButcher_11 Nov I enjoyed my time @ICTFC however as I head towards retirement I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet down in the bottom six. Butcher has come to terms with life on a much larger salary and access to the Capital's wine bars!! Steve Marsella not currently listed as a Hibee coach: http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/page/CoachingStaff/0,,10290,00.html ...but he remains on the ICT Management listing : http://ictfc.com/club/football-management Goalkeeping Coach/Chief Scout - Steve Marsella Just found the Hibs initial draft CV for TB: Terry Butcher was appointed Hibernian manager on Tuesday 12 November 2013 after getting bored with Inverness. Formerly manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Butcher, 54, has a wealth of managerial experience from a range of sackings all over England and Australia. Former England captain Butcher won the UEFA Cup and FA Cup while as a player with Ipswich Town and enjoyed trophy-laden success during his time with Rangers. As a Manager he has had little success and tends to panic and apply for other jobs if the team excels. Energetic, ego enthusiast and focused, Butcher led Inverness into the top-six during the 2012/13 season, bottled their Euro dreams before being appointed manager of Hibernian. This followed their annual AGM manager panic attack following a Malmo humiliation and the regular Hearts humping.

  21. What a boost. The lure of staying at ICT was stronger than following Terry and Mo. Now everyone should give our Captain the respect he deserves. And support the team in numbers.
  22. Calderwood, Sheils, Robbo and Barry Wilson , Paul Hartley etc. My head is spinning. But Paul Hartley is an up and coming , dynamic and successful younger man with a very bright future and he appears to be thirsty for success but he is also popular with his players who admire him and apparently look to him for guidance. And his recent past record speaks for itself. And how !!! Reeking with determination and ambition, he also appears to be a very good strategist with a very hard-headed, visionary mind and approach to doing business. From what I have read, his success has not (yet) gone to his head and he has that down-to-earth character that attracts compliments and loyalty from his players. Whoever is appointed will be under intense scrutiny and appraisal until he proves himself. Hartley has undoubtedly proved himself at the lower levels of Scottish football but a step up to the Spl with the now, also, ambitious and dynamic Caley Thistle team is a significant challenge and would either be one step too far for him or two steps in front of everybody else. But football is football whether it is played in a back street in Glasgow or the Longman at Inverness and once someone gets a grip on his new job then he either is a determined winner or not. I like him and he gets my vote, because I think he is a winner and has the ability to fit in seamlessly into the Caley Thistle set-up. And, hopefully, the team will grow along with him. However, the choice of assistant coach will be critical for him to achieve the peaks.
  23. I just hope the new manager rates him But seriously, this is a superb bit of buisness by the Board and sends a marker out that our strong squad will not be broken up without a fight.
  24. This is fantastic news, and sends a clear message about how this club is held in great regard by players and fans alike . Overwhelmingly positively. Cheers Richie!
  25. Wonderful if unexpected news. Securing Richie is, in my opinion, almost as important to our immediate and medium term future as getting the managerial appointment right. I have little doubt, given the regard our former manager has for him, that Richie would have had to opportunity of moving to Hibs in the summer for more money albeit probably for a shorter contract. The board have shown faith and loyalty to Richie giving him a three year extention at his age. He has, in turn, shown faith and loyalty to the club by opting for continuity and long term security rather than short term gain. That, Mr Butcher, is how things should be done.
  26. Fantastic news. Thank you Richie Foran!
  27. I put the petition on the FC United of Manchester forum and its proving successfull. They have shared it on their twitter aswell. FC are a club who promote affordable football and will help us if needed!
  28. In a straight choice between Craig Levein and Paul Hartley I would be inclined towards the latter even though he is the bigger risk. He may be untried in management at this level but knows the league very well having only relatively recently stopped playing in it after many successful seasons. His record in management, although short, shows great promise having taken an Alloa team he built himself largely from scratch from the Third Division to being the best and most successful part time team in the country. Not my own first choice but I would be more than content if PH got the job, especially if in tandem with an experienced assistant.
  29. Still waiting on the advertised buffet to appear. Starving mun.
  30. Best: Hayes, Meekings, Warren, McKay, Andy Shinnie, Draper, OTJ (the J stands for Judas) Worst: Tade, Gnapka, Eagle, Stratford Kind of think Roberts wasn't as bad as everyone made out considering how young he was. Considering he was playing regularly in the first team and he couldn't have been much older than some of our youth players (who I would have rather have seen on the pitch rather than a loanee).
  31. Best: Signing for ICT Worst: Signing for Hibs
