  1. I've kept relatively silent (publicly) on this whole thing, but I sent the following email to the Supporters Trust earlier. Ultimately it is a decision for each individual to make on whether to buy season tickets and merchandise, but they should be FULLY informed on what that means and the risks involved. Unless the supporters' trust has had sight of and verified that a deal is in place (and if they do, tell us), then it's irresponsible for them to be encouraging people to make a purchase. They wouldn't support a boycott for fear of the legal implications, but seem happy enough to put a call out to buy and have fans risk their money?

  3. If I recall most weren't asking for Morrison to go. Gardiner certainly and he hasn't gone, he's still there. I have asked the club how long his notice is and told that it's confidential . Kelty too once it was announced 3 weeks ago has gone yeah, but they deserve absolutely no credit for that as it was an absolutely ludicrous idea that if like any normal club had even a modicum of communication with their fans would know. Ferguson should walk for his abject failure and having the brass neck of being paid £240,000 in the Championship but then why should he when the custodians of our apparently skint club have offered that disgusting amount. I won't be giving a penny until Gardiner is GONE and there are assurances that our accounts are in order and submitted. The fact that my season ticket is more expensive this year after relegation plus after their announcement which shows no accountability nor apology has not softened my view. 15 year season ticket holder and I'm not rich enough to throw way £400 on a whim and have plenty things I could do on a Saturday afternoon between my coaching and family duties.

  4. So Morrison has gone, Gardiner is going and Kelty is dead in the water. If I remember correctly those were the three main demands from the supporters in this forum and also the wider community. To get Ferguson out at this moment in time will cost a fortune that we just don’t have currently. I too am frustrated that we don’t have all the information we could have but I also remember being totally misled by Gardiner and his pals when they announced plans and cash windfalls as facts long before they were signed and sealed, so if the board aren’t giving much away just now maybe just maybe they are waiting until the deals are done and signed and written in stone before they announce what’s happening . If we don’t buy our season tickets and merchandise then we all know what will happen. I’d rather lose money trying to keep the club alive than have the money in the bank and sod all to do on a Saturday afternoon. Doubt I’ll make many friends with this but it’s way I see it.

  5. Evidence of that being true? Presumably the trust know more than they are able to divulge. That said their first loyalty should be to the trust membership. This whole "just trust us" ( no pun intended) vibe is wearing thin I'll be keeping my hard earned cash for now till we are provided with actual detail of any restructuting. Over to you ICTFC & Supporters trust. Well for me at last some light at the end of the tunnel . As a support we have all demanded change and it’s been granted . Gardiner will be gone and it’s time for us all to get behind the club on the next stage of our history . For those who say little has been said in the statement I’d argue the opposite . Youth and local players to be given the chance to show they are good enough . More importantly the news of possible new investment is massive and it’s understandable that the club until this is finalised cannot reveal details . For me some of the doom and gloom merchants on this forum will never be happy !!! The supporters trust have been in dialogue with the club and been given assurances . I will be renewing my season ticket on Monday . Finally for the many in Inverness who were revelling in our demise I say long live ICT . Reading between the lines, I agree that it does largely sound promising; particularly the part stating that we’ve got what we wanted in that we’ll be fielding many local players next season ( even if this is financially motivated rather than a desire to connect with area). This notwithstanding, the phrase “Following the continued restructuring of the club, including a revised football model…” evokes an element of dread in me due to the last revised model they unilaterally decided upon.

  6. I don't think Ross County are a fair comparison for ST prices considering that Roy just pumps money into the club they can afford to have cheaper season tickets.

  9. Trigger on ST did need to be pulled, as did kit, and something is better than nothing, but why is there still no improvement in comms? Maybe it's splitting hairs, guilty of doom and gloom, and missing the big picture, but it does need to be better than it currently is: They gave a very fond bon voyage to Ross -fair enough - but nothing about Cammy, Cameron, Mark, Aaron, Wallace...that's wild! "...as a Board [and as a club], we now respectfully ask the supporters to..." The current board have zero credibility after Aaron! "The Board of Directors at ICT would like to thank the fans for their patience at this difficult time" - 'patience'? Who has been patient? Tin-eared. "Scot is now serving his notice and will be continuing to help the Club get through this difficult period". Eh? we hope the Caley Jags fans can also rise to the occasion when we need you the most overlook the omni-shambles in the last six months, and our inability to do even the most basic tasks such as accounting, speaking to the players, or duty of care... [suggested edit] The Supporters Trust must have had a good reason to have backed the statement, but can they use their influence to improve the comms?

