  1. According to the BBC match report stats, in our last 3 games we have mustered a grand total of 3 shots on target, ie 1 per game. None of these games were against good or in-form teams. I know this is telling us nothing we don't really know already, but it's a pretty disgraceful stat all the same.

  2. I never understand posts like this. Look at our form over the last 8 or so games. We are not on a good run and are not playing well and creating little of note in these matches to excite the fans. Despite this, I don't think anyone has said they are not behind the team or not supporting them despite this sticky patch (EDIT: Apart from Mahonio and he doesn't count anyway). Posters on here are simply voicing their concerns about these recent performances but they're still supporting the side.

  4. Hamilton are an utterly dreadful outfit. In my opinion the worst team in the league. Everyone knows they niggle, foul, dive and time waste. We've now lost twice at home to them, add in losing twice to killie and not having beaten Utd once. We have a mountain to climb and I'm not sure that we look up for it. Can't keep clean sheets and can't score. Not a combination for success. very very poor again today.

  5. Kilmarnock might be the only thing that helps us. It's not all over but it is looking bleak. Need to get safe and look to build over summer. Hughes or not I'm not sure. i always think you have to give time to a manager, he has now had time to do his own thing and it has worked in parts. Recently it has look d shambolic. Possibly due to injuries etc but I'm not convinced it's all down to that. Maybe last year was on the back of what was already there and with the quality of players we had. Time will tell. need to get behind the team now and help them.

  6. Warming up on the touch line is possibly the closest we will see foran to playing again. He cant shake off injury and age isnt on his side, been out so long its hard to see him back at this level if at all. Sometimes wonder if he appears on the bench when times are bad to distract or motivate the fans, a demonstration by the club to justify the longer than usual contract he was given when injured ad aging, showing they are trying to get our captain back to save the day. For me that ship has sailed and warren is now the key leader.

  10. Aaaaaah the answer to all our problems we have currently.............why has no one thought of it before?. Hang on a minute I think Chelsea have tried that!!!. Everytime Roman threw his toys out of the pram another manager got sacked( 12 managers in 10 years). Frustrating as things are at the moment giving YOGI the bullet is not the answer IMHO

  11. Sounds like we are turning into the Man Utd of the North. All about possession, and nice passing to each other with no penetration and no shots on target. But we play football the right way. Why dont the players realise it doesnt always work and we would rather see some up and at them sometimes, at least seeing them give it a proper go. On this form our games before the split dont look too easy! I hope we do beat Hibs, even if its penalties after extra time, cause players may start playing for their semi final place a bit more. Hope Richie Foran can drive us forward a bit more, if he doesn't get a reaction from playing. I would start him against Hibs, and see if he can give 60-70 minutes of his full on style

  12. I thought Lewis Horner had a pretty decent game today, for what it's worth......

  13. I can't remember the last time I left a game so demoralized. Both teams were utterly hopeless - the difference between the two was that it was us who made the blunder that gifted them a goal. We only ever seem to concede goals either from set pieces or from giving the ball away within 30 yards of our own goal. It would be nice if opponents actually had to work a bit to score against us. Once they got in front, Accies were properly cynical - lots of niggly fouls, lots of injury feigning, unbelievable time wasting. Good for them. They're fighting for every point because they're worried about going down. Our lot need to realize that they're in a scrap to avoid eleventh as well - they don't seem to have twigged yet. Yes, we were short of players today, but it's not as if we were playing kids. These guys are all seasoned professionals, and too many of them were **** poor today. I'd give Williams and Horner pass marks for effort, and Fon Williams didn't do anything wrong. The others were rotten. My faith in Yogi was badly shaken today. The tactical plan was poor from the off - Wedderburn was constantly outmanoeuvered and outmuscled by Carlton Morris, a rubbish striker who has scored three goals against us this season and just one in his other twenty-four games. Draper in defence would have been far more sensible. Playing Hughes up front was laughable in the first half, as we kept punting the ball over his head; when he made it stick, he never got any support unless Roberts was racing up to support him. In the second half, when the game was open (and far more conducive to our passing play) we instead subbed off Roberts and brought on Foran to play up front...and spent the last half hour punting straight long balls. We had been on top when they scored, for god's sake. Of all the times to ditch your principles, this was the worst by a mile. When we eventually got Storey on, we stuck him out wide where he couldn't get into the game. It was also embarrassing to see Yogi berating the stand-side linesman when they scored - because of a throw-in he gave against us in their half a full 90 seconds earlier. Firstly, it was the right decision (not that it stopped the folk around me giving said linesman dog's abuse for the rest of the game) and secondly, it had nothing to do with the goal we conceded. Pretty pathetic. As for the laugh and joke he was having with the Accies dugout with a few minutes still to play, well I'd prefer he was concentrating on us! Not good. Not good at all. There's a lot for us to worry about.

