  1. Time to get right into this mob - come on ICT! #CaleyAway
  2. A 6-0 defeat is hard to take, but let's just put this in a bit of perspective and compare it with results in the previous manager's first season with us. Despite taking over the side when we were 2nd in the league and inheriting a significantly stronger squad than then he left us with, in his first year here Hughes took his team to Celtic Park twice in the league where we were hammered 5-0 and then 6-0 by a Celtic team which was not a patch on the team we saw today. In the cup we managed to scrape through against Stranraer after a reply before being thrashed 5-0 at home by Dundee Utd. As for the game itself, whilst accepting we clearly have issues at the back, I thought the result was more a reflection of the quality and application of a superb Celtic side than of a poor performance from us. I've seen us play worse than that and win.
  3. The only people worthy of pass marks are the small but loyal band who travelled down to witness that debacle leaving so early on a Saturday morning. Five points to every man, woman and child of them.
  4. Weighing up the merits of watching BBC with volume muted.
  5. You obviously werent there at our gubbings under his tenure at CP. Just as bad as today imho
  6. That's about as happy clappy as it gets.
  7. Mulraney looked especially dangerous, although Celtic were having a cup of tea mentally by the time he came on, I thought Cole looked OK as well, both Billy's rather ineffectually, which was at least better than Anier (Oh how we needed Ofere!). Given that we have lost 5-0, 6-0 and 5-0 under JH at Celtic Park, in the previous two seasons, the result was about par for the course
  8. There's not a chance in hell we're getting safe. We're far too slow and too error-prone at the back, there isn't enough presence, or composure, or pace in midfield, we have no creativity in the wide areas and few discernible tactics. Celtic are an excellent side, but I reckon any other Premiership club would have given them more of a game today. Earlier in the season, we did at least manage to stop them playing for 45 minutes; today, they were miles quicker to everything, we were incapable of closing them down at all and ended up just resorting to embarrassing fouls. I hate seeing an ICT team trying to kick opponents off the park, but if they must do it, they should at least make sure it works. At the back, Warren looked lost; up front, Anier was completely anonymous. Normally I really look forward to a game at Tynecastle, but I can't see anything other than an easy Hearts win, now they seem to have come on to a bit of form. I'd like to see Polworth come into central midfield as he at least offers a little more pace and fight than Vigurs (who, to be fair, was no worse than Tansey or Draper today); Mulraney should maybe be given another chance from the start, although I still suspect he has very little end product, and as Anier did so little, why not stick in Ebbe, who looks a bit of a handful. Maybe the sort of player who could be useful in the Championship.
  9. time to wake up and smell the coffee. we were playing the best celtic team for years, so confident they are going to win, who spend millions on players, no one else in Scotland can get near them and have a forward worth 40 million. we have a team bought from the bargain basement because our previous manager engineered his own way out of the club and legged it with the next couple of years transfer budget. move on to the relegation battle and see what happens. foran is going no where due to costs
  10. Well, that was really hard to watch. Second best by a mile today. Thought our best player was Cole, and he was only on for about half an hour. Really fear for us over the next 3 league games.
  11. The pigeons probably mistook our defenders for statues.
  12. I remember being at Parkhead back in 1984 watching Celtic beat Inverness Thistle 6-0. The Jags gave them a much harder game that day.
  13. If we finish the game with 11 players on the pitch I'll be very surprised .
  14. I think you might be right but I am hoping for another upset today to go with the disarray on the other side of Glasgow
  15. It's a demonstration of what's possible when you think a bit outside the norm when working with advertisers and sponsors. Dicksons are sponsoring what's already in place with interviews, but further support and buy-in will be needed as we (fingers crossed) roll out further services to ensure they remain sustainable. Two new volunteers have joined the media team in recent weeks and are quickly finding their feet....freeing up others to develop new services. It's not all going to happen overnight and things will be grown at a sensible and manageable pace for the long term.
  16. Aye and we drew 2-2 with them earlier this season!
  17. Couldn't agree more Brown knows and uses every dirty trick in the book from stamping, ankle knocking, punching, heel clipping to being a master of diving. Being hailed as the potential saviour of Scotland, pooh he is more likely to be Scotland's downfall if he comes up against a referee who really knows the game. brown
  18. ^ have to agree and quite why it deserves red dots is unclear although it's clear some on here will use any result as an opportunity to bash our previous manager. Fact is foran put out a team that looked to lack shape or ideas and somehow he has sapped all confidence from our key men. The performance was worse than the result or scoreline.
  19. Agreed. Disappointed that not one of the pundits felt like mentioning this. Brown seems to be above criticism at times.
  20. It was. See here We also had more attempts on target and strung more passes together that day! :-o
  21. Talking of starting thing. I don't know if the "highlights" will show the Draper booking for his kick out at Brown but it would be worth having a closer look at that. Not mentioned by the pundits, of course, but he kicked out in retaliation for Brown deliberately stepping back onto his foot - Brown knew fine what he was doing.