  12. The statement from the club today may not contain all we would like to hear and it may have the emphasis all wrong, but it brings much better news than we feared. The most positive part of the statement is the reference to "hugely positive discussions currently ongoing with a number of potential new investors". This suggests there are at least 2, and probably more, people ready and willing to put sufficient money into the club to save it from administration and that the discussions are pretty advanced. It really is important to acknowledge that these kind of negotiations are usually very difficult. Those willing to invest will not be wanting to throw their money into a bottomless pit. They will want to put conditions on their investment such as who is on the Board of Directors and who isn't; what the football model should be; what the management structure should be; how the finances are structured; what the relationship with supporters bodies should be etc. Crucially, they will want to know how much, if any, of the loans made to the club by the former chairman and other directors they expect to get back. Different potential investors and the current Board will have different views on these topics and somehow, they need to reach a consensus which they are all happy enough with before new investors will commit. I don't think the statement would have been released with such positive wording unless they were agreed in principle about the way forward. It is encouraging that the Supporters Trust have been in dialogue with the club during this time. However, just like any other party involved in negotiations, they need to respect the positions of others and be prepared to compromise. Fans wanted the Kelty scheme scrapped: it has been scrapped. Fans wanted the Chairman gone; he's gone. Fans wanted the CEO out: he's resigned and if not quite gone, he's going. It is therefore perfectly reasonable that the club and potential investors will expect the Trust to give them something back. That something is what the Trust has put in their statement. Yes the message is different from that made after the meeting in the Caley Club, but so it should be! The situation is radically changed from then, and it has changed because people were rallying round the Trust to give a united message. That message has been listened to and acted upon. I think the Trust have been doing a brilliant job in what is probably the most difficult period in the club's history. The potential investors may be willing to inject money into the club, but they probably don't have £500k sitting in a bank account. They will need to liquidate some assets to release lump sums or perhaps they are only able to inject money in installments. Meanwhile, bills have to be paid and staff need to be paid. Clearly, sales of season tickets and merchandise will help the cash flow. I fully understand the reticence many fans have in parting with money now. We all have good reason not to trust the club and for some, the purchase of a season ticket is a much bigger commitment than for others. Personally, I think it will be strategically good for some people to respond positively to the call to buy tickets and for others to hold back. It will give the club the message that the fans are acknowledging the progress being made but that further evidence of progress needs to be demonstrated. The message to the club will be that the fans are giving you some money but you will get more money when more assurances are given that the club's future is secure. The message to the fans effectively remains the same - it is a personal choice.

  13. There is no detail in any of this. They are expecting us to blindly invest in the club with no evidence things have improved financially and when change in the boardroom is slow at best. If you respectfully ask us to support the club then be respectful to us and inform us what we are investing in. If it's a short term loan from a pal of Morrison then no thanks. We have been left to speculate for well over a week about the clubs future but this does nothing to clarify the matter and neither does the ST statement. To be given assurances from the club board has meant absolutely nothing in the past, why would it mean something now?

  14. At this moment in time, the Supporters Trust are looking at it as a positive release by the club. This is the crux of their statement. The Supporters Trust board has been in dialogue with the club and has been provided assurances that the ongoing financial viability of the club and its senior management changes will soon be concluded. The first competitive game of the season takes place in just four weeks’ time, therefore with these assurances from the ICTFC board of directors, we feel it is time to move forward. We are therefore asking all Inverness Caledonian Thistle supporters to reunite behind the club, renew season tickets and purchase club merchandise. Only by doing that can the club we love continue in the short term, while new investment is completed. Our request for a democratically elected representative of the Supporters Trust board to join the club board still stands and we hope that this will now be seriously considered. We look forward to receiving updates on the club’s financial situation, the playing and coaching staff, and the youth academy.

  15. Reluctantly, I think I have to agree with you. A competent Board would have sufficient business knowledge for a situation like this and a competent CEO would have made sure that relevant information about the club's affairs were accessible and understood both by the Board and by relevant staff who should be sufficiently trained to allow them to routinely cover in the CEO's absence. Unfortunately we have a Board that appears to have adopted a blind faith in Gardiner and have left him to it with little scrutiny over the years. The CEO himself clearly likes the power his position gives him. Knowledge is power and keeping knowledge from others makes his position more powerful. Sadly, the combination of the 2 probably makes him indispensable just now. Gardiner has resigned and will be leaving the club. He will need to find work elsewhere and it will be in his interests to be as helpful as he possibly can in assisting the club to achieve the best outcome possible from the unholy mess he and the board have created.

