  1. A conflicting afternoon for Gregor and his stats as White scores again but we also get another win playing one up front.
  2. That was an enjoyable afternoon. The team were up for it and positive, and we deservedly won. Ridgers did what he had to do. With only four fit experienced defenders, credit Tremarco for doing so well at right back. Yes, he had to pull back to cross with his left foot, but I thought he put in a great shift. He fortunately recovered from an early knock. McHattie seemed comfortable on the left. Donaldson was steady enough, with a couple of wayward passes, and McCart was the pick of the defence for me. I don't think Donaldson is fully fit at present so all credit to him for his performance. I like the Donaldson / McCart pairing. Chalmers had the best game I've seen from him since Tannadice last season and was a justified Man of the Match, whilst I enjoyed Welsh's skill in he corner running diwn the clock. He was also more positive with the ball than in some games. Polworth picked up a knock, and I hope that's not the last we've seen of him. Even as he was deservedly applauded off, some were questioning why he was being clapped. Doran had a better game. He has lost pace, but was holding the ball well. Walsh was a bit quieter than some recent games, but still put in a good shift and we need his pace and creativity. I was really impressed by White today. Yes, he (and Doran) missed very good chances (we also hit the post, Doran I think) but the ball was sticking a lot more and he was linking up well. He also got the vital goal. Mackay didn't have his best performance when he came on, but he has been injured so was probably lacking sharpness. Trafford actually impressed me in his time on the pitch. Ayr did create chances, but we handled them pretty well and coped with going in front. A very satisfying display! We only had one senior player on the bench, so hopefully we stay clear on suspensions, and get Oakley, Austin and maybe even Beith fit soon, particularly if Polworth is leaving. Looking forward, we should not under estimate East Kilbride, but hopefully we get a few goals and a good display, and can then look forward to moving up the league. But really well done to all 13, great to see a performance and win!
  3. It’s a rare chance to fully enjoy a Saturday night, cheers ICT ?
  4. Why can't the team play like that every week. Jordan White today was outstanding.
  5. If he's heading off, to St Johnstone or wherever, I really hope he flourishes and has a great career. Woth his assists, I think he has often been under rated, so he will be a great loss to us, either now or in the summer.
  6. He’s smarter than the average bear
  7. Feckin steady mun... outstanding? He made up for his glaring miss in the first half, yeah the big bulb made up for his misses and did ok. I'll never be his biggest fan but he did ok.
  8. Just on here to check we had actually won a game and I hadn't fallen asleep and had a dream Well done to the team now on to the cup game next week.
  9. Given Polworth was reportedly one of the players who has been ill recently but still played through feeling sick I'd say he did alright. Still though, got to slag someone off I suppose.
  10. Was a deserved win but at 1-0 as we have shown regularly we don't have the confidence to go on and pulverise the opposition. Don't forget, as we had, Ayr were short of a few players too. Once we scored we did look to get another but with Doran missing that absolute sitter we seemed to withdraw. After a brilliant move across the penalty box, Doran was left with the relatively simple task of slotting the ball into the net past the keeper. Unfortunately he stifled it and dragged it past the near post. Great chance missed. I also thought Jordan was much better today although I am reliably informed that he should have scored after he created his own chance in the first half. However, he did score the all important goal after missing the glancing header but overall I thought he was pretty much our man of the match. Well done Jordan, long may it continue.
  11. Arguably our best result of the season so far. That's the second time we've completely outclassed Ayr. It's bizarre that they're in such a lofty position. Wouldn't surprise me if they end up finishing mid table. Tremarco impressed at right back, MOTM for me, haven't seen him play so well since we were in the SPL. Would be inclined to leave the entire back 4 unchanged next week. Chalmers and Welsh were also outstanding, completely bossed the midfield. Hopefully a little more luck and a few less muggings in the second half of the season should see us sneak back into the title race.
  12. As a side note, Coll Donaldson has been dropping his usually high standards of late, and his passing has become decidedly telegraphic... Get the head down, Coll.