  14. bit of an overreaction on here but it is definitely very worrying now. By the way some are talking we are already down but I think Killie will be our saving grace. Who says the cup is a distraction? We win on wed and the fight for places may help our league form and will stop the rot which may just save our season. But the lack of goals is seriously worrying but we have what we have we just have to find away to claw ourselves to safety. I agree though that we have to move away from this possession style and go more direct. The radio made it sound like we had a lot of chances near the end so maybe things might change but we need it sooner rather than later.

  15. Terrible result, I've been staying optimistic and putting it down to bad form, but this was a must win in terms of keeping our hopes of a top 6 finish alive and staying clear of that dreaded play-off place. Just a theory, but has Tansey's drop in form coincided with his proposed move to Aberdeen? It's not hard to imagine how that could influence a players mindset and performance. He was outstanding last year and I believe he's one of the most gifted centre mid's in the league in terms of his range of passing, but has looked poor of late. We can defend Hughes by saying that injuries have played a major part in this seasons slump, but it is blatantly obvious that playing Vigurs along with Tansey and Draper does not work and a tactic change is required. A tricky, agile attacking midfielder with the ability to thread the ball through the gaps in a defence wouldn't go a miss.

  17. contrary to most on here, I've seen us play a lot worse, however our inability to score is worrying and Accies ability to time waste is legendary. We created a number of decent opportunities but got nothing on target. It's a tad disconcerting.

  22. We need to look at the facts, last season we had 2 of the best players in the league in Christie and Shinnie who are now gone. We also lost a hell of a player in Watkins. The squad was pretty settled, we had no real injury worries throughout and the same players played week in week out. This season there has been new faces, probably the biggest injury crisis in the league and to be honest a tougher league with Aberdeen improving and Hearts coming in. We have been in the quarter finals of both cups (still have a fantastic chance in one of them to reach another final given the draw) we have hovered around mid table all season and to be honest if we go on a wee run of wins who's to say a miracle couldn't happen and we finish 4th? Yes we can't be complacent as we could still end up in a dogfight for relegation. But we have one of the smallest budgets in the league, we need to be realistic, Hughes can't work miracles every season like last but to me he's a damn good manager and I think the criticism of him is a touch unfair. If we stay up, given the good cup runs we have to say its been a successful season. We need to stop dreaming of last season, if it ever happens again, wonderful, but we just aren't a big enough club to be doing the things we did last season every season.

  24. Today was foul, the ref was foul, the players were foul, every bit of this afternoon was *****. 10 years ago, we'd be relegated by now so it's just as well the league standard is p*ss poor. I'll be quite honest too, going down might again let us start again. When it comes to talking about players well there was no real positives. Fon Williams looked nervous (again), Horner got forward, never created much and was caught out of place far to often. Devine just wasn't comfortable, wedderburn isn't a CB end of. Williams was same as Horner. Draper was poor, Tansey couldn't do anything apart from pass sideways apart from one or two diagonals! Vigurs I though done okay but again isn't the standard we expect and I hope he leaves in the summer! Roberts was slow and did nothing, polworth tried and failed all day long! Hughes, well he doesn't look like he's played football before...he was undoubtedly the worst player so far this season! Can't believe I'll say it but D. Lopez looked more interested. He never challenged for a header, was to slow at releasing the ball and just didn't look any good! Foran actually looked interested when he came on, covered a fair bit of ground and if he's fit he has to start vs Hibs! Storey never done anything and we never used a final sub surprise surprise. We have to hope that county take hibs to pens tomorrow and if hibs win, get so hammered they'll be legless on Wednesday! Can't see us doing anything otherwise! Really not looking forward to next few games, which I've never said before.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
