  1. Tansey! I could do with a pint of what your on tonight
  2. Mind when Yogi wanted to sign about five Partick thistle players? Those were the days.
  3. Abdul Osman a player we tried to get before also freed by Patrick a Draper type of midfielder fit in well with us as would Stevie Lawless on the left doubt we could afford either but what a difference they'd make to our squad
  4. Tansey? Osman? Storey? Do you just like the idea of a team full of expensive, unfit has beens? Trafford was a great player for us when he had to step in, and could contribute so much more this season. Storey was good when he was here, but only relative to the utter nonentities that we had upfront prior to him arriving. He was the type of player that very quickly settled into the lifestyle and started to show less and less interest and willingness to win the ball. What makes you think he'd be any better the 2nd time around? Same with Tansey, he goes to Aberdeen.... Gets nowhere, achieves very little, is not match fit and is now unsurprisingly surplus to requirement. So what, we pay what would be a fortune to us to take him back here so he can try and recapture some of his previous form. Would the drive be there, no..... Would the enthusiasm be there, no.... Would it be value for money, no. I'm quite excited at the current squad we've got, and think robbo and his coaches will get the best out of them starting with a good preseason
  5. Don't know how you can say that Dougal. Last time we played Buckie, Scott Boden got 2 and we realised we had unearthed a gem. Last time I was at Kieth (?) we saw the legend that was Dean McDonald. And my car got vandalised. What's not to like?
  6. Bell had a very good start I thought, and he scored 7 goals up to the New Year and he was getting a fair number of plaudits from posters on here (he was one of the bright spots in a poor start)....sure, he went off the boil a bit, but he'll only be 22 in July and has plenty of development to go, surely we don't write someone off for a temporary loss of form, when the overall signs are good
  7. Probably the best we've been provided for as far as forwards are concerned for five years.
  8. He'd be worth a shout - he may feel he has something to prove. With the caveat that ONLY if we can sign him within budget,of course. Same goes for Bannigan & Lawless too....although neither may fancy a move up North
  9. Agree with that to an extent. Also I think Storey would do well at Championship level but surprised PT let him go. Never really got a fair go at the dons then was in and out of that struggling PT side - wouldn't be a shock to see him head back South as I only think teams outside the top tier in Scotland would give him a chance much like Fisher who seems in a similar situation.
  10. I first thought he was like an Austin Allegro - wouldn’t run for 20 minutes without breaking down. Then it was Tracy Austin - delivering more than first impressions suggested. I’m now thinking he could be a Jane Austen - quietly developing into a classic. I think a combination of Austin, Oakley and MacKay will cause opponents a lot of problems next season.
  11. Perhaps the Cheif Executive?!
  12. Storey and Tansey seem to be some of the latest in a long line of players who did well at ICT but misfired as soon as they went elsewhere. It's often said that some times players just "fit" a certain club but it does seem that we have been an excellent fit for players who just don't get going when they make their big move. Aside from the likes of Shinnie, Hayes, Robson, Rooney and probably only a few others I would say the vast majority of players who have left ICT have done so to the (slight) detriment of their careers.
  13. Trying to get back on topic, Gary has been a great player for the club over six seasons. He was unlucky to miss two finals, but always a great inspiration, even when just a sub. As I said before, I'm not surprised the club has made this proposal, but I think they are trying to treat him right: stating he remains captain whilst he is here is a big statement. On the argument about the leadership off the park, I am not well placed to comment. The previous regime got us to two finals, win the Scottish Cup which will never be forgotten, achieved several top six finishes, got us into Europe, , appointed a rookie Manager, paid wages that were not sustainable if we got relegated and....we got relegated. The current regime has to steady the ship and balance the books, to give a foundation for growth. Yes, it means tough decisions, some we will agree with and some we won't, but it I see too early to pass judgement. This is a key season for us and we will understand the ambitions of the Board better,
  14. Every thread I seem to read has two individuals locked into a battle of one-up-manship with each other. They attack each other, and others, who dare to speak out against their view points and comments. Attacks come in the form of carefully cloaked and worded exchanges - with neither actually coming out of things particularly well. If said individuals put as much effort into supporting the club, not attacking each other, the board, the club, the players, other members etc then I would imagine that the club would be much better for it, and this forum would be much more bearable for all who wish to catch up on the latest coming and goings. Gents, may I suggest you meet up behind the bike sheds to resolve your petty squabbles and perhaps leave the forum to postive exchanges based around the good of the club and not the good of yourselves.
