Get this guy gone. If it wasn't the middle of winter I'd suggest a shoes off protest! Mon Mr chairman surely you can see what's happening here? Wield the axe before it's too late! The club is at its lowest ebb! Relegation will signal the end. Whom has hold of the reins?5 points

I agree that SG can be good company etc. But, my problem with him is he talks a good game but nothing happens. The club may not have a large budget, but he seems to not want the fans money and only interested in the big, high risk projects which so far have not been successful. Too focused on concerts, free ports and battery farms and not interested in the bread and butter business of football and the fans. Season tickets not being renewed, hospitality non existant, player sponsorship nothing like it used to be, businesses not supporting club any more due to the concert fiasco, lack of communication and lack of fan engagement. The list goes on and that is nothing to do with him being a Rangers supporter!4 points

We played very well in 2/3 of the pitch but were woeful up front. I just don't get the negativity of the approach. It is as though the tactic is to pass to feet through the defence for a final tap in for a goal. That is never going to happen. When Longstaff first came here, he looked like an exciting player who would take defenders on and have a pop at goal. It seems that was coached out of him by Dodds and that is continuing under Fergusson. Time and time again both he and Harper had the ball wide and had the chance either to take the defender on or to play a ball into the space behind the defender and just about every time they cut inside and played a safe ball square or backwards. I'm not for a minute suggesting a gung ho approach, but we do urgently need to introduce a bit more positivity in our forward play. By far the most positive thing on the night for this old codger was the brilliant support from the youngsters in section E. For a change there was some real atmosphere in the ground which made the rather boring fare on the park seem somewhat more exciting than it really was. I'm sure the team really appreciated it too. Well done guys!4 points

Shaw looks nothing like the player we saw back end of last season. Hopefully things can turn around for him soon4 points
-
What irks me somewhat is why did we sign Sheridan? Does his contract state he must get on the park during the game? He fluffed his header last night when the net should have been bursting. Longstaff should be an out and out winger. He has quick feet and a few tricks to show but we need to get the best out of him. Sideways football is painful to watch when you can pick out a better option from your sofa. Really annoys me3 points

We have a striker that can score goals, it's just unfortunate that he spends most of the game having to drop deep into midfield in order to get involved in play. Mckay must be the most frustrated player on the park, as well as the one covering most ground. Shaw must be the second most frustrated due to being played in the middle, instead of out wide where he was way more effective earlier in the season. He's one of if those gangly kind of runners that make him hard to tackle (similar mould to Daisy and Tokely). I've not seen much of us this season, but last night we looked very slow on the counter. This was allowing utd to get players back in numbers. I'm not a fan of hoofball, but you can't expect to get up the park quickly with sideways passing, and someone needs to tell our midfield there's no rule that says they have to stop at the half way line when in possession. Our players are more capable than they're being allowed to show, and I'm worried Ferguson is 'doing a Dodds' by not playing a system that suits the players we have available. Subbing on one of the shortest players in our squad just before a set piece with only 3 mins to go was a bit of a strange one. The denied penalty claim isn't what cost us the draw, conceding a goal did that. Unfortunate that 'the best keeper in the league' was caught napping. Regardless of who else is around him, he should be taking that ball with ease every time.3 points

I totally agree with DD about the young supporters in the north stand. The atmosphere was fantastic and I hope that they will come to more home games this season.3 points

We badly need a creative midfielder and a striker not defenders! My first impressions on Carragher was he isn't any better than what we have/had. He loves a safe pass and just looked to foul Utd players. Danny Devine was superb tonight. Let's hope results go our way tomorrow3 points

This. We have such lack of quality and depth the drop off between first team starters and the bench is possibly the biggest gap I can recall. So little options to change or turn a game.2 points

Is it not the case though, that whilst a lot of that bread and butter stuff has indeed been dealt with poorly, it is only big projects that could realistically make a major difference to our finances?2 points

Hiya Scot..... Oh and BTW no communications from anyone on the non playing side is allowed without his say so.2 points

I'm just going to put it out there. I have met SG a number of times, at games and outwith, and have always found him good company, interesting and willing to chat. He's got an almost impossible job, with no money to do it, and most criticism seems to be based on him supporting Rangers, 'Gasp, shock, horror, pearl clutching'. What I really dislike though is that no-one actually knows the facts but everyone is absolutely sure that if it is negative it is true. Yes communication is poor, but as far as I can see we have a SLO, and a communications team, and they are the ones failing. The man has tried things, some have worked, some haven't, but at least he has tried. While I'm on a roll.. Let's be honest about our club and our city. Our attendances of c 2000, if you believe that, are shocking, the cub is in decline and with the best will in the world it is not Scott Gardiners fault. The city does not support the team, for whatever reason, definitely not because SG supports Rangers, and that is what we need to fix. Getting rid of the CEO will not sort that.2 points

Losing to another late goal was a sickener as I thought we were the better team on the night. As others have said, we took the safe option too often and as a result didn’t make best use of our wingbacks. Shaw and Longstaff are out of position when we play with 3 (or 5) at the back, which doesn’t let them be as creative as they can be. On a positive, if we can maintain that level of performance against other teams and be prepared to shoot on goal we should survive ok. Just a pity it’s Raith in our next league game.2 points

I bet it was close after that late 'stonewall' penalty claim From my comfy vantage point some 460 miles South of the stadium, I though we played quite well. Utd weren't brilliant though so maybe that made us look better? Devine was my man of the match. Not sure about Carragher though. As mentioned in other posts, too many safe passes and defo should have picked up a yellow. We had several chances to pull the trigger but, for whatever reason, decided to pass it back or go square. Harsh that we didn't get at least a point as I thought we were the much better side. I also had to chuckle when Dodds mentioned the lack of options on the bench. Broomhill are up next so hopefully we can use this match as shooting practice before heading to Starks Park2 points

