  1. Talking on BBC Sport after the game, a fuming Foran said "Today, an official has killed us," I've got more news for you Richie. The club has been killed by the manager, with a board, in the dressing room. They haven't a cluedo. Game over I'm afraid.

  2. So Foran discovered Fisher is quite a decent striker, works hard and scores goals. Where he has been all season. Oh, that's right, in your squad, Richie, you useless dimwit. We had a comfortably mid-table side when you came in. Look at us now. No excuses. Please leave the building, and allow the players one last chance without your bizarre ramblings.

  3. Largely because he is such a great guy and because of his love for and loyalty to the club and the city, I have been very reluctant to agree with that view even very recently. However, with immense sadness and a very heavy heart, I have to say that you are right. Thanks for all the wonderful memories as a player Richie, not least that wonderful last second equaliser in the cup in Dingwall a few seasons ago. Thanks for your loyalty in not following Butcher to Hibs when you had the opportunity and thanks even for trying your very best to manage our club in very difficult circumstances. I have no doubt that you gave it 100% and were fully committed but, whilst a very fine player, you are clearly not a manager, coach tactician or even possess the ability to motivate others as you were so obviously were motivated yourself. Go now and leave with your pride and dignity intact and give the club you care for as much as we do one final chance to retrieve the season. What ever happens to us in the last five games you will always be fondly remembered for your effort and commitment. Don't now tarnish those memories further.

  6. Surely to god Foran will be sacked in the morning, if not tonight. Been saying since we got pumped in the previous "biggest game of the season" 6 pointer. He is a great guy but a terrible, terrible manager, a complete and utter dud, he cannot organise or motivate this team and we are unlikely to win any of our remaining matches if he stays in charge. I don't blame Foran for his lack of aptitude, he tries very hard, I blame the people who thought the best option was to persevere with this failure and sleepwalk into relegation and at this moment I am absolutely effing fuming about it.

  7. The board must take the opportunity now for one last throw of the dice. Get rid now and give new man two weeks, or best part of, dependent on how long it takes to get new manager in place, to organise squad for next match. Otherwise their positions are as untenable as Richie's.

  8. I will happily support my team through thick and thin if the players are giving their all and the club management is reasonably competent. Ups and downs are a feature of sport and there is no entitlement for us to be in the top division. But, enough is enough. Foran is miles out of his depth and has taken a reasonable bunch of players to a destination that should never have been on the cards. There is no way that our squad is the weakest in the premiership, but we are the worst team and we play shocking football. Entertainment is the name of the game and what's on show is far rom entertaining and won't change unless the management changes. When that happens, I'll be back.

  9. Raging. Here it is on the line: I will not be going back to TCS until our amateur manager is punted. Nor will I renew my season ticket. Time after time this season he's selected bizarre lineups and left decent players on the bench nd hor out of position. We have looked a total shambles organisation-wise for months with an unbelievable array of "formations". No wonder the players look confused! Remind me how many games we've won with Draper, Tansey and Vigurs across the midfield...none. The only time we've looked anywhere near half decent was with Polworth in the hole, Draper and Tansey holding and with pace out wide. And yet you can count on one hand how many times we've used that formation. What about Fisher? All that time we were struggling for a striker and he never got a look in? He's looked half decent whenever I've seen him. Sticking with the likes of Vigurs and Warren regardless of form has killed us and that is all down to Foran. Gutless board at ITCFC - are you listening? People will lose their jobs either way, but I'd prefer it to be Foran than hardworking backroom staff.

  10. Even a single year out of the top division will cost us over twice as much as we made from the cup win so logically you would swap that for Premiership survival. However, football has very little to do with logic and personally I wouldn't swap that wonderful euphoric afternoon in Glasgow for anything.

  13. It's a conspiracy! Just look at that absolute ball bag Finnie last week, now that horrendous decision today, match officials in Scotland are the worst, clueless bunch of clowns the lot of them.

  14. Not at the game today, so this isn't in particular reference to today's decision. Scottish referees are rank rotten, end of story. If you aren't either Rangers or Celtic nobody gives a flying feck whether decisions are correct or consistent. We constantly hear that bad decisions even themselves out - that only happens in that if one of the Old Firm get a ridiculous decision in their favour, then the other will be a beneficiary in the next game. Fans of each of the other 9 non Old Firm teams will be able to point to shocking decisions they have been on the wrong end of all season long. The officials don't seem to be in any way accountable to any one, and quite what the point of assistant referees is, in the Scottish game, is completely beyond me. Don't expect this to change any time soon either.