  13. Better performance and good win but lots more work to be done before we've turned the corner.
  14. Been a long time coming. Deservedly took the 3 points although a second goal would have made the last ten minutes more bearable Some decent performaces today ,in particular McCart who is shaping up to be a very good partner for Donaldson.
  15. Great result ...good to hear White had a good game, especially as Austin and Oakley weren't even on the bench (at least Daniel is back). Play-offs are very much on the cards, but it'll be nip and tuck I reckon, Ayr not won in five, since they smashed Dundee and only twice since the start of November....think they could be vulnerable to dropping out of the play-offs eventually. We could do we a couple more new faces I reckon. Rather surprised by the County result! This and Caley winning has partly made up fror my other team having it's pocket picked. Just two weeks before I get to see Caley live again...I canna wait
  16. 4 out of 13 shots on target...Not enough to win many games and Ayr missed some good chances. Need to make the keeper work.
  17. Much better game today great performance by Doran & White i get the feeling Polworth has played his last home game for us good luck to the boy ! I and all around where i sit very disappointed in Daniel when he came on very poor think Macgregor would of been a better sub. No Austin again ? As someone said earlier and made me laugh he is made of crisps he is that fragile ☹️ Happy Saturday everyone it is good to come home happy for a change we had forgotten what a home win felt like oh and the County score ?? really didn't see that coming. Nearly forgot to say how good McCart was today very solid him and Coll make a very good partnership he is a much better player than Brad the bombscare .
  18. I agree. I thought Chalmers had his best game for us. He went for everything. Also thought Welsh and Walsh made great contributions. What a difference a week makes!
  19. I am happy with that. Forgot what watching a win was like.

Generating funds for decent players is a perennial problem. Maybe we should start advertising our home games as 2015 Scottish Cup Final reunion parties. Might attract some of the ten thousand or so who were there but haven't bothered to do anything to support the club since.
  21. Inverness "fans," when they realise they won't be able to shout abuse at Liam anymore.
  22. Just to let folk know that at the Supporters Trust Board meeting on Thursday, Stewart Murdoch was elected unopposed as the new Chair. Other office bearers are as before. Current line up therefore is as follows Chair: Stewart Murdoch Vice Chair: Peter Mutton Secretary: Jennifer Aitchison Treasurer: Kath Fraser Laura Grant, Lynne Macdonald and Ewan Macrae are the other members of the team. We are currently having some discussion about how the Board should communicate both with members and the wider fan base. Updates on that and the activities of the Board will follow in due course.
  23. Getting rid of Robbo would be folly. 1. We'd have to pay significant gardening leave yet again. 2. Who would we bring in that could realistically do a better job? 3. We've no money to pay 2 managers yet again. 4. He's doing the best he can petty much. (imo).

Hughes should have left this club as a Legend, but his manner of departure soured it all
  25. A wonderful career and a great ambassador for tennis and sport more generally. I do think it is rather sad that he intends to struggle on. If his hip is so bad that it is painful to put his shoes and socks on, he is not going to be able to beat anyone half decent. One can't help but admire his bravery and determination but he really should call it a day. We have great memories of him in his prime and I would rather those be the lasting memories and not pictures of him limping off a court in tears after a heavy defeat to someone I've never heard of. Time to focus on some of the up and coming young players that he has done so much to inspire.

Still seventeen games, almost half the league season, to go. Sort out our depressing tendency to fail to hang on to the lead and a play off place is still well within our grasp especially if Walsh continues his goal scoring form. We were in a far worse position this time last season yet still only fell short due to a ninety fifth minute equaliser by Dunfermline. It's not been great of late but, personally, I'm not giving up on this season just yet.
  27. Thought you would be pleased with White he did play better today and I am sure if he keeps scoring goals I along with others will be pleased although some will never be happy!
  28. Well mixed bag on here but isn’t it great to bask in a win Yes I stand corrected we won once again with one up front when I’ve been advocating a two up However White was pretty decent today don’t you think, as I’ve been saying for weeks, and it’s good to see others giving him some plaudits tonight. Best I’ve seen Chalmers tbh but as one other poster said it was very similar to last weeks performance but this week we managed to keep the door shut at the back which is crucial.