Precisely the kind of dismissive/mocking attitude towards fans views we've seen from the CEO.1 point
-
Reality is though he only plays 50% of games so technically in terms of value is costing twice what a player with better fitness does. Couple that with being in his 30s and probably leaving end of season it's a gamble being made which will hopefully allow some fresh quality to come in.1 point

Been a great servant and probably played all his best football with us including winning the Scottish cup. Given the criticism during his spells at Partick and Dunfermline he's proven a shrewd return.1 point

Great decision releasing a quality player like this when so much junk in the squad needing cleared up well before him . But it’s the way the club is being run these days . Very badly run club . CEO is a joke1 point

Last night was a dilemma. No season ticket for the first time in over 10 years so it was 'should I stay (at home and watch on TV) or should I go (and watch in person)' I watched on TV. Now before I get pelters, - it's mid January - money is tight at this time - it's cold - recent matches I have attended have been sooooooooo boring tactically and a yawn to watch - our CEO remains on post, wearing his Sevco tie - our Chairman is invisible and silent So, that's why I sat at home watching it. The status quo will remain off field, hopefully on field brightens up soon or more games will be missed by me into the second half of the season.1 point

Listening to off the ball just now and concensus was that if VAR were there it would been a penalty without doubt. Michael Stewart also spoke about ICT after the game and said defence looked good, And the midfield although they passed the ball about well there was a complete lack of ideas of how to convert the possession into goal opportunities. Shaw was poor and has been this season, Longstaff runs about looking like he doesn't know what he's meant to be doing. Gilmore and Carson were OK and at least add a bit of steel to our midfield. Only hope we can score a goal next week as our home record is horrendous.1 point

I would echo a lot of what has been said and the main point being the need for another striker (one that can score goals preferably ) and for current players to be more direct in the final third. However that said we wuz robbed last night a ninja steal that. Also I was thinking the penalty decision would have been given in most other professional leagues at the moment; but really I came to the conclusion that it would actually have been given if it was at the other end of the pitch. Different subject the Dunfermline game cancelled due to waterlogged pitch ?? There’s a bit of debate around that one1 point

If we (DF) are going to continue 3/5 at the back then we don't yet have the 11 players to pull it off, particularly in centre midfield/behind striker. Longstaff and Shaw aren't the solution.1 point

Dunc confirmed pre-match that we’ve let go of players in order to free up wages, and he hopes to bring in 2 players this window.1 point

To many players looking to take the safe option when a little more ambition is needed. Unbelievably for large parts of the game we never played with a a striker with Billy dropping so deep. Whatever formation we are playing it's not working, No wonder we are struggling to create and score with five defenders and Gilmour sitting just in front of them. Last 5mins we showed some desire but as always to little to late.1 point

Just gutted we matched them all over tonight but as Satan said we pass the ball far to much sideways and backwards instead of driving forward and having a shot at goal. If you don't have a shot you will not score goals!1 point

Tbh I think just one quality ball player would have made all the difference tonight, someone in the middle who could take the ball on the turn in tight areas..all the time we were turning back and the ball went sideways or back to Devine, he must have had a lot of touches. Billy doing 2 jobs for the price of one again. If we're not careful we'll burn him out. Tough result to take.1 point
-
I thought we played pretty well tonight, passed the ball well and were on top for long spells. We need to shoot for goal more often rather than play about outside the box. Devine was immense tonight, but to be honest I think the whole team played pretty well just a pity we never took our chances and for that we paid the price.0-0 would have been a fair result. Just missing that cutting edge1 point
-
Sickened to lose that one so late on. We looked really organised, some excellent possession football but absolutely no cutting edge. We desperately need more pace in midfield and in the forward areas. If we get that we'll be fine. It was particularly grating to hear Billy Dodds talk about our poor bench and the lack of options to change the game considering its his squad. Not convinced on throwing Carragher in from the start, think he was culpable for the goal along with Ridgers who went down in stages. Gutting to lose but it highlights the urgency on bringing in a couple of additional midfield/attacking players.1 point

Exactly what I said to my wife! Not impressed by Carragher. Too many safe, easy passes that did nothing, and lucky not be booked. But that's not where the problem is. I have a can of 3-IN-ONE that has more penetrative power...1 point

FFS, another sickening late defeat this season. It was destined for 0-0, with us being slightly the better side. Then a wicked deflection of Utd’s cross off Carson made it fall into Watt’s path when it wasn’t going anywhere near him otherwise. And to rub salt in a good penalty shout for handball doesn’t go our way. We did a lot of things pretty well, but didn’t get any luck tonight.1 point

We couldn't score in a brothel for 80 odd minutes. Then we bring on Sheridan. Doomed!!1 point

I would be happy to keep Doran till the end of the season as he was playing well at the start of the season.1 point

At least we can interview Welsh on the podcast now....it should be a mission to track down every squad escapee if they don't let us talk to the current squad..1 point

Not too fussed on Welsh leaving think him and Gilmour are off a similar mould and quite happy with our other midfield options in Anderson and hopefully we see more of Keith bray second half of the season1 point

Yes, I agree, but not to the detriment of everything else. A football club is nothing withhlout fans. I would also be happier if the big money projects SG was in the press shouting about actually made the club money. We all know the disaster the concerts were despite SG telling us all that concerts were the future for the club. Was that his fault with insisting on doing everything in house to make more money instead of handing it over to a company that knew what it was doing and making less money but still a profit. Yes it was. We were then told by him that the free port was an amazing opportunity for the football club. Only to be told by the chairman recently that was not true. Now all hope is being placed on a battery farm, is that going to go totally pear-shaped too....... Like I said, he talks a good game but never seems to deliver. And thats not only at our club.0 points