  15. Realistically, the only issue now to be determined is whether we can overhaul free falling Dundee to sneak into the play off spot. I can well see Dundee not winning a single game or perhaps even not gaining a point after the split. The problem is I have the very same view about ourselves. We need to heap pressure on the Dark Blues but we will not do that unless we win in Dingwall a week Friday. Without doubt, the most important Highland derby in history from our point of view and we can't possibly afford to start as sloppily as we did today.

  16. Soul destroying loss for us which makes it hard to rally behind the cause. I used to be Ritchie's most vocal supporter but the candle is burning very dimly indeed now. My view of the board role in all this is a poor one, it's almost like the parachute payment is what they're after.

  20. I see that Goodwillie scored a hat trick for Clyde today which may go a long way to save them from the prospect of being relegated out of the SPFL. Personally, I would rather see our family oriented club relegated, as it's looking increasingly likely we will be, than sign a man who has been judicially determined to be a vile rapist even if that was guaranteed to save us. There are more important things in life and more important moral values than football.

  23. Graeme Bennett may not have been everyone's cup of tea but he did seem to have an eye both for players and managers. Hard to identify anyone at board level with that ability and footballing knowledge now.

  24. There have been better and greater players than RF that have been stick-ons to make the step up to management after their playing days and have failed. I believe he has lost the dressing room now and there is no way back for ICT without an immediate departure. I remember feeling quite positive after RF's first interview when he announced ICT were going to attack. What I didn't realise was he meant in the way kids do when they're playing about with their team formations on the playstation and try a 10 player charge for the hell of it. The naivety of our play has been cruelly exposed and that is because our experienced players are not being directed properly. This won't change in a lower division. Football is a privileged job and you can either do it or you can't and if you can't, you join the rat race like the rest of us.

  33. That's just about as poor a team as we could put out. Brad Mckay instead of MacNaughton, Vigurs, Draper and Tansey (can't play together) and Polworth presumably wide right. This is roughly the midfield that was central to that horrendous run without a win - only King has pace and generally hasn't shown up. I just don't get it.

  34. Jeepers were you guys all at the phsycotherapy session too. Positivety is fine but it's tactics we need for 6 boring one nil wins and I'm not convinced the board / RF has grasped that point. Hoping I'm wrong, starting today.

  35. Fir Park six-pointer. It's getting close to last chance saloon for Inverness as they try to stave off relegation. A visit to fellow strugglers Motherwell is our last game before the League split, a split that will determine our fate over the final five games of this dismal season. It's probably fitting that the bottom two clubs at this moment are Inverness and Motherwell, the clubs with the worst defensive record in the League. Inverness' only away win all season came at Motherwell back in October. It kind of came out of the blue although it was nonetheless very welcome at the time. Second half goals from Carl Tremarco, Lonsana Doumbouya, and Liam Polworth catapulted rookie boss Richie Foran's side into the top-six. Here we go we all thought. Alas, a devastating one win in the twenty-one League games since then has plummeted Foran's flops to the brink of relegation, four points adrift of second bottom Motherwell. It's been a season to forget for Caley Jags fans with a total of four wins to date, the worst statistic in British senior football. Speculation grew in the media this week that Foran was about to get the bullet, but the club quickly dispelled any truth in the hype surrounding this, although many fans fear it's a couple of months too late in the making. The board won't like this either, but many pundits are looking to them as guilty parties in this sorry mess. Foran's appointment being the main topic and appearing to be the cheap option. Club legend Barry Wilson talking on BBC Sport is pointing his finger at the board. "The buck stops with the board. They made the appointment, they took the gamble and, at the minute, it's certainly not looking as if it's worked. "Richie needed his own man in there as an assistant, he wasn't granted that, so there had to be a partnership between Brian and Richie - and I don't think that's there. That doesn't help." We are not relegated yet though and should we defeat Motherwell, then more opportunities will surely come along after the split, but the statistics don't back that up with only four wins in thirty-two games, why should the last five be any different. We showed nothing against St Johnstone to suggest that we are up for a battle and if anything, most of the players look resigned to Championship football already. We plumbed new depths against St Johnstone going down without much fight 3-0 at home with two players sent off. Larnell Cole during the second half and Gary Warren after the final whistle. Nothing went right for us and heads went down too early, the Cole sending of just brought forward the capitulation. The Steelmen lost 1-0 to surprise top-six qualifiers Partick Thistle who have had a great season by their recent standards. That defeat was Well's seventh in the last ten games with only one win and two draws. Well parted company with Mark McGhee at the end of February after a run of two wins in thirteen games. Seems not too bad considering some managers have had worse records. However the straw that broke the donkey's back was a 5-1 thrashing from Dundee. A month later they appointed Stephen Robinson as the man to get them out of trouble. His first game saw the bounce help them to a win over Killie, but that has been followed by no wins in their last five games and we have edged one point closer to them by virtue of an extra draw. Inverness will be missing the suspended duo of Larnell Cole and Gary Warren. Josh Meekings, Iain Vigurs and Aaron Doran are long term absentees. David Raven missed last weekend with a groin strain and is a doubt as is fellow defender Jamie McCart. One massive blow to our hopes is that Billy Mckay is struggling to make this one. Jake Mulraney featured for the development squad in midweek and he will benefit from some game time. Kev McNaughton played last weekend against St Johnstone, but maybe found the pace too much given his lengthy spell out and the role he was offered, but his quality showed through. Motherwell have Keith Lasley suspended for this game. Stephen McManus is recovering from a groin operation and is not expected back yet. Richard Tait has also been under the knife and is out having missed the last seven games. Louis Moult is a doubt for this game. tm4tj prediction:- I despair watching the Caley Jags at the moment. The lack of passion is evident, the lack of quality is evident, the lack of ambition is evident, the lack of creation is evident. On this evidence, we are heading one way unless the manager and players can find something that's been missing all season. I don't hold out much hope for a win, maybe a draw, but it's who wants it the most. Home win looks likeliest. Other games in the relegation watch this weekend:- Dundee v Hamilton. Dundee have lost their last 6 games on the bounce. Accies have 2 wins & 2 draws in last 6. Killie v Hearts. Killie are on the verge of safety, a win over Hearts would make them unlikely candidates.