  15. I am on a years employment contract. Next june I have to have found a new job but I am also on three months notice which makes it hard for future employment contracts. If i was allowed to move freely i might be able to get a longer contract with another employer before the end of the year to give myself greater security or better long term prospects. I am sad Gary will eventually leave the club but not holding him to the notice period gives him the choice to stay and potential to look for longer or better prospects elsewhere. And if there is no fee he might get a signing bonus. Fair and honourable and football . Good decision and good communication to gary and supporters.
  16. Your completely missing the point. Unless something comes up, which it probably wont, something that means he doesn't lose out financially or suit his personal life then come the start of the season he will be still our player and our captain. It's blatantly obvious in black and white with actual quotes from the gaffer. He only leaves if he wants to leave and that will be by his agent getting him a better deal that suits him AND his family. The faux outrage is cringeworthy from some. Yes we will miss him as a player from a couple years ago maybe or even yes towards end of this season and undoubtedly as captain and leader of men but this is football and players come and go. We are not pushing him out and we certainly haven't sneaked the news out as the most important person involved knew weeks ago the situation.
  17. Some people seem to be having their cake and eating it. 1) Lament the club for being a 'shambles off the park', then complain when a CEO with business acumen is appointed. 2) Claim the clubs finances are 'perilous', invoking the possibility of administration, then lamenting the manager for shipping out our highest earning players.

Just how many teams are McEwan Legal sponsoring? They seem to be most of the Championship teams County home strip is Rancid
  19. If we sit back and take stock, is this not normally seen as the kindest way to treat someone leaving a club that is surplus to requirements. Get yourself a deal elsewhere and the club will not make it difficult for you to move on. Been a good servant for a few years now but as seen with the likes of Coll Donaldson moving in it's unfortunately time for Gary to move on if he wants to continue with first team football. No brainer for me and good luck to Gary who has served Inverness well. Worth a hall of fame entry.
  20. I have always liked Warren. In my opinion he has been the best signing the club made in the last decade or so. My reading of the report indicates to me that the club is treating him entirely fairly. Whatever transpires I wish him all the best for the future. Top man.
  21. From my perspective there have been numerous positives since the end of the season and they far outweigh the negatives. A strong CJT now is just what is needed to raise issues and hopefully assist the new regime. As fer Mr Warren - a great servant, always gave 100% but his days are numbered.
  22. I really don’t see the problem here. The bottom line is that if his contract needs to be honoured, it will be. But as part of a process of urgently necessary cost cutting, an alternative option is being sought. The financial reality is that each and every means of cutting costs has to be pursued. There is, unfortunately, no room for sentiment when the future of the club is at stake. I don’t know the intimate details of Gary’s current contract but would guess that it was, a la Foran, a fairly long one given under the previous boardroom and managerial regimes in the Premiership. We need to thank Gary for his huge contribution (for which he has been remunerated) and regret the earlier failure which has made it necessary to try to terminate his engagement.
  23. Given that background, I suppose that we can expect some cuts.
  24. Yeah let’s make it CaleyJagsTogether?
  25. Whoever takes this sorry mess over should think of a rebrand or name change CJT is total naff and has tonnes of unwanted baggage with it I’d personally rather join Hezbollah than caleyjagsforever the way this farce is acting out Dougal
  26. So yet another pre-season playing against pure diddies and therefore not preparing sufficiently enough for the season ahead I’m not saying we should have glamour friendlies but a little imagination from those that claim to be the guardians of this club is needed We deserve better Dougal
  27. Even though Brechin were awful, I quite liked the look of wee Jordan Sinclair who scored two against us at their place, from midfield, though one was a pelanty. You sometimes wonder what the story is with some players. He had a year at Hibs, but never played, then a year at Livi in League 1 but only appeared 10 times. 22 appearances and 6 goals last season for Brechin. Still only 21.

They even sponsor the Inverness Thistle welfare league team!
  29. Nothing since but ain't that what wer all about getting rough diamonds! ICT suited storey he'd be a machine at this level hope we can do a deal to get him who nos if warren leaves that's a wage freed up
  30. Red dotted for suggestions that would undoubtedly improve our ropey front line unreal!