  16. I wouldn't trust the very people that have run the club into the ground to hand anything over in a professional and business like manner. They are all failures and have failed the club that they should have seen prosper, why should they be any different now?

  17. What has NOT been said……. Is the we HAVE new investors, we HAVE a team in place and we HAVE current / new manager in place to move forward. What is it our season ticket money is paying for. People are right to be cautious given the current and ongoing shambles !!!!!!

  18. That’s fine, Ken - we all respect your view, I’m sure. However, many will not be in a position to throw £300 away as the case might turn out to be. Yes, Morrison and Gardiner out, and Kelty off, were original demands - plus better, watchable football would be a plus. But then the club raised administration as a real concern, noting they were seeking advice of an insolvency practitioner. So the goalposts will have moved for many. Now they also want a better understanding of where the club is going; what is the plan for survival. Would their season ticket money go towards the club or simply to its creditors in a winding-up. Hopefully there is substance to this talk of “investors”, or is it just talk like so many times before?

  19. I can cope with that Charles but it's so unfair that adults and ocer65s in main stand get a big reduction on last year compared to north stand ? I'm very very disappointed at the further rolling back of the young adult category too. So short sighted

  20. My thoughts are similar but, on the other hand, if we don't get some cash into the club, it might go into administration anyway. Will take the weekend to think about this, buy a lottery ticket and If Scotland win, will seriously consider renewing my season ticket!

  21. OK. I'm still reluctant to buy a seas.tkt until I read the words ' No administration ' We could still pump thousands I to the bottomless pit, Then see it disappear. Ongoing talks re investors means the situation is still to be resolved.

  22. Revival of a revival that went kaput around the time we won the cup. Nothing to do with the situation of the current club, but can't see it lasting very long, given the dedicated fanbases in Inverness, to ICT, Clach, (unfortunately) the Old Firm, and (even more unfortunately) C*unty, and its not an especially intriguing revival story. If they went for Union, Celtic or Citadel, you're looking at 100ish years since they were last uttered in a footballing sense, but Thistle kinda still exists as part of ICT. Unless they manage to pull off a Loch Ness FC kit miracle, they'll be dead as quick as the side that preceded it in the District League in the 2010s. That said, they are looking to get into the North Caley from next season, (Loch Ness rebrand? Who knows), but its certainly a massive ask for a side thats not been active in even the district leagues in roughly a decade

  23. On top of all the incompetent, ignorant and disrespectful acts committed by the custodians of our club , they leave us hanging and anxious about the future of our club at a time we should be carefree and looking forward to Scotland at the euros. I’m trying to focus on Scotland but my mind is continually wandering back to whether I have a team to come back to. Thank you to the board, you’re ruining this for me as well.

  24. I am sorry but I find it truly disgusting that Aaron, who has been with the club for 14 years, may have to fund his own operation because the club has cancelled the insurance it had to cover such eventualities. He hasn’t even had his testimonial match. Have the Board no shame? Just when I think the club can’t go any lower in my estimation. The club might be in financial difficulties but surely our successful directors have a conscience and a sense of moral duty towards a long time player who was injured on the playing field.

  25. I just hope we are not being too willing to snatch onto what seems like good news, understandable after the series of disasters we've just suffered. The story about potential investors isn't new - we've heard this one before. The statement seems to be very cautiously worded, and still we're not clear about whether administration is happening or not. It says a few things but I'm a little concerned about what it doesn't say. Are they playing the Supporters' Trust?? Let's be optimistic. But cautious in our optimism!

  29. Following the announcement by the club that season tickets are now on sale, the Supporters Trust Board have issued this statement, which has been shared with our members: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/post/season-tickets The Trust Board will continue to work on behalf of our members and the wider fan base, and we would welcome further members. Anyone joining now will have their membership apply until the end of July 2025. You can join using this link: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/join-us Many of you who supported our Stronger Together initiative indicated (understandably) that you would not contribute as long as the CEO was at the club. Now that the club has publicly confirmed that they have accepted his resignation, you can use the link below to contribute to this initiative, either through a subscription or by making a donation. As confirmed before, the Trust Board will only use this to purchase shares in the club when it is has sought and received commitments from the club Board on behalf of the Trust's members: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/stronger-together

  30. If the club is in a position to provide assurances of the club’s ongoing financial viability to the Supporters’ Trust which is then able to make this public, why has the club not taken it upon itself to make public statement to that effect?

  31. I am prepared to take on board the recommendation of the Supporters Trust to renew my season ticket and will do so shortly. Like everybody on this forum I was fearful for the future of the club but I really hope the new investment is secured and the club can reset and reconnect with the fans and local community.