  29. I would happily oblige but, not being very numerate, I lost count mid way through the second half.
  30. An entertaining game that we deservedly won. We can stay in the promotion mix but we need to shake off the habit, that was still in evidence today, of taking the lead and then stopping doing what we did to deserve it. I fear that we may have seen the last of the second best player ever to have come through our youth system. If so, whilst some boo boys may be happy with themselves, the club and our promotion prospects will be the poorer for it. Great to see Doran back to something approaching his pre injury self.
  31. To be fair, he is clearly carrying an injury and should be applauded for playing on due to suspensions to others
  32. First league win I've seen this season!! More please. Thought there was more of a determination to win in the team today, and we controlled the game much better than last week after going ahead. Definitely a case of turning a draw into a win today.....if only we could've done that in a handful of the games we have drawn!?
  33. Yeah he did get a cynical kick in the heel by Ayr player and got subbed after.
  34. Mmmmm. Father and Polly’s grandparents in North Stand today. Cynic would say we’re they there to watch his last game? Think he took a nasty impact to the wrist and then a knock on the heel so sub was probably wise. Flashes of good play from him but at times a tad frustrating again. As the topic says.....enigma.
  35. Good win today. First half was quite even but second half was caley and we could have won by another couple- their keeper making a point blank save and Doran putting by the post when it looked easier to score. Chalmers had a good game. Ayr were missing a few players today most notably Shankland and it was an opportunity for us. Happy to say we took it and saw the game out. Superb...
  36. Really important to win this. QoS 3 up on County, Morton and Dundee Utd currently only on one point each.
  37. A number on here go on about his vision and movement but unless you sit and watch one plaster all game I’m not sure about the validity of issuing those kind of statements. Yes, a huge amount of assists. But also a lot of missed, slack passes. And yes, you can argue that he plays the right ball and it is the teammate who has not anticipated the pass. But you could argue that a good player has the understanding of the squad about him too. I think Liam has reached a point in his career, like we all do, where a change would do him good and I hope he kicks on from there in all seriousness. But I don’t agree we’ve brought it on ourselves. I think the club need to consider a crowdfunding angle if finances are as bad as rumours say they are. 2000 maybe chipping in £50 for use in the club may free up some cash for wages? And yes, absolutely we should get behind the locals, youngsters or anyone and I think the time is coming where they should be blooded for experience but also to get the crowds buzzing again. 3 points today would be a start......must go and get my seat!
  38. why put him on loan to sit on bench? The reason players are put on loan is to get game time thet can't get here.
  39. Probably the best sports person Scotland has ever produced and a fine advocate for fairness and equality off the court. Sorry you didn't get to end your career on your terms but thank you for a great sporting journey and for some wonderful memories. It will be a long time, I fear, until we see your like again.
  40. Saw on line he is in talks with a club. We have brought this on ourselves. Fans near me are on his back for everything and miss the vision he has. Not sure if it is a pre contract or whether they want him now. Either way, we will be poorer without him but I wish him well. His goal and celebration in Dingwall when we won 3-0 springs to mind. I really hope the fans support our local youngsters as they break through. Otherwise the lure of other clubs will overshadow us.
  41. If we chucked out Robbo we would be paying out more gardening fees than Alan feckin Titchmarch
  42. Having a Good businessman in charge these days is probably a good thing is it not?
  43. Got exclusive phottie of Graham at training
  44. Robbo is not the problem - it's the lack of funds!
  45. Pelel did, at least in relative terms, have money. He had the largest budget when we were in the old Third Division and the old Second Division. That said, he used that money wisely and had a great eye for a player. He also had the benefit of the novelty of the new stadium and bringing league football to Inverness. It seems that that novelty didn't take long to wear off and for apathy to set in despite our later wonderful achievements. That makes the task for any manager now much more difficult.
  46. Oh well , I suppose all good things come to an end. Well done son.