  36. Yes and they've brought back the psychotherapist who helped them win the old 1st Division in 2010. May be he can psyche up the players enough to go on a winning run until the end of the season and overhaul Dundee by 12 points again. Positive thinking or am I dreaming?

  37. Sugar daddies are great while they are there but when the plug is pulled, the consequences are devastating. You just have to look at Gretna, Rangers and Nairn County to name but three. It isn't sustainable. I must also say again that I find this expectation that directors and wealthy people should be expected to subsidise loss making football clubs. The root cause of the problem is that players just about everywhere are paid more - often far, far more - than their realistic market rate.

  38. Thanks for your kind comments, Caleytrue, and I am glad that you enjoyed the film clip. I was gobsmacked when I discovered it by accident - it had never occurred to me that some film of the event might exist. I wasn't at the Telford Street gig, but it was well-known in Inverness. The only other time Rory played in Inverness was the gig that I referred to above - on 1 March 1973. (I know this because I have an advert for the tour, from one of the music papers, in a frame on the wall beside me - good picture of Rory, and a list of all the tour dates). It was in the Caledonian Hotel, which is now the Mercure, on Church Street. They put on gigs in their ballroom. I have no idea if it is still a ballroom, but if you stand on the riverside and look at the hotel, it is the shoebox-shaped extension coming towards you on the right-hand side. It was my first proper rock gig with a A-list name. I wasn't really into Rory at the time, but my mates were, so I said "OK, get me a ticket too". I don't think I realised how lucky I was - I believe that the show could have been sold out two or three times over. We didn't get many big names in the north of Scotland, so anyone who made the journey could expect a great welcome. Just imagine that small, low-ceilinged ballroom jam-packed with hot, sweaty, drunken Highlanders eager for their shot of rhythm'n'blues, and then imagine Rory and the band pulling out all the stops! It was great. As I said, I thought all rock gigs were going to be that good. To be honest, I don't remember many details about the music - I wasn't very familiar with it at the time. I do remember "Bankers Blues" being introduced as one from the new album ("Blueprint"), and I also remember Rory promising to come back to Inverness during "In Your Town" - but he never did. I, however, moved away in 1974 - first to university and then to work in London, so I saw him again many times over the years. Many happy memories - and also sadness at his untimely death.

  47. Was that ANOTHER poor decision from the ref today when the press and other fans seems to suggest that the ball was not over the line when Fon Williams scooped it up? If that goal had not ben given then ICt might have won that game? At least according to Martin Dowden--see below. And I have had a sneaking feeling for some time now that the power brokers who run Scottish football have not exactly been overjoyed at the success in recent times of the jumped up little team with heart from the north whose courage and hard work have put the major monied teams such as Celtic and Rangers in their place. And have these feelings somehow trickled down to their appointed referees accompanied by a nudge-nudge, wink-wink do you think? Mmmm? Based solely on some of their decisions against our team that I have seen, which were absolutely unbelievably wrong, who knows? http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39536661

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