  32. What kind of assurances has the Supporters Club obtained? "The uncertainty will soon be at an end." Is this merely the heads-up on the official statement coming out, or have they actually got more substantive info, e.g., have they been told what the investment (if it comes off) is to look like?
    1 point
  33. The fact they're open to access more info is a brilliant development. Shows there's even further between the board and the Supporters Trust, and have possibly managed to get themselves onto the board, but just don't want to speak out of turn

  36. It would be nice to know how short is short Has there been any official statement on his resignation ? Be nice to know as us as fans can get back behind the team and support our team . I for 1 like many would not trust SG with anything after his past record with us and his previous clubs . I’d have everything overlooked in what he does . I think he talks a good game . Knowledge I’m not so sure .
    1 point
  37. I would imagine that the insolvency practitioner will be heavily reliant on SG for knowledge of the club’s current state of affairs and for information needed by potential investors too. The chairman bailed out, and the rest of the board seem even less hands-on than he was, and every single one of them declined the opportunity to take temporary charge. There’s a lot of work needed to save the club and it helps to have someone with a bit of knowledge and experience than to have an even bigger void than there already is. So long as SG’s presence is a very short term arrangement, it’s surely better than the alternative, like it or not.

  38. Steady on. Plenty of other clubs have treated their fans like this. As most have alluded to, Gardiner probably has responsibilities that can't just be passed over, whether by design or by accident. He is also, as an employee of the club, within his rights to work his notice period, unless the club want to pay him off. Which, if he has duties and responsibilites that can't just be handed off over night means that he needs to stay to properly hand them over. I'd rather an actual responsible exchange of power over someone walking away and us getting caught out with all sorts of nonsense.

  39. No doubt ICT will time the release of any statements to tomorrow around 8PM UK time so that we are all suitably distracted ... but f*** it, time to shift focus to what is hopefully Ryan Christie's 50th cap for Scotland and dare I say it, with things so bleak at ICT, a better chance of a positivity coming out of Munich than the Longman!!! Currently sitting in the office with a Spotify playlist blasting Scotland/football related tunes in my ear. Not getting much work done as I am watching the videos all over Twitter of the Tartan Army in Munich and wishing I was there. (in my defence - it is lunchtime here). Have also been scouring Toronto for some car flags, and this week have had my son belting out the Tartan Specials "We'll Be Coming" in the car and now he knows all the words Job Done - heard him tell his pals "We play Germany on Friday" and extolling how well we might do. The Tartan Army ethos and optimism has been indoctrinated into him now Even the guy who does the pixellot stuff at his football team said to me last night he has Ryan in his FC24 video game team. Apparently if we win, Ryan gets an instant skill boost of +20 to 93, whatever that means!

  40. And on it goes yet again Gardiner still running the s**t show so no point releasing season tickets whilst majority want him well shot of beforehand . Resigned means Resigned au revoir, chow , good riddance. Would an employee and yes just an employee in any other job continue as before after failure after failure and not be told to just go now ? Unbelievable silence yet again and getting boring . Would any other club in the uk treat fans in this way ? NO ICT board , Playing fans like fools where the biggest fools are the current board. Embarrassing .

  41. Getting close to £10K now and if displayed names are genuine, there are some pretty recognisable names in there, including former club officials and staff, two former managers, and one assistant, players going back from now to 15+ years ago and even possibly one of our former CEOs or someone with the same name at least (no, not the current or recent CEOs).

  50. Lots of talk of being embarrassed at being an #ICTFC fan on other threads but it is things like this that still make me proud to be one. We rose as a COMMUNITY of fans, current and former team-mates, club staff (past and present), families of all of the above, and, it has to be said, also several football journalists to donate to this cause initiated by a former team-mate who himself went through injury hell and didn't get the support he needed and should have received from the club. £7K in less than 24 hours is great. Aaron will get his op and whether or not he plays football again, he should at least be able to play with his kids, which the article said he couldn't even do right now. That's the least he should expect after almost a decade and a half of loyal service. Look at the list of names in there and you will see many folks whose names you recognise but you may also notice - unless donating anonymously - the glaring lack of any names you might hope had developed a conscience and personally donated to the cause even if the club couldn't or wouldn't. I AM proud to be an ICT supporter because it means i can stand with and mingle with people like our supporters and others in our team's COMMUNITY. The ineptitude, inefficiency and seemingly utter disregard for our club from those who should be speaking now will not deter me from that. THEY are not the club. WE are the club, whether we have been here for 30 minutes or 30 years.
