  1. That would account for why Tiffoney was on the deck for ages getting treatment then instead of jumping straight up, grabbing his hand bag and shoving Welsh in the chest like a little girl.

  2. The fact we are still debating the red card for that foul just shows the real lack of refereeing talent coming through now. Absolute joke of a decision.

  3. Given where the foul took place, between the ref, linesman and fourth official they should be getting that decision right.

  4. What an amazing win that was. With the game looking touch and go if it was even going to be played, after the heavens opened, and losing Danny Devine in the warm up, I wondered what ICT would turn up for our latest Friday night fixture. The first half was a non event, possibly the dullest 45 mins I've sat through this season, and there's been a few. I couldn't believe how inept Partick were, they looked early on that they didn't have many ideas of how to break us down, and there was very few goal mouth incidents of note. But, second half was a different story. I was just praying that we didn't start the second half the way we've started a lot of them, by giving a sloppy goal away, but we started on the front foot, and once Henderson got behind their defence and put a terrific ball into their box for Shaw to blast into the net, it was well deserved for ICT being on top at that time. Then, came one of the worst refereeing decisions I have seen in many a year. Sending Welsh off for a tackle in our opponents half that merited a yellow, but never a red, took everybody by surprise. He just clipped the player and never injured him, but the ref couldn't wait to get the red card out, Is Grant Irvine the new Willie Collum? Then it was a 'backs to the wall' performance, that Inverness seem to relish. I thought that it was only a matter of time till they equalised by one of their numerous corners and fouls that Irvine kept giving them, or someone would trip Tiffony in the box, but we held on for an amazing victory. As someone said on here, we win when we think we'll lose and we lose when we think we'll win. If we had lost, it was thank you and goodnight, but the win still gives us a very slim chance to make the playoffs.

  5. It needs to be dealt with consistently, and the red card last night was out of step with how these things are typically sanctioned. And why was it ok for Tiffoney to shove Welsh in the chest?

  6. Never a red card, shocking decision. And why didn't Tiffony get a yellow for his hand bag retaliation? Anyway, a great and much needed three points.

  7. I thought he had a decent game trying to break things up and stop Partick playing in midfield. I was worried when we lost Devine pre-match (and did Mckay miss part of the warm up too as I didn’t see him doing shooting practice) but the defence coped remarkably well with Partick’s thugs and got a deserved clean sheet. A shout out for Delaney who didn’t let the early (possibly harsh) yellow stop him playing his part, particularly as he was the right sided central defender so on his weaker foot. Any word on Ram, as he’s been out for a while now, and we are short at the back depending on the issues with Devine and Duffy.

  8. Under the circumstances that is probably our best result of the season. The attitude and commitment of the players after Welsh was wrongly sent off was great to see and hopefully the injustice galvanises them to go on a run. Beat Morton next week and, who knows, maybe the play offs could be a possibility. The first half was dire, with a flat atmosphere and the feeling of an end of season game with nothing at stake. The weather probably contributed to that. Ridgers’ save was the highlight in a half we started pretty well but Partick finished on top. Henderson created a great goal for Shaw then the referee lost the plot with the sending off. From then on it was backs to the wall but we got the job done despite it feeling like 10 v 12. Well done to all involved with, for me, Ridgers MOM followed by Henderson and Shaw. Hopefully Devine is fit for next week and we have some other casualties back too. It felt good getting that win against all the odds!

  9. I think we are all agreed that was a backs to the wall performance in the second half.Great show of resilience drive and determination. Shocking red card,a yellow yes.Jay Henderson has been a blessing for us and made another assist tonight.Shaw put the ball away perfectly. Was pleased with some lovely calm play from Carson.Defenders did well and good saves from Ridgers. The first half was a hard watch though and both team were as bad as each other.Second half much much better and then with 10 men the boys put their bodies on the line.

  11. What a great result, and a really terrific 'backs to the wall' performance after the shocking red card for the captain. I really hope we appeal it. Well done everybody (Ridgers particularly). Onwards and upwards, it could still be a remarkable last few weeks of the season

  13. Ridgers made some great saves, particularly the fingertip one in the first half. The defence did a great job too. Our football wasn’t very pretty but that’s a great 3 points.

  15. Interesting that as many as 76% of fans want rid of Dodds even if he goes on to get us promoted, wins the Scottish Cup, gets us European football, wins Scotland’s manager of the year award and secures the club’s financial future for years to come. I didn’t realise he was that unpopular!

  17. A great backs to the wall display and a cracking goal made for a welcome three points. Well done to the 2000 fans who braved the weather to support the players rather than stay at home and watch the game on tv

  18. Not sure what planet I was on , but I thought that the game was on tomorrow and would have been there, until I saw this thread - a totally painless way to celebrate a win. Well done to all. I believe.

  19. Now whatever you want to say about this season NOBODY can complain about the 110% effort, passion and togetherness of that performance - especially when playing against 12 men. The Fat Lady is singing "A Bridge and a Castle" and onwards to the Covid Capital of Scotland.

  20. With how results have gone this season I was very quick to vote NO and won't change my mind even if we manage to win the cup (not happening) or reach the play offs (that's not happening either unless the current teams in the play off positions have a rotten last few games)!! It's been clear this season and last that he can't seem to have a season where we don't hit a shocking run of form and on both occasions he really shouldn't have survived but did! We need to gain promotion sooner rather than later so a new manager is a must for next season otherwise attendances/season ticket sales will fall as fans won't put up with **** performances any longer!

  26. Between what should be a difficult away game at Morton and the final home game with Dundee we are quite capable of taking 3 points from all the other games in-between those two. It's pity there's not more opportunity to take points off the teams above us competing for the play-off places but plenty of them will be taking points off each other in the run-in. It will be close and tight but I've got a more confident feeling that it is now doable after that great fighting 3 points last night - well done all

  28. I am impressed if not bamboozled by the use of legal jargon but equally bamboozled that there is not a simple way to get a response to a question which is clearly irking a lot of fans. Why cant the Supporters Trust or an amalgamation of fans groups make another formal request, post it on here and other fan forums - ask the question at every interview and add it as a regular feature on the Podcast - and really put the pressure on. Surely then if they dont come out of their shell with that kind of actions they can be severely criticised with "evidence". Instead of headlines about an amalgamation with Tinkerville put a feckin headline in the Courier - "When will ICT fans receive news about the AGM ?"

  29. I agree with that. It was a cynical and unnecessary foul, but we see them in almost every game and normally a yellow at worst.

  30. According to Dodds in his post match interview, the ref said the red card was for Welsh raking his studs down the player’s Achilles. Should’ve gone to Specsavers!

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