  22. Stop making excuses. it was Celtic, it was Parkheid, Celtic also hammered Rangers, Celtic were excellent. Bottom line, we were *****. Its no good saying such and such was good when they came on, the game was lost by then and Celtic just wanted the pride of a clean sheet. 40m for Dembelle, rubbish, maybe worth 6 or 8 million. WE NEED TO GET CLEAN SHEETS, WE NEED DESIRE, WE NEED COURAGE, AND WE NEED SOME LUCK. C'mon Caley Thistle, lets start playing for our lives, we can still do it, Hearts have had 2 good games, Rangers are in turmoil, and at home we are the only team to stop Celtic having full points. We can get something out of these next 3 games, then we can pass the play off spot and get safety. Come on Jaggies
  23. East Kilbride only lost 2-0 to Celtic a couple of seasons or so ago. Just saying like.
  24. FFS another shambles we have a GK who is a total liability a GK coach who cannot play because of injury all the time and the 2nd choice playing in the 4 tier and we cannot recall. You cannot make this up .
  25. Ooft. That was dire. Good as Celtic are, ICT looked like amateurs. To go to Celtic Park with that formation was either bold or foolish. It turns out that "suicidal" was probably more accurate. First 15 min were OK, but after that, the space between our lines made it so easy for Celtic's flair players to operate. I still do not like the Tansey, Draper, Vigurs midfield - it doesn't work and Richie has to recognise it. Mulraney, Cole and Ebbe did OK when they came on, but the rest were poor. Draper was probably the best of the rest, but could have been sent off. How much that's dented the confidence will remain to be seen, but Hearts away will be all the more difficult now. You know it's bad when it looks like our best chance of staying up is an implosion at Ibrox.
  26. Given Celtic's recent cup performances, Albion Rovers could give us a bit of a doing ... ICT doing no better than Thistle in 1985. Sad times.
  27. We had a better manager then!
  28. Full time 6-0. That may be the first game I've seen where 6-0 flatters the losing side. The BBC stats state that Celtic had 27 shots on goal. I would say that we looked like amateurs but at least most amateur sides have a bit of shape about them. God knows what goes on at the training ground but whatever it is none of it appears to be sinking in. Celtic are an outstanding side, the best we've seen in this country for a long time but we are a shadow of what we used to be. OFW, Warren, Tansey have regressed over the last 12 months and a chunk of the new signings are a downgrade on their predecessors. Really difficult to pick any positives out of that but I felt Mulraney and the young lad Ebbe did OK when they came on. I thought both made some clever runs and won a few corners although by that stage it was OK more than a training exercise for Celtic. Two final Points: (1) What's the craic with the floated corners by Tansey. I lost count of how many Gordon plucked out of the air and then one quick throw and we were under pressure. (2) what did we do to Steven Thompson? He couldn't hide his contempt for us during BBC commentary.
  29. Watching a replay of the build up to the injury time 6th goal I'm thinking "There's some pigeons on the pitch, they think it's all over......!"
  30. Draper and Mckay hooked, that's just bizarre. I know Draper was on a booking but he was our only midfielder that was showing for the ball.
  31. Any out of contract keepers around .... what's Jimmy Calder doing these days?
  32. Pretty heartbreaking to see what we've become to be honest. We've resorted to being a bunch of hackers and spoilers and it's depressing to watch. How Vigurs wasn't sent off is a mystry and I'd be astonished if we finish this with 11 men. Absolutely no discipline whatsoever.
  33. If we finish the half with 11 it will be an achievement !!! If (when) Celtic score a 2nd then someone will get sent off in frustration
  34. Watching BBC pre-match coverage ... have I missed something ... is it Rangers that are playing?
  35. 1 point
If Dave King say's he's resigned then he's resigned. He just doesn't know it yet. Yet another The Rangers matter heading for litigation. Maybe they should stop playing football and start playing tennis as the most entertaining and significant drama takes place these days in the court rather than on the pitch.
  36. 1 point
What's happening at Ibrox? The club saying they have accepted Warburton's resignation and Warburton saying that he's not offered to resign! What a shambolic club they are.
  37. He'll be ideal for ship-steadying at Rovers. They were a good side last season but have gone into freefall of late. Oddly Yogi's new appointment is likely to go largely unnoticed given the 'He's gone!/Naw he hasnae!' comedy over at the new club.
  38. Sam Winnall scored his first goal for his new club, Sheffield Wednesday, tonight (10 Feb) in theirv 3-0 win over Birmingham.
  39. Will just need to get in contact with Brorra then
  40. If that means that JH is now off our payroll that can only be a good thing. He will do a decent enough job in the short term. He generally does.
  41. Here's the last of the videos.....Dicksons are the new "Interviews Sponsor" for CaleyJagsTV. I should also hopefully have some good news (especially for overseas fans) in regards to expansion of CaleyJagsTV in the very, very near future. Having been let down on the tech front so many times over the last 12(?) years of trying to get things up and running, I don't want to get ahead of myself until it's in place!!
  42. Unless we can buy in a really good experienced keeper we must hold on to OFW, his confidence is low, his injury, I fear, has not mended properly but he will come good when fully fit. Do not bring in someone else's reject.
  43. Whats yogi gotta do with us being humiliated today if he was still here no way wed b rooted at the bottom
  44. Absolute disgrace that he has retained his position .Absolute disgrace we do not have a back up keeper that can step up.Absolute disgrace we have no cover at all for the back 5. Absolute bizarre we never brought anybody in the window other more front players. if Esson cannot play what is his role
  45. I was going to say...a 6-0 scoreline is what id expect from a Highland league team against a top tier team
  46. McGowan would be a solid signing but I'm not sure how focused on football he would be able to be with his father currently facing trial for murder.
  47. What a vile nasty comment .Shame on you !!!!
  48. I`d say any Scottish team would have been hammered today at Celtic. Plus we did gift a couple at least. Cup out of the way now. Time to bring us together and get safe!
